The water mage looked the blade over closer before his eyes widened, touching it softly and looked at Tala, moving his cane to have water form from the air and attach to Tala's wrists to weigh and slow him down along with his feet. "How did you get this? How? This blade was carved from stone from Sune. How did you get this hand carved blade?" He asked curious and confused with some shock. "She called you Tala. How about you sleep for me and allow me to find my answers then, boy." He said using more magic, a blue light coming from his cane as he moved it as if swirling the air, trying to bring relaxing to Tala to have him rest.

"It's mine!" Tala's only reply came as a growl as he tried to reach for the blade, his eyes widening as watery tendrils wrapped themselves around his wrists, dragging him back... He continued to fight, turning his head away from the light before trying to overcome the sudden feeling of heaviness that was starting to take him over... It seemed to play on the fact he was already exhausted and soon left his knees weak...For a moment or two he continued trying to rip his arms from the grasp of the water before his legs gave out completely and he dropped to the ground... He gave a final growl, casting a fleeting glance towards Rosa before losing consciousness...

The mage watched Tala as did Rosa but Rosa gasped stepping back. She watched the mage approach Tala and kneel down. "Now let's see if I remember how to do this." He said placing his hand on Tala's head and closed his eyes, exhaling through his nose. Rosa rushed over but stopped with water shot up in front of her. "I'm not going to hurt your friend. I simply want to see what is in his mind. I know this stone is from Sune. No one has ever left Sune once they were put there so I wonder to his past and perhaps who he was and why he was in Sune. I wonder how he got out as well." The man said, Rosa watching silently.
"Alright but if you harm him I'll hurt you for it." Rosa threatened firmly. The man grunted nodding and then went silent, ignoring her now as he began to go through Tala's mind, working his way to see Tala's past. He had hopes to see before he was in Sune along with, if there, how he got into the cursed land as he referred to it as, and how he got out of there alive and appeared to be sane as well.

((Lots of reading..sorry - Will continue this in another post (after your reply of course)) xp The Mage would no doubt see the scene as though he were a shadow... perhaps he would see a long, dark corridor furnished with grand tapestries. There was little background noise apart from the occasional crack of thunder that rumbled all around as the corridor became illuminate for a brief moment... His eyes might not have seen her at first, but an old woman would make her way up the corridor, a bundle in her hands... The sound of a bawling child would reach his ears, quickly followed by the clattering of armour as a band of knights rushed up the corridor after her... She wouldn't turn, but merely lift her staff, sending the men recoiling into the nearby walls; then she would vanish, reappearing in the courtyard where a herd of spooked horses would scatter as she mounted her own steed before charging for the gates... Anyone who dared follow would meet a wall of flame at the portcullis, blocking any chance of pursuit... She would then ride through the darkened town, the babe enchanted now, lying silent in her arms... As the Mage would watch onward, the old woman would reach the outskirts, leaving the horse on the perimeter before uttering a spell that seemed to render the writhing tendrils numb... She would then advance, walking through the groaning forest towards its heart. A final cluster of trees drew back as she advanced, revealing a small clearing... Within the centre of this clearing was an Elder Tree... She would advance, uttering her enchantment to see off its guards before placing a palm upon its trunk... The bark would start to peel back, revealing the heart of the tree...within this she would place the child, still locked in a deep slumber... She started to chant, her mantra sealing the bark around the babe and healing the tree before she would then take her leave...

(oh wow that's amazing)
The mage would watch, seeing this play out. He frowned as he watched, not breaking his hold as he kept silent and his body still, bringing confusion to Rosa who wondered to what he was seeing or what was going on, curious and wanting to make sure Tala was alright but didn't want to interrupt if he was doing something that might help Tala. He kept his thoughts to himself as he continued to watch to see as to what was next in Tala's mind, curious to see more of what took place, having remembered that corridor and the castle that the babe had been taken from.

((Heh... sweatdrop another long post)) rolleyes The babe would remain within the heart of the tree until he reached an age where he would be able to survive on his own...Then, he would be reborn into Sune. Within the boughs of the tree would form a crystal fruit, its blue, glass-like appearance would bend the tree's branches as it grew, until it would touch the ground, then, it would drop, cracking open before spilling its package onto the purple grass below... The child would not stir at first and intrigued, the tree's guardians would start to gather round, their eyes, specifically designed to allow them vision in the dark, observed this new creature from a distance before advancing closer... He would awake, fully robed and with the knowledge to learn quickly how to protect himself...The tree had provided him this much, but now it recoiled, resuming the position it had held before the witch had placed the 'parasite' into its womb... The boy would walk unafraid between these creatures and they would back away with some respect, watching wary as the vines which had drawn across to protect the tree from outsiders pulled back to allow him to leave... He would learn within the first day that the forest was not just going to lie down and let him wander as he pleased...and he would return to the safety of the clearing when night fell for protection from the mother-tree. It was beneath its boughs that he would craft weapons to defend himself from the creatures outside the clearing... Several years would pass and the boy would harden to the world outside the mother-tree's protective barrier, returning there only for sleep and protection before one day happening across an old Mage... Caran had seated himself just outside the perimeter, a barrier of thick, dark, fog separating him from the world that was Sune... It was the light of the fire that had drawn the boy close... he watched with narrowed eyes as the man conjured up objects to hand before helping himself to a rabbit he had caught... With easy prey so close to hand, the boy would draw his weapons and lunge - The barrier having no ill effect on him as he leapt over the threshold towards the man... Caran would see the boy with only seconds to react - It was clear Tala had fought creatures mightier than himself for their prey as he showed no fear in trying to push the man from his meal... Caran would recoil, but utter a spell that would throw the boy to the ground... Tala took this attack in his stride, leaping to his feet before making another lunge... Caran would remain unafraid, uttering another spell that would call forth many vines to restrain the boy long enough for the Mage to catch his breath... The image would change now, possibly to pass over the length of time it took to bring some order to the situation; it would be dark now and appeared clear the Red Mage had gained the upper hand... He wandered around the boy who now lay, growling, in a heap on the ground... Somehow Caran had managed to place a collar around the youth's neck which seemed to cause great pain each time he tried to attack...and clearly he'd done that a lot as he was now exhausted... Caran would say something, rubbing his chin in thought before crouching down, then he would offer the boy some cooked meat... It was clear that Tala wasn't initially swayed by the offering, but it would be a start... Caran would remove the collar, allowing Tala to flee back to the forest, but had decided to keep camp outside Sune for a while, but then he would make the decision move on. Growing up in Sune had required fast learning and it was clear Tala had learnt much from his meeting with the Mage... but now this new being was leaving, he was torn between following, or remaining where he'd grown up... It seemed to have been only a year, but it had become clear that Tala had chosen to follow the Mage, as the next image was of the pair sitting on a hill watching the fireworks at the castle... The Darkness that overwhelmed the landscape, forcing them to retreat away from it... The mage would then see the scenes that had played out after that... the pair's meeting with Rosa, the 'death' of the mage...the beast, and the village...

(oh wow that was long O_O lol. Not sure my post can do justice to it lol)
The Blue Mage watched taking it all in, nodding softly. "Ah so the young Prince has met his Princess it seems." he muttered quietly to himself, smirking and chuckled a little under his breath. Once he would see the end to current he would remove his hand, slowly leaning back and stood, releasing Tala from the water and backed up, turning and walked away to the sofa. He turned his head slightly to watch Rosa run up and check on Tala. He admired how they looked together, finding it adorable how he protected her and her him but slowly his smirk faded some as he sighed. He had recognized that darkness that he'd see that Tala and Caran had witnessed.
He sighed watching Rosa checking on Tala. Rosa gently knelt down by Tala, placing a hand on his back softly to see if he was still breathing, wanting to make sure he was alright. Watching his face she softly moved his hair back before gently starting to place her hands then arms under his underarms, gently but keeping a firm hold, lift him up some and began to try and position him to try and get Tala to the sofa so he could rest on something more comfortable than the wood floor.
She would struggle some till she got him up into her arms, or at least his upper body anyway, and when sure she had a good hold she carefully began to move towards the sofa. The mage moved out of the way, watching her, seeing the determination on her face so stayed out of it. When she managed to get to the sofa she gently laid Tala's upper body onto the sofa. Finally she sighed letting her breath out, shaking her arms and grabbed his legs, lifting his legs up and placed them onto the sofa.
Rosa looked over to the mage who was leaving the room, her breathing hard as she wasn't used to moving heavy things such as bodies of sleeping people. She was going to speak but held her tongue when he left the room. Sighing she went out to Meta who was looking around some before watching Rosa get a blanket out for Tala. Going back inside with it she began to unfold the blanket and covered Tala gently with it. Stepping back she watched him sleep, smiling softly, admiring him some before turning and bit her lip before nodding and sighed following the mage into the other room.
"Um....excuse me sir mage, if I may ask what did you do when you had your hand on Tala's head for those few minutes?" Rosa asked gently, her hands resting at her sides as she watched the back of the mage, seeing him look through some books on a bookshelf. It would be a few moments before he sighed turning to face her some, his cane clicked on the hard wooden floor.
"I was just seeing what was in his memories and I am quite surprised. I wanted to know how he got this dagger and I know now how and some answers. I'm astonished but also...impressed and happy." The mage said calmly smiling softly as he now held the dagger again looking it over. He could feel Rosa's confusion and concern of him looking at Tala's memories so sighed after he chuckled. "You are a very good person, Rosa, you are a good person. Perhaps you should begin on your study of your necklace and it's abilities as well as how to use and control them?" He suggested gently, his eyes twinkled with amusement, more so when she stared at him in a stunned way.
"But....how did you know about it?" Rosa asked stunned but he didn't answer just shaking his head and went back to looking the dagger over. Rosa didn't push the topic stepping back once, turning slowly, her eyes on the mage before finally breaking her eyes from the mage to turn her back on him and step out to get her book and read it over at the table. When she got her book from her bag she went to the table, pulled out one of the chairs and sat, starting to read about the history and abilities and who and what the stone was used for and how to use it.

((Trust me, you've written more, I'm just catching up lol*)) Tala would end up sleeping quite for some time - long enough to catch up on what he'd lacked the night before anyway... When he stirred eventually, the day was drawing to a close... He opened his eyes just a fraction at first, then remembering what had happened he leapt to his feet, gravity taking its toll almost immediately and forcing him to stop before he fell over... He saw Rosa, but was more intent on finding the Mage...He still had his dagger afterall... Seeing a light in the next room he stepped past the Princess, not hearing anything she said as he stopped in the doorway...scanning the space for the man before advancing as he spotted the dagger on the table instead... Without thinking, he made a lunge for it...

(hehe kk ^^)
Rosa nodded watching Tala go as she yawned starting to feel a little tired but kept reading, interested in this book and stunned at what she hadn't known before.
In the room the mage wasn't anywhere to be seen but when Tala made a lunge for the dagger water shot up and grabbed him by the waist, holding him in the air to dangle there as it had came from the ceiling. The mage re-entered the room, smirking at Tala kindly. "Ah morning or as it is evening Tala. Did you have a good rest?" He asked calmly, walking over to the table and picked up the dagger. "You made this when you met the Red Mage, yes?" he asked looking the dagger over then looked to Tala, betting he wondered now how he, a mage that has never met Tala would know this.
"I must say though I am quite pleased and happy to see you are well alive." He said nodding gently to Tala, watching his water keep hold of him to keep him off the ground by his waist so he'd sort of dangle and swing if pushed or moved body right.

((Can and will edit if needed)) - ((Take a glance - I finished drawing the Horzun)) Tala didn't approve of being held aloft by the water, and although he tried to free himself from the water, it held him fast. "I made it before I met him." He growled, suddenly ceasing in his futile attack on the liquid before bringing his hands down to the water... As soon as his fingers touched the stream, it turned black as night, coiling round as he seemed to take control before dropping to the ground... "You'll return it to me now." He held out his left hand, tightening his right hand and bringing up a wisp of the black water he was now controlling... He couldn't understand why the man was 'pleased to see him alive,' but that wasn't important... the Mage had His dagger...and he wanted it back - even if he had to take it by force...

"Ah I see you have learned well from him and from yourself. I'm impressed." He said approaching and handed over the dagger, but did not let go as he placed it in Tala's hand, eyes locked on him as he began to um something. The something he was humming was tune that used to be sang to Tala when he was small and couldn't sleep before he had been taken. When done he released the dagger backing up a step.
"Your mother would be proud to see you alive and doing well and she'd be happy to see you found someone you can love." He said chuckling as he then moved to walk past Tala, smiling, thinking what he said and hummed might catch some curiosity from Tala and hoped it would and make him want to know more of what he was saying.

(( Horzun)) Tala couldn't understand why the man was humming... There was some familiarity in the tune, but he didn't dwell on it... "I have no mother." he narrowed his eyes - his gaze still locked with the Mage's at this point... "And I don't love anyone." he knew the man was referring to Rosa. He sheathed the dagger at the first moment, then turned as the Mage passed him and moved towards the next room. The man was humming again... he was curious, but not so much that he was going to ask...at least not yet. Once the man had passed over the threshold and into the other room, Tala collected the smoked fish from the larder before making his way back into the other room... "Come on Rosa, we're leaving." he didn't like residing anywhere too long...especially when there was someone around that was stronger than him...

(that's good ^^ I like it)
Rosa looked up from the book yawning. "Oh? We're going? I thought we were going to rest up some?" She asked standing, closing the book and placed her necklace back on. "Did something happen?" Rosa asked confused and curiously. The mage stood watching Tala sighing shaking his head.
"And to think you had such a wonderful home, loving parents, then that evil witch had to ruin it for you Tala. It was low of her to kidnap you. I failed most of all, I ran to hide, kept myself alone after I failed your parents. The tune is Quiet Music Box just in case you were wondering. It's a tune from the lush kingdom outside Sune. Of course, it lost its beauty for your parents when they lost you that tragic night." The mage said watching Tala with calm eyes, one hand behind his back as his other held onto the cane at his side.
Rosa turned to the mage confusion on her face and in her eyes. "What do you mean? It sounds like you knew Tala's parents and make it sound as though they had been royalty or something. Were they?" Rosa asked curiously, a small smile on the mage's lips but he didn't answer, eyes showing a sparkle of knowing more than he'd said so far.

((Cool biggrin )) "That's a nice story." Tala frowned, listening as Rosa seemed to take great interest... "But it's just that." He couldn't recall anything - even though the Mage had drawn it from the deep recesses of his mind... "Sune is my home, the Elder tree and the Netherbeast my only family." he glanced across at Rosa before shouldering his pack and heading towards the door... "Preach what you will old man, I've known nothing else to prove otherwise." he drew it open without touching the wood before stepping outside...

"Have you ever wondered to how you got to the Elder tree?" He asked watching Tala. "If you wish to keep running then by all means, be my guest and continue your flee. All I state is what I've seen directly from you as you slept." He paused watching Tala before continuing. "I have a skill not many mages learn, or not many of the good ones unless needed for battle. I can view into a person's memories and mind when they rest and as you slept I helped myself to your memories. Dear Rosa wished to stop me worried I was hurting you." He said as Rosa blinked.
"So that's what you were doing? Looking at his memories? I was afraid you were hurting him or placing a spell on him to cause him pain or worse." Rosa said gently, watching the mage then looked at Tala. "When you slept he got down by you and put his hand on your head for the longest time. He told me you were fine but I watched, I was scared he might be trying to hurt you or warp your mind or something." Rosa said gently, watching Tala with truthful eyes, walking over to him. "Do you think he's being honest?" she asked curiously.
