"Well s**t." Otto watched as the scarf dissolved. Their previous tactic wouldn't work-----wait, door? Since when was there a door---never mind. Otto's Death abilities always lacked in the observation department anyway. He was better at evading and escaping than anything else. He was never the brightest bulb.
If only there was a runic bucket to get all that acid water out.
Shooting the water would only splash everyone. Zapping it would only make it stronger. Probably. Unless he wanted to lose his arm he wasn't about to grab at the gold object anyway.
"Any bright ideas, Queenie?" Otto grumbled as he started looking around for something to fish out the object.

Gale, utterly ignoring Sam's snarky attitude, as well as Otto's sass, instead focused on the pool in front of him. "Guess we'll have to figure something else out, then," he muttered, mostly to himself, though it was out loud for the others to hear. He dipped his own scarf into the pool, just a little, to test the same theory again and wondering if he would be able to move fast enough to grab whatever it was without having the scarf dissolve.
"What's that sound?" Peyton interrupted the leadership discussion as a whooshing noise caught her attention, faint at first, but growing louder. The source of the sound made itself terribly obvious as could water swept in and curled around their ankles. "Oh that's just lovely. If you boys are quite finished, I think maybe we should just start moving." They didn't have time to stand around and debate s**t. The maze was beginning to fill with water, and Peyton really didn't want to still be there when it reached the ceiling.
Not waiting to see if anyone was going to follow, the dainty teen turned and started down the long corridor, thin arms tightening around her torso as a fresh wave of shivering sent her teeth chattering.
At the first fork she paused, glancing over her shoulder briefly to check who was following, then turned to gaze down either direction before turning right. It was a maze, mazes were meant to be challenging, and without making any moves there was no way to even begin trying to figure it out. At the next fork she turned left, then right at the next two junctures.
- Your goal is to find the EXIT of the maze. You can take a total of four "moves" at a time by rolling 4 6-sided dice. If odd you moved left, if even you moved right. You can continue rolling 4-6 sided dice for as long as you need until you find the exit.
- If you move 10 odds and 10 evens cumulatively, you find the exit! - If at any point you roll 6 1's cumulatively in all your rolls you end up back at the entrance again! You have to regather your rolls/ they reset. - If at any point you roll 6 6's cumulatively before your rolls reset you have found yourself a nifty set of Runic Daggers. These do 2d6-4 damage for 5 turns. - For each 3 you roll, take -1 damage from the falling and crumbling ceiling

Taym shot them all a look like it was somehow their fault this had happened and not his, and fell into step.
First there was the clunk that startled her enough to raise her weapon, though nothing happened beyond shadows shifting. Then there was the clang as another straggler dropped onto the pile of weapons to join them. And then there was the rather ominous ticking noise.
Crap crap crap.
"Maybe," Stormy told the Moon with a reassuring smile nevertheless. "We'll find out in a second. Watch my back."
Approaching the East cabinet, she checked for scorpions or other nasties with her spear at the ready (she really didn't want a repeat happening) before using her key to try and unlock it.
Okay, apparently 'blowing something up' wasn't really working right then. In fact, it was time to RUN FOR THE HILLS and get back into the sand.
Which meant it was time to find a new weapon, because after handing all of them over to Mark he'd gotten kidnapped by the Cenobites and that's probably what was underneath the sand right then. Sigh.
No weapon right here, though. Try again. Aren plz come back, Aren was that you?
"How about none of you ******** die." He gave Jack a hard look as well, very much aware that his overly tall friend wasn't doing so great himself. Still, Ian looked like absolute s**t as well, so it was a total toss up of who deserved the bandages more, to Finn.
Though apparently it wasn't even up for debate as Jack gave up his chance to somebody else. He hadn't realized his good buddy had such a god damned hero complex all of a sudden.
Before he joined the others in their investigation, he walked over towards the box that had previously contained bandages, picking it up and giving it a glance over, as well as the floor beneath.

Ticking noises were never, ever good. Like ever. There was never a single time where ticking would be good. As if she wasn't already totally, 10000000% worried about the events unfolding, now there was ticking to worry about. With a heavy sigh, Abbi followed after Stormy, pouting and not at all happy about this. When she smiled at the teen, Abbi tried to give one back to her friend but found it difficult when her hands still ached. But protection? Oh yeah, Abbi could do that. Without any flourish, Abbi pulled out her gun and aimed it at the locker, prepared to shoot if anything tried to attack. "Got ya covered!" That was, obviously, very important to add.
But he was really feeling shitty and it was all he had.

GROUP BETA "s**t! Are you alright?" Cass seemed to be concerned for Jack's poison-burn, even if she'd kind of...warned...that touching things was probably not the best idea. Not even intending a full-arm poke, but maybe something with a stick. Not that anybody had a ******** class="spoiler-wrapper spoiler-hidden">

ALPHA GROUP"The royal highness says it might not be a bad idea to dangle the annoying knight in the water and make her fish it out," Ami replied to Sam flatly. Maybe with a tongue stuck out.
With the roll of her eyes, she looked around the room while Gale tried to fish it out himself. "See anything useful?" she asked more seriously. "We could maybe tie our scarves together ..."

Dory had hit his head pretty ******** hard, and spent a rather long time lost in his own mind, before being thrusted back to consciousness by the sound of shuffling and a strange ticking noise under his head.
Sighing outwards, he grasped the first thing his hands went for, a short sword that felt awkward and odd in his hands - having become accustomed to the feeling the of ranseur he was bonded with when he first woke up.
"You guys know the floor is ticking, right?" He called out slowly, sitting up finally and checking his head, making sure there was no serious damage or blood. He knew some of these faces - well almost all of them, actually. "What did I miss?"
The cabinet behind her didn't feel like it could be easily opened without looking at it, and Mimsy had no intentions of turning her back to a weapon-wielding group that largely consisted of strangers. She wasn't stupid.
Stormy must have had better luck with the cabinet she tried, if her question was any indication. Something shifted within the room, followed by a sound that was presumably tied to the appearance of another game participant. A steady tick accompanied the change in the direction of the shadows, and she hoped that it was simply a coincidence. Even if it was, all of her current mental notes were still beginning to suggest horrible odds for their well-armed group.
With a tight grip on the scythe and a stance that began to resemble the crouch before the pounce, she looked towards Stormy, speaking over the uncomfortable ticking noise.
"What did you find? What made you infer that it was a clue? Was there a set of instructions, or an inscription?"
