Dante wasn't fond of being kicked out of the bed. Although he was now a parent, there wasn't much he knew about parenting. In order to make Damien stop crying, he would have to search for a problem. In this case, he found that Damien had a soggy diaper. Having seen April do it before, Dante changed Damien's diaper. Just in case, he also refilled his bottle as well. After Damien settled down, Dante returned to the bed.

After a few weeks April told Dante that he would have to get a job soon. He wasn't sure what that was so she explained it to him. Thinking on what Dante was good at, he figured maybe he could get a good job that relied on strength. Or a job that relied on tracking. Dante was good at both. But what kind of job could he get with only those skills, he wondered.

Dante thought about the jobs that April had mentioned. Then he looked them up with April's help (he still wasn't sure how to work a computer). Being a detective was good, but one never knew when the next paycheck would be coming in or if it would last. When Dante looked up the drug dog job he suddenly felt stupid. So he went with the last option: cop. He could probably pull it off. And so, he went to apply for the job. Of course, before they could let him in, he had to show them his skill. Just then, a criminal was making his escape. In his human form, Dante wasn't as strong as he normally was, but he was still just as fast. He managed to get in front of the criminal and punch him out. Impressed, the police chief ordered that Dante receive training immediately.

Dante didn't find this strange at all. It might have been because Demon children can talk as early as a month after birth, or it could have been that he had no idea that such a thing was abnormal. Either way, he didn't see anything wrong with it. He scratched his head. "Aren't babies supposed to talk soon after they're born?"

Dante thought. Other than that, there wasn't really anything else. But then he remembered that Demon babies have been able to walk and run only a few months after birth. He didn't think it would happen, but Dante mentioned it anyway.

A few months passed. Dante was put on the special forces team of the police squad. Every criminal that he had caught had been caught alive. Needless to say, he was making good money.

Dante didn't have a problem with it. His former bretherin had left him alone, he was getting paid well, and he was happy. The only problem he had was where to go. Dante knew nothing of picking a place to live, and so he was unsure if he could go and do it himself. He didn't want to simply pawn the task onto April either. So he made a compromise with himself. He would look for a place to live along with April.
