Like most villages in the tundra, it had its fair share of difficulties due to the climate. From a young age, Malnir was taken in by the village's Necromancer as an apprentice and was taught how to raise the dead to help the living survive. From age 5 to 15, Malnir spent most of his time around his Master and their undead companions. Some might say that's why he's so... off.
Malnir and his Master were drafted into the Black Company when he was 16. From then on, he worked with his Master to perfect the art of Necromancy. He had just finished his training only a few years before the 50 Year War ended. Despite how he may behave sometimes, Malnir is deceptively cunning. He may seem to move and speak slowly, but his mind is constantly running at top speed, taking in and analyzing his surroundings at all times.┅┅Aloof
Some might see this as a flaw, but for Malnir it simply means that its nearly impossible to rile him up. He cares little for anyone or anything.┅┅Tenacious
One has to be for his job. Once he sets his sights on something, or settles on an idea, its nigh impossible to shake his hold on it. The trouble is getting him to latch onto something.┅┅┅┅Weaknesses┅┅Uncaring
He really just... does not care. In the rare instances that he does, it can sometimes be okay, but for the most part Malnir cares little for the well-being of others or even himself at times. He simply exists, almost like a robot on autopilot.┅┅Distrusting
Setting aside his lack of care for most things, he genuinely does not trust others. Living things are too unpredictable for Malnir's taste, he'd rather spend his time with the dead.┅┅Obsessive
This seems to conflict with his lack of care for the world around him, but honestly, once he latches onto something he tends to obsess over it. Combined with his tenacity, this can be very... very unhealthy.

He's loved animals from a young age, finding their company to be more enjoyable than most other Kirin. Coupled with his friendship with Nicolas, Ian found life among pure Kirin to be a little... suffocating. When he was able, he left home to pursue his dream of caring for animals full time. While he's had bouts of good weeks, even good months, he's always had trouble keeping up with other kids. For this reason, he spent most of his childhood cooped up in the house, away from anyone that might bring in a terrible sickness. This hasn't dampened his temperament too much- Xeizii is still, by large, a fairly positive fellow. He's mild tempered and genuinely cares about the people in his life, which up until his relocation to the Academy was largely just his three parents and brother Prometheus.
Despite being an overall cheerful person, Xeizii does have bouts of time where he truly despises his condition, though he never speaks about it to anyone. Obviously Xeizii goes through a lot- not just mentally but also physically due to his condition. He has a high tolerance for pain, discomfort, and general unease and does all of this with a smile... most of the time.┅┅Caring
Xeizii is a very caring individual. If given the opportunity to get to know someone, he quickly forms bonds and is always happy to lend an ear or just provide basic company - even if it may be on the more detrimental side to himself.┅┅┅┅Weaknesses┅┅Secretive
Primarily about his own negative feelings- Xeizii does not, and will not, share when he is upset. Ever. It takes a keen eye to figure out when he's down and a lot of stubbornness to get him to open up about it. Since he's been so isolated, he really does form bonds with people at the drop of a hat if they're around for more than a day. He is not the most self-confident person ever, though he'd never mention that out loud. Xeizii knows he is different and does not like it. Even for the average Litch he's rather thin, sometimes he can't walk - which places him in a wheelchair thus accentuating his difference, and his eyes appear to be solid black which seems to unsettle a lot of people...
