"In a manner of speaking, yes." Grencia afforded a light shrug as she changed the subject from the issue of her past. Any excuse to stop the tears, to find a sense of comfort. If she truly remembered everything then she would know that he shared her memories and didn't need to have them explained again - some were a little too painful to relive as it was.

"Apparently the herd lands of the Islagiatt border on the barren lands not far from here."
Motioning towards the portion of the mountain slopes that were often ravaged by bad weather, he made it clear on no uncertain times that it had it's name for a reason, "Said lands are dominated by a mutant by the name of Azumoth, he resembles a Kalona but appears to be far more honourable." The mutant hadn't spoken of his past or heritage, he had simply provided aid and Grencia hadn't refused.

"Perhaps the hawks sighted me when he was carrying me to shelter, I assure you, he caused no harm."

"And the bandages?" She had something to distract her now, she wanted to know everything that he had done in his disappearance. Once again in the accompany of another soquili she grasped and clung to it like a desperate child. It was just a little different now though, while she would have tolerated the stallion before...she found she simply wanted him to be there and she genuinely wanted to know.

More to the point, she was genuinely concerned.

"My two-legger would have helped you, does that mean that this 'Azumoth' has a two-legger of his own?" She couldn't picture a Kalona-like beast with a human at his side, it would look extremely unusual in her opinion.

"Ah, no..." Grencia shifted his weight somewhat, catching a glimpse of the silhouette of his human in the distance. Carefully picking her way across the rocky slope, she kept one hand firmly wrapped around her bag while the other grasped at various boulders for support - lucky for Grencia that she was very good at dealing with the slopes.

"I have a human of my own," He motioned towards the human with a bob of his head, "The female that arrived at your home roughly the same time as I did, she came on foot while I flew." He smiled fondly, for he shared a closed bond with her in the same manner that Achak shared a close bond with Yei.

"She called for me the moment I cried out, she has not left my side."
He released a small sigh at this, the attention had been rather smothering for the stallion that enjoyed freedom but it had been necessary. "She is the one who strapped me in this manner, I feel like a Turkey." He confessed, cracking a smile in the process.

Yei wasn't entirely certain what a turkey was but perhaps in time she would discover. It seemed that it was a derogatory term though, or something the Wind would rather not be. Even so, she mentally thanked the female now crossing the slopes beneath them, keeping her gaze firmly on the woman who had saved the life of the stallion now at her side - it seemed that through these humans, the spirits definitely revealed they cared.

If Yei hadn't believed in miracles, she would have by now. That being said, she had always been religious in some form, this simply confirmed exactly how she felt about the powers that lay around her. Completely unseen, completely hidden from the view of mortal eyes but they were there and they made their mark.

Thank you.

She couldn't say the words to the human and be understood, but she now realised why Achak had opted to share his teepee with the woman, he had seen something that the mare hadn't.

"So how long until it can come off?"
She leant over to inspect his injuries more closely, her nostrils flaring slightly at the musky scent of his coat. A strange smell, evidently he had been in an enclosed place for quite some time and had developed a more earthy scent - so strange on one with wings.

"...And can you see with that eye?" She asked hesitantly.

"No, I can't." It had distressed him to begin with. It had left him stumbling, blind on one side and terribly vulnerable. Luckily, his human had managed to regain control of the bleeding and in doing so, the wounds were clearing slowly but surely. Granted, there would forever be a permanent slash right in his eye and the glow emitted from it was somewhat brighter to compensate for the loss...but the wound didn't actually look that bad.

He supposed the time away, the time to heal and the tender care had ensured that the wounds closed in a tidy fashion. He couldn't his lucky stars for this, repeatedly.

"As for when it comes off, I think the ones around my head and legs will come off shortly but the strap..."
He wasn't entirely sure and glanced towards his wing briefly, "I think that it may need a little more time." He gave a shrug, seemingly accustomed to his attire by now and cracked a lopsided smile.

"I'm healing up rather well to be honest."

"I'm sorry." Yei repeated, although she knew there was no need to apologise. It seemed right to express sympathy in such a manner. To lose one's sight was a terrible thing, it left one side very vulnerable and she wasn't entirely certain how a guardian would deal with such a disability. It was then and there, as she looked up at the lopsided grin that she found a way to honestly repent for her poor manners.

He may have a two-legger to tend to his wounds, but she was going to be his missing eye, well, on the ground at least. Or rather, she would be his eye if he'd have her...she wasn't going to force anything. Losing herself to her own thoughts, she fell silent again, the delicate frown lining her features as she contemplated how to address her request or offer.

"Well at least you're still standing, that's a start...we'll just have to find someone to sit on your shoulder so they can watch the side you can't see!"

"Really?" Grencia thanked his lucky stars that she was at the side where he had vision and offered a slight smile, "And here I was, hoping that you would have already applied for the position." Granted, he had his familiar, a mouse that could guide him but mice were odd creatures who preferred to spend most of their time flitting about and tending to their own business.

Not that he minded, it was the perfect excuse and he wasn't about to allow a certain female to drift away from him again - now he had her at his side, he was going to keep her there fore as long as physically possible. Granted, he wasn't entirely certain that he could make her his, but he could keep her here for a little while at least.

"But, if you do not want the position then...I suppose I could always ask another."

"NO!" Yei cursed (mentally of course) at her own eagerness but she liked this, she was so close to him and the odd sense of safety and companionship that came with it. It was now that she had begun to wonder whether or not this was what Paramekia and Cloud had left for, perhaps when they had found their mates they had found this type of closeness? She almost felt like she didn't need to hide while he was near, that he would protect her whether or not she wanted to maintain her confident visage.

"No," Her voice was a little softer now, taking deep breaths to regain her composure she shook her head and offered a somewhat embarrassed smile, "I'll do it, it's no trouble and it means I can do something more constructive with my time." Another breath and she continued, "After all, wandering around a mountain can get terribly boring when alone and you need another said of eyes, so..." She was babbling now, she couldn't help herself and feared that her constant chatter would only make things worse.

So she had humiliated herself, probably seemed desperate...

"Well, that's settled then." Grencia appeared pleased and by no means prepared to laugh at her protest. Rather, he savoured the sudden response, it served to bolster his confidence in terms of how the mare pictured him. Perhaps in time there would be an opportunity for him to make her his own, but for now, the fact that she wanted to be nearby was enough for him to smile at.

It brought him comfort, while he had received offers in his herd across the mountains they had never come close to her. He had been completely captivated as a young stallion, her smile had brightened his day and while he had questionable hobbies he had always one day hoped to have the courage to take her and only her. Eventually he had matured, drifted away from the seduction of females and had thrust himself more firmly into his role as a guardian but he had never really lost that dream - that little daydream that allowed him to ask 'what if?'.

"Although I have to admit, I always thought you did much more constructive things than walk about all day, you've gone down in my estimations."
He teased softly, although his tone was serious. He wanted to see her reaction, the coltish nature in him just wanted to see.

"Have I?" She sounded genuinely alarmed and her ears pricked, her expression became troubled and it was only after she caught sight of that twinkle in his eyes that she pulled a face. She didn't appreciate it when people did things like that, but it harked back to the times when they had been young and he had always done that - to mares and stallions alike, he had mastered the art of sounding serious when he clearly wasn't.

"Don't do that." She mumbled, once again embarrassed for being caught flat-hoofed. Nevertheless, as she continued to watch how the expressions on his face changed and how his eye seemed to glow at various intensities to emphasise his emotions...she couldn't really stay angry for long.

That being said, as she turned her gaze back towards the Barrens and the dark clouds forming across it she was all too aware of the fact that said poor weather would be coming their way shortly, "The weather is turning," she observed and while she wasn't fond of the weather, it brought her great comfort to say such simple words following the sight.

"Let's go home, Grencia."

"Hmm." The small smile flickered onto his lips and it was with a slight nod that he slipped after the mare. Glancing back only briefly at the Barrens and the location in which the mutant had saved his life, he could only silently thank him for the words of wisdom. It had been the mutant who had encouraged him to return, to try again and to just see whether or not things were meant to be.

One day, Grencia would have to visit him again and thank him.

For everything.

"Do you think if I nudged him hard enough, your human would let me sleep in his teepee for a while?" He mused as he matched step and began to make the climb to the sheltered area where their teepee lay...
