When Fiore got the assignment she kind of just wanted to bang her head into the desk. She always hate when they had to pick historical figures because the fey and Dyrads didn’t really have any historical figures that were important enough to talk about. She supposed she could pick another cultures but none of the figures were resonating with her. “I guess after thinking about it for a while, I pick Lady Fidellia. She helped negotiate the treaty between below and above that reopened commerce and allowed travel between the two worlds. I picked her finally because I wouldn’t be talking here today if daydreams weren’t allowed to come to below. While both my parents are daydreams and might have technically still met and imbued, I wouldn’t have the other non-related half of my family. I think its important to eventually let go of grudges that happened in the past and move forward. Lady Fidella helped bring about such a change.” Fiore finally spoke up.

Mielle sighed and almost started tugging on some of her bangs. Who did she pick? There were just so many fascinating people, but she wanted to make it somewhat relatable to herself. The dyrad didn’t really have enough info on their famous people to give this repot and the Kirin didn’t really had names to their historical people. Aaaaaaah. Okay deep breaths. There was one famous person that while not of the same race as her, her older “brother” was part litch… so it related that way right? “I finally decided on Graven Frostfyre. He was a litch that gave the imps the land known as the Graven’s gift. I picked him because it reminded me a bit of the Dyrads sharing their home with the Fey. So much of history is fighting and taking territory that isn’t yours. Plus while it’s easy to take pity on people and other races, it’s a big thing giving away your land to a people who need a home to move somewhere else entirely. I think we’ve come along away from our warring days and its little or huge things like that… thinking about someone other than yourself” Mielle replied and then ended up blushing a bit before quickly busying herself with something else.

Hmm pick a historical figure and do a report about them? This wasn’t really too hard for Giotto. While History wasn’t his favorite subject, he at least liked to learn about it on occasion. He already knew what figure that he wanted to do. “I picked Saint Lionel as my historical figure. He was most famous for being a double agent for below during the 50 yrs war. I’ve heard from my grandparents that just being an espionage agent is really hard and takes a lot of work. So I can’t imagine the effort it must have taken to be a double agent especially as you go in knowing that if you ever get caught you are killed. Still it needed to be done and we needed information and he paid with his life for it. In summary I picked him because of my own families backgrounds.”
That would be enough right?

Was Maddie supposed to care about this sorta stuff? He really didn't. Social studies had to be the most useless of all the classes. First he was forced to read dry, dusty old text books to find some famous person who didn't care about and talk about them. It was stupid. Utterly and completely a waste of his precious time. He had to pick someone though. As much as he thought it was pointless he did want to pass. "I'm picking Rex Ilyrria of Alycone. The was something that happened called the 'Shattering' apparently that was all Ilyrria's fault. They signed a Crown treaty-thing that basically caused this great big rift with the baphomets. Basically the baphomets went from having one ruler to developing like. Their own tribes or clans or whatever. Something about mine taxes. It was really dumb. Ilyrria was dumb. But it seemed to have good results for the rest of us. Bapho culture wouldn't be what it is today without that having happened."

Nemoi hated social studies as much as the next kid. It was a subject nobody really cared about, and most people seemed to just copy that one kid's assignment and just hope they didn't get caught. Nemoi was still struggling to learn how to read, and this particular assignment left her in a bit of a tough situation. She had to pick someone out of a textbook that was a historical figure and discuss them. Nemoi picked the first name they found and started asking older students questions about them, and was better able to form their assignment. "I picked Lady Fidellia. She's the reason why trading exists between Above and Below, apparently. Why daydreams and nightmares can interact as freely as they do today. I think our world would be an incredibly different place today if trading wasn't still allowed, even when the portals were closed. I think the world is on the right path because of her."

If there was one race that Armani was fascinated by, it was the fallen. Perhaps that was why he felt rather drawn in by Saint Cassiel. "I'v decided to write about Saint Cassiel. While I definitely could have done far more extensive research on the sort of things Cassiel wrote about, he's the main reason why I picked him is because he is one of the saints of the Fallen. He is probably the reason why we know so much about Fallen history and the founding of the Wing Isle. Some races were not as lucky as to retain so much history about themselves, especially after the war. I guess Cassiel was more than just a saint, in some respects. He's unknowingly been helping Historians and is probably considered an idol among traditional fallen."

"I don't really know if I should talk about him as a 'historical figure', but ... the kumiho boy, Tomoe? He caused quite a stir, but he broke down the barrier that allowed the kumiho to join the rest of the world. I can see where traditionalists would be upset with him for imposing on their 'ways', but now so many of the kumiho are free to experience the world as they desire it. It's sort of a happy ending to an otherwise unsavoury adventure. It would make a good video game. Maybe I could make one based off Tomoe and his adventures some day ... "Mimosa paused, feeling rather thoughtful now. She would have to write up a general plot for the video game concept, but it was actually a super neat idea. Hopefully nobody was already working on it! She would have to hunt Tomoe down someday and beg him to let her make a game based off him.

Username: itsie bitsie spider Nightmare: Missy Fortune Entry: Missy sat at her desk, humming and hawing as she flipped through her social studies book. This assignment was not going to be an easy one. For one, she didn't have much of an attention span to go through a ton of information that was open to them, but she didn't have much choice! Kalad was the one who brought us the chili pepper! Being part goblin, we love how spicy they are. Hot sauce is the best! though she wasn't sure how relevant that last part was. Kalad is celebrated for food, fire, and adventure! You can't get much better than that!Missy hoped that her response was good enough as she turned in the paper.

For today's assignment, that he was eagerly, and attentively paying full attention to, Juju was suddenly more anxious than before... when the instructions were given. Oh shoot he had to given an opinion??? nervously, he flipped through his book, eyes running along the options of historical figures. Honing in on one whose image he recognized, he finally spoke up, hesitantly, "Iva of the Flood is the leader of the Willow tribe, a-and... like the other three tribe leaders, they si-signed a treaty... which brought peace to the tribes.. t-that's.. pr-pretty cool. I picked th-them cause... w-wi-llows are cool!" ok this was embarrassing!

Neatly looking through his book, Sugar Dew was enjoying reading and learning about the various heroes of their time. There were quite a few that did magnificent feats that he could admire, and want to aspire to follow. Some day... maybe he'd have his name put in the history books too for being a hero! doing something grand to save the people... Speaking of which.. his eyes landed on one person in particular who stood out to him in a big way. "Kesedriax sounds amazing! They made a treaty, and by the sound of it... they're everything I aspire to be! peaceful, courageous, strong... I want to be seen just like them when I grow up!"

Hmm historical figures, eh? Well... they were famous, and did a lot of great things... how could he pick just a single one? What a tough assignment~ Sighing softly to himself, Nereus turned his pages lethargically, eyes skimming lazily, spare hand twirling and combing his beautiful locks in an idle fashion. Oh but hang on.... The Naiad's, a species he admired greatly for they were one with water! Just as he wanted to be~ well this was an easy one. "The Queen of the Naiad's~ They are the ruler of such a beautiful population, that I wish to be just like~"

Ooh history, how fun! He loved learning about the past, and how it effected what was now the present! happily reading up on a few important figures listed in the various species sections, he "oooh'd" and "ahhh'd" at a few of them, eyes widening and pupils shrinking with his reactions. Oh but this one! This one really caught his attention! Popping his little hand up, tail tip twitching eagerly, he announced his chosen icon, "Lady Fidellia! they helped make it so that Daydreams and Nightmares could see each other again! That means more people to be friends with~!" the blissfully innocent little hybrid chimed oh so sweetly.

Courting. Now that wasn't something Gaius really thought about. So when it was announced as the topic of their lesson today, it sent the hallow into really delving deep in his mind castle to seek out what it meant to him. Hm...~ It was a fascinating thing, he had to admit, and he found himself intrigued as he read the various methods that were used species to species. But the one that really caught his eye, naturally, was the Dryad's method. "I like the Dryad's way of courting. They exchange flowers, which each have their own meaning to them. As a lover of plants, I'd say this is the most romantic way to go about expressing yourself to someone." after all, flora said so much without even needing to use vocal speech.

Oh what a fun topic! Ezekiel was not one to turn down a challenge, nor deep thinking required practices. And this subject was not something he had shied away from in the past, finding the study of others to be quite entertaining. Of course, the most logical way of going about courting made the most sense to him, thus, he didn't have to take up too much time in declaring his chosen species, "The way in which Litch's go about courting another, or others, is the most practical. It holds both means of keeping ones emotions protected by gaining friendship with the other of interest first, if need be. Or being straightforward in approach, so as to make their intentions known. Both methods are very acceptable and logical."

Ziya adored the idea of courting~ As one who flirted, and oogled to his hearts content, shamelessly, he often daydreamed of the day that he would be courted. Surely it would be by a big strong fella who could see just how absolutely beautiful and desirable Ziya was. Naturally~ As he perused through the various ways in which courting went about, wrinkling his nose at some, and pursing his lips at other, the nonchalant hybrid raised his brows with interest as he landed on the Kirins. Oh yes this was quite nice~ "I know I'd personally enjoy the way the kirins go about it. I would get lots of beauty products, jewelry, expensive items... not only that but have some pampering done to you~ what's not to like? That's how I want to be courted, and it's the best way to be courted, for sure~"
