I don't think there's a such thing as a all boy section or an all girl section when it comes to instrumental sections in band.

All the percussion section in the instrumental ensemble are guys except for me. So, don't worry about being alone in that situation. Plus, we have both a female BD and a female drum instructor. It's pretty cool. I love it! heart

To tell the truth, we have 3 girls and 2 guys in our trombone section! [Me being one of the girls.]
But I hear we're supposed to be getting 2 extra guys next year, so there goes the females.

Syllie Do what I do...Just slap them until they give way. They'll get the point some time... My section leader used to bug me, then I started smacking his a** as greeting and he didn't like that too much. heart Only do that if you know for sure that they are pussies, though, and wouldn't take it seriously. 0o You're my hero... heart

I'm the only girl in the jazz band's sax section. I'm also the one with the least amount of experience (about 2 years compared to 5-8 years; I'm not supposed to be in the band).
But we all get along fine, and I do help out the section.

in my band there are about 30 girls and only 7 boys. 3 are trumpets, 1 trombone, 1 tuba, 1 tenor sax, and 1 obo [i dunno how to spell it]. they have to deal with us twisted but some times they're really annoying...

The females in my band:
1/1 Drum Leader (2nd chick DL we've had in a row) 1/9 Drum Line (section leader) 1/4 Tuba (ditto) 5/7 Clarinets 3/4 Flutes (one of them is the section leader) 1/3 Alto Sax (pseudo section lead) 4/10 Baritones (all BC, one is section lead) 1/5 Trumpet
...I think thats pretty accurate.

I used to be the only girl drummer 4th grade through 8 but now the drumline and pit is pretty much all girls except for 5 guys out of like 15 or 16 people total (3 on bass, 1 on snare and the other in pit)

I'm also a trombone in an all-boys section, except the only other girl in it is mean to me. >.< I'm friends with one of the guys in the section, so I don't mind as much. I used to care that I was the only girl, but now it doesn't bother me as much.
