Jade stretched as she walked out of the hotel in Tonep Capital, one not for the really rich and such, but for more along the lines of the middle area. The room was comfortable enough for her, especially considering she was sick of spending anymore nights sleeping out in a cave in the Eunric Mts.

She had realized the previous night that sleeping in a cave, after having gone to the large city not too far away, was possibly the stupidest thing she did. She was sore and tired and frustrated, but by spending a few days in the city, she could always travel to the mountains to look for Deity if he was still there.

She stepped out into the sidewalk, looking very much refreshed and clean after a long shower, her long hair pulled back behind her head loosely, the Seinorei still across her back. Jade had on a different outfit than the one she had been wearing, which was disgustingly dirty.

Jade had bought this on here on Orion, something that suited her tastes since she still had extra money thanks to Angel. A green bandana, tanktop, black jeans and green jewl bracelets decorated her wrists. And a pair of glasses like Deity had that his her green eyes from sight. She was, however, still quite short in comparison to most around her, and stuck out a bit because of that.

She sighed and looked around the large city. Now where can I start looking today....? It's not going to be easy now that he knows I'm around....but is he here...or in the mountains...?

Frustrated, Jade started walking, deciding it best not to start worrying and searching on an empty stomach.

::A large, dark room. All that can be said of it is that the floor is a pearl white. Numerous openings in an enormously high ceiling - probably only a few feet wide - act as windows, through which mysterious white light can shine and illuminate large ten-foot wide circles of the floor, placed intermittently every few hundred feet. Other than these bright spots, the entire area is as dark as the mind can fathom; one cannot see their hand two inches in front of their eyes.

The eerie silence is shattered as the sound of flesh on flesh permeates the echoing room. The sickening thud is followed by the sound of bones fracturing, and a falling body is heard as a familiar figure tumbles across the floor. Rolling to a slow stop in a circle of light is Deity. He's in human form, wearing his usual red headband, glasses, button-down shirt and jeans with his leather boots. He pushes himself onto his right knee, his left arm wrapped around his ribs as a trickle of blood drips down his jaw. Coughing for a moment, he closes his hidden red eyes and takes a deep inhalation in an attempt to catch his breath. Before he can, however, a second leather-clad figure looms over him, swinging its leg and smashing the toe of its boot into Deity's left temple.

His head snaps to the right from the force of the heavy blow, his body sent sailing through the air again. He slams into the ground, bouncing over another spotlight before skidding to a dead halt in another. He's now lying flat on his back with his arms and legs spread out, his body curling inward and onto its side again as he hacks up blood from his mouth, droplets on the floor and his cheeks now. Ominous footsteps reverberate off of the seemingly nonexistant walls of this place, portending the inevitable arrival of Deity's attacker. Into the light he steps, revealing himself to be none other than Fierce, Deity's dreaded demonic alter ego. He has a twisted grin on his face, lifting his right foot before smashing it down on Deity's head. The strange chilling aura and black mist that tend to surround him are no more for some unknown reason.::

...now....what does he think he's doing...? You can't get rid of me...I'm everywhere, you puny little boy...

...gughh....n-no....that's n-not....true....

...ohh, but isn't it? It's as pure and true as....your...hatred of me....just because you don't like me...doesn't mean you can just...discard me...

::Fierce giggles childishly to himself, pressing the sole of his leather boot down harder against Deity's right temple, just enough not to completely cave his skull in and kill him. Deity lifts his arms and begins pushing and shoving at the devil's ankle, weakly trying to get him off. He may as well be a child trying to push a house across the road.::

....no! You're j-just...just an apparition....a side-effect...without Deity, you d-don't...even exist...

::Fierce's face contorts into a malicious frown, and an animalistic snarl roars from his throat, resounding deafeningly throughout the chamber. He forcefully pushes harder against Deity's head before kicking him across the floor a few more feet. He stomps his way over in a single long-legged stride, dropping to one knee and snatching Deity's throat in his right hand. His black claws digging into the sides of his neck, the abysmal eyes of the demon move in close to stare coldly through Deity's, the boy's back arching so he may face Fierce.::

So you say...I'm just a phantom....a spook? Then I'll haunt you forever...coward!!

::Fierce stands abruptly to his feet, yanking Deity up with him and squeezing tighter around his throat. The boy opens his mouth to speak, but he can't, grasping the demon's wrist with both hands. Fierce growls louder and louder, his hot breath rolling past Deity's face as the light above casts shadows over his face. He then begins to smirk again, his black eyes narrowing as he tilts his head to the side, ignoring the pounding fists of his helpless mirror self.::

...you've got it wrong, boy...I'm the one in control...you cower in fear of me every ******** moment of your miserable...existence...if you can call it that...you're too weak...it's unavoidable. Soon you'll be the invisible one, trapped silently in back of my awareness...while I have my....fun...

::On the brink of suffocation, Deity is mercifully released from the vicelike grip of the beast. Deity falls down to his knees, coughing and wheezing as he lets the oxygen back into his lungs. Fierce just stands over him, looking down at Deity as he waits for some sort of verbal response. Shaking his head slowly for a moment, Deity speaks hoarsely, looking down at the illuminated floor.::

...y-you're...wrong....we're the same....you're th-the shadow...that Deity casts in the light....without h-him...you....are n-nothing...

...so to get rid of me, you'll get rid of yourself? Is that how you plan to do things...? Gutless child...why would I...let you do that...?

...D-deity's....not...a killer...the blood y-you spilled is stained...on his h-hands...to remove it, he'll do wh-what he must...

::Deity still facing the floor, Fierce appears to grow more and more infuriated with his weaker self. He bears his shimmering white fangs, his claws extended as he thrusts his right hand down, stabbing his fingernails into Deity's left shoulder, evoking a scream of pain that echoes back to both of them. He roughly forces him to his feet and snarls in anger.::

You are nothing without me, worm!! You're weak!!

::The demonic juggernaut rears his neck back before slamming his forehead into Deity's face, smashing his glasses and causing them to fall off of his head. Reaching up and digging his left claws into Deity's other shoudler, he repeatedly pounds his crown into the boy's skull, his black headband soon becoming drenched in Deity's scarlet blood. His old red headband is torn away from the attacks, likewise falling away as his neck snaps violently back and forth. Rearing back a final time, Fierce headbutts Deity again with a sickeningly heavy blow, a thick crack heard as the boy flies backwards at an incredible speed. He tumbles and rolls backwards, landing somewhere between two spotlights, out of sight.::

...nothing!! ....he can't do it! He won't do it!! I'm invincible...he can't....he can't stop me...

::Another impact, and a few seconds later, Deity falls almost straight down in the center of an illuminated circle, his limp body jerking from the rough landing. Lying flat on his back with blood dripping profusely from his forehead and nose, he coughs once, without the energy to do more than that. Fierce likewise falls from the sky, landing over his bloodied mirror image, breathing heavily with sweat falling down the sides of his face. The blood falling from his headband is shared by both warriors, drawn from one and spilled by the other. The devil seems to also finally realize that one cannot exist without the other. He refuses to accept it.::

....n-nothing can....nothing can....nothing can...st-stop me...

Shh! ...y'might wake 'is a** up...where's his wallet at...?

::Deity, still trapped in his controlled devil form, is passed out in an alley street, the reflective black surface of the pavement producing a mirror upside-down image of him sitting against an alloy building wall. He looks like a well-groomed and recently-bathed homeless person, which obviously attracted the attention of a few passing thugs. One of them is very small - he looks like he's a rat-person of some sort - at only four feet tall. His companion is a fleshier, dark-skinned fellow, though for the most part looks human. They're both wearing black headbands and dirty brown trenchcoats with varying worn clothing underneath. The human reaches into Deity's red jacket and slowly pulls out his sketchbook. As he reaches to unstrap and open it, the demon's left hand darts up and tightly grasps his wrist. Both thieves shriek in surprise, though unable to see through the demonic Tonepian's one-way lenses.::

Y-y-yahh, s**t!!

::Without hesitation the rat-faced boy swings his left arm out to punch Deity in the head, hopefully knocking him out again. His knuckles seem to fracture in the process, and he shouts in pain, grabbing his hand and falling over while biting his tongue and kicking his feet. The other thug tugs and tugs at the book to get Deity to release him. Instead, Deity calmly lifts his right hand, slipping the book easily from the man's grasp. The unfortunate human is then sent reeling through the air with a flick of Deity's wrist, his back slamming into and denting the wall of the convenience store behind him. After the impact he falls straight down into a dumpster, unconscious.

Nonchalantly tucking his book back into his jacket, Deity glances casually at the rodent, arching an eyebrow expectantly. The wise kid takes the hint and jumps to his feet, still holding his injured hand as he scurries off down the alley and into a hole in the far wall. Shifting upright before pulling his feet in, Deity slides up against the wall, standing to his feet. His tail curls around his left hip and in front of him, Deity's hands lowering to dust it off. Once he's done, he steps away from the wall, his tail shaking quickly from one side to the other to get off anything he missed.

Sighing softly to himself, Deity pulls his scarf from around his face, letting it stay under his chin. He tilts his head back, staring up at the gradually darkening night sky, kept a purple tint by the illumination of the three red, white, and blue moons. He'll return to the mountains tonight. Though still huge, there is a relatively small area that he hasn't checked in the mountains. By comparison, it's not that great, but it'll take at least a few more days, if not more than a week. All Deity must learn is how to become human once more. A blast powerful enough to kill Deity in this form would be too catastrophic. The last thing he wishes to do in bringing about his end is be the doom of even more innocent people.

In the current case, however, the manager of the store next door is sure to come out soon and see what that ruckus was, and why there's a large dent in his building. Bending his knees for a moment, Deity jumps up, launching himself into a giant backflip that lands him gracefully on the edge of the eighteen-story building behind him. His power remaining low, he begins to go through everything in his head. The Tonepian's memory never was very good, so he should make sure he needs nothing more from the Capital before resuming his search. Perhaps he should confront Jade. Perhaps not. If Deity told her why he wished for her to leave him be, she'd surely keep following him. If he lied, she'd see through him. He's never been a good liar, either.::

((Talk about your vicious nitemares....o o;; ))

Jade, by some amazing stroke of luck (and because I can! XD) happened to be passing by the convienence store Deity had thrown his unfortunate would-be attacker and mugger into it's wall. She had gotten a bit of a late lunch at a street restraunt again (large enough to put a couple of other customers there into shock at the massive amounts of food for her little body and where she was packing it) and was munching on a bit of leftovers she had carried out. She had asked around the restraunt about a boy with red hair, a hat and red headband adn wolfish tail...but no one could point her anywhere....

She paused in her walk just a little bit past the door to the store, but before she reached the alley. Her nose twitched. She knew that scent.

Jade instantly began to look around. Deity's scent was strong, he couldn' be far. She walked down to the alley, and saw the dent int he wall above the dumpster. He had to be around here somewhere...

Damnit...did I just miss him? I'll be so pissed!

....Jade...

::The soft words barely escape the Orinian's mouth, lost instantaneously in the swift breeze blowing by the rooftop. He looks down at the Saiya-jin girl, still trying to decide whether or not he should say something. He hates hurting her like this. She's worried, and he can tell. Everyone has so much to gain from this, though they either cannot understand this, or believe the good in his staying is greater than the grief of his loss. What must be done, must be done. He can't tell her yet.

Turning around, Deity lifts from the rooftop, turning northwest to face the horizon, the view narrow as he looks inbetween the tall, dense buildings. The mountains aren't even in view from this distance, even as huge as they are. It won't take long for them to reveal themselves, however. If Deity is to make it there in time to find a spot to hide, he has to move very quickly. Looking up, Deity sees that he has about two and a half miles up to travel, weaving in and out of the path of the highways, flying craft, and skyways before he breaches the skyline.

Narrowing his scarlet eyes, his power suddenly jumps again to over three hundred million, his aura staying hidden as he blasts upward at high speed, knowing Jade is probably close behind. She'll need to use something stronger than her base Saiya-jin form in order to keep up, he's sure. Just as he reaches the top, Deity turns onto a horizontal path in a tight arch, bolting through the sky again to the northwest. The Eunric mountains are in that direction, as is his destination. His hands remaining in his pockets, his scarf and tail wave casually in the force of the wind as he rockets through the clouds, occasionally glancing at the landscape below..::

Jade's head shut upwards as she had just started to step into the alley, Deity's sudden energy signal appearing directly above her. He was right there, and she hadn't been able to pinpiont it again, like a few nights ago!

She growled low in her throat, her frustration obvious as she leapt into the air after him, her power shooting up like a rocket. She was done screwing around. He wasn't getting away this time.

Jade's hair instantly turned to golden blond as she powered up to SSJ, her still green eyes narrowed behind her glasses as she zoomed up after Deity, her tail wrapped around Seinorei to secure it and her hand on her bag at her side. It held her warmer clothing in it, and even though they were filthy, they were still warmer.

She swerved to the left to avoid a flying craft that came in above her, no doubt shaking up the driver and the vehicle itself.

She would have shouted after him, but knew her voice wouldn't reach him. Besides, no doubt he knew she was right behind him.

::Both Deity and Jade moving at speeds far faster than that of sound, any noise made by Jade has a smaller chance than the Saiya-jin herself has of reaching the speeding Orinian. Deity quickens his pace, picking up speed as he exits the gargantuan city and begins to lower his altitude to one mile above sea level. The blistering winds and low temperature crack like whips against either of them, Deity lifting his left hand to shift his scarf above his nose.

A few minutes pass as the two figures slice through the sky at supersonic speeds, before Deity finally reaches the taller mesas of the Eunric area. He darts straight up now, scaling the monstrous vertical face of a cliff, before curving back forward again to speed across the flat top of the rocky floor. He weaves back and forth in a multi-curving path, avoiding tall rocks and a few small homes built by individuals built to withstand the cold. The temperature is below freezing, only to get a lot colder, with small flakes of snow becoming appaent as they move. The huge rocky plain dips into a wide and incredibly deep canyon, at the bottom of which lies a frigid river. However, the banks on either side - lined with cliffs and ledges - are large enough to walk along. It appears to become more and more narrow as one goes deeper, the bottom only being about five hundred feet across.

The Red-Headed devil dives into this gaping chasm, speeding up his decent as he moves into the force of gravity. He appears to be heading straight for the river, over a mile below. The moment he reaches the churning water, there is a huge splash from what looks like an impact, water globules spreading out in every direction and soaking the banks of the river. The very few brown plants here drip from the cold liquid. Deity is not in sight, however. Should the fair Saiya-jin stay and keep her senses alert, she would pick up Deity's scent nearby. He is frighteningly close, and he's not in the water, but more likely masking his presence and hiding within the large cracks of the walls in this gorge.::

Jade didn't even dare try to pull out anything of her bag as she chased after Deity, for fear that it would slow her down and she'd lose sight of him again. Quickly though, she regretted not having warmer clothing except a tanktop and jeans on, the freezing air making her skin and lungs burn.

She dodged around the same rocks and homes as Deity, trying her best to keep him in sight as he grew further and further away. She had a much better chance here than the city, without distractions or noise or scents to cover his trail. She spun in the air after him into the canyon, her blond hair whipping the air behind her, eyes narrowed, and body have frozen from the rapidly dropping and freezing tempuratures.

She saw the splash below her, and dove down to it, coming to a sudden stop about 15 feet above the water. Her energy creating ripples on the river, she quickly powered down again into her base form, hovering in hte air.

The sudden powerdown made it even colder around her and she instantly began shivering, cursing under her breath as she fumbled to open her bag and pull out her long scarf and at least the coat. She then moved from hovering over the water to a ledge, taking Seinorei off her back for a moment as she put both on, still shivering as she rubbed her arms to warm up.

She stood up and looked around, her eyes narrowed behind her fogged up glasses, which she had to puch up ontop of her head to see better. Her breath was coming out in clouds of steam, the frozen air hurting her lungs as she tried to catch her breath.

But even though her nose was numb, she could still pick it up. Deity's scent. It hadn't been cut off by the water, he was close, very close. Jade stood up straight, still shivering, but determined to find him.

"Come out D-deity, I know you're here, s-stop avoiding me! I wanna talk, t-that's all!"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 12, 2006 5:41 pm

::After Jade's words, there is a sudden silence. No animals, no wind, no water. Nothing stopped, but in the wait for an answer of any kind, all sound ceases to matter. The response soon arrives, breaking through the profound quiet as the Orinian's soft voice finds its way to Jade's ears.::

....Jade.

::Deity steps out of a large crevice in the cliffside wall, his hands stuffed deep in his pockets. His face is hidden from the girl's eyes, but from a side view, she should be able to see his red eyes gazing upon her form. At last, he's decided to show himself willingly...::

Jade spun around suddenly at the sound of Deity's voice. To be brutally honest, she actually hadn't expected him to come out and answer her. For the moment, she stopped shivering, thoguh her hands were still on her arms as she hugged herself for warmth.

This was the whole point of why she had left Earth. Why she had endured over a month in the mountains and strange city life. All to have a chance to talk to Deity. And now...

She couldn't find a single word to say to him as he stood there staring at her.

Jade looked up to where his eyes were, even though they were partially hidden from sight, and smiled slightly at him, even though she was shivering again now.

"D...Deity..."
