Batsu heard Shinzu leave and immediately followed. He wasn't needed here anymore and wanted to do some hardcore training before doing anything else. Not only that, but he also had some research to do for Mayumi-san. Ah, the life of a medic was never done.
The boy sighed as he quickly climbed a tree and started jumping from branch to branch... eventually making his way out of the grove.

15+63=78 PASS Masaraku gave a final sweep of the battlefield, in the lull of action she summoned five clones. She looked around and saw that Batsu and Shinzu had ran off, the enemies were dead. The swordsman was still there though. She walked towards him, her clones following. "You know, when I get a bit older I am going to wield Hiramekarei and be one of the swordsmen, just like you." The guy was skilled, she had to give him that.
18+63=81 PASS She turned around without waiting for an answer and said, "I've got training to do, but my name is Hoshigaki, Masaraku, and I look forward to serving alongside you in the future." Her clones drew their swords and slashed them in front of them, Masa followed shortly thereafter with three slashes of her own. The clones had some catching up to do, but they were close.

5+63=68 Masa dashed forward and sliced a tree, then leaped back, her clones repeated shortly after in perfect unison. "Again, on three. One. Twoooo. Three!" All of the clones ran forward with Masa and slashed at the tree twice. Bark flew in every direction as they skinned the the and gave it a somewhat tribal-esque tattoo.
3+63=66 Masa and her clones launched an attack on another tree, but this time they ran in a line, Masa attacked the bottom, a clone jumped off her back and attacked it higher, a third clone took off right after him and pulled himself onto the clones' shoulders before jumping, striking a few feet above the other clones hit. the final two clones flanked the sides of the tree.

Success Masaraku slashed at one of the clones, who quickly blocked and kicked at Masaku's feet, dragging one out from under her and tripping her. It was weird fighting herself with her own consciousness, and actually beating herself. She fell back and the sprang back up, kicking the clone in the chest and bringing her sword down into its neck. The clone sank back into a puddle.
Success Masaraku eyed the other clones, three against one now. Fun times. She ran towards one and thrust her blade at it with her nodachi, simultaneously lifting her right leg and kicking another clones blade from its hands. The thrust was avoided, and the disarmed clone grabbed Masa's leg. She kicked off of the ground and wrapped her other leg around the clone's throat before stabbing her sword through its head and landing gracefully as it dissipated.
Success Two clones left, Masa smiled at them, they both ran at her, one aimed high, one aimed low, Masa crouched and leaped between the two blades, chopping off the hands of the one that went high and landing. Suddenly she felt a blade at her throat. "Checkmate." The clone said as it dissipated at Masa's will. They now knew how to fight like her. Ruthless. Giving sacrifices for the greater victory. She was done here. She began to leave and waved at the swordsman that had been watching her. It was time to see what was left of the village after that invasion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suiton: Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu (Water Release: Water Doppelganger Technique) Cp cost: 15 per clone Requirements: Kirigakure or Amegakure or Takigakure, Water Affinity, Chakra control 20, Ninjutsu 18 Training: 3 stages Stage 1: Ninjutsu DC: 28, Making a solid clone from water. Masaraku ran into the grove an used the surface climbing technique to run up a tree, the last thing she needed was to be bothered. She began filling the area with mist, so that none of her teammates would find her. Most of the people that knew that technique were jonin. Her stupid teammates would never find her, but it wasn't like they would try to, they had a secret mission to go on.

Shinzu moved quickly through the grove, keeping an eye out for Masaraku. Soon he wandered into a partiuarly thick piece of mist, which could only mean the hidden mist jutsu. He continued to move, heightening his senses and being very careful. "Masaraku is this your jutsu? If it is, please come down and talk with me..." He yelled out, even as he prepared himself form some kind of crazy. "Look, if you're here... I'm just not quite ready for a relationship ok? Ninja lives can be hard, and deadly..." Shinzu's voice trailed off, memories of his desceased father coming into his mind. Slowly one tear, followed by more, came down. Clentching his fists Shinzu yelled out. "I don't want to lose a loved one, not again!"

Masa landed behind him, her sword pressed to his throat, her breast pressed to his back. "I don't want you to love me Shinzu. I want you to defend me, fight for me, be my friend, and be my teammate." The sword moved away and she added, "Why is that so hard for you to do? You keep calling yourself our leader, but you can't even manage to snuff a few fires because you don't want to pick a side. Your a weak man Shinzu." The blade nicked Shinzu's leg, if he even felt it she would have been surprised, but the Scent of blood drifted into the mist, and Masaraku faded back into it.

"You know, that's exactly what Batsu says?" Shinzu said, entirely calm, even as Masaraku pressed her sword to his neck. "So if you want me to pick a side, fine I'll do it. I pick Batsu's. You have given him nothing but hell from the beginning. Don't think for a second that doesn't make me your friend. I would do anything, for either of you!" Shinzu yelled into the mist, his anger slowly growing. "You've made very little effort to associate with us, outside of missons. Even when we were training, you only stayed for a little bit, and then left. So I'm sorry if you feel left out, but it's your own fault. If you truely want us to be a team, come with me, talk to Batsu, and go on this mission, eh?" Shinzu said, turning to leave. "Face it, your 'loner, better then thou' attitude is the reason for all of this. Frankly speaking, you're the truely weak one here. I think that you act tough all the time, because you think you are alone." Shinzu said, stopping after walking a few yards. "You realise all of us fear being alone? You're not so different fromt he rest of us? Batsu is more or less alienated from his family too, since he doesn't specialize in Genjutsu? Did you know my mother wouldn't let me enter the Academy? You realise how lonely it feels when you have to bury your father, and the only thing you have to remember is his headband?"

The mist began to fade, revealing a tear stained Masa, her sleeves were pulled up now her sword back in its sheath. "Yeah, I watched both of my parents get buried in an avalanche, that for some divine reason I escaped. At least you have one to hold on to." She looked down for a moment, getting qiet as she tried to stifle her tears, "I try more than you know Shinzu, but last time i tried to train with you Batsu held a kunai to my throat, and thats not the kind of teammate I want to have watching my back, and if you want to take his side, go for it. Maybe you're better off without me, I don't even really want to be here any more with the way things have been going. I want to train together, but Batsu always knocks things to the extreme when we get into arguments. And I want to be a ninja, but with the Mizukage's comment back there." She paused again, sniffled, and said, "I get it, nobody in my clan is a scholar, nobody in my clan is a gentleman, and nobody in my clan really knows how to keep their temper in check, but we get kept around because we make up the strongest military force, and that is our nitch. We've turned out fine warriors, medics, teachers, councilmen, and yet we still get dirty comments behind our back. Thats how I feel about Batsu. I can try and try and he is just going to take things to far, so what is the point of even trying?" Her tears had run dry by now, and it was just a hint of frustration. Her hand went to her head and then wiped her eyes. "Listen Shinzu. You are the balance in this team. You are our rock, and I need you to be more stable. Speak the ******** up and grow a pair if you want to keep calling yourself a leader or I will strike you down. With no jonin to guide us, we need a strong leader with a strong presence. If I have to be a villain to make sure I can get my dreams, then I will be that villain."She began to walk towards him and dipped down, reaching her hand into a puddle and summoning up a giant ball of water. "Consider us even. I owe Batsu one too." She dragged the ball over him, dragging him back a few inches and getting him wet. "I honestly don't think going on a mission to heal some villagers is the best use of the time we have left before the exams, but sometimes its not about us I guess." She strutted out of the grove, covering up her tears with her own cattiness. "You do the same thing Masaraku. Five seconds ago, you literaly held a blade to my neck, and then proceeded to nick me with it. In that regard, how are your actions so much better then his, huh?" Shinzu said, as he shook his head and followed Masaraku out of the grove. "As for the Mizukage, I simply think he meant that your clan can be tough to deal with, and he understands that. However, he does reconize your abilities, considering your quirks more then worth dealing with at times." Shinzu said with a shrug.

The grove was a rather expansive location, considering. There was room enough in the strangely enclosed wood for people the train without ever disturbing one another... although, Byakuran supposed, that was the point. The Shinobi world was a world of solitude... a world of secrets... a world where the only person you could truly depend on was yourself... he gave a content smirk. Yes...in that way it was very fitting. He opened his eyes with a slightly more serious expression. But he wasn't here to merely muse...he'd done enough of that over his life time and would no doubt do it far more in the future... for now, it was time that he get to work. He took a deep breath, allowing his senses to stretch out ever so slightly, but he jumped. There was no real purpose or rhythm to his movements no overall intention. He flipped, he spun, ran brief chaotic maneuvers, the only thing to him that was important in this moment was that he was aware of every move, that every move was controlled, and most importantly, quick. Calculation and speed were vital in the movements of a shinobi, and because he'd never been to physically strong for a ninja, they were vital for him in particular... Motion, constant motion. All around him the world spun as he himself continued his training, his muscles twisting and turning flexibly as he shifted this way and that. He dodged in imaginary foe, another to the left, the right, above. All the while his face was one of an almost carefree smile as he ran himself through various artificial drills. The goal was to be faster. The goal was to be stronger. It had always been his goal. Always been his drive. To be smarter, to be more skilled, to be better. In many ways, he wouldn't lie, he felt as though he had been dreaming most of his life.
Dreaming of one day becoming better, but doing so little to achieve it, dreaming of one day surpassing all who lived, all who drew breath, but staying inferior. It was infuriating on some level, he wouldn't deceive himself, but at the same time it was now what was pushing him. That feeling that he'd been wasting his time, unwisely spending his hours, was pushing him to a greater height, a loftier stage.

How many hours had he spent in this place now... how many years? How long had it been since he'd been counted as a member of the village hidden within the mist. He'd gone to the academy, grown up alongside other children, laughed, lived and learned alongside them, but always was he the one who passively removed himself from them. Politely, calmly, discreetly, separated himself from them on an emotional level.
It wasn't even because of his particular situation. It was merely the way he was. He didn't really have strong emotions towards much of anything outside his own amusements, a childish trait perhaps, but he found it agreeable, and as such didn't particularly care for others. At least, it should be noted, not in the sense that he considered them as actual people. He actually ADORED people from the standpoint of amusements.
There was hardly anything as entertaining as people, in fact, now that Byakuran thought about it, nothing even came close.
