((oh snap too slow))
Nadyrr looked around and caught sight of the girl Elanin called to, the nervous unsure part of him shrunk back at the idea of someone new being close. He shook visibly at the idea, he was almost glad everyone else was so jumpy maybe they would think that was what was wrong with him.

Abrid looked thoughtful for a moment before replying. "I have walked amongst them many a time. The feeling is akin to being weightless. But it is not a feeling of pleasure or comfort...it is like not existing, like ceasing to have weight or form, ceasing to matter. Their sorrow is so intense that you are easily absorbed in it. Our own Bellona, when she was but a Stage Two was lost for nearly three weeks among these folk, before we found her, shaking and weeping in the rubble." Be careful, and step strongly."
Grave straightened his spine, and put on a brave face. He wished with all his might that if he could be strong enough, he could cheer them and distract them even if only for a moment of relief. A smaller Scorched oul blew towards him, and for a moment he saw in its shimmering form the smiling face of a young girl superimposed over a howling skull. Grave felt his skin prickle and he mouthed an appology to the flitting soul that followed him along the street, stretching out from the spot where it was rooted. Grave appologized silently again and again, but for what he didn't know.

Ubel turned to look at the soul that was following Grave, trembling and as his lips parted. An apology fell from his lips as well as he turned his gaze to the rest of the souls, finding himself unable to look away.

Nadyrr stayed his feeling of uneasiness at the prospect of a new person being close and he looked again to the spirits. He wanted to make it better for them, to stop their torment. Faces of those that created these wretched creatures occasionally flickered into view, the loss and sorrow brought a deep sinking feeling to Nadyrr and his enthusiasm at least for now was sapped.

Aysel sobbed softly, extending her hand to one of the sorrowful spectres. She tried to touch it, to offer some comfort...but couldn't reach it, couldn't connect with it. She slumped, closing her eyes, and hummed quietly to try and distract herself.

Torrid drew upon his cheerful nature, finding the happiness in his heart and holding tightly to it. The lucid form of a man loomed at him, his face shifting back and forth from despair to rage; Torrid summoned his strength to give him a smile.

Padmir's Story "Padmir had reached the ruins in the heart of the Melancholia District before the elation of her adventure wore off. Suddenly, the young Choleric found herself alone, afraid and hopelessly lost. Surrounded as she was by the faint wailing rising from the cobwebs and dust, her nerve and courage began to fail her. Looking around she saw that everywhere, between the stones and amongst the rubble, images of once great Empyreans shrivelled and wavered, their forms fluctuating constantly. While they often lost a clear configuration, their features always hung in the air, swaying or writhing, their faces contorting into extremes of pain, sorrow, torment and all the ensuring madness. Each made echoes of screams and murmurs of speech. Together they produced a low humming buzz that prickled the skin to overhear. All around her the shadows and mist of the Melancholia District undulated and crawled, finding no purchase on the moss-ridden stones and slimy half-dead grass. Unsure of her way, Padmir clutched at her satchel and pressed forward through the mass of Derelict frames of once-mighty buildings."

Morrow kissed Dariyn for a moment before strolling to one of the souls. He offered his hand as a comfort.. then the other. He looked at the others, tears falling from his eyes. He lidded his eyes and looked back at Dariyn. He smiled and winked before padding through the spirits... giving them each.. even just a fraction of comfort. He kept one thing on his mind.. Dariyn... returning to him... he would not get lost.. no.. he wouldn't. He stayed close to the edge, giving as much comfort as he could.

Nadyrr in his slightly exposed emotional state imagined himself walking as the one in the story walked. His heart beat in his chest and he felt a rise of something frantic inside of him. And for a moment he didn't want to hear the rest of this story, for he had the most horrible feeling something bad was going to happen.

Kallisto remained rooted the spot, enthralled by the sight before her. There was a strange ethreal beauty to the wisps as they moved about. Before her were her predecessors, Empyreans who once walked the streets as she did but were now bound to this place forever. It struck something in her and her eyes filled up with tears. It was incredibly overwhelming to even think about it. She could understand why these spirits were so sorrowful.
Taking a few steps forward, she reached out a hand as if to touch the swaying form of one of the Scorched Souls. Waves of emotions crashed against her and she pulled her hand away as if it were burned, the agony and sorrow had felt almost tangible. Holding the hand close, she watched the others explore.

Elanin slowly let her gaze return to the spirits and she sighed. It was so saddening to see this happen to her people, as much as she wanted to cry for them she couldn't. She smiled at them and tried to send as much calming emotions as she could, as futile as it was, she wanted them to feel better, if only for a moment.
She glanced at Nadyrr and wondered if the Spirits were having the same effect on him, it seemed that he had reverted back to being shy again.

Grave watched as the little soul reached the end of her ability to stretch herself and disappeared back to her spot amongst the other souls. For a terribly moment, GRave resisted the urge to cry out in horror, to demand something be done. was this what hopelessness felt like? Grave burried his face in Ubel's hair for a moment and took several deep breaths before finding in himself the strength to carry on. Lelaus was pulling ahead of them nto the darkness, and avoiding casting a last glance behind him, Grave hurried to catch up to the professor.
