Anna laughed loudly, not bothering to try and contain herself. When he descended his lips on hers, just before she resumed snogging him, she murmured, "I'm not sure I agree with that statement." Though she made no move to forcefully retrieve her arms from his grasp, because she felt she really could if she had to. Quidditch and all that. Also she could always tickle him... with her feet.
Anna stage-gasped, pretending over dramatically to be shocked. Had she had free use of her arms, she would've put one hand over mouth, thus helping the over illusion. Instead, she had to do with her tone and face. "So that pair of gorgeous hazel eyes I saw in the corner of the mirror were yours.... Spying on me, were you?" Even though she'd done no such thing, it was much funner this way.

"I'm not sure you have a choice in that statement." Damian said, referring to the arm statement. While it was true that Anna might be able to wiggle her arms out of his grasp, it would also take her quite a while to do so. While Anna was strong from playing Quidditch, Damian also played Quidditch. Plus it helped that he was a guy.
"Well, you are too gorgeous to not spy on..." Damian replied, smirking at her over-dramatic gasp. He was making that part up of course, because there was physically no way he could have done so because of the whole "no guys in the girls dorm" enchantment on the staircase.
At this point, Damian's tiredness was returning. Since Anna was laying on the couch, he thought for a moment and shifted her over some so that he could lay down next to her, albeit sideways, with his back against the couch's back. His arms still held Anna's arms trapped.

Anna grinned. "Why thank you," she responded graciously, and, should she have been standing, she would've bowed. Not that she could bow in this position, anyway. Even if she attempted to, that would be a very strange, very awkward moment. Because her mouth would be, like, somewhere it just wasn't supposed to be.
.. MOVING ON.
She wriggled helpfully, to allow him a tad more room on the couch, only to, when he was properly settled, stretch briefly and slightly curl up her legs. Facing him, she yawned, half to bug him and half because she was sleepy. "Ya know," she began after the yawn, "They're going to come back sooner or later..." Her voice trailed off, however, for she didn't feel like moving just then.
"Damian," she started again, gazing at his intense hazel eyes, "I can think of a better place for your arms." She grinned, if not a tad sheepishly, and continued on. "Like in those cheesy romance novels, ya know? When the guys wraps his arms around the girl and holds her close?" She inquired, genuine curiosity in her voice. Her grin died slowly until it was just a small, reminiscent smile.
"I used to hate those girls. I used to really despise how they could be so over come by emotions and by guys..."
(I do believe I've fixed it.)

Damian thought for a moment. Anna's suggestion did seem better than the whole "keeping Anna's arms up" thing.
He let go of her arms and snaked his own arms around her waist, pulling her in close. The position felt a bit awkward for a moment because he had never held Anna this way before.
"Hmmm...you're right. This is cheezy. But I don't want to leave this position now." Damian replied with a grin. "Well, can you honestly say you despise those girls now, considering you've joined them?" He kissed her on the cheek.

Anna opened her mouth to mutter, rather futilely, some comment about just what made him so sure that she'd joined them, when she realized that he was right; she had joined them. From the moment she let Damian lead on to the dance floor, she pin pointed.
She, too, felt the akwardness. However, soon a feeling, a feeling that couldn't be described in any other way but warm, engulfed her and she slowly felt the awkwardness melt away.
"Sometimes cheesy things are fun, I've recently discovered." She murmured aloud, though the sound was presently muffled by his his chest. She was rather unsure whether she meant for him to hear it, or if she was simply speaking out loud to herself. Either way.
"Yes and no." She responded honestly after a thoughtful silence.

Damian looked down at her, confused by her last words. Though they were rather muffled, he could still make them out. And they still made no sense. He shook his head and snuggled up with Anna, his arms holding her tight, though not too tight so that she couldn't breathe.
The room was almost completely dark, except for a few stray candles scattered throughout the common room and the fireplace. In the light of the fire, Anna's greyish-blue eyes seemed to shine. "Did I ever tell you have pretty eyes?" he said aloud.
He then mentally slapped himself for saying something that sounded like a cross between a stupid soap opera and a cheesy pick-up line.

Anna smiled a little. "No, thank you." She brought her head up from his chest to look at him directly, unable to help but notice how the firelight reflected in his eyes. How the miniature flames seemed to dance over hazel....
Anna turned over so her back was to him, and tried to fall asleep. However, try as she might, she simply could not get to sleep. It seemed the blankets were against her tonight. Suddenly, a thought struck her. They should go for a walk. She could run from him, and he would never find her. She knew her way around, after all. Then again, so did he. If not more so. They had, after all, shared their fair share of trouble-making. Particularly their first three years.
Suddenly, she sprang from her seat, smoothing out her shirt, and her hair, and began to walk toward the portrait hole. "Let's go for a walk." She called over her shoulder, not bothering to wait for him. At least, not until she stepped outside the common room. She lurked in the shadows at the entrance, hoping childishly to scare him.

Damian was almost dazed at her suddenly getting up and running off like that. Her suggestion for go for a walk was interesting, but there was a problem.
This problem was the temperature. It was wintertime, so the castle was always freezing and the outside ground was covered in snow. Secondly, they were both wearing pajamas. It wasn't like they were embarrasing pajamas or something like that, but they were definitely not thick enough to keep them warm in the below freezing temperatures.
He got up and followed her to the entrance of the common room. Since the portrait hadn't swung shut as it normally did, he assumed it was simply hanging on because she was standing somewhere close to it. But he wasn't going to spoil it for her.

Anna, after much well-thought-out (not really) contemplation, stepped into the light, smirking conspiratorially.
"What do you say we go back to the dance and show them how to really dress?" She grinned mischievously, the possibilities flowing through her mind rapidly like a river. Oh, how she would stand out! And how she loved to stand out. She would be just like Pippa. Oh, Pippa! How long had it been since she'd seen her best friend? Being in different houses, as Pippa was a Hufflepuff, tended to put a strain on their friendship. Or at least one would think so. In actuality, it affected Anna differently than one might expect. It was no secret that Hufflepuffs were looked down upon, collectively referred to and though of as 'the weakest house' at Hogwarts. It caused her to become aggressive, and, well, basically, pound the bloody living s**t out of anyone who made fun of the house.
(I divided it into two parts. Part II in the Great Hall forum)
