::For this brief moment, Deity felt necessary again. He had some purpose. There was someone who wanted him, needed him. The blistering cold of the base of this canyon, intensified more so by the occasionally swift breeze, seems to wash away in the girl's warmth. The warmth of another, an experience he thought he'd never meet again. Of course, she then backs away for a moment, lifting her hand up to his face. The tall Orinian seems perplexed for the moment, his eyes widening as she gently presses her lips against his.
Just as quickly as it happened, Jade moves away again, a stunned look on the boy's face. Despite the circumstances, he did not expect such a response from her. Nevertheless, as she looks down, he looks away for a moment, eyeing the towering mountain peaks that dwarf the clouds, still visible even from the base of this canyon. He still must go out there, but perhaps now for a different reason. Turning his head back down to the seemingly embarassed Jade, whose cheeks are so red by now.
The words remaining stolen from his breath, he lifts his right hand, his index and middle fingers tracing an invisible line up the side of the fair girl's throat. He draws his fingertips all the way up to the edge of her jaw, lifting her head up enough so he can see her green eyes more clearly. He then shuts his own, leaning in closer and returning the gesture, ever so softly brushing his lips across hers. His right hand slips around the back of her neck as their lips part, and his left arm curls just a little tighter around her waist, pulling her closer again. All events aside, she's probably rather cold.::

((@ both- i am alive and well, with no injuries or mishaps. hajji (the insuregents) is a bad shot it would seem. and he has bad luck on getting me. ive had a couple of close calls, but nothing to really worry over. however.......i did get dear johned(broken up with via anything other than face to face, in my case via email) last week, so that has me bummed out. but other than that i am good.

Jade shivered slighlty as she felt his fingers run along her throat for a moment before reaching her chin, though it wasn't from the cold. It brought up unbidden a memory of the last time she'd felt those fingers and claws run across her throat, back when Fierce was still rampaging...and commented how lovely she'd be to eat.
But that thought was driven out of her mind again when she looked up into his hidden red eyes when he lifted her chin, and brushed his lips against hers. She blinked for a moment when he pulled away, before closing her eyes and letting him pull her closer again.
Resting her head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat thumping in her ear, she let herself hold him tighter around his waist, hot tears starting to fall freely down her frozen cheeks.
"I'm sorry....."
The words were barely above a whisper, but as soon as she started speaking, it seemed that she was finally getting whatever bothered her most off of her mind...
"I'm sorry....I thought I was making it easier by leaving....Caine and Tali wouldn't have a reason to plot together anymore....they wouldn't be able to use me against you....that this wouldn't happen again....I'm sorry...."

::Jade's head resting against his chest, Deity listens quietly to her soft words. He stares off into the river now as she speaks, realizing what she means. He was always oblivious as to why she ever left him, and never came back. That's as good a reason as any, he'd assume. Though in a sense, all she did was let their brothers go solo, rather than team up. Not much has changed.
Whatever the case in the past, she is back now. She has more friends to protect her now. Keno, her adopted big brother, is a prime example. Now with the mindset that he will return to Earth, she now has Deity as well. He can only pray that he will be able to prevent something so awful from happening again. As the Tonepian hears Jade's apology, he hugs her tighter for a just a moment before loosening his hold, reassuring her that he holds no ill will towards her. Brushing his thumb across her left temple, he kisses her crown softly, lingeringly, before lifting his head to speak.::
You've no need to apologize....you weren't to blame...

Jade just stood there in silence, letting Deity hold her tight as the tears slowly subsided. She had felt guilty, leaving him like she had, without so much as a word of explaination to him or anyone. And then she came back, for whatever reason, only to have to witness Deity transforming once again. But not to protect her, but Satomi instead. She held no ill will towards the other girl, rather, she liked her a lot. But it was still strange, watching a man you had loved so deeply and still did secretively, go through such pain to protect someone else as he had you once....
The girl shook her head slighlty, loosening her left arm to scrub the lingering tears away from her eyes. She didn't want to think about that. Satomi was safe again, she had Taliman. And Jade.....
She lifted her head and smiled up at him, ever so slighlty. She didn't know what to say to him, whom felt as though she did nothing wrong, so Jade just smiled.
And I've....I've got Deity again....
