Riley looked at Tyronus who was helping out Pippa. "Is there anything I can do?" She asked. Pippa didn't look so well. Surely there was something she could do. Just watching made Riley feel helpless. She walked over to them and sat down on the other side of Pippa. "Hi," She smiled. "My name's Riley. What's yours?"

Pippa didn't like the sound of that. As far as she was concerned, she didn't plan on becoming a fresh corpse anytime soon.
"Well, as long as it won't hurt," she answered, tentatively holding out her arm.
Suddenly a voice called over from the other side of the fire.
"Is there anything I can do?"
Pippa looked around. A tall teenage girl with opalescent skin was walking over, a concerned look on her face.
She sat down next to Pippa, her deep, raven eyes raking over the cuts on Pippa's face. Pippa didn't say anything. The last thing she wanted was to draw more attention to herself.
Who knows what might come wandering over next...
The girl smiled. "Hi, my name's Riley," she said kindly. "What's yours?"
Pippa paused uncertainly.
"My name's Pippa," she answered, watching Tyronus out of the corner of her eye. Before Riley could reply, she burst out, "Where am I? Did I make it? Is this the Island?"

"It's nice to meet you, Pippa. Yes this is the Island. You made it. Just rest now." Again, Riley wanted to do something but she didn't know what. She had to do something.

"She will be fine, I'm one of the best when it comes to medical needs."
Tyronus placed his tentacle over her wound, filling it with the a puss. The puss quickly hardened into a greenish scab, it smelled of Tyronus, but it wasn't as strong of a stench. The scab quickly began to work, eating dead cells and creating new ones using the tissue within itself. Creating new cells from Pippa would faulter her arm when she got oldder, it was better for Tyronus to use his own.
"It should be fine now, just don't pick it."
Tyronus would wait for the other girl to answer Pippa, Tyronus hismelf didn't know what the islnand was called or where it was located.

"I made it?!" Pippa squealed, her eyes wide with wonder as she gazed up at Riley. "Yes!" She threw her arms in the air with joy, but shrieked out again as her right arm throbbed.
"I just can't believe I'm here, it's been so long!" Pippa grinned, barely containing the excitement rushing up inside her. She turned to her arm, which now strongly resembed a dead, decaying animal of some sort. Running her hands over the bumpy green crust, she mused, "I sure hope this isn't permanent..."

"Well then why did People try to make you extinct?" Rikku asked curiously looking at him, she had completely forgotten about the tick now. "Yeah, if all you do is decompose thing... than isn't that a good thing?" Baralai asked confused. "Yeah... If you guys didn't do it there would be more dead bodies and things everywhere... wouldn't there be?" She asked.

"The new cells for your arm arm permanent, the scab will not. You see, I can clone cells of other creatures, I'll use the nutrients I gained from devouring your dead cells to make new ones."
Tyronus secretly kept a bit of the cells from her arm for later, a bit fo his hunger and a bit for genetic study. He didn't want to get greedy, the scab needed the cells to create more forher arm. The cells created would later serve a purpose for Tyronus id he needed, but other thenthat they were jsut skin cells for the wound on Pppa's arm. The double was still spaking with the twins, aware of his master's actions by the fire.
"The Kansen eventaully started growing too large in number and began to kill living things to make more food. We needed to be destroyed I'm afraid to admit, we became too much like humanity; Greedy and unsatisfied. That won't be a problem anymore, I'm the last and no female Kansen exist today, its for the best for me to be the last."

"Thank goodness for that," replied Pippa cheerfully, smiling up at Tyronus. "So is this some sort of rural city then?" Turning to look at the impressive collection of beings around her, she suddenly realised how hungry she was.
"There wouldn't happen to be any good cafes or anything in this place, would there? I could murder a Big Mac," she said wistfully.

"What is a...Big Mac? Sounds like a really big guy that smells like human sweat that works at a food establishment and spits in the food."
Tyronus made this assumption because he had never been to a McDonalds, though burgers were dead met, he never touched the stuff. The fat and cholesterol made him get bloaty and puff up, like a balloon. He could process too much fat or cholesterol, too much wasn't bad for his system, but it caused side effects. Tyronus decided she could at least stand now and placed Pippa on her feet

"One year in Kansen is ten years in human...So, about ten thouand years an average life span of one Kansen. We live much longer since food is more available to us then most living beings. We can increase our life span by using other living creatures as hosts, adding about an extra hundred years. When a Kansen chooses to use a creature as a host, the Kansen and the creature's life span combine. In exchange for a home and food, the creature is granted a much longer life span and is protected by the Kansen. I however don't want my life depending on a host. Hosting is dreadfully boring for Kansen, they just sit in the body of the host, either eating, sleeping, or watching. Syncing is much better, but doesn't provide as much of a expanded life cycle. To tie it all up, Kansen depend greatly on other creatures to survive, more then most organisms. I hope I answered anymore of your questions with that piece of information."

Pippa smiled as Tyronus set her gently down on the sand. Rubbing the back of her neck, she replied cheerfully, "Well, a Big Mac is a burger, you buy them from..."
She stopped at the confused look on Tyronus's face. "I mean, uh..." She tried to think of a way to explain.
"It's... It's sort of like... An animal." She paused. "A dead cow. Mushed up and cooked and put inside a slice of bread with lots of sauce and lettuce and cheese..." Her mouth was watering as she described it. Hungrily, she bit her lip and took in a long, wistful breath.
"UGH!" Her mouth was filled with the horrible smell of rotting flesh emitting from both Tyronus and herself. Pippa was now tasting it in the back of her throat.
She choked sickeningly, and bent over, gagging and gasping. "Mind you," she spluttered, glancing at her wounded arm, "If this is the stuff that goes into it, I might try being a vegetarian..." She coughed thickly, the deathly taste slowly fading, and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. "How can you stand the smell?" she asked, gazing up at Tyronus in wonder.

"Its jsut how I smell, creatures often don't smell themselves. Do you know how smelly humans are? You just can't smell yourselves, all the sweat and bacteria, lucky I can't smell you. Every creature makes nasty smells, mine is just easier to smell. As for this Big Mac, I want one, its sounds like humans and Kansen have a similiar taste in dead meat. There is plenty of fish to eat, its not polite to leave to get some Bic Mac, the host will get offended."
This girl obviously had knowledge outside of the island, something Tyronus found worth looking into. He knew there was things beyond this floating island, below at Earth. He had never left the island, no Kansen ever has. If he managed to get off of the island, he could spread hismelf through out the world and no one would no. He would have an eye at every corner, a ear in every room. Tales tell that humans on the lands below bury thousands of people a day and the corpses just lay in the ground for years at a time. With such death rates, Tyronus could become immortal and powerful. How to get off the island was a differn't method, one for later.
