{{I kind of think that Iphones and Ipods are ridiculous. Well, maybe not so much Ipods. But, I have a cellphone, a Tracfone in fact, and that's all I need. I don't need to take pics with it or connect to the internet. I'm really glad I live in the center of the US and not on either coasts. Too busy and impersonal. I love the family and friendly atmosphere here. biggrin We're much more on personal communication than through phones or the next big gadget.}}
Lin bit her lip lightly to keep from sighing in frustration at her professor. That would not be proper, but he was starting to become very frustrating. He wouldn't answer her very often and when he did, it was usually with just one sentence. He said he'd tell her how to make the potion, but he didn't go ahead and do so! Was she supposed to beg? And why was he looking at her oddly all of a sudden?
Lin stood up from the desk. "Perhaps I should simply help care for these patients. Nothing else really seems to be getting done around here..."
That was the snippiest Lin had ever gotten around someone in authority. She could feel her headmistress coming out in her now, and she actually didn't mind it.

((I like to take pictures of stuff I do in drawing class, and then text those pics to my friends.))
Ophi flinched - he could have sworn there was just the slightest edge to Lin's voice. "I'm sorry," he said, although he wasn't quite sure if she was angry, or just not quite as polite as normal, or both.
"Actually, I think it would be great if you took care of these patients in my place for the next day or so. The Headmaster won't be a problem, I put him under a hypnosis spell." The healing professor looked to Cook and Adolf. He would need their help, even though he was the strongest of the three.
"There's not a lot being done to prepare for war, and seeing as how Ialo is... incapacitated, never mind that he'll hardly know what to do, that's falling to me now - I should tell you all about this war, actually."

"Go right on ahead. I'm all ears." Cook said, forcing his mind onto matters at hand and not the questionable location of his little girl.

Lin couldn't keep the small frown off of her face. Her professor said that he would teach her how to make the potion, but he did not. So now she would have to take one of those potions and analyze it for weeks, trying to discover how it was made. It would be so much easier and productive if her professor would just tell her how to make the restorative potion. Besides, if she was in charge of healing people that came into the medical wing for the next couple of days, she would not be able to make more restorative potions if they were needed. She would simply have to care for them the old fashioned way or somehow get ahold of Professor Akakios so he could make some more.
She really did not like the lack of preparation that was being put into this entire operation. Although, she was quite pleased that her professor thought enough of her abilities to put her, a student, in charge of caring for the injured here at the school. She would learn a lot and it would be a good use of her skills.
She crossed her arms over her chest and sighed softly. "I will need to know where the different supplies are around here and what type of paperwork I need to fill out when a patient arrives, sir."

Adolf frowned, not liking the sound of war. Just that one word was enough to put him on edge--he'd been involved in enough to know that war was not something to trifle with. He didn't want his goddaughter involved... but he knew he would never be able to stop her. She'd sneak in. It would be better to prepare her as best as possible, and fight alongside her.
He just wished it were as easy to do as it was to say. He nodded at Ophiuchus, signaling for the man to continue speaking.

((Is there a particular reason that Lin is more concerned with a potion recipe than she is the fact that a healing demi-god professor just implied he was going to prepare for a war?))

"You'll be taught to wield your new abilities on a level Ialo cannot comprehend. I can see you're high on defending him, so be it. Once ready, you can either continue on and stay at his side, or you can come to mine, and become my right hand where once Ialo himself was meant to be. You shall be my warrior, his champion, my assassin, his guardian. You shall become all you cannot conceive. Follow me, and in time, you may prove a worthy candidate."
He paused, focusing his right hand upon the shattered mask that sat upon his face. It suddenly roared up, the entirety taking solid form once more; he looked absolutely demonic with the face gleaming bleach-white bone and a jawbone lined by dozens of interlocking razors. He opened his mouth, the mask imitating as the voracious teeth slid apart. "My...I certainly am more powerful in this world...interesting." He began to laugh, a very guttural, disturbingly distorted laugh through that mask. Why he was laughing, and about what, was entirely up for suggestion.

'War...' That single word rang out in his mind in this far off reality. 'War...'
He bowed slightly to Danni, before ripping a new hole between realities with both blades. "My apologies dear, urgent matters. Be on your way, the portal will close behind you."
With that he was gone, and that very second he was spat out in a very different place from whence he came. "Serpent! What's this talk of war? I heard you all the way in the Border, Setsuka surely must have as well! Bite that wriggling tongue of yours else she's liable to find your little hideaway."

((Well, ask and you shall receive... This will be interesting!))
Ophiuchus started, jumping back as Riser suddenly appeared n the school clinic. "... And you could hear h - never mind." Questions were not always a good thing to ask Riser.
"Anyways, war," he repeated, looking around at everyone in the room, even the unconscious ones. "You see it coming, don't you Riser? Setsuka is back, and it's probable she's going to attempt her game all over again. This school's purpose was to keep that thing sealed and guarded from the rest of the world for a reason. - oh, I'm sorry. Did you want to be the one to give the group impromptu history lesson?" He shrugged. "Either way, we need to be informed, and we need to set up shields and traps, and I know Ialo too paranoid to not have any, and too distracted to have used them properly."

"Of course I know, what do you take me for some kind of idiot? Don't worry, I've been putting in place my own preparations for the day she's barking on our front porch."
He stopped, thinking momentarily. "Oh...oh yeah, that crap. He set maybe half it up, couldn't figure out how to start half of that half, ran through, fixed them, and then didn't feel like setting the rest up I suppose. It's not important anyways, I saw Alex outback smashing some of the shield generators and camera grids; guarantee that monster has smashed every single last one of them by now."

"...." The Serpent facepalmed. "Technology at a magic school, he better have his so called back-up plans somewhere!" He looked up again, at Riser. "You love prodding minds..."
Ophiuchus could not, and should not, endorse potentially unethical activity in front of a student, but the situation was grim right now. If Riser tapped into Ialo's mind, maybe he would pull something about the school's defenses that Ophiuchus could fix.... maybe. The healer was nowhere near as mechanically inclined as the Headmaster.... And Riser was someone Ialo did not enjoy sharing information with.

Adolf stood suddenly. "Setsuka?" he demanded. He had not heard that name... in a very, very long time. It had been almost a thousand years, if he remembered correctly. This woman... she was nothing good. Nothing could come of her that would ever benefit the greater good. He stared seriously, almost glaringly, at Ophiuchus and Riser.

{{Yes there is. Lin is veeeery stubborn. She is focused on the potion right now and she will not be deterred. The idea of learning how to make such an amazing potion is consuming her thoughts right now. She has a one track mind when it comes to medicinal practices. She's fun to write that way! lol!}}
Lin groaned in pain when she felt a very intense dark energy permeate the hospital wing suddenly. She had to go and sit down on one of the couches while her pendant cast a barrier around her. She glared over at Riser fiercely

"Yes Frenchy, Setsuka." He barked, almost as if he were trying to exclude Adolf from the conversation. Then again, Riser had shown shades of racism and hatred for people with no definitive backing reason behind these feelings, perhaps Adolf was just one of these people.
"Sure, I can walk around in his head. You know he'll know I'm there right, and your a** will get caught, right? Thanks to that little spell of yours he'll be the one inhabiting the human aspect of his consciousness; meaniiiiiiing, that as soon as I kick that front door open, I'll have Ialo's two halves bitching at me and that...other part bitching on my behalf. It will be chaos if I go into your kid's head, absolute ******** chaos." He grinned that eerie grin of his as the mask began to flake away into his shattered form once more.

Danni listened to all Riser had to say, and even as her protective side came into play, so did her competitive nature. 'May prove to be a worthy candidate' her a**. The b*****d didn't know who he was talking to if he thought she was going to wuss out or fall short of the mark.
When he went demon on her, laughing maniacally, she decided he really had lost his frigging mind. And she was supposed to follow him...Well, she'd followed worse.
"Whatever, go on, do your...whatever it is you do." She watched him leave, then sighed, turning her glance to the portal opened for her.
"Why the hell not? I want a nap." She stepped through the portal, found herself in front of Mystic Fountain.
Since she didn't feel like walking, she levitated herself, just a bit, so her feet still skimmed the ground, but she didn't have to do any actual moving.
As she rounded the school, she saw a group of girls from her hand to hand class stop dead in their tracks, staring at her. Then one tilted back her head and let loose a scream that sounded suspiciously like 'ghost'. What the hell...oh. Right.
With an oath, she rounded the building the rest of the way, going towards the shack. She stopped only when she spotted a freshly dug grave, grass seed still sprinkled over it, covered in flowers. Her grave, she thought, feeling a tug in her chest. They'd dug her a grave, buried the shell of what had once been her body but was now only a hole-riddled corpse.
Later, later when she wasn't dead on her feet, she'd come back here, and pay her respects to the body she'd ruined, the soul she'd shattered. And it would have to be enough.
But for now she dragged herself into the shack, up the stairs, back to the bed she called her own. And it was with a relieved sigh that she stripped, collapsed on the bed and pulled the covers over her.
She would worry about everything else later...much later. After she'd spent a few hours flat on her back...well, stomach. She'd always been a stomach sleeper.
