Not needing to move too far she scooped up the siff, rather than limp, bodies of the newly destroyed snakes and dumped them where they should be; the wheel burrow. Letting her eyes shift around, she bagan another walk around the garden. Searching from the edges first then moving closer, adn closer towards the center. The place was starting to seem rather empty, and the girl was wondering if she had taken them out one at a time, rather than two at a time, perhaps the mission would last longer. Then she mentally smacked herself. Why the heck would she want this pain in the butt mission to last longer? Almost forgetting what she was supposed to be doing. Her attention was drawn to a slight rustling of leaves. Stepping towards it, she could see on eor two creatures among the weeds.

Sneaking towards them, though she wasn't really sure if the snakes could see her or not. They could probably smell her though... or 'heat' sense her. They did do that wierd thing with their tongues after all... Never the less, she attacked without too much hesitation. Both snakes, though in their hiding space wich should have given them some sort of advantage, were at her mercy. Squirming in her grip, they were dragged out, and dropped. More crunches, though a bit softer, could beheard from that general direction.

They lifted their small heads up in response as they left themselves being half lifted and half dragged out into the open. Small hisses escaped from their mouths as they saw the cause. Still semi in shock after each blow the girl landed upon them, on struggled to snap back, bit its attempt was in vain as it missed by several inches.

(No damage needed to be delt, they are dead. 14>5)

Making a last couple of addition to their spines, Sakeme removed her victims from their place in the dirt and headed over to the wheel burrow where she would discard them. Afterwards, she looked around again. "Hey kid, find anything yet?" Her question was obviously directed towards Elruda. Though, whether she answered or not was dependant on how much she was concentraiting on the task at hand. For now she would just relax a bit until directed to do something else.

Elruda did not even turn her head to look at Sakeme, but somehow still, the other would get the feeling that the Hyuuga princess was indeed looking at her. "Snakeshells..." She whispered. "Fragments of chakra everywhere." They had to lead somewhere, but dammit, she has been following this trail for ages with her Byakugan and it still kept going! Wait-what if... A diversion? She mused. Would they be clever enough to create one? Or possibly...there were so many young garters that they had spread in all directions...meaning, instead of following the individual pathways with her eyes...the center. She should look instead for where all those bits and remnants of chakra signatures crossed.

Her concentration held strong, even as the distance increased. This was rather indeed tiring, a challenge for her: Byakugan, after all, unlike the Sharingan only gets stronger with constant training. While the older shinobi supposedly starts to have deterioration in sight and chakra levels, not the members of the Hyuuga family. Their eyes grow stronger with time. While perhaps her mother would have no trouble with this...for Elruda, she had to barely suppress a shudder, from chakra draining out rapidly from her small body, by her eyes. She was sure Shikamori was watching too, carefully. Did he except her to collapse? Her eyes narrowed, the pulse of the Byakugan growing stronger. Never.

"You know, Elruda-hime." Said the Nara quietly. "There is no reason for you to press so hard. You're young, Yuuko-hime had much more practice. It simply...takes time." He looked expectantly at the child. "Byakugan drains you of energy. You should take a break."

Cp: 103/115

"Don't insult me." Came the quiet response. "If I can't even first live up to okaa-san's expectations - how then can I surpass her? No...the goal I want to surpass..." A soft pause. "Some day, I will protect the peace between Konoha and Ame. And then, one day...in aniki's place, I will surpass otou-san...and ojii-chan!" For the title of Kage.

Shikamori laughed, though his laughter...was a bit sad...?

"And how do you plan this, Elruda-hime? How can you prove to the villagers to choose you over a Senju - a legacy of the founding Shodaime?"

Cp: 100/115

"Shodaime was a great guy, but I get the feeling he was also a git." Commented the child. "It feels like...chunks of Konoha's history was missing..." Her voice trailed off. "Something of grave importance." Her Byakugan almost dropped with the hastiness of her next question, but she wanted the answer...she so wanted to know. "Shika-jii! Why does Senju and Uchiha hate each other?"

Shikamori was taken by surprise.

"A g-git?" Instinctively, he looked around, but seemed relaxed to see no other Konohagakurians around. "Chiisai-hime, don't say that." He whispered, warningly. "Princess and heir of Hyuuga or not...but that alone could be seen as treasonous."

Elruda frowned. "How is that treasonous? I was simply expressing my opinion."

"Express it more subtlely!"

Cp: 97/115

"But it's because I don't understand that I ask! And Hyuuga won't say anything either - it's like...like if the Senju founders were like gods or something! But Shika-jii, no one is perfect!" She took a deep breath. "No living human is infallible. Even though Uchiha was supposed to live in Konoha...why are there many more in Oto? Even Akeru-kun...he looks so wary at passing Senjus...as if there was something to be cautious about...like if they would hurt him..." A pause. "Even okaa-san says the forest and the stoking fan are like the heavens and the sea...never meant to mix..."

"They're just your imagination. Just concentrate on finding the nest." Said Shikamori flatly, the Nara's voice suddenly cold. A knot had formed in his stomach, as the Hyuuga princess...he knew very well what her mother was referring to: their own team's tragedy. Senju to Uchiha, the shield to the sword, those wishing for peace to the warhawks... Ever since the beginning, it had been ill-fated. And it continues to be ill-fated today...an inescapable cycle.

How bitterly ironic - like the founder to Madara, Zephyr-sensei had ended uup fighting but in his case, felled his own student in that same damned valley.

There was no reason to tell her the full details of Konoha's bloody story - or of the tragedies that that village, precious though, had inevitably become stained. Poor Elruda. It was better for her to remain ignorant.

For, at the whims of the Elders, no family - not even the Hyuuga nobles were safe.

Uchiha had once been massacred on a whim - if indeed, if indeed the death of her father - the former Hokage Lord Rasen - had spurred on a Civil War, if Hyuuga had gone on insisting on defection...there was no doubt that if Hyuuga had defected, none would be spared. It still made it cold for him to think...that person, what was the meaning of such? Did he not even consider...? His hand clenched. That b*****d. Putting Yokou and this innocent child in danger...unforgiveable. He would've killed him, if Sensei hadn't done so already.

His fingernails bit into his palms.

He really wished that he was the first to take the brunt...that this girl was really so...damned intuitive...

Elruda seemed taken aback by Shikamori's abrupt response. "A-ah...h-hai..." She mumbled, and spoke no more, concentrating on her task - or so the Nara would probably think. Elruda couldn't suppress the sinking disappointment. What was there, what was really so wrong about Konoha that he couldn't tell her... And yet, Shikamori and even her mother...excepts her to full heartedly declare her loyalty to Konoha...

Her father's words floated into her mind. Rasen always found his daughter's logic funny:

That's because a Hidden Village is like a very jealous woman, Elda. Sometimes, she's more trouble than she's worth. You'll understand when you are old enough.

...

She really doesn't understand. What defines loyalty? Simply to where you are born? Elruda didn't think that was fair. Okami-sama certainly hadn't asked her 'hey, which of the shinobi villages do you want to be born at?' Actually, come to think of it, he didn't even ask her 'hey, do you even want to be a shinobi?'

The perceived images cleared as she concentrated...there was a...a huge snake! It was sleeping...? But without warning, it's head reeled up, yellow (though how she knew Elruda does not know herself, with her vision grayed out color-wise) orbs flared. For a full cold moment, Elruda felt as if the snake could see...no, sense that she was watching it.

Without warning, it bared it's fangs. Surprised, and with how realistic quality her Byakugan provided the distant image, in shock, she stumbled back. Falling... No, maintain the Byakugan! She must not lose the position! And stopped. Shikamori had caught her.

"Six hundred and fifty meters north 68 degrees west..." She said breathlessly, as the lines of the Byakugan faded.

The Nara smiled. "Good job, Elruda-hime. Lead the way?"

Only a nod answered him.

Giglamesh also noticed he didnt see nor hear the rebelious group, nor did he see the takamichi boy. "...dammit......" He would take the radio of his right back shoulder, and begin to change the frequency on it. "Takamichi roy!......my location is four clicks south...just as it said in the mission profile meet up at the location as soon as you can over." He would let go of the talk button, he was pretty sure roy had a radio, f not he was going to have to run back to find him wich would be major pain in the a**.

Goddammit... why did he have to do this? He hated these damn missions. He wanted to do on the missions he picked. Normally the easy ones that he could easily pass without much effort. Either way, he didn't have a choice in this and it was really irritating.

Gig's voice came booming over the walkie talkie. "Dammit, shut up, I know." He grumbled as he stood looking over the badlands.

He knew why this place was called that and he hated it really. But either way, he was here now and... what the hell was that?

In the distance, a cloud of dust began to rise and roll in the distance. It wasn't a scorpion as it was going to fast but it couldn't be a ninja, even a group of ninja as the cloud would be deformed, not uniform like this one. It was a single medium sized object going pretty fast.

"The hell...is that... a car?! What the hell's a car doing all the way out here?" Pretty soon gunfire could be heard. Roy jumped. "GIG! GET YOUR a** OVER HERE NOW!"
