This is an relatively empty desert that guards the front of Iwagakure. It is incredibly hot during the day and a ninja freezes at night. Hardly anything grows in the Kara Badlands, and even less animals make a home out of it.
The animals that do live in Kara are mostly poisonous reptiles and deadly insects. They can be fended off easily, with wary and watchful eyes, however. The plants are mostly water-based, a second source of water outside of the river in Abunai Canyon.
This is one of the only two ways a person can enter Iwagakure. However, unless the ninja is skilled (or incredibly lucky), they need an Iwa nin guide to make it through unscathed (and alive).
Poisonous Animals and Poison Extraction DCs
To extract poison from the animals here you first need milking equipment: a jar and a thin piece of membrane.

Reck walks to the badlands waiting for Keiko to show up so they can start training. "Hm, wonder where she is?"

Keiko walks up behind Reck, "Hey! Sorry I'm late!" Keiko smiled. "We have little time to train before we have to go back."

"and...Substitution!!" And when her hand hit his face he flew into the wall behind him. "ok...that didnt...quite workout..." He shakes it off and walks back. "Ok, one more time."

Keiko steped back a few steps and put her hand back into a fist and sarted running to Reck...

"Substitute!!" And when Keiko hit Reck he went flying to the ground. He jumps up while rubbing his jaw. "Nice Punch. Ok, I think my face has taken enough of a beating today. Ready to head back to class?"

Keiko started off slowly walking with a huge backpack on her back, she enjoyed what was out in the hot desert; peace and no one else. Keiko started to jog slowly and then a little faster. About a mile later she brusted into full running, as the sun beated down on her she slowly came back down to a jog. She came down to a walk, she stoped and set her backpack down to get her water. She took a sip of it. What shall I do now? AH! Keiko found a hard packed sand wall, she kicked it, she kicked it again, and again for a hundred times. She punched the wall two hundred times and fell to the desert floor. She got up and grabed her back pack and slowly made it back to Iwagakure.

Ark hurried back to the Badlands to train. '"Ok!'' he said ''Time for some training before the Chuunins!'' he looked around for what he could do. ''Well I could always makes some clones I quess.'' He did the handseals and said ''Bushin No Jutsu!''
Like ormal nothing happened. Ark sighed and decieded for every time he didnt do a clone, he would do 100 push-ups. And so he continued.

After a while of doing the push ups, Ark decieded to try the family move. this would proboly be the move that would help him through the Chuunins. He did the hand seals: Tiger, Horse, Boar, Dog, Moneky. He then focused all of his chakra he had on one of his Kunais' and said ''Kuamari Family Technique, Kasei no Jutsu!''
To Ark's suprise, it worked. He had finally done his best technique with flying colors. The Kunai he had grew about 2 times its size, good enough to be a small sword. Ark's face shined up. With all the testosterone running through his system, he ran around the badlands cutting down dead trees, hitting rocks and on occasion, going for animals. By doing this jutsu correctly, Ark was one step closer to being ready for the Chuunin Exams.
