Mahogany Shapour -- Phantom of the OperaMahogany winced as the light was shone in his direction and covered his face with an arm. Well, at least now he could see. See that the damage to his cape was so much worse than he had epxected. The rip hadn't been clean. Far from it. In fact, the fabric had not ripped from the seam. In fact, there was still a good chunk of fabric in the seam, and the rest of it had torn away from the part that was bonded with stitching. Mahogany's mouth hung open as he felt the frayed threads of the once perfect cape and then he turned to gape at the man who insulted him. " Excuse me," he all but brayed. "Do you -- do you know who I am?" A kid? Had... had that guy just called him a kid? Mahogany was visibly beside himself in that moment, having added insult to injury. "I am famous, sweetie, you don't even know who you are dealing with," he sneered as he wrapped the cape back around his neck. "I have friends in high places, friends that can make your life so difficult and miserable that you would never want to leave your house again. Please honey, I am the youtube beauty scene, you don't even know." Mahogany fell silent at the offer, watching the pair suspiciously for a moment before he said, "fine. But I'm only following you to protect my investment." Gisela Louise -- Lazy ZombieWhere Derrick saw something familiar in Gisela's face, Gisela looked up and saw nothing. She saw his face, or enough of it to be able to pick him out of a line up later but beyond that... nothing. So she pouted up at him, eyes still damp from her minor tantrum, and considered his hand. As the wave of emotion ebbs from her bones, reason crept back into her mind and she knew that she was not able to make this trek on her own. Not with her insomnia rattled brain betraying her at every turn. Around her the shadows moved and while she was sure it was just the movement of people around her, she couldn't be certain that they weren't coming back to life to take her again. She took Derrick's hand suddenly and lifted herself, clinging to his side like a frightened child and whispered, "okay... lead the way..."

Richard Bell -- budget vampire [x]Richard was more than willing to mooch off of Ignacio's candy, unwrapping the offered piece and popping it in his own mouth. He was a bit less concerned about the health ramifications than Ignacio might have been, but then again he was already planning to go for a run later anyway. "I mean, you did have breakfast this morning didn't you?" he teased back. "But... okay, okay I guess you're right." When Ignacio called attention to his clothing, he tried to play it off but ended up coughing and turning his head at the gesturing Ignacio did. "Yeah, I'm sure you don't, you--oh, hm?" Distracted from his absolutely feeble retort by Ignacio's question, he glanced around over the crowd. "I don't know; there's a lot of older kids, teenagers and whatnot. Maybe they'll make the little kids have chaperones?" A 'you must be this tall to enter the maze' sign? Richard honestly wasn't sure. He didn't get much more time to think the answer over before all of the lights went to the sound of the reflexive, probably startled, screams. Surprised himself, Richard froze for a second, blinking wide-eyed into the darkness, before reaching out for Ignacio. He could see the 'Exit' sign; if the lights didn't come back on soon, maybe they should head for it? The straining metal and sharp shattering glass turned that 'maybe' into a 'definitely', into a 'let's leave now'. "Let's get the hell out of here." Richard's voice was calmer than he felt, the screams after the shattering glass making the hairs on the back of his neck rise up. It did occur to him that the shattering glass could be a sound effect played from the speakers somewhere, but this seemed like a dangerous way to scare a bunch of guests--what if people panicked and trampled the kids? Either way, most of the fibers of his being were telling him to leave. Now. Telling Ignacio what he was doing and trusting that he would follow him in the darkness, Richard made his way toward the 'Exit' sign across the room. Without enough ambient light, he found himself colliding bodily with other people, and he put his hands out to try and minimize stepping on the ones around him. His eyes were adjusting as quickly as they could to the darkness, but he was only human, and they only adjusted so much and only so quickly. He apologized repeatedly, glancing back to see if Ignacio had followed him as he finally reached the exit.

Ignacio ArayaIgnacio was admittedly both delighted that he drew a flustered reaction out of Richard and that he was unable to actually complete his (likely pathetic) comeback. He hummed a bit when Arra fumbled into his oh?, but didn't comment any further on it. Admittedly, that was mostly because he didn't get time to. He saw the lights go out, heard the metal strain, heard the cracking of the windows. His first thought was dammit, not this again, his second thought was, is Arra okay? and his third thought was, this would be a great time to be Sailor Encke. He quickly started to fish in his pocket where he stored his henshin pen even while costumed, but he came to a rather sudden realization. There were too many people here. There was no way he could be fully alone, even in the dark. What if the lights came back on? What if there was an agent in here, or something, and they saw him? s**t. He was stuck. Well, he better get moving, then. Hopefully Richard had moved towards the exit, too. It was a little mobbed in here and most people seemed to be freaking out. Ignacio probably wasn't as nervous as he should have been, all things considered. He had dealt with worse, right? He weaved through everyone rather easily, making it towards the Exit without colliding into anyone or stepping on anyone. Once he made it a bit closer, he took the chance to look behind himself and see if he could make out anything. That was when he spotted them, the figures that didn't quite seem ... natural, darting behind some of the people. He squinted a little, attempting to make out what nonsense this might have been, but he was distracted by someone brushing by him. "Arra! We should go." Especially if those things were monsters...

Roddy – dressed as a lionman
"Hrm... You know, I'm not quite sure. I suppose we'll find out after a while. I just hope there's some food left, it's already so crowded in here." Roddy did his best to keep close to Julian to not lose him. He felt incredibly delighted that he was so willing to come out and be around so many people, that he truly wanted nothing more than to make sure his roommate had a great time.
And yet, like so many things in life, they just didn't go the way they wanted. before he could even blink and murmur about the sweet smells wafting through the area, the lights blinked out and Roddy felt Julian's thin fingers wrap around his arm and try to tug him away.
"I'm right here with you, alright?" As reassuring as he tried to be, it didn't seem as if he could move all to well. Elbows and shoulders and feet all dug into him as people pushed past him in panic. He was a BIG man, and most likely to other people, just a big obstacle that they needed to get past. And for that, he didn't mind, only pulling Julian closer to him for a moment and making sure no one else hurt him. And... Well, he truly wanted to keep Julian from panicking, given just how scary the situation seemed. "I'm right here... Let's just wait a moment before we do anything else... We don't want to get trampled right? We can move after all the other's get out of the way. I'm right here, I'll keep you safe."

Anxo - Dressed as a Scarecrow
There it was! That sweet smile that Anxo just adored adorned Arian's face and he couldn't stop himself from giving him another quick nuzzle before he moved away to throw his trash out. And he grinned as he watched the pendant swing about Arian's neck, his own tucked away under his costume. He never took it off except when he went to the pool or took a shower. It was a symbol of their bond, of their connection, and he never, ever wanted that to be severed.
He was just about to make a comment about how they should find some cider or something when the lights flickered off, and he suddenly felt Saffy be pushed towards him. There was no protest, only a soft sound of acknowledgement and an arm going about her shoulders to steady the older woman. "Don't worry, Saffy, I got you."
It was like the sudden lights had the stampede of people running off, and elbows and feet seemed to walk all over him, but as long as Saffy and Arian were safe, he'd be fine. Something fuzzy brushed past his thigh and he flinched, reaching out to make sure he could take a hold of Arian's hand too and squeeze it tight. "Come on, let's get moving!"

Jason McClayre - 7
Jason couldn't help the fact that Nischal looked hot in his costume, but he chuckled at the other man's comment anyway. "Okay, fine. It's not like I won't get to have fun with it later anyway..." He gave his Aquaman a friendly little nudge as he continued to scan the crowd for his friend. She had said she would be here, but it was awfully crowded due to the event being delayed. The fog outside was keeping everyone indoors for the time being.
He hadn't expected what happened next, at the light flickered out. That would make it literally impossible to find anyone in this crowd. "Ugh, really? I just wanted to have one fun evening." Surely they'd be back on soon right? The weather hadn't seemed that bad, what could have knocked them out? Maybe this was all part of the event. That thought quickly left his mind when the sound of glass shattered rippled through the room. He had had enough of broken glass these days. And then bodies were pushing against them, people were rushing toward the emergency exit.
He was quick to grab ahold of Nischal's hand so they wouldn't get separated in the chaos. They hadn't been able to find Kailey, but he was still worried about his friend. She would be okay, right? "Don't let go, okay?" ason held on to Nischal as they pushed their way through the crowd. He lost count of how many times someone stepped on his feet, but he was sure he had returned the favor to quite a few of them.
Bluebell Simmons - 3
Bluebell was always a fan of charity events, her parents had participated in the raffle and were looking forward to the possibility of winning some prizes. She was looking forward to wandering around in the maze and seeing the beauty of the garden's outside. For the event she had dressed up as he favorite Disney character, Tinker Bell. Which only seemed more ironic now that she had awakened into a magical girl. The senshi of Pixies, or all things, it seemed truly fitting. Perhaps Cass was here somewhere? She had spent some time looking around for the other girl, bumping into other people she knew along the way.
She had been over by the free food when the light went out. She glanced back toward the front of the room, but it was impossible to tell what the weather was like outside with all that fog. It didn't sound like it was storming outside though. That's when the glass shattered though and suddenly everyone was in a frenzy on their way toward the exits in the back.
Immediately someone bumped into her and the drink in her hand spilled all over her cute Tinker Bell dress. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" But the words were lost on whoever had caused the accident and before she knew it people were elbowing her, stepping on her feet, and rushing by her as she also tried to make her way toward the exit. She almost fell at one point, but instead of hitting the ground she ran into something that didn't feel human. It was gone before she could really tell what it was, but she knew it wasn't normal. Nothing had been normal in this City for weeks now.
Kaefaux Cass, your little one is in trouble!
Lulu Flowers - 10
Lulu had attended the event dress up as Lilo, while her brother was in a cute little Stitch costume. Although, she really didn't get to spend much time with him at all as her grandparents rushed him around, making introductions. She wandered off on her own for the most part, occasionally meeting back up with him at the different events happening inside. Since her family didn't seem to care whether she stayed with them or not, she decided to look around for some of her new friends. Would Hania be here? Could he be here since he was a cat? She wondered if Kailey had put him into some sort of cute costume, how adorable would that be!
She didn't really get a chance to find them though, as they lights went out and the glass shattered. Everything went crazy in the blink of an eye. She was worried about her brother, but he had their Dad and grandparents to look after him. He'd be fine right? She couldn't really go looking for him in the dark anyway. Instead, she made her way toward the exit as best as she could. She was fairly small, maybe that's why she had a fairly easy time pushing her way through the crowd and toward the exit.
Any Arthurians!! Looking for her friends!!

Steele Moore
If there was one thing that could have ruined Steele's current attempts at flirtation and conversation it was a damn power outage.
Either that, or Rob showing up and one upping him as usual, but a power outage was about the next most annoying thing on Steele's list of Possible Sucky Things to Occur This Particular Evening. He reached up a hand, trying to tug his little vampiric capelet more securely into place.
"What on earth - ouch!"
Something nudged him from behind. Steele managed to slide through the throngs of people with a deftness built from years of elaborate party going in order to schmooze with the best of them, his blue eyes sweeping the room to catch sight of -
Well. He wasn't entirely sure.
"Shikora?" Was she still here?
She'd probably ditched him in the dark.
It wouldn't have been all that surprising, honestly.

Archer Wren
The lights going out, rather than making Archer more irritated than he already was, actually made him feel more secure, the darkness a familiar thing as it curled around him. The desire to power up and become Wolfeite was almost overpowering; he didn't have his abilities here, in this pathetic, glamoured, civilian form.
That was the aggravating part. He could have made damn good use of the darkness.
And there were too many damned people losing their collective, lowly minds over the lack of light. Archer shoved his way through them all, dropping his calm facade in the safety of the blackout, letting out a snarl of anger as someone trod on his foot. He jabbed an elbow backwards, pushing, and stumbled over someone's ankle.
His shoulder knocked into someone. Archer let out another growl.
"Lauri."

Nathaniel Parrish
"What's a 'lurchies?'" He asked curiously, eyebrows raising. "I don' think I've heard of 'em. Are they dangerous?"
Maybe she meant munchies. Or maybe she meant something that would eat their plants, like bugs or something, which Nathaniel admittedly always thought of as rather tragic. Aphids and the like were a despairing thing when it came to gardening, after all, especially after the time and effort he put into it.
"Jada sounds real nice," said Nathaniel, with a small smile. "Why don't we - "
The lights going out prevented him from actually finishing what he was saying, but he heard Giulia's little gasp of shock. He groped for her hand in the dark, not wanting to leave a child alone, even one as smart as Giulia seemed to be.
"Let's get outta here, then," he said, "D'ye mind if I take your hand? I'd hate to lose y'in the dark."
Someone's elbow rammed into Nathaniel.
"Ouch."

Fritz St. James
He saw her, from across the room.
Of course he saw her. He couldn't not see her, because Fritz's mind seemed hardwired to notice whenever she was around, which was frankly an extremely distressing and frustrating thing that he needed to be able to control - and couldn't. He was always hyper aware of her.
He couldn't not say hello. Fritz took a breath to calm himself, told himself that everything was fine, and started to weave his way through the crowds of people towards the two young women, offering both a small smile as he avoided stepping on people's toes.
When he was within hearing range, he started to say, "Good evening ladies - " and promptly never got to finish the rest.
The darkness curled around them like a fog, Fritz's sharp intake of breath clearly audible, slightly pained.
"Oh dear. Cordelia, I thought I saw you and your friend, are you all right?"

Adrien Davids
"Well, what you wore to class is great," said Adrien, and meant it, because even Adrien could appreciate just how beautifully the colors of his clothing went with his dark hair and eyes. Besides, Adrien had a habit of dressing Yuuri when he could, sticking random pieces of clothing in his side of the closet whenever he wasn't looking.
Still. He was lucky. Adrien beamed.
A beaming smile that disappeared in the dark. Adrien felt a momentary flash of irritation that his night out with his boyfriend was being ruined so unfairly, feeling Yuuri's fingers tightening around his own. He brought his hand up and kissed the back of Yuuri's knuckles, then squeezed them reassuringly.
"Come on, darling, you're right, let's get out of here - look, there's the exit - ow - do you mind - "
People kept jostling into him. Adrien pushed back against whoever it was, huffing in annoyance.
"Honestly. People. Sweetheart, you still okay?"

Caspian Lyons-Gallo
He really needed to figure out a way to get Michael over this mood of his. Or rather, not over it, but working with it, since Michael seemed determined to be grumpy and stubborn about his grumpiness. He knew that his almost dying had only made the overprotectiveness worse, but it had been months; he'd thought that things would be better by now.
It was even worse, however, without the lights.
Caspian sighed.
Heavily.
"Michael - hey - Michael - "
His husband was towing him away, hands gripping firmly, and Caspian stumbled along behind him, tripping over someone's foot and almost faceplanting into the back of Michael's costume.
"Hey! Slow down, mister!"

Seth Volkov
Lovely slapping his hand away wasn't exactly a surprise. Seth offered him a poisonous smile, calm and sweet, before glancing back at Ilian, brows raised in an expression of calm amusement. He wasn't about to argue the point, especially not here, but mostly because he saw little point in trying to win the favor of someone who, in the end, didn't actually matter.
General Jet mattered, and that meant Ilian mattered. Lovely was just an unfortunate side effect, it seemed.
Especially considering that, a second later, he found himself half shoved aside as the lights went out and Ilian's so-called husband barreled through. Seth rolled his eyes, an unseen gesture in the blackout, and turned to follow them, hopefully at Lovely's annoyance.
"Vhat do you think happened?" he asked airily, sounding supremely unconcerned, even as people pushed and shoved and knocked into him.

Basil Whybourne
"Oh." Basil frowned, more in thought than distress, although there was a certain sense of small frustration that he hadn't thought of that himself. "I suppose you're right, a radio would seem ideal if the person tending to them didn't have any musical abilities."
Such as himself.
"Do you...study psychology, then?" Basil asked curiously, finding himself more drawn into the conversation than he'd intended to be. But Lysander seemed relatively easy to talk to, which was rare, especially for someone like Basil, who had a habit of not being able to communicate properly in the first place.
"I read a book recently on psychology, it was - "
The lights went out. Basil's sentence faltered, and then stopped, the frown deepening.
"What's going on? Was this a part of the evening?"
