Man, why wouldn't it die?! Mel took another shot, this time hitting another wall while trying to dodge an oncoming attack. She did manage to roll out of its range for another attack, but she was tired...and bleeding. Kind of a lot.

Her next shot blew off a good chunk of what looked like a claw, which she whooped about for all of a second before getting swatted and sent flying into another wall. She landed with a thud and sort of rolled over, tired and sore and just about done with fighting the thing.

After one more shot (that blew off another chunk of the same claw-like thing) and another incident of getting smacked into another wall, Mel crawled toward shelter and out of the thing's range to rest. Maybe get herself to stop bleeding. There were others that were also trying to kill the thing, right? Right?

After some rest and a bit of neosporin, Mel was raring to go again! She reloaded her shotgun and ran out, gun aim straight for the thing. She even yelled a little over-dramatically, for the heck of it. Which is probably why she caught its attention and got smacked into another wall. Again.
It also hurt a lot more because she actually missed.

One more shot (that hit this time!) and she was out of ammo, so she headed for the exit to try and go find some. There was bound to be some nearby. She hoped. She tripped on her way out and wound up banging her head pretty good, though, and she dazedly walked out in search for some more ammunition.

The umbrella gave a satisfying hit as it connected with the enemy, far more than any other hit.
Renita couldn't remember the last time she'd been back to the apartments, really. Couldn't put her finger on how long they'd been gone. But she'd been through so much since then that she'd been truly looking forward to coming home. The climb to the fourteenth floor was going to be torture, she knew, but God would her apartment be so worth it. Except, of course, she'd come back to find this...whatever it was ruining everything.
Maybe she snapped a little. With a loud battle cry, she ran forward to aggressively whack at the creature with her umbrella.

She'd never really considered umbrellas effective weapons, but this was more than a little satisfying. She wished suddenly that she'd thought to whack more things with it. What had she ever needed a knife or a fishing rod for?

Upon so much damage, the seed cracks, splits and spreads out, taking a larger form. It is not dangerous yet, but just nearing it makes you feel nauseous.

Suddenly the seed snapped open and the creature seemed to spread out from it. It was larger than it had been, a strange sort of thing like a snake or roots. Renita reeled back, nauseous just looking at it, and then charged back in. Growing monsters were not a good thing!
