Dinotigermon and Alex both gasp as the cloak of energy that had previously been surrounding them dissapates into binary. "What?"
Their connection is broken as their concentration shifts, and Dinotigermon is forced to try and escape without the added power from Alex.
(Pausing to roll) Goodbye NEO cool
Luckily, he catches a foothold on the ground, and quickly leaps vertically. the battle is not over.
Alex takes a moment to catch his breath before closing his eyes and concentrating.
Dinotigermon can feel Alex trying to reconnect and closes his eyes in turn. With a shock, their bond is reforged. Dinotigermon is ready to fight again, but instead of battle lust, all he feels is deep sadness in regret. Dinotigermon allows his consciousness to regress so that he could get a better fix on what was suddenly troubling Alex.
Feeling the power left to him by Dinotigermon Alex allows his consciousness to take control over both their bodies. "Kazu!!!!!!"
Dinotigermon leaps high in the air and lands a bit further away from Kazu.

In the background, he can hear NEO attacking Chaosmon and Omnimon.
Alex jumps off of his back and kneels next to Kazu and Banchouleomon. "No...No.. He didn't do anything wrong. I haven't been here long enough to make many friends, but after Dinotigermon he was the first I ever made. Now, he's gone too. I-I can't! Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!!"
Green sparks of electricity start to zigzag around him, and the familiar green energy starts to rise off him again. Alex stands up and climbs back on Dinotigermon's back. The two of them re-power their bond in a moment, and the green energy flares up around them again, but it isn't wild like before; It flows off them in the form of an aura.
"NEO! You are not the future! The future lies in the heart of all those willing to fight for it. Believe it or not, but the future lies withing people like us, but you-you used and manipulated us and almost stole that away! You had us do things that we never thought we'd ever do. We did bad; even terrible things, but that's because you had us believe that it was all we could do."
Alex pauses and stares at his hands as if they are stained with blood.
"I admit... that we did it with relative ease and rarely questioned ourselves, but this is not what it was all for! Our evil deeds were not meant to fuel your power. Those deeds were meant to be paid for, and they have. With every death here, we've payed for our misdeeds. So if we lose to you today, then we'll actually be doing more damage to the digital world than before. The only way we can truly repent is to stop you!"
The area around Alex and Dinotigermon starts to break apart as their power rises to even greater heights. "I shall give my life to repentance soon enough, but for me to do that you cannot exist!"
Alex and Dinotigermon's power peak at their maximum power, and there is an explosion of sound as they break the sound barrier just by jumping. They aim for the head of NEO's impossibly large form. "NNNNEEEOOOO!!! Take our final Highland Fang!!!"
(I couldn't come up with a suitable defense)

NEO stood before the oncoming attacks, not worried in the slightest. His hand stretched forward, the attacks halting in place. Why must they continue to waste my time. He asked himself, his mind filling with questions. They are fighting so hard for nothing, they know they cannot win. Is it because they can't afford to lose? NEO froze, that wasn’t his thought. He looked forward the attacks were still coming. The other voice filled his mind again. You have promised to destroy them, their friends, and all that you could. How can you expect them to ignore this. Because they are not able to beat me! Now show yourself! Neo roared at the voice, his focus turning inwards, the source inside his own head.

Draco smiled as he was found, the tamer standing in the space inside of NEO. “Hi.” Draco’s purple hair waving forward in the imaginary wind his hands behind his head as he grinned at NEO. “Did you expect me to stay quiet and let you steal my body?” NEO stared forward, this was impossible, this human was stealing his power, those attacks would destroy him at this rate. “What are you doing?” NEO asked.

Draco shrugged. “I am just doing all that I can. You stole something of mine, and so I am taking something else back. It is just equivalent exchange.” Draco stepped forwards. “But that isn’t the real question. It is why are you destroying anything?”

NEO stopped, his mind processing the question. Why was he doing this? “Because it is what is needed to be done. This world is corrupt. There is nothing but war and hate, tamers fighting over nothing. I am going to remove this stain.”

Draco chuckled. “That is the lamest reason I have ever heard. You are going to destroy the world because it is corrupt? This world isn’t corrupt, it is filled with both dark and light. These tamers destroyed a lot, yet they are standing as one, forgiving past actions to destroy the true evil. Those who cannot forgive. You. You have been corrupting the world, you have been destroying it. And you are the one who has decided that those who care about each other are evil.” Draco smiled a little, his hands moving down by his side. “Think it over. You do have a second chance.”

Back outside of NEO a second had passed before the God Digimon shimmered, the digimon getting thrown to the side, a new figure in his place. Draco had a change to feel the cool air around him before the joined effort of Liger and Alex tore him apart, not even a spec of blood escaping their attack. The only thing left of him was his arm, the chrome digizoid just surviving the attack.

NEO watched the foolish actions, wasn’t that tamer’s goal to see him defeated? NEO looked out at the fragments of the digital world that were left floating around. Maybe this was a flawed idea. He smiled a tiny bit, his body glowing, the memories flying from him. “I guess I should wait and learn more about these bonds.” His last words lost to the sounds of the digital world returning, continents smashing together. Endless Mountain floated above this all, waiting for the world to finish fixing itself. The tamers who had been lost started to return, the 1s and 0s reforming back to their original form.

Black... There was nothing. No sound, no smell, no feeling. Kazu floated in the abyss of death. His mind slowly pulling away from him. He tried to think happy thoughts but emotion had long gone. All he could remember was a promise... But even that was begining to lose meaning, what was a promise anyway?

A light suddenly appeared. It was in the shape of the number 0.
A second light drew up next to it in the shape of the number 1.

Hundreds of numbers flooded Kazu's vision. Vision? It was back! The light hurt his eyes. Hurt? Feeling restored! It roared as it filled every crevice of death's abyss. Roared? His hearing! Kazu felt a tugging sensation as his body was pulled upwards out of the pit. He felt free, like he was flying!

Kazu's eyes snapped open. He was on the mountain-top. A burning sensation was afflicting his arm and leg. Looking down his blood-stained clothing he saw his arm and leg, surrounded by 1's and 0's regaining their shape, cracking and snapping back into position. He howled in pain as the final adjustments were made. He flopped to the ground, watching the numbers fade away... He was alive.

A chorus of voices erupted around him as all his partners leapt from his digivice and glomped onto him.
"Guys!"
"KAZU!"
Tears flooded Kazu and his partner's eyes as they hugged. Veemon, Chibomon, Mermaimon and BanchoLeomon all gathered around him squeezing him tightly. Piedmon, looking on at the Ancient Mountain smirked to himself before leaving to another part of File Mountains. Even within Kazu's mind Zerimon, Chibomon and Myotismon stopped their squabbling to give Kazu some respite.

A strange feeling overcame Kazu. One of the memories that had scattered approached him. It was the Nature Spirits memory, the one that the Knights had won when his Ex-Veemon had digivolved for the first time into Paildramon after a nearny DNA tablet granted the power to advance. Paildramon had gone full force against the Z'dGarurumon who was guarding it along with the Digimon of his fellow Tamers. The Memory floated down towards Kazu. He held out his hand and watched it rotate there in his palm.
"I'll protect you. We can be friends till the day we both fade. Like Veemon, Chibomon, BanchoLeomon and Mermaimon. Like Alex and Lance and Kyo and even Jax who is gone now. As your friend I promise I'll never allow a catastrophe like this to ever happen again. So long as I live and breath, that my heart beats and my eyes can see, I will make sure that you remain safe, that no harm will befall the Digital World, or indeed any world, due to these memories. I realise now that destroying the memories would be like destroying you. And I cannot do that. You only protected yourself, thats all any of the guardians did. For that you deserve a full life. And, if you'll let me, I'd like to offer that life to you. I cannot promise that there won't be conflict. But if there is then we'll face it together, all of us, as a team."
Kazu took a deep breath,
"Will you accept us as friends?"
The Memory continued to mindlessly spin for a few seconds. As if Z'dGarurumon was thinking about Kazu's words. It stopped spinning. A voice rang out to Kazu,
"Hah! You say a full life! So long as you let me go wild every now and again then I couldn't care less! I may not be able to maintain my Z'dGarurumon form outside of this space, but I swaer I can still pack one hell of a punch! Reckless battling is what I live for! But... Your words ring some truth to them. To have friends for a lifetime... Is that possible? I'd like to find out. Consider me your friend, your ally and I too shall grant you the same prestige."
Kazu nodded and grinned.
"Of course!"
"Then it is settled! Kazu Matsumoto! Take good care of the Nature Spirits Memory! And consider yourself one friend up!"
The Memory glowed brightly before vanishing in a beam of light into Kazu's Digivice. The normally red highlights of the D3 shone as the Nature Spirit Memory entered it. It turned a dark green colour and the image of a Lion appeared in the middle of the screen before shrinking and popping into the top right. Veemon, Chibomon and BanchoLeomon felt a jolt of power. As if the Nature Spirit Memory was calling to their base instincts. Kazu smiled, he felt different somehow. Like he had more of a purpose in life. His voice seemed different to, nothing major, just more confident, more forceful.
"We did it..."

After a few minutes of rejoicing Kazu sighed. He got to his feet and looked out across the peak. All of the Tamers who died in battle were being revived like he was. He smiled as Kiro, Kyo, Lance, and the rest were brought back. Suddenly a thought hit him, he looked around in a flustered panic.
"Th-that means! Alex!? Alex where are you! You beat him right! Where's that other guy who attacked us? Are we safe?"
His eyes scrambled around until he saw the two victors standing triumphantly. More tears welled up when Kazu saw his friend in one piece.
"Oh man... I thought I'd never see you again."
Kazu jogged towards Alex arm extended for a highfive. He'd pull Alex into a hug too.

Darkness that was all that was left. "A-am I died?" Kyo asked as he floated through the darkness. "Not exactly" a voice said Kyo knew that voice. It was the same voice that gave him Arbormon. "Wait so I'm not dead?" Kyo asked the voice "It's more like Limbo" the voice giggled. Kyo wasn't in a laughing mood. "Oh get over yourself," the voice said The digital world still needs you." Kyo turned his head in curiosity. "What?" He asked. At that moment Kyo heard another voice not the first one but still familiar....Marcus! It was Marcus and he was fight to save him. "M-Marcus" "See your still needed" the voiced Giggled once more. At that moment A burst of light pierced the darkness. "Go" the voice said Kyo looked to were he thought the voice was coming from "thank you" he said entering the light."

In a Blink of an eye Kyo was gone. This should have been the end of his tale but the digital world had more planned for the Green Thumb Tamer. Bits of ones and zeros rushed to the Endless Waste each falling into its proper place. The number kept rushing until the outline of a boy formed. The blue data swirled causing the wind to blow through the waste. The code settled and Kyo Roji burst forth from the data. Air rushed to fill Kyo's lungs, light caused his eyes to dilate, the temperature caused his skin to tingle. Kyo was alive once again.

Kyo stood up and smiled at all of the tamers that were now back to their normal selves. Marcus, Kiro, Kazu, Draco, they were all back. Glancing down at he suit he noticed he was covered in dust "Gah!" he cried as he dusted himself of. From were he stood he could see the whole digital world for once everything was back to normal, well as normal as the digital world could be. Kyo looked to Marcus "Marcus!" he yelled as he talked his friend to the ground. "Thanks for saving me." He said wrapping his arms around the Best Master. "Thanks."

At that moment the wind on the mountain picked up. Dancing in the wind as as small light blue ray of light, the memory of the Wind Guardians finally returns to Kyo Roji. As the small beam lands in the boy's hand, it bursts into a small downy of feathers, leaving a hexagon-like shape with the image of a bird on its cover. "I will protect you forever" Kyo said smiling at the prized item.

Alex cannot believe his eyes as NEO retreats. He is about to call back to his foe, but stops himself as the binary world they seemed to be trapped in starts to reassemble itself into the digital world once again, and not only that, but also the tamers who were seemingly obliterated and their digimon start to reassemble as well. Even Kazu whose body had been worked over pretty bad is standing again. It looks like a miracle.
Dinotigermon breaks off their attack and lands securely on the ground. "How is this possible?"
Alex wipes a stray tear from his right eye and smiles at the welcoming sight. Even though NEO had done so much damage, he just as easily repaired it, and not just the damage he caused, but also the damage they had caused during their battles with the Ancient Spirits. "I don't know, but I think I don't need to."
Remembering NEO, Alex turns around to behold his gradually fading form.
Dinotigermon does likewise and questions the creatures existence. "What will he do now?"
Alex responds promptly. He is suddenly not worried about NEO's existence anymore. "Once again I don't know, but I'm pretty sure if he ever shows up again, it will be to a marvelous and beautiful digital world. Just the way he left it."
He suddenly hears a voice calling his name. It sounds familiar, but also kind of alien. It seemed to have some kind of power in it as well. Alex turns and is surprised to see the voice belonged to Kazu. The pain of losing his first human friend still hangs with him a bit even though he knows that everything worked out fine. He jovially highfives Kazu while responding. "Oh, hey! I was wondering when you were going to get off the ground. Are you..okay? Being reconstructed from binary cannot be natural."
Images of dying tamers flood his memory again, but he quickly replaces it with the image he was beholding now. Seeing the smiling faces of all the tamers lifts his heart.
Sadly Alex knows this will all go away once he leaves the digital world. Sure things worked out, but he will always feel guilty about what he did as Jax and ShadowSeraphimon. So, as one of its saviors he knows that it is in the digital worlds best interest in someone like him left and never returned. Who knows, maybe he could show this amazing place to his brother when he gets back home. He wouldn't want his digimon to become lonely.
Getting back to Kazu, Alex embraces his friend heartily. "Looks like everything worked out for the best."

He is interrupted as the digimemories start to swirl around him.
Dinotigermon jumps backwards and growls, and Alex kind of wants to as well as he staggers back a couple feet. "What? What is this?"
After hearing NEO speak, Alex curiously looks at each floating digimemory, and selects one. "Well, I guess I'll choose the virus busters memory, because it reminds me of a video game I used to play."(Talking about one of the Megaman NT warrior series of games where you take on the roll of a virus buster called Megamon and his human NetOperator, Lan who saves the net from troubling viruses and evil people)
The digimemory of the virus busters shines brightly and a form is released from it.
Alex has to shield his eyes from directly looking at it, but he still manages to see. "A digimon!?"
The form the digimon takes is that of a fox-like creature wearing a large holy ring as a collar. The digimon's small form floats forward towards Alex until it is eye level, and greets him. "Hello. I am Kudamon, and shall serve your herald, messenger, page, earl, and successor." It's voice is surprisingly masculine- wait, successor?!
Alex is thrown off by the digimon's forward attitude. "Wait, what's this about successor?"
The small digimon chuckles as if dealing with a child. "Well, you won't live forever, and in your death there will be certain matters that will need to be taken cared of. I will happily accept those tasks."
Alex glances at Dinotigermon fro aid, but the large smilodon looks just as exasperated as he does. Scratching his head Alex holds his hand out. "Well, welcome to the team Kudamon."
Kudamon takes his hand in a surprisingly strong grip and shakes it. A ghost of a smiling passing his lips as he studies his new (for now)master. "And I'm happy to be here."
This turn of events gets Alex to thinking. Maybe the digital world could tolerate him a bit longer.he also has the sneaking suspicion that the digital world isn't done with his yet. Besides, if all his other digimon are going to be with his brother, what would happen to Kudamon? Since there seems to be nothing for it he decides to go with it.
Alex, Dinotigermon and Kudamon face the expansive digital world across the horizon. "Looks like our adventures are just starting."
"Yeah, I guess they are."

Kyo looked at Marcus sob into his shoulder. The tears seped into is suit making a dark blue puddle. Kyo smiled at Marcus. "You know thats not true." He said pointing at the flying Virus Buster Memory as it was a shooting star. "If Chris was truly dead the memory would go to you, its second owner. It's flying back to the tower were it was found, and if my hunch is right then Chris will be there." Kyo said as a reasuring smile came across his face as he stood up. "So lets go" Kyo said taking his friend hand and helping him up. kyo took in the then are of the rebuilt mountain letting all of the memories of this adventure sink in. "Hahahahaha!" Kyo said letting out a hardy laughed "looks like our adventure isn't over yet"

Kyo turned around to see Kiro leave to an unknown area. "By Kiro. " Kyo said as he waved his hand slowly.

Kyo grinned a toothy grin to his friend "I know so." Kyo used all of his might to life Marcus from the ground. "Lets go" he said.
