Although Hiro's strike had met its mark, the impact caused Xin's weapon to shatter at the staff. The blade itself he had not accounted in its trajectory. He felt the ice teeth bit into his back and an icy grip seemed envelope him as if someone with extremely cold hand grabbed his spine. The unexpected attack caused him to lose balance and drop his staff.

Hiro felt his face impact the ground with the sound of his weapon following after. Coughing up dust he could feel the pain in his back while his uniform became stained with his blood mixed with water. He pushed himself to one knee and looked over at his opponent who seemed pretty beat up. He listened to Xin's words and watched for what he would do next. Both seemed exhausted from using their techniques. He breathed heavily knowing that Xin seemed to show compassion for his comrades as well as pride. Something Hiro himself shared. They didn't seem too different despite being on opposing sides.

Sven continued to futilely attempt to combat the flame monster with his ice abilities. The damn thing just burned too hot, and its flames regenerated as soon as he'd extinguished them. He had seen Kait dart in quickly at one point, but then she had disappeared again. It would seem that he was on his own, and fighting a losing battle. But he was also determined to go down fighting. He'd keep going until he collapsed.
"RRRRRRRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!!!"
Sven flinched at the sound. It hadn't been the fiend in front of him, but something large and powerful had just let out a tremendous roar. Even the fiend before him was glancing around, seeking the source of that cry of defiance. Then Sven noticed it. It stepped out from around a building, casting light all around it. It was man shaped, with two arms and two legs that each might end in raking claws. Other than that its form was obscured by the pillar of flames that rose up around it. Each step it took left a smoldering print behind as it slowly advance into the clearing where Sven was battling the fiend.
Then, suddenly, it burst into motion. It sprinted across the distance and leaped up into the air. It came back down atop the fiend, landing amidst the flames, which seemed not to bother it in the slightest. It stood up atop the creature and appeared to inhale deeply and it seemed as though it drew some of the fire away from the chimera fiend and onto itself. Then it attacked. Claws slashed out into the fiends back and searing blood spattered and sizzled across the ground.
The fiend reacted violently, letting out a roar of protest of its own and twisting and throwing the offending man shaped fiend off of itself.
Sven didn't know what was going on, but he was glad for the respite.
Kait suddenly darted out from behind a building clutching at one of her hands and sprinted over to Sven.
"Sven! It's Digo! The one attacking the big fiend, it's Digo!" She yelled out.
"Holy crap..." Digo said as he looked on with wide eyes as the two fiends did battle.
Flames danced everywhere as they set fire to everything around them and they spun, darted, and whirled about trying to hit and avoid being hit. Digo proved to have the advantage in speed and agility, using his fiendish strength to pull off feats of acrobatics that Sven thought he probably would have hurt himself attempting in his human form. Digo ducked under or flipped over many incoming strikes, darting in and making quick slashes with his sharp claws. Then he would twist and dart away again as the original fiend used its greater size to attempt to squash him. The fiend did score a couple of hits, but Digo was able to plant arms or legs against it and use its force as a springboard to throw himself up and away. Then he would land deftly on his feet and dart back in to renew his assault.
Kait smacked Sven lightly on the back of the head. Sven snapped out of his trance.
"Quit standing around gawking. Help him!" She cried.
Sven was already fairly exhausted, but he mustered up his remaining strength and prepared to launch a few strategic strikes against the fiend. He might not be able to hurt it, but he might be able to open it up for Digo to land some more telling blows.

Malkin gripped his scimitars and prepared himself. He had heard of the other woman with a similar power who had assaulted the Corps. not long ago. From what he understood of these people that also meant that this one was what they considered the perfect version of this ability. That did not mean that she was undefeatable though. Kiro was only one step down from perfect in his ability and TJ supposedly was the final result in hers as well... Wait... TJ.
Malkin left the wire woman behind and darted back to where TJ was standing over Mathias.
"TJ. How much more can you use that power of yours?" Malkin asked in his gravely voice.
"Until I pass out from blood loss." TJ answered.
Malkin noticed she was already starting to look a little bit paler than her normal shade. And there was blood along her torn clothing on one of her sides. He'd have to risk it though.
"Can you use to your blood to create a stimulant? Something to enhance speed and strength?"
"Yeah, I can do that."
"Good. We're going to need a fair bit of it though." Malkin said. "Give me something to make me as fast as you can. Same thing for Gene. And give Mathias and Isaac a dose of speed and strength. Gene and I will take offense. Mathias, you and Isaac cover Gene, TJ, and I when we need it. TJ, you stay back in case we need a recharge or healing."
"Got it." TJ said, hoping she wouldn't die of exsanguination before this battle was over. She sliced both of her index fingers with her thumb talons and willed the welling blood to become the compounds that she needed. Then she held out one to each of the others.

Not what I had in mind!
Will darted to one side as the flames descended. He knew he was going to get burned, there was no avoiding that, so he stayed close to where the sword would arc down. He stepped just out of its path and began darting to where he had last seen the enemy woman. This was where he set his plan in motion. Matt had told him long ago that while flames are an incredibly effective and destructive tool they had one major weakness for the person wielding them. They cast light. Which could very easily blind the person wielding them as much as the person they were being wielded against.
Will darted in along the length of the flame sword, the ambient heat of which set his clothes and hair aflame and started to scald and burn his exposed skin. Will reached into his jacket as he ran and whipped his arm back out, sending three daggers whirling through the air towards where he had last seen the woman. He took his sword back into both hands and prepared to strike with everything he had the moment he rounded the flames and saw her.

"All your tricks aren't going to save you." Matt growled out "I'll incinerate them all and then smile as I melt your flesh off your bones."
Matt cocked one arm as if to punch and then did that very thing, Flames blasted out from his fist like an explosion. The fire seared across all before him. Matt kept it up and the flames kept pouring out like water through a broken dam. He increased the intensity and the fire erupted faster and hotter, blazing out in a rush of blue and white brilliance.

An enormous dent protruded from the reinforced steel door, which sheltered the mischievous group of Ugene, Zero, and Oiva. They all turned in unison towards the door, which protected them in their surveillance room and strategy room.

“What is this? What is happening?” Ugene asked frantically to no one in particular.

“It is the changing of fate.” Oiva answered, her voice unwavering and firm. She suspected such a thing to happen.

The second strike hit the door, causing it to fly off its hinges and across the room. Fidessa stood in the doorway with her hands on her hips. “Time to take out the trash I suppose.” She jested. Entering the room both Ugene and Zero stood up in protest, though Oiva did not move a muscle. There were many swords on display hung throughout the room as decoration and Ugene used these to his advantage. Using his Psychoknesis, he removed each and every weapon from the walls and levitated them pointing at Fidessa.

“You will not take us alive!” Ugene spat. Zero stood by, though useless at this point.

“Well, I guess I’ll have to take you other than alive then.” Fidessa decreed confidently.

With those words Ugene yelled loudly and sent each and every weapon flailing at Fidessa. It was as if a tornado broke out in the middle of the room. Outside the room, all could be heard was the clattered of metal and searing of wind.

Xin did not stand up. His strength was fading. He knew it would not be long until he rejoined his fallen allies. He brought his hands together in front of him and cupped them together. Water began to materialize, though it glowed brightly. The water looked like malleable light, but that was just from the peculiar glow. Xin morphed what looked to be a key in his hands. It quickly solidified into a brilliant clear key with odd markings and shapes all over it.

Xin held it out in front of him towards Hiro. “Take this.” He said. “It is the key to a place I have only been one time before… with my master, Fyura. This will get you there if you ever need it.” Xin uttered, his voice full of ache and pain. “It is made of ice that will never melt, so don’t worry about getting it hot.” Xin added.

Sjana stood waiting patiently as her enemies appeared to gather in order plan their assault against her. Sjana twirled one of her swords around by the chain from the end of her other sword for entertainment. Her long black hair waved around from the slightly breeze the whipping and twirling was making. “Use whatever strategies you like, the outcome will be the same.” She provoked.

Wilhelmia assumed her adversary defeated once she struck so she was taken offguard by the oncoming daggers. They each all struck her, two in the right shoulder and one in the right side. She winced in pain as floor spat out from her wounds. Suddenly William appeared almost in front of her. How did I not see him!? She thought to herself, desperately trying to figure out a way to defend herself on such short notice. It was too late. Her enemy’s sword came at her like thunder. It was over for her.

(( You have the option to god mod Wilhelmia there. ))

Ajax was prepared for Matt’s barrage of attacks. Steel wiring shot out from both of his forearms and fists, forming together as large metal fists about a foot tall and wide. He used this giant metallic fist to block Matt’s fiery fists and then countered him with a barrage of fist attacks of his own, all while laughing manically. His fists were as fast and as strong as before Kiro used his Kyto on him. He was back to his superhuman self.

“He may have his speed and strength back, but he is down one ability out of three!” Kiro announced as he charged to back up Matt.

Hiro watched as Xin created the key and presented it to him. Kneeling down he took the key in his hand and listened to Xin's words. He almost felt sorry that he had to fight such a man of bravery as his first enemy since his joining of the group. The key felt cold in his hand, but did not melt in the slightest. It was a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

Closing his hand around the key, he nodded. "I will make use of gift. Thank you. It was an honor fighting you." he finished. He would have to report to his group leader of this and ask what they would need to do next.

Mathias nodded as Malkin gave orders to the rest of them. He didn't know how much use he'd be now that his breastplate and shield were gone, but he'd do his best. TJ once again offered her bloodied finger to him and he quickly sucked a good bit down his throat. he instantly felt his body grow tense with unspent strength and energy. His eyes widened and he smiled in spite of himself.
"Don't worry, guys. We've got your backs!"
He readied his blade in a defensive posture and took up a position not far from his charges, close enough to defend them, but far enough to not be in their way. This witch was going down...

Drustwn pulled up short in his dash as William dispatched his opponent. He nodded approvingly, "Good work, Will. Let's go."
He nodded his head towards the doors Kiro and Matt had exited earlier, and followed his own advice and trotted towards them.

Gene ran over to where TJ, Malkin, and Mathias were when they gestured to him. He arrived right as Isaac did. Malkin quickly explained the plan and Gene grudgingly accepted a mouthful of bloody finger. As soon as he did he felt energy course through his body. He felt his perceptions speed up, or maybe the world around him just slowed down.
I could get used to this.
Gene checked his quiver. He was still well stocked. He had brought a lot of arrows with, figuring more was better than less in this situation.
Malkin watched as Gene and Isaac both took the blood and acclimated to their enhanced abilities quickly. He gestured to Hiro while they did, trying to get his attention and get him to come over and join their assault.
"Alright. Let's go." Malkin said. "Gene, keep those arrows flying. Isaac, you're on defense with Mathias. If it looks like TJ, Gene, or I are in trouble come in and help out. Otherwise leave the offense to Gene and myself. And TJ's safety is priority. Move out."
That said Malkin followed his own command and took off at a sprint. He was already faster than a normal human, but this was something else entirely. He had been surprised in his shift in speed as his fiendish traits developed and became more prominent. This felt like that all over again, but all at once instead of a gradual increase.
Malkin flashed across the grass and his speed devoured the distance between himself and the enemy in seconds. Malkin sped in with his scimitars held loosely in either hand. With his increased speed and perception he knew that his agility had increased also relative to his ability to react to the effect of physics on his own body. This would be interesting.
Gene likewise darted about, though he kept his distance. He normally stayed mostly stationary relying on well placed shots to incapacitate his foes before they knew he was there or before they could close to the point that he was required to move much. He knew this was a fault of his. And here he felt he had the capability to make up for that.
Gene darted left, right, back, up onto some tumbled rubble from a nearby building, down into a crouch, right again, forward, all over the place. He tried to keep his pattern as little like a pattern as he truly could. And his bow arm was in nearly constant motion throughout it all. He fired mostly single shots, sometimes while on the move, sometimes int he brief moment of still while he changed directions, occasionally he fired in twos or, rarely, in threes. Mostly, he just tried to keep a steady barrage of projectiles flying at the enemy and tried to keep it as unpredictable as he could.
TJ simply stood back from the others and observed. She itched to join in the battle, but knew she would be no use without similarly amplifying her own abilities. And that would consume more of her blood, which was in limited supply. She wanted to reserve her blood for Malkin and Gene, who probably had the best chances of punching through this witch's defenses.
Isaac moved up into the same range as Gene, where he felt he'd be best able to react to threats.

Digo continued his fiery dance with the flaming fiend. Dart in, attack, dart back out. The fiend would attempt to counterattack but so far was being overwhelmed by Digo's speed and agility. Digo had already landed over a score of slashes against the creature but they seemed to not be amounting to much. Too many of them were too shallow as he had to keep retreating as soon as he arrived. Nothing for it but to keep going though. Digo darted in. And as he did a column of ice, as thick around as a wagon wheel, thrust up from the ground and impacted the fiend right under the chin. It flashed to vapor almost immediately but enough of the force carried over that the fiends head snapped back and it rose onto its hind legs just a bit.
Digo stepped in, planted his feet, and slashed all the way across the fiends belly, his arm fully extended sweeping from right all the way across til it hit his left shoulder. He repeated the process with his left arm in the opposite direction. Both hits were solid and deep and searing, boiling, blood gushed out onto the ground. Digo darted back, thinking he had already overstayed his welcome, but the fiend was slow to react in its pain. Digo rushed in again, seeing that the wounds had greatly incapacitated the beast. He knew that this would soon be over.

Will's blade flashed in and impacted the woman right across the stomach. Some of her armor remained and was rent under the heavy blow. Will stepped in and dragged his sword heavily across her, the razor edged sword slicing deep into her abdomen. When the blade came free from her Will flicked it out to his right, spattering blood across the floor as he did.
With any normal enemy that would be a mortal wound. But Will knew he could take no chances here. While the woman paused in shock and pain he stepped forward, placing his left foot behind and to her left. He then stepped up with his right foot, pivoting on his left and coming back down so that he was standing behind her and slightly to one side. As he did so he brought his blade flashing around again and straight through her neck.
The woman's body collapsed to the ground and her head tumbled away. Will flicked the blood from his sword and sheathed it. He then pulled his jacket, which was still aflame from his near miss with her attack, off of himself and used it to quickly smother the flames that had caught in his hair before tossing it aside. He could feel the left half of his face and his left hand were burned and blistered. He's have to have Kimiko see to him again when he got home. Or maybe TJ could handle it so it wouldn't scar so bad this time.
"Well. That could have gone smoother." Will said. His voice sounded rough and his throat hurt. "We should move on, quickly. Kiro and Matt might need our help."

Matt didn't have superhuman strength, but he was pretty damned strong. He managed to block and deflect most of the hits, though a few landed. His gauntlets and breastplate were taking a beating and were warping and denting under the assault. Matt kept his flames going at full strength, his body wreathed in wildly leaping tongues of red, orange, blue, and white.
As the strikes came on Matt suddenly dropped his defense, taking a hit full on. But as he did he lashed out with both hands and tried to grab onto the monster's arm. If he succeeded he intended to flip the b*****d over onto his back where he might be a bit more vulnerable.

Sjana, who stood so relaxed just seconds before, tensed up the instant Malkin arrived to her position. She saw both scimitars and clashed with both of them with her own two swords that were still connected by a three-foot chain. Her seemingly always-emotionless face morphed into a wide smile with white pearl teeth. She looked into Malkin's face the moment they encountered each other, "You've got an interesting body." She stated quickly. Without warning dozens of iron spears (still wire-like) protruded from Sjana's skin and shooting outward in different directions that could cause Malkin to back off and coincidentally blocking many of Gene's arrows that headed toward her.

"I see TAX10 is deciding to sit this fight out." Sjana provoked, noticing she was not a part of their assault. In mid-sentence she had to slash and parry several of gene's barrages of arrows. "You're so annoying." Sjana gestured at gene with an extremely long iron wire shooting out from the ground heading for gene despite ducking behind debris for protection.

Ajax noticed what Matt was trying to do as he felt a shift in the direction he was pulling him, "Not going to happen!" Ajax roared as he attempted to grab hold of Matt's left leg with his free hand and pull back with his mighty arm muscles to send Matt flying backwards over him. Matt's close proximity to Ajax was causing some sever burns on his huge arms.

"Ajax!!!" Kiro roared back as he rushed in towards the two brawlers. Kiro slashed both katanas downward on Ajax's arm that reached for Matt. Ajax defended the basis of the attack by layering his whole arm with iron wires twisted and entwined together to close to gaps. Kiro's blades smashed down on this defense, causing it to dent and break in several places. The majority of the cut was blocked due to Ajax's quick thinking.

Matt's strength now overpowered Ajax's thanks to Kiro's effort to stop his grapple. Ajax was then lifted over Matt's shoulders thrown onto his back with a loud thud. Kiro tried to capitalize on this situation and swiped at him several times with his swords, though they were dodged as he rolled out of the way and acrobatically flipped back to his feet. He was not positioned right underneath his broadsword that was stuck into the remnants of the ceiling. With his lengthy limbs he reached up and yanked it free.

"I'm impressed you managed to hurt me." Ajax commended, referring to the burns on his left arm and the bruise and shallow cut on his left arm from Kiro. Ajax pulled out two vials from underneath his waistband; both containing what appeared to be dark red liquid.

Kiro thought for a moment. Blood? s**t! He carries different abilities with him that way! "Matt, this isn't good." Kiro muttered quietly to Matt as they watched him down both vials in one gulp.

Mathias took off like a shot without thinking. He interposed himself between Gene and the incoming wire and let his blade lick out to intercept the attack. His arms felt the jolt of impact as the wire whipped against his blade. It was strange...like fighting a sword without a wielder.
"Gene! Keep moving!"

Drustwn trotted down the hallway after he and Will had left the room of their previous opponents. He had been afraid he wouldn't know where to go, but the sounds of shouting and battle made it pretty obvious which way they should go. It didn't take them long to draw very near where their friends were fighting for their lives. Drustwn gestured for Will to halt and murmured to him," I don't think just rushing in blindly will help matters. Wait for an opportune moment and strike when the enemy is distracted..."

The fiend was slowing considerably. Digo barely had to exert himself to avoid its attacks now, which were coming much fewer and further between. The beast was bleeding out through the wounds he had dealt it in its stomach. Scalding blood was veritably pouring out of it, though it was beginning to slow now. and the flames that enveloped the creature were guttering and beginning to die out.
Digo decided that it was time to bring this battle to a close. He darted in and breathed in deeply again. He hadn't really known what he was doing the first time, but now he did this intentionally. As he breathed in the flames that remained on the creature guttered down eve more and then died. At the same time the flames that were roaring up around and off of Digo grew larger, brighter, and hotter.
The fiend was gasping for breath now and appeared as though it could hardly hold itself up. It stared at Digo with the eyes of a pained animal. Ready to fight, but unable. Knowing that the end was near and simply waiting for it.
Digo stepped up next to the fiend and extended his fingers straight. Then he thrust his clawed hand up under the fiends chin and into its brain. There was a sizzling sound from the flames around Digo's hand and the beast shuddered and then went still. Digo withdrew his hand and stepped away as the fiend collapsed.
The blood boiled and burned away almost immediately and Digo began to walk back towards his comrades. As he walked he shifted his form back to his normal human form. By the time he arrived in front of his companions he was back to normal, and completely naked.
Kait looked him up and down for a moment and Digo felt supremely uncomfortable.
"Not bad." Kait said and tossed Digo his loincloth which he had asked her to hold onto so that it did not burn away.
Digo wasn't exactly sure what she meant by that, but he slipped his loincloth back on and simply gave her a slight smile. He was exhausted.
Sven looked like he was similarly shot. The man lay on the ground, eyes closed and breathing deeply, coated in sweat. Digo decided to follow his example and also sat down on the ground.
"I hope the others are doing okay." Digo said. "I think we'd be more of a liability than an asset right now."
"Yeah, we'll just have to count on them to handle the rest." Kait said.

Matt barely even slowed as soon as he threw Ajax over his shoulder he repositioned and rushed in at the man. He hurled a fireball from each hand as he ran adn then the distance was closed. He led with his right fist, aiming a punch for the man's face. He held his hammer in his left hand, ready to use it as an impromptu shield if he needed to.

Will and Drustwn made their way through the ruined hallways and doors and roms and to the site of the battle. The sounds and flashing lights made it easy to find.
Will moved forward to the edge of a collapsed wall and crouched there. He knew Drustwn was right. By all accounts this was the most powerful of the experiments that any of them had faced yet. For someone like him, with no powers, and only just relearning his swordsmanship it would be the next best thing to suicide to rush in. He might get Matt and Kiro killed too.
For now his best option was to lay in wait and look for an opening, an opportune moment where one quick strike could turn the tide. And the best part, was they could do it twice. Even if Will revealed himself Drustwn did not have to and wait for a second opening.
And so Will waited. And watched.

Hiro nodded to Xin who seemed to unable to continue his fight. The fight was more than Hiro had expected, but it was quite an experience. He gave Xin one last nod and left. Hiro then and joined his comrades who were still engaged in their fight. It was chaos. Everyone seemed to have their hands full. He felt the ice key in his pocket and it seemed to constantly remind him of its cold presence.

((Not sure if your fights are coming to a close so I'll just join whoever is still pretty busy. Some seem to be on their last legs. So whoever needs help Hiro will join in.))

((Wow... Totally forgot to put in the whole group that is battling against Sjana...))

Malkin gave her change of demeanor no reaction and simply pressed against her swords with his own. He Had hoped to keep her locked up so that Gene could plant a couple of arrows in her from behind. Then the spears thrust up from the ground. Malkin was forced to disengage and beat a quick retreat outside of the apparent range of those articulated cables.
Gene's assaults were similarly disabled as the wires came up from the ground and smacked down his arrows midflight.
Malkin heard the woman's comment about TJ.
"We don't need her. Gene and I will be more than enough to handle you." He stated calmly.
Gene was shocked to see Mathias throw himself in front of that attack so recklessly, but then again that was his assignment for this particular battle.
Gene darted away again firing arrows as he went. He even went so far at one point as to fire one up into the air, aiming for its descent to take it down on the woman from above.

Ajax immediately demonstrated his newly acquired abilities to counter Matt’s attacks. Quickly conjuring up water molecules, he created malleable spheres of water in seconds with just one free hand and sent them flying towards the oncoming fireballs (Xin’s hydrokenisis). On impact they burst into a cloud of steam from which Matt and Kiro both dashed through towards Ajax. Ajax smiled at their persistence. He then coated his large broadsword in the same water as below, only this time the water seemed to have a shocking property to it (Liora’s electricity).

As Matt came at him, Ajax swung his mighty blade sideways at him, allowing him much greater range than Matt’s fists or hammer. The blade was also flailing water as he struck. Kiro was coming up right beside Matt, but even faster. Perhaps he would be able to strike Ajax while dealing with Matt.

Sjana winced in irritation when he noticed their comrade had protected their archer. Withdrawing each of her iron wires, she then flailed her chain-sword around above her at a whipping speed that created a loud ringing. Gene’s arrows dove at her from above, but were immediately redirected from the chain and blade that was zooming above her. “I think it is about time I go on the attack.” Sjana suggested, though expecting no kind of response.

“That will be quite enough.” A strong feminine voice rang. It was Fidessa. Her overly long brown hair swaying side to side behind her as she approached the heated battle. Sjana ceased her assault and turned her attention to her comrade, Fidessa. They stared each other down fiercely. The tension could be felt among all onlookers as if it wasn’t already apparent from Fidessa’s tightly clutched fists that were almost hidden under her long jujutsu gi’s sleeves. Sjana slowly lifted her blades up in front of her, the chains that connected them daggling down. Sjana’s expression finally shifted to one that wasn’t bored or antagonizing. Hatred was the best way to describe it.

Fidessa turned to the group of intruders all around her that had been engaging Sjana. “You all should go on ahead and help your friends. I got this one.” She proclaimed while pointing behind her. “This big fish and I have a score to settle.”

Matt noticed as Ajax suddenly demonstrated a new water ability that he used to counter his fireballs. Matt also barely cared. He had hold of his hammer by the very bottom end of the handle He placed his other hand against the head of the hammer and brought up the shaft of it to block Ajax's sword swing. As he did he pushed his flames to burn even hotter.
The pillar of flames that rose up around and off of Matt rose up even higher and took on even more of a bluish coloring. Matt was really starting to feel some strain from pushing his flames ability so hard. He had never before made so much fire, for so long, or as hot as he currently was. He honestly didn't know how much longer he'd be able to keep it up. If he was lucky he'd be able to hold up against that sword strike and Kiro would be able to take advantage of the opening and do something about Ajax for him.

"Thanks you for the offer." Malkin said. "But we cannot risk this one escaping to attack us from behind. But you are welcome to join in if you like."
After that, lengthy for Malkin, speech the fiendish Hunter sped away and charged in at the wire-wielding woman again.
Gene followed Malkin's example and returned to putting out a barrage of arrows, though he kept an eye on the new warrior on the battlefield while he did.

Mathias was relieved when the woman retracted the wire away. He made sure to keep an eye on where Gene sprinted this way and that in case he needed to leap to his defense again. Mathias was then surprised to hear a voice ring out, and watched as another woman entered the battlefield. It looked to Mathias like these two had some major bad blood between them. Malkin ignored her advice to leave and instead pressed the attack with Gene following suit. Mathias sighed and readied his sword once more, in case he would be needed.

Drustwn continued to watch, and wait.
