Danger, danger, danger run run run RUN TRESPASSING RUN RUN RUN!
The words were flooding his mind and he winced, hand going up to his head to try in vain to stop whatever it was, trying to focus as the fog began moving away, swirling toward one location and...a creature appeared, roaring, Yin's hands instinctively clamping over his ears. Glancing up...Alexander was moving toward it, and they were supposed to...it was too confusing to really think about what they were doing, but they were going to be safe. Protection, even if that was all he could offer. It would have to be enough.
He was getting tired of all of this fighting, but at least there was a clear enemy. He started forward, faltering when Alexander went down, wanting to hold back but...no. He plunged forward, hands reaching out to rake his claws into any bit that he could.

It was times like this, that the moon trainee really wished he had a long ranged weapon. Having gauntlets and being so close to something of this size, where it could easily crush you with its pinky was not a comforting thought. But again, he had little choice in the matter.

Once he saw the familiar blond, Wilson broke out into a familiar smile and waved at the other moon hunter. “Ryan! You’re okay. I was pretty worried since we separated way back when.” Then he looked over at Saya and nodded politely. “I’m glad to see you’re okay. I’m alright as I can be at the moment,” he answered. Slowly, he lifted his gaze toward his division leader and gave him a quizzical look. Kill? That was different from the past. When had Caelius ever ordered for them to kill—
His weapon was already out and summoned soon as he heard the shout and the crowd began to descend into chaos. Wilson ducked to avoid any wild hits while he attempted to quickly don his mask and ready his cannons, but once he was ready and everything became green, he had lost Ryan and Saya. “Ryan?” he called out confusedly. “Saya?” For a majority of the time, the death hunter found himself disobeying Caelius’ orders and not attacking the students. At the moment he really just wanted to reunite with the two moon hunters so he wouldn’t have to fend the Halloween creatures on his own.
And then the ‘boss’ appeared. If he had ears they clearly would have been flattened against his head. “What in the…” He wince and tried to cover his ears to dampen the loud yell. Wilson shook his head, stared at the creature once more than aimed his cannons at it. It was a good thing Gramps could find at mid-range. He fired off a couple of shots, which dissolved into a flurry of green gas before he began to run around in search of the moon pair once more.
“Saya?! Ryan?!”

[ENTERING]
The first step was faltering. Kiwi could feel the voices murmur, something almost seeming to tug him up the stone steps, but he stumbled down them carefully. The farther he walked, the quieter it became. New voices began to fill the silence, some he vaguely recognized, others that were entirely strange. It was a moment before he realized these weren't illusions. Others were here. But who?? ... More Hunters, Students?? Clansmen he hoped.
The descent was slow and long. It seemed an endless time he walked, down and down in a steady spiral, when he at last, his foot settled on solid stone.
Horsemen, Students, and Hunters. It seemed everyone was here. Kiwi tried to take a step back, when he realized his hand was touching solid stone. Startled he turned; the passageway was gone. And, he noted, holding his greyed right hand out to the wall. They were exactly the same. A shudder passed through him, and Kiwi anxiously tugged his bangles down across his hand. Instead, he stared into the crowd.
There were a few students he vaguely recognized. Hunters were all the same to him, only fodder. Albeit dangerous fodder. And ahead, was that Soren and-
He took a step forward, but something chilling indeed stopped him dead in his tracks.
"Home"
The power in that single word was unimaginable. It shook him to his very core, screaming aloud something Kiwi felt all the whispers had been dying to express. Mist swirled unheeded about his legs, and ahead the room blazed, cold and pale, shifting suddenly-
The room was dark. The only light filtered from little luminescent orbs floating through the gloom. The steady drip of water across stalactites drifted down the caverns, giving Kiwi something to focus on.
Beside him, a bundled form rustled in the sheets, long white tresses falling out as amber eyes turned sleepily on him. "Big brother, are you going to rest?? ... We have an important task tomorrow."
Her voice caught his attention, and he turned to smile softly to her. "I'm sorry, Mara. I can't sleep, this is all too exciting." His hands squeezed hers gently, and he leaned forward on his elbows, staring into the large, dark cavern they slept in. Even this far from the communal halls, the low chatter and laughter of the elder clansmen echoed, soft and soothing. But for some reason he couldn't calm this feeling of excitement.
His very first FEAR hunt was tomorrow. He had spent months training, planning, just for this one moment.
Beside him, the girl smiled sweetly to him and snuggled back into her covers. Tomorrow was an eventful day for her as well. Mara had been studying hard to become a sage for the clan. She had been apprenticing beneath one of the best for longer than Kiwi could remember, really. Moths fluttered in both their stomachs.
"D ... do you think we'll make it??" he asked softly, staring out across the cavern.
The girl was silent a moment, and when she replied, her voice was full of warmth. "We will." Her tiny fingers squeezed feebly against his. "You'll make the best colony soldier the clan has seen, I'm sure of it! Just forget those silly foals and their lies." A moment's silence, then-
Her sudden light laugh made him turn his head. "... What is it??" he asked, an eager grin already forming on his face.
"Nothing," she smiled quietly, and her voice softened. "Just, you know ... tomorrow I may very well be a sage, and you'll be a soldier. ... Do you think we'll still see much of each other?? ..."
She had a fair point. Colony Soldiers were often busy patrolling the dwelling or harvesting FEAR. Sages on the other hand, were often cooped away with their books, much like the alchemists to their brews. But this was Famine, and here all worked as one. He squeezed the girl's hand tighter, and smiled.
"Yes," he answered. "We are Famine, Mara. We will always be together."
He knew it was true. He was as much a part of Famine as the little girl beside him. He would never be alone with a family like this. This was his home.
He pushed himself back to his feet, staggering, clumsy, but alright. Of course, falling down in the middle of battle was rather embarrassing, but he had far more important things to be concerned with. Like the fact that Yin had just moved in front of him and was attacking the giant beast.
Pale eye narrowed, the zomboil lurched forward and back into motion, coming to a stop near Yin as he pulled back a fist and then threw it forward, putting weight and power behind the blow.
That was much, much better.

Danny proceeded down the stairs. Slowly at first, but she heard the echoes of a battle and was quickly running down as fast as she could.
The scene unfolding in front of her was complete madness. Boogeymen, students, teachers, hunters, RED?! It was too much. Much too much.
Danny decided to focus on the big things first. The biggest thing in the clearing? Red. A thought struck her. Was Rikki out here? Roch? She scanned the surrounding area for them. Too many shapes out there, way too many for her easily distracted mind.
"Guys?" she shouted. Of course no one responded back. They were fighting their own battles after all.

Ariane had only been in this... Place for a while, trying to relocate her missing teammates; there were Halloween creatures - both students and horsemen - around, but she somehow managed to avoid coming to blows with them... Which was helpful, considering how they were very suddenly confronted with a bigger problem as a dark shape - a creature - rose from the fog as it parted.
She sighed, grip on the chains of her weapon tightening; she should have seen it coming. It was not a mission to the Haunted House without some sort of a giant monster attacking them.
Drawing Kintama back, she flung it at the attacker with whatever strength she had left in her, from all the walking. It seemed to hit something before making its way back to her.

Danny looked around, still finding no one. She was going to move, but a tremor stopped her. Okay, Red clearly wanted her attention. She needed to take out the insanity monster if she was ever going to find her friends.
So a fireball to the insanity's face it was. It actually felt somewhat good to finally get to fight something. Being jerked around by the insanity acid trips weren't so fun. Getting to hit it back? Now that was fun.

Kiwi rolled onto his back, wings outstretched across the silky blankets and pillows piled beneath him. Quietly he stared up to the cavern ceiling far above, watching the stalactites, illuminated by the glowing lanterns circling the room.
Something shimmered briefly in the air. A haze, a mist ...
Insanity.
The word flickered into his mind before he even had time to blink, and when he glanced up again, his eyes only met the cavern wall.
"... Did you see that, Mara?? ..." he whispered softly. " ... Mara?? ..."
Slowly his eyes pulled away, not quite willingly. Mara was nestled snugly in her blankets, now sound asleep. Kiwi's brow knitted, and he returned his eyes to the ceiling. What did I just see?? ...
The more he stared, the more he became aware of the thick white mist, swirling around him, tugging at his mind, ushering him back, Home. Homeeeeee.
No.
Kiwi closed his eyes a moment. This wasn't right. Mara was gone. She had told him that, told him he couldn't come ... He struggled to hold onto that, to believe it, to feel the ground beneath his feet, rumbling now, the air cool and full of-
Homeeee ... His eyes creased, as he felt Mara's hand in his. It was so fragile but warm, comforting. Mara was here. He wanted to be with her, just a little longer ... just a little more ... Please Mara ... and his eyes fluttered open again. The cavern sparkled and gleamed dimly above him.
This is Home, he acknowledged with a contented sigh, his arms sinking into the pillows and blankets beneath him, her hand held firmly between his fingers.
There was something almost relaxing about just...fighting something. Something that was not really called into question, a creature turned on them all, surrounded by fog, the voices in his head telling him how dangerous that this thing was, that he should just run while he could. He would not run though.
It was hard to focus and he found himself just giving in to the fight, hands morphing at his wrists into something much more mantis, claws really and he continued to rake out at the creature, lighter blows from the slender limbs but continuing to target the beast. There were no words, only fighting. Just...doing what he could.

Soon enough, Zhi got a chance to become a part of the memory, a small grin spreading over his lips as his little cousin made his way towards him, their grandma following behind slowly. He crouched down, giving the little horseman a tight hug before drawing back.
"Zhiqiang, Zhiqiang, hi!" The little boy greeted, all smiles and excited bouncing, "Today's the day you're going to prank Tseng, right? You promised I could help!"
Zhi laughed, reaching out to ruffle the boy's hair affectionately as their grandma came up behind them. The old horsewomen sighed in exasperation, arching her brows at both of them. "Pranks? Really, Zhiqiang, shouldn't you be doing something more productive with your time?"
Pushing himself back up to his feet, Zhi reached down, swinging his little cousin up and into his arms. "Oh, don't worry so much, grandmother. That stuff can wait! It doesn't hurt to have some fun every now and then, right?" When he was only greeted by another exasperated sigh, the conquest horseman grinned, taking this as a sign that their grandmother--although disapproving--would not stop them from having their fun.
The memory carried on just as he remembered it...but sometimes, when his cousin would ask him a question, another voice would answer before he would have a chance to. Neither his little cousin nor his grandmother seemed to notice however, accepting the reply as if it were his own.
Of course, after the third time it happened, he finally realized that the voice was his own, an echo of his exact words during the time that this scene had taken place.
All it did was serve to remind Zhi that this was just a memory. This wasn't his life--not anymore...though a part of him, a part that he felt a little guilty about, admitted that it would not mind staying in these memories forever. He missed his home, and he missed them.

He hurried down the stairs, taking them faster as the noise of fighting got louder. There was so much going on, and by the time he reached the last step he was thoroughly confused.
Too much sensory input. Too much chaos and too many bodies.
He glanced around wildly, and he could have sworn he heard Danny's voice at one point, but he couldn't be sure. With little other direction to head, he cupped his hands around his lips and shouted, "Danny?"
