Yambati met the grin with a quiet stare for a moment, then glanced down at the books. "The Herb Book, The Weaponless Warrior, and Sparring," he answered, adjusting his glasses.

Grave sobred slightly, trying to be professional. "Very well," he replied, reaching his hands out to take the books from the student. He carefully opened each cover and removing the date card from each slipped them into the electronic scanner beside him, waited for the appropriate whirr, then replaced each card back into each corresponding tome. "There you are," Grave said, handing the books back over the counter. "Take care of them, and enjoy!"

Though his visits were usually only practical, Yambati hadn't come to return his most recent checked-out books. No, he merely wanted to be surrounded by the shelves of books, and take a closer look at some of the art, while he relaxed and thought. Things in his life had changed rather dramatically in the last few days, what with his confession to Kallisto, and while he was sure he'd done the perfect thing, it still left him off-kilter.
Apparently, being together with a loved one made things quite different. He felt almost as if he were seeing the City in a whole new light, as if some of the weight on his mind and heart had been lifted. Things seemed... brighter. Things besides flowers.
He was bonded with another individual, and though he would have loved to spend every waking moment with her... he did need a bit of time to think and sort his scattered thoughts out. So he sat at one of the tables, a book that he wasn't really paying attention to before him.

Blayk's reasons for coming to the library weren't nearly as noble as Yambati's. Antigone had pinched, poked, and bothered her until the Choleric female finally gave him, tugging on her shoes and trudging on down to the library, following the directions the Sanguine had given her. She'd never really been anywhere but the gardens on her own... And she was going to be honest with herself. Walking down the hallways of the school on her own was scary, in a way.
With a soft sigh, she pushed open the doors, and slipped inside the room. Almost from the very start, the smell of books overpowered her. Paper and ink, leather bindings and long-known and much sought-after knowledge. But she was being silly. Shaking her head, running a green-tinged hand through her brown hair, she tried to shake off the feeling like she didn't belong there.
Prowling around the bookshelves, not entirely sure where she should start, the young Journeyman stopped when she saw Yambati was there as well. She knew him... They had talked, briefly, during art class. "Hullo," she said tentatively, offering him a smile. If she remembered a'right, Yambati was nervous around people. Or maybe it was her? She couldn't be certain.

Yambati lifted his head abruptly from where he'd been staring absently at his hands. He'd noticed that there was still dirt under his nails.
It took a moment before he recognized the girl. Then he tilted his head slightly. "... Blayk, wasn't it?" He wondered if she needed anything. But he wasn't... annoyed that she'd said hi. Not like he would have been weeks ago, before he'd met Kallisto. No, the Yambati she saw now was different than how he'd been in Art class. He wasn't scowling anywhere near as much - more, he just looked quizzical.

Perhaps she had judged him wrong? Of course, Blayk wasn't exactly socially experienced, so perhaps she had simply misread him before? Either way, the Yambati before her was much more... content, it seemed, than the Yambati she had encountered in class. "Yes, that's right. I'm Blayk. You seem... pleased," she blurted out, before quickly snapping her mouth shut. "Ah, I mean- you just seem more- I'll stop now. I think I'm making a fool of myself. It's nice to see you again," she offered with a bright smile, hoping he wouldn't notice her blunder.

Yambati blinked. People could... tell? That he was happier? That things were brighter?
"... I think I am more pleased," he answered for her. He was interested in all the changes happening to him... then again, they'd only talked for a few minutes, so maybe Blayk wasn't the best person to tell him how much he'd changed.
"And yes, nice to see you. Are you looking for anything in particular...?"

"I suppose... I'm supposed to be doing some studying, since I came in so late in the cycle... So yes and no. I haven't the faintest idea of where to start," she said with a heavy sigh, strong shoulders slumping a bit as green eyes, matching her skin, moved over the rows upon rows of books. "Art was my first class, just to give you an idea on how much I need to make up." The Choleric stuck her tongue out, and sighed again. "I suppose I better get started, and stop bothering you, neh?"

"Art was only my second," he informed her, lips curling faintly. "So you're not terribly far behind, by comparison to some of us.
"But, hm... the class right before art was Law, and our lesson was fairly straightforward - memorizing the Laws of Empyrean. Perhaps you could start there? And..." He hesitated, surprised by his readiness to offer, before murmuring, "If you have any questions, just ask me."

Blayk nodded slowly as she listened to him talk. He was being awefully helpful... And for that, she was very grateful. "Eh, straight forward would be good. I'd rather be climbing a tree than reading a book, but I suppose it can't be helped for the time being. Would you mind showing me where everything is...? This is the first time I've been in here, and I have to admit, I'm incredibly lost." She felt... well, she felt almost stupid compared to him. He hadn't been around much longer than she, and he seemed to know so much more. Well, she was determined to not feel stupid any longer, so she gestured towards the stacks of books. "Just point me in the right direction."

Yambati considered for a moment, then stood up, stretching slightly. "I'll do my best - I've really only been in the mathematics, botany, and physical combat sections, but I do think I remember seeing the Law..."
He beckoned, leading the way. "All you really need to know for basic Law is just the laws. Which means memorization, but not much more than that. That's all we did in class."
When they got to the shelves for the right, subject, he stepped aside. "Here you go..."

"Perfect. Something basic and simple to start me off... I'm just no good at classes. I'd rather be outside climbing a tree or tossing rocks into a puddle." Green eyes slid over to look at Yambati. "Must sound like I'm stupid. I'm not, I swear. I just... don't like class. Still, I'd like to be an asset to the City." She paused, and colored, just a bit. "Aaaand, I'm rambling. I think I can take it from here, if you'd like to get back to what you were doing before I dropped by to bother and distract you." Which was more than likely exactly what she had done.

Yambati really wasn't quite sure as what to do - both leaving and staying seemed rather awkward. But, in true Yambati fashion, he decided on what would make his day the most pleasant - being alone.
"Well, if you need me to show you where anything else is, don't hesitate to ask," he said, trying to seem reassuring as he headed back over to his table. He didn't bother thinking on her other statement - about not liking class - as he couldn't come up with a decent response. So he left it like that.

The Sanguine moved with purpose as he entered the Library, his long auburn braid rhythmically colliding with his lower back as his garnet red eyes scanned the tall book shelves. The folder of loose-Leaf notes he had scrawled earlier for his apprenticeship work under Dameron, rested easily in his hand, the thick welcomed texture of the papers, made him confident in his movements.
Just a few things to check on and the revised listings would be ready to submit.
Allureyan was almost arrogant in his perception that his work had been concise, accurate, and above all complete. Point of fact it had been all but simple. Of course the speed of his returned assignment would earn him acknowledgment if not praise from his mentor.
Sliding into place on a long bench that had been settled before a well lit study table he left his notes and other study tools at the table while he moved quickly to the shelves that contained the needed references.

Danna had been sitting at the work desk for what might have been hours. She still hadn't found a design for her Golem-to-be, Fallout Energy, so she decided to switch gears and work on her next Golem Commission for Lucis, for the Golem Shard Ace of Spades. She pushed back her chair and got up to get some references to hopefully inspire her with ideas for an Ace Golem. When she reached the reference shelves, however, she saw another student already looking through the files. She stood quietly a few steps behind him and waited until he had found what he wannted. Curiously, she couldn't help but peer and try to see what sort of books the Sanguine was interested in.
