Marching Band no Jutsu Damn toco. XD And why aren't we best friends yet? I enjoy playing trumpet, but since I got braces, I'm not that good at it (it's never been my primary instrument). I still love it though. I still have scars in my mouth from the evil braces & trumpet combo (after three friggin' years! scream ) ^ The same valve exersice is funn~ mrgreen

See, the wax helps a little bit but only to a certain point. Then, I'm just tired from playing so long. (I finally hit super C the other day, I'm secretly working on this optional part in the Star Spangled Banner, to show this other freshman that I am good at trumpet (He's a stereotypical trumpet player, he thinks no one is better than him.))

you said "i hate people like that"(when marching said "he thinks no one is better than him") i seem to remember that you said you were roleplaying...in other words, you only THINK you're better than 5000 people smile

brinagirl77 hey is trumpet hard or easy to play? It depends. I don't think any istrements is "easy to play" but some people find certain instruemnts easier than others based off of shape/size of lips and what in music they struggle in. if you have trouble remembering complex fingerins, the rumpet might be easier because there are only three valves, but on the other hand, that means that a lot of notes have the same fingerings as others, which may get confusing. I suggest you try the instrument out and decide if it's easy for you or not yourself, to be honest.

I just got my braces off after two years with them on. Basically the range I've been building since then...died. I've been so depressed over it. cry It's bad enough that I was VERY unfairly beat out for section leader and the kid you got it is treated like the trumpet god, but now I really am worse at playing than him. Trumpet playing used to be one of my most favorite things to do, but now I'm embarrassed to even play it. I wish I could talk to my director about it, but he couldn't care less about anyone who isn't one of his precious "leaders."
Almost every time I play I get that weird buzzing at the corners of my mouth. I've never had that before I got my braces off. It embarrasses me like crazy. Especially because this year was supposed too be my chance to play 1st trumpet in jazz, yet I don't even feel good enough about my playing to even sign up. I'm afraid the trumpet-ankle-biter, as I like to call him (you know, that kid who is always trying to show off and who thinks he's all that?), will kick me when I'm down and take 1st trumpet away from me before my embachor is back to normal. And who knows how long that will be?

What I would do is Practice hours on end day after day and week after week and get that what you earned back!! SHOW THAT GUY WHO'S BOSS!!!
