Cerissé Belcourt ( Outfit) He made a fair point. "Well, I'm sure there will be other events that you can capture with your talented eyes in the future." Like maybe me some more. But she wouldn't be too obvious about that thought. It was the alcohol making her jittery and having thoughts, not her. That wasn't her genuine interest. Nope. Not at all. As Tristan pointed out a table, Cerissé looked off towards it, picking up her attention to keep her feet firmly where she wanted them and smiling meekly. "I think that would be a good idea. I'd love a water..maybe with a little lemon." because more alcohol probably wouldn't have helped her too much. "I'll go save us a table and I'm sure you'll find me," she said, looking down at the glass she had and quietly deciding where she'd get rid of it to as she started over to the table that had been pointed out.

Aiden Hale - outfit“Why don’t we go over there.” He nodded his head in the direction on the opposite side of the room from the music since pointing was kind out of out the question with both of his hands full at the moment. Not that it was really even that loud, there was just a lot going on. Without really waiting for an objection, Aiden headed in the direction he had tried to indicate; bobbing and weaving between gala patrons all the while guarding his food, so it didn’t get knocked out of his hands and land on someone, and trying to avoid stepping on anyone’s dress. True fact, in highschool one of the guys he knew was dancing to the Macarena and when he jumped and turned the poor guy landed on the hem of this girls, Alyssa’s, dress. Her eeping shreek could be heard well over the music as she held the top of her dress up; poor guy broke one of the straps and got socked in the shoulder pretty hard. If at all possible, he didn’t want to be that guy. Upon approaching the table he set his plate down then pulled the seat out for Alexandre.

Alexandre EvansNodding his head to the others suggestion, appreciating the others thought on where they should sit, he let Aiden lead the way as he followed right behind the taller male. Moving around people, dodging and weaving around and between people he was good at this sort of thing. Used to crowds of people not seeing him, especially when he was a child, he’d gotten good at this game of sorts.
Noticing the seat pulled out for himself he set his plate down before taking his seat, taking a moment to press a light kiss to the others lips. “Thank you.” Scooting his chair back in he leaned over a bit to the chair next to himself and pushed it out for Aiden and motioned the other to sit as well. If Cass noticed that his attention left her, for another woman, it didn't show. Perhaps it was her own confidence or self assurance that it didn't matter if he was looking around because he was here with her, doing something he didn't seem keen on because she wanted it. That said volumes, even if Jericho preferred to be tall, dark, and grumpy, in her opinion at least.
The green haired woman didn't bother hiding the cheeky smirk that spread across her lips when he leaned in, clearly intending to meet her at least halfway for a kiss, before the opportunity was gone because, undoubtedly, Cassadega Bright was a god damned tease. How could she not be when he was acting like like that?
She liked the grumbling that she could feel and the way his grip on her tightened. Were she in any less control of herself, she would have shivered.
"Don't worry, considering I left him almost the moment I found you and Ilian..." Cass shrugged, wetting her lips carefully as to not disrupt her lipstick. Everything with Jericho was a came of chicken; who would push until the other broke or who would break first and pull back. She enjoyed the thrill and flutter of the chase and flirting too much to back down now.
His lips grazed her ear and her lashes fluttered, breath catching in her throat for a second before she shook her head. If her dance partner wanted to play that game, she had no issues participating. "Depends, Mr. Cross," she stretched, almost tall enough with her heels to not have to but not close enough, and let her lips brush against his jaw, "on what you have to offer me."
Cass already knew the answer, but it was fun to say anyway.
"I know, but you don't get too much time with just him. I can circle back, I see a cute waiter I think I should go pester." It didn't matter that she meant Cabhan and that Jericho probably didn't see the boy as a threat, the point was to tease and see how he reacted.
"Sounds like," she said slowly, already beginning to lead him in the steps of the dance she wanted, "you've got some learning to do, Jer. Don't worry, I'm an excellent teacher." 385

Aiden Hale - outfit“Any time.” It wasn’t long ago that Alexandre was rather adverse to any sort of public display of affection. Even going as far as holding hands was taboo in his book. Now, even light kisses were a sweet reward earned on special occasions. “Once we’re done eating why don’t we find someone to mingle with before hitting up the dancefloor for a bit? I’ll show you a few easy dance steps okay?”

"I am the luckiest man to have such a cute princess grace me with her gentle guidance." It was all humor, all flourish for the girl who he had taken as his daughter, despite their actual blood relation. Even then, it was painful, to have to lie to his little sister if only to protect her from their father. "Up we go-" Lifting her up by her arms, Elzo set Giulia on his feet with a grin, tapping one foot so she'd bounce for a bit. "There we are. I will dance slowly and we'll do small circles. Your dress will hide if we make mistakes." He winked down at her. "But then, that would be me. Princess don't make mistakes now do they?" If Giovanni could not offer her a worthy father, Elzo was determined to fill the roll to the best of his knowledge. Her voice broke the thought with a sudden clarity of what she'd called him. Not Mr. Elzo. Not 'Xanis'. Daddy. It was a dull twist of the knife that was both joy and guilt. He swallowed the sudden well of emotions in his throat and began to gentle dance with his sister-daughter. "Of course Giulia. I'll only be mean if they'd not treat you right. You deserve no less than the most perfect prince."

Rob Banks - lmao ignore this, I just love it
Never one to wish to disappoint a beautiful woman (because, really, how many had been in his life, when it came down to it?), Robert Banks wasted no time in dipping his head down and pressing his lips against hers. He wasn't worried about messing up her makeup or the way his fingers wrinkled her dress as he pulled her in against himself... or how it would look to everyone around them. Appearances were important in his line of work, but his heart was leading him this evening, not his head.
Slowly pulling away, he took her hand and led her from the dance floor, only pausing at the entrance to remove his own suit's jacket and wrap it around his date's shoulders.
His arm slid itself around her waist as they descended the stairs leading into the Gala ballroom, Rob taking a moment to enjoy the cool breeze of the spring evening. He leaned down to whisper into her ear, "You may not turn into a pumpkin, but I can't promise that we won't manage to lose any of our shoes tonight."
With a final squeeze of her waist, the two departed the Gala and towards their second affair of the evening.
Akio Yoshida - suit
As soon as she'd answered yes, the internal debate had begun. To whisk her away for at least a few more hours for lovely conversation with an extraordinarily lovely woman had been the selfish intent, but a difficult task now that he knew she hadn't come alone. Friend or boyfriend, someone would be looking out for their fair beauty by the end of the evening - so did he want to risk incurring a display of displeasure or did he want t-
She stumbled forward and despite as smooth as he'd have liked to have been in such a situation, Akio felt himself forced to take a step back himself in an attempt to catch them both. Arms moved out to instinctively take hold of the tumbling woman, pulling her against him as a result.
Glancing down, he felt his own heart skip a beat as he stared down into innocent seafoam eyes that looked back up at him. Her cheeks were flushed, he could smell the sweetness of the champagne on her breath. Their noses were almost touching and the urge to tilt himself just a bit further was an ever present, ever dangerous temptation.
Licking his lips, which had suddenly become as dry as the Sahara, he whispered softly, "No. I came alone tonight."
Mags Butler - dress
She stuffed a strawberry in her mouth, but not before dunking it - fingers included - into the chocolate fountain. The stuff would have probably tasted better with a carb wrapped around them, but she didn't mind. Much. It was free and that was the important part - no need to sift through her tips bucket back at home to scrounge up enough for some grub.
"Sure thing, darlin'. Ah'll hook you right on up with the good stuff."
She didn't have time to explain what the "good stuff" was, but that was mostly because blue eyes noticed the pair of burly looking men in formal attire heading her way. With what looked to be earpieces and a pair of disgruntled looks at her digging through the food and wearing what she was wearing.
Uh oh. Exit, stage left!
"But maybe we should uh, take a raincheck on that from tonight, yeah?"
She grabbed her plate and started shuffling towards the front door. Biased 'ol stuffy fuddyduds, probably not thinkin' her dress was good 'nough or something. Hands reached out to grab a few last minute things to pile high on her personal serving, "Drop on by the one by Adams street - Ah'll see you there, bud!"
With that, the blonde gal was hoofin' it towards the door, stumbling awkwardly with the large plate of food the entire time.
SSBrosB trying to scootch us closer to gettin' out >_>
Priscilla Stratford - dress
She felt the giddiness bubble up inside of her as her attention returned to the conversation at hand. He was shifting from business into pleasure, fingers lacing between hers as he urged her forward, apologizing and ending his conversation with who appeared to be a new business partner in the making.
The hand that had been toying with her hair left the curls, reaching out to offer the young man a simple wave as her fingers curled towards him - knowing Chase, it wouldn't be the last time she'd find herself in Trey's presence.
Black strapped heels followed him obediently, unable to resist the grin that came with the knowledge that she was getting what she wanted. As soon as they were out of earshot, she teased, "Look at you, making new friends everywhere you go. Such a popular guy."
It went without saying that they both knew how to dance - she'd been fortunate enough to steal a dance or two during prior engagements of Laralee's but tonight she had no mother figure to share Chase with. No, for at least the next few minutes, his attention was on her and his hands were wrapping around her waist and she wouldn't have asked for it any differently.
Finding their small corner on the dance floor, it took her no time at all to drape her arms around his neck in response, fingers brushing against the back of his fluffy hair. Her smile was wide and his alone - with all signs of the purple bruise that once lay across her cheek having faded away as she looked up at him.
"I'm honored you have the time for me, Mister Black. I'll have to repay the favor later to you, somehow."

Giulia Montgomery ( Outfit) She giggled, enjoying the teasing and (what she considered) flattery that Elzo gently offered. She settled her feet onto his, curls bouncing along with the rest of her ad he bounced his big feet and her skirt jostled and bounced. Tonight was an excellent night, and even here, standing on Mr. Elzo's feet, Giulia felt like a grown-up girl. How could she not? Everything had gone great. "We'll do the best dancing," she told the tall man reassuringly; "I'll count out the steps with the music, so we'll move at the same time and it will look all proper and everything. It will be our secret, and if you make a mistake, we can tell them it was- im... poov i zay shun. On one of the tv shows he said We don't make mistakes, only happy assy dents." But small circles were a great idea. Giulia was quite pleased with that one. She missed his reaction to her calling him 'daddy' as she wriggled closer, squeezing his hand with her own and pressing in closer to to the tall white-haired man. "Will you help find a Prince for Jada and Zora, and Princesses for Lucas and Aidan?" He might only be Elzo's daddy, but Mr. Michael didn't talk much about royalty. "We can use them as tests to find the perfect prince." her nod was sagely. "And you can practice meanness and not-meanness."

"If I'm suited for the job, I'll get it." The answer might have been a cop out, but it was the best he had for the moment. As much as he wanted to believe that he was a ridiculously talented photographer, he knew better than to think so highly of himself. He was good enough to make money, certainly, or he wouldn't have gotten the job with the symphony. There were a few other jobs lined up, courtesy of the connections his gracious host had.
Eventually, he'd get jobs without help he was sure, but for now, he'd take what he could get.
"Opportunities seem to present themselves when you least expect." Tristan shrugged, adjusting his suit jacket as he waited. His whole new life was courtesy of an opportunity that presented itself rather than one he went seeking. Hadn't most of his relationships been opportunities that had come along that called to something in his core and drove him forward?
Though, it was hard to say considering he could remember very little of his time with Teallite or Tourmaline outside of hazy bits here and there as they ran together.
"Stay put, at least until we get some water for you." He offered her a careful smile as he watched her head to the table, making sure she seated before he resumed his walk to the bar. 228 words and hi, i know you're looking

The look he received from Chase, assessing and considering, was more unnerving than he had expected it to be. It threw him off balance, and for a moment, he forgot all his smooth words and very nearly the whole thread of the conversation. What, exactly, the young man was assessing him for wasn’t quite clear… but it was still enough to fluster him for the first time in a while. With how much time he spent around people, entertaining them and being charming, he had almost thought he couldn’t be put off any more.
Seemed he’d been mistaken.
“Ah, um… y-yes, of course.” The stumble in his words was embarrassing and Trey struggled to push the heat down out of his face. Reaching into the inner pocket of his suit coat, the young man pulled a card of silky smooth, off-white paper, offering it between two fingers. “Please feel free to call me any time.”
It seemed with that, their little meeting was over. Chase and Priscilla were off to dance and Trey was left standing by himself, and not too upset about the chance to recover alone. At least he’d be able to claim the introduction had been a success… and he had no doubt the moment he moved, he’d find his pointedly absent mother was at his side.
Trey hummed softly to himself as he pushed his coat back and slipped his hands into his pockets. Tonight had been… interesting. He couldn’t help wondering where it would end up.

Cerissé Belcourt ( Outfit) And then Cerissé was alone. She sat at the table, the glass of Champagne pushed away from her as she patiently waited for Tristan to eventually come and find her. She wouldn't worry too long if he took a while, instead she entertained herself by watching the others who were out dancing on the floor. A young gentleman with a little girl balanced on his feet, treating her like the absolute princess he appeared to think she was (adorable, in a way), a few couples holding hands, a pair of lawyers on different ends of the room, one with a lovely lady in tow, a few people seated to eat a little.... It was nice. It was actually fairly charming and she found herself just smiling and taking it all in. Perhaps it was in the silent moments she was finding the nice things.

[ Katrina Halloran] ( outfit) The ball was a bust. Sure, there was free food and free drinks, but Katrina Halloran had spent more time avoiding people than she had enjoying everything. She'd caught a flash of bubblegum and cotton candy-- Prissy-- and darted in another direction before she could be spotted, snagging a champagne flute off of a passing tray along the way. Kat wasn't entirely sure that she could make herself play nice with her best friend's beau in public just yet and didn't want to risk causing a scene knowing damn well there wasn't anyone who would bail her out if she got picked up for starting one that night. Champagne wasn't her favorite thing to drink, she'd discovered since her twenty-first. It was better when mixed with orange juice; better yet when someone else was drinking it and she had something with more taste. That didn't keep her from tossing the contents of the flute back, dropping it off on another tray in passing as she caught a glimpse of Archer out of the corner of her eye. He seemed rather well occupied and it would be rude to interrupt... Just as rude as it would be to blow up his phone with a dozen messages while he was standing there chatting away. Tempting. Not so tempting that she wanted to risk putting a strain on their working relationship, however... Next time. Kat shifted her clutch, pondering drawing her phone out anyways just to see if she'd heard from anyone else. She didn't, however, making a beeline for the bar instead. It would be only too easy to send out texts later.... After she'd had another drink or two.

Dancing was easy.
He was well practiced in it enough and his mother had insisted on dance lessons when he had been younger. Minor ballroom, basic formal dances that would undoubtedly arise at any of her social events. Besides, it was the proper thing for a boy of his status to learn and participate in, instead of the antics he had been known to get up to when he was younger. Adrenaline junkie, they'd called him, among other things.
Though, it appeared that hadn't changed much despite the years between his teenage years and now.
"You know," Chase said, leaning in to let his mouth brush her ear as he whispered into it, "I'm charming. How else do you think I snagged you?" Hadn't he weaseled a kiss from her on their very first date? Polite enough to woo and dangerous enough to entice. It was a precarious balance he had to uphold but somehow, despite it all, he'd managed with Trey. Or appeared to, at the very least.
"Enough about other people," he suggested, though it was more of a demand for her to stop wondering about the well groomed man he looked to strike a relationship up with, a tremor of warning in his voice, "I want to focus on you." In any number of ways, but most were hardly appropriate for the situation. "I could think of a few ways, you know, about how you could repay the favor."
Maybe her dizziness had to do with something other than their dancing and the way she found that she couldn't quite breath properly. Either way, Rory didn't feel like she could bother to try and think straight as she stumbled and he moved, catching her in a way that pulled her into his space. Her hands were clutching onto his shoulders, jade colored eyes blinking up at him, words dying on her tongue when she realized their close proximity.
Akio was warm. Or, was it Rory who was warm from her drink? She didn't know, but she did know that he smelled nice. And, that she liked the way it felt to be so close.
Oh, oh, this could be so bad. She just needed to tip her head up and maybe stretch on her toes...
No. I came alone tonight.
Her response was spilling from her lips before she could even consider what she was saying. "You don't have to leave alone." Jules would freak if she left without saying anything but she didn't want to explain who Akio was or why she was suddenly very interested in not leaving with her. It sounded awkward, yeah, she wanted to avoid that. It only occurred to her, several seconds later, how her words might've come across and her fingers dug into the fabric of his jacket when she hurriedly looked away even if she didn't try and move away.
"I- oh, I didn't mean- " Embarrassment had her giggling nervously. "I mean - " She sighed, leaning in enough to brush her nose against his. "I'd like to spend more time with you." 516 words

For a moment, as he turned his back on Cerisse and the table she now resided at, Tristan wondered if leaving her alone was the wisest choice he could have made. It was enough concern to make him pause before he shook his head, slicked back hair slipping free and into his face a little bit. She had been doing just fine before he had run into her and she would be fine without him. Even in her compromised state, he had little doubt that she would shut down anyone that attempted to take advantage of her. He had seen her when she was acting professionally, before, and had little doubts that her sharpness would return when it was needed. Besides, he needed something for his nerves still. He really needed to stop letting Fiona convince him to go and do things when she couldn't come with. Or, if she did convince him, then she needed to take his phone and contact his few friends to go with him. Adjusting would be easier once he started to re-develop meaningful relationships. So, the tall and lanky man continued on his way towards the somewhat crowded bar, long legs carrying him forward and relatively thin frame allowed him to slip between the people that were leaving with their drinks and the ones still waiting without too much trouble. When he managed to get the bartender's attention he offered a weak smile before he worked. "Whiskey coke and water, please." He received a nod in return and found himself leaning up against the bar, trying to remind himself to breathe and chill as he waited for the man to return, hoping he didn't get distracted on his way back. 290 words

“It’s really no problem. I’m happy to be here. In truth I’m glad you invited me.” Isaac lead the dance by taking one step forward with his left foot one then up and to the right with his other two and finally brought his feet together three . “Heh…” he laughed nervously. “Sorry,” Isaac winced sympathetically when his toe bumped against hers. “It will take me a moment to find the rhythm.” The next step was led with his right foot back one then back and to the left with his other foot two and finally brought his right foot back into the start position three.
