Melody Hikari-Shinu Anson I know, but I can dream, right? XD [I never saw an ingame event for flying Pika... But, they're still a part of Kanto, as of FR/LG. I really can't say anything for probably another week on whether I hope it is or it isn't in. I want the Orange Islands. : X
And lol. There's this douche on YouTube who keeps putting up fake info nearly daily, just to prove that he's better than the major news sites, or something, and a few days ago, his "EXCLUSIVE SCOOP!!!!1" was that the orange islands were in HG/SS.
But on the topic of the islands, the only way they'd get a game is if someone hacked a ROM (or rather, translated that Spanish one into English). I used to wonder why there wasn't a "Pokémon Orange", too, until I learned that the OIs were just an anime-only filler to stall for time while Johto was developed and finished.
And we know the rule about anime-only content. :[
Also, people are stupid. The preview for next week's Pokémon Sunday showed the lady host in front of a big 3x3 paper chart with legendaries on it (Mewtwo*, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Hoenn's weather trio, and Sinnoh's dragon trio), and people are freaking out over the lack of the beast trio and seriously have no idea why they aren't included.
Um, second page, anyone?
* = Proving that Mewtwo just might/probably is in the games, somehow.

I am very happy that Kanto is included. Since a lot of remakes now a days have been cutting content from the originals, it makes me happy to see that the creators aren't just updating graphics and throwing us pretty much the same game. (They already of course have proved many times that they are not doing this, but Kanto is a very important region to me, being the first I ever played.) Again, thanks for the information, and I'll try not to fangasm over how increasingly awesome this game is starting to look. xd

Edit: Yeah, most of his false/outrageous videos are gone, which isn't a surprise. Some of his bullshit that I can remember:
» A storyline battle with Brendan.
» A blurry shot of a magazine showing an HG/SS map of Orre.
» A blurry shot of a magazine showing an HS/SS map of the Orange Islands.
» Saying he lives in Japan SO NO ONE SHOULD QUESTION THE LEGITIMACY OF HIS INFO!!!!!1, even though his IP clearly states that he lives in New Jersey.
» Saying he gets waaaaay more views than Serebii.net, when his overall total views tally at something like 180,000, and Serebii.net gets, like, 2 mil daily.
Um... ********. I know there was more videos. But I can't remember them. Damn.
But here's some fail videos of his:
» HOENN IN HG/SS?!?!?!?! For once, he actually says it might be fake, instead of going, "LOL IT'S TOTALLY TRUE, I KNOW THIS BECAUSE OF MY LEARNINGS" like he usually does. Except it IS fake, because that map is fan-made.
» I FOUND THE EXPANDED JOHTO/KANTO MAP!!!! Except this map was confirmed to be 100% fan-made, as well. 9 __9 And the Gold/Cynthia battle was proven to be fake as well. :/
» LOL HG/SS BOXART!!!1. It's towards the end. Once again, he implies that they're REAL!!!1 and there's no question otherwise. Except that Lugia and Ho-Oh arts are totally fanart, because I saw the originals myself on a Japanese fanart site. :|

It's Flllllllyy.
Not officially confirmed, but c'mon. Out-of-place Pokémon are out-of-place for a reason (GSC starters in the 12th movie, for instance).

I also remember seeing those fanart remake box sets. While they do look cool, they don't look anything like a cover of a Pokemon game would (Full body shot of the featured version pokemon).
And homygod look it the pikachus 4laugh

I'm going to try and use my Jagged Pichu on my competitive team. mad
Am I the only one who DOESN'T want pika to have fly? I don't see how his movepool would benefit from having fly. Plus, if strapping ballons to a pokemon gives it the ability to fly, then can't we also give caterpie the ability to fly by strapping baloons to him? A pikachu with volt absorb would be nice, but that's just me.
Edit: I just LOVE how he put youtube's #1 news source on his profile.

But he does it just to feel special or something. And the sad thing is, he has a legion of retarded fanboys who believe every little thing he spews and will defend him to the death. Because, as one so eloquently put it, "y wud he put it up if it waznit tru?????"
Because he wouldn't lie for attention. Ever. :|
As for Flying Pikachu, Fly wouldn't benefit it's movepool whatsoever, but they'd give it Fly because in Pokémon*SPECIAL, the might-as-well-be-official manga, one of the main characters has a Pikachu who flies using a bunch of balloons.
So it'd really just be a nostalgic throwback to that, especially since, if I remember correctly, the Pikachu flying first appeared in the GSC arc. :>

I'm sure he also got flack from the artists when they found out that their pieces were being used like that/this.
EDIT: I went back over the screenshots again [because I really have nothing better to do, except attempt to catch Ho-oh in Colloseum, finish Silver and FR, and XD, all before HG/SS release], and one of them looks like a potential contest screen. It looks kinda similar to the dance competition, and I think there were four pokemon in the screen, too. And above them were bars of notes.
I will gasm if I can do contests. [Okay, there's something wrong with me if I want to do contests over battles and really want wifi contests to be a new feature. I blame the lack of people with contest Pokemon/enthusiasm out here.]

But there's still absolutely no evidence against contests, so they could still be included. One popular theory is that they're in Kanto, hence why nothing's been said of them yet (traditionally, very little info, if any, about post-E4 activities is released prior to launch.
There's still the inclusion of contest accessories and a Ribbons stat page. 3nodding
