Bluh. Today was not a good day. First of all, class is starting again tomorrow, but there's not much I could do about that. Then there's the assigned reading that needed to be done for tomorrow, which would also normally be not a problem. Then there's the fact that I got my grades from the midterm. They were...not at all what I'd hoped for.
For the most part, they're not terrible. With one (higher) exception, they range from C- to C+, so they're easily make-upable come finals, but going from getting good grades from barely trying in undergrad to getting mediocre-to-bad grades (because the grading scale in law school is odd, C+, not C, is passing) after trying pretty hard is disheartening. So, I'm in the Principles of Advocacy class this coming semester, whatever the hell that is. All they've really said about it in the past is that it's for those who didn't do so well on Fall exams to help them do better on Finals. This sucks for a couple different reasons, one of which is that I was looking forward to Criminal Law. Another is that I *really* don't want to be in the class for people who didn't do well on exams, but I know I need to be. So I'll be following the school's advice and taking the class.
All in all, not a good day. At least the drive up wasn't bad.

Am I the only one here who would have issues drinking water supplied by a company named after a type of poison?
The case I'm reading for tomorrow involves contaminated water provided by Hemlock. I just can't get over when they keep saying the people were drinking Hemlock water. gonk

It's like those people who live in Tornado Alley...and are surprised when their house is destroyed by a tornado. Maybe those people didn't know what hemlock is?

The thing is, it was contaminated by sewage, not hemlock. Still not a very promising thing to name a water line.
