Koryn listened to what the headmaster had to say, she let go of the girls cheeks upon realising that what she was doing wasn't right and tilted her head, looking a little confused. "I just thought we did it to cute looking humans, ooops!" she said, a playful, high pitched tone. Koryn saw that the girls cheeks were slightly red and did feel a little bad for it, however she didn't really know what to say. Koryn giggled along with her however, as she joked back at her, "I like you - you're cute!" she said, her wings fluttering in a quite motion to show she was happy.
Koryn turned her head to look back at the man from before, she smiled. "So, how do you tell if someone is under 4?" she asked, real curiosity in her voice. Koryn then could sense another individual making their way over to them, she moved closer to the young girl who's cheeks she had played with and spread her wings out a little more, she would protect the cute girl. Soon it was clear that she didn't need to, as the woman addressed the man as 'Aurtrox' Koryns eyes went a little wide, "Oh, so you are the headmaster man thing? My grandmother told me about you!" she said, looking back at the woman. "You don't look like you are under 4 - so I'm afraid I can't play with your cheeks!" she said, giggling as she looked at Aurtrox and the cute girl, almost a proud look that she was learning about human interaction.
"Bye then! this was fun!" she said, as she now turned to face the cute girl, "What do I call you cute girl?" she asked.

Ella Fletcher "Would you like to go for a swim?"
The gift definitely was for Chloris, it was exactly something she would love and Ella was happy for her. "Great gift Henryk!" she said, smiling at the leader of their team. Ella nodded in agreement, taking Remus by the arm slowly but surely. She was nervous, however smiled and went a little red at his question. "I uh-" she stammered a little, sighing quite heavily. "I'm sorry, I'm working on it" Ella said, looking down at the ground for a brief moment.
"Big events like this, make me a little uncomfortable to say the least.." she said, gripping his arm a little harder as she flashed him a gentle smile. "But I am comfortable here, holding your arm.." she said, as she followed the rest of her team outside.
Charlotte’s eyes flickered over to lunia for a second as she said they were having fun. While part of her didn't want to admit it. They were always happy elsewhere. Everyone was. Least that is what charlotte started to think before lunias eyes seemed to light up. She quickly turned her head towards Jazz and went to lift her hand up to wave to him. Though It was being squeezed and held by Lunia. A Quick glance at the blue haired woman later charlotte just let out a light sight. ”Relax Captain…” Where her simple words.
It wasn't to much longer that jazz arrived with a woman in tow. A woman that looked … Anyway. Charlotte shook her head a little and offered them both a gentle smile. ”Hey this one doesn't look like a waiter trying to serve us. Can we swap them?” Though it was then she let her eyes flicker between the two. She was even trying to seem as friendly as possible. Though then Lena turned up. Her right eyebrow flickered up as she examined the yellow dress. And before charlotte could even process she started to speak. ”Why is the cut so high anyone can see your underwear? When i do that i get told off…” She almost seemed annoyed at that little tidbit Though she was quickly dragged back to normalcy.
A ever so slight bow of her head towards Ora and then Jazz. Then finally Lena she let her words come out a little more. Processed. ” It is nice to meet you…” She may have copied Lunias que on that and just changed the word. It meant the same right? Even if her eyes now flickered to the noise happening near where the rest of her team had been. A slight twinge of worry darting to Chars face as she no longer saw her teammates. Had something happened? Where they being picked off one by one? Should she have brought her weapon? Not this stupid umbrella in her hand. She was told that dancing was light fighting The dancing just looked stupid. Why on earth was she so tense. Why did she want to attack something?!?! And with that she mumbled a apology to no one in particular. ”What do you mean you where away lunia… jazz was the one who left the team… Right after the explosion in the mall hows that your fault?

Richard Vin Malsule The Lancer of DVNTX Currently Wearing: Suit
When Sasselia placed her hand into his, Richard did feel a bit of a flutter within his chest. Like a warm, fuzzy feeling, that complimented the odd buzz that also accompanied him. Being that he had a bit of time to adjust to it, he had almost forgotten. Her hand was actually really soft, which he took will a gentle grip. Still this need fuzzy feeling did make him all giddy. It kept a permanent curl on the edge of his lips. While normally he wouldn't exactly know how to proceed, his body started to move on its own. He started to lead her through the crowds of people in the outside portion of the ball. "You shouldn't worry too much about your comrade. Who ever they are, its a ball. Nothing bad should happen, especially with a bunch of huntsmen in training." He would say when they first began walking. After a bit they managed to get inside the building again. Though there was a lot more people. Things were getting a little more cramped due to all of the other students arriving. There were plenty of people he recognized, but none that he really knew. He just say their faces but never knew their names. Turning back to his lady in hand, he gave a curious look. "So who are we exactly looking for? You met one of them, so what do they look like?' He asked with a general tone. For a brief moment he wondered how the rest of his team were doing. Narx and Danae were probably enjoying their private time. Should he bother them, introduce Sasselia? It was a question that was in the back of his mind.

Azura Knight
Azura smiled, but glanced away, more embarrassed than anything, but thankful Cecil didn't make fun of her. One day she would get a handle on social interaction, but it wouldn't be tonight. She giggled softly, hiding her smile behind one hand at Cecil's antics before following his pointed finger over to Ridley and Adam and a mix of emotions washed over her. She had been hoping to spend most of the night with Cecil alone. It wasn't that she didn't like the other two, but they spent so much time together as a foursome. On the other hand, Cecil had mentioned dancing and Azura wasn't sure how she felt about that with so many people around. Still, she smiled and gave a wave to the pair. Adam with his fading green hair and Ridley in gold. "You don't think Adam is going to pick me up again do you?" She asked seriously as he seemed to have a habit of swinging her around like a doll. With one hand in Cecil's and the other holding her pop she started to head towards the other half of their team.

"Trust me, if he does, he'll be finding his rear end to be blistered in more ways than one." Cecil told Azura to respond to her worries. He laced his fingers with hers as they walked over to the other two, the scarf hiding Cecil's smile before he soon said, "Beat us to the punch, and the food I see..." Cecil openly stated and punned to the duo as he sat down at the table, still holding Azura's hand. "I will say, seems like we're all having a decent time here." He stated next as he looked to Azura and closed his eyes as he tilted his head, a way to tell her he was happy.

Henryk was surprised to hear so much support for the bubble wrap idea, Remus even offering the idea of bubble wrap bow strips. While he liked the idea in concept...some further thought was that it wouldn't be flashy enough. 'Not to mention it may obscure the horns too much then...I need them to stand out, not be buried.' He thought to himself. There may be an alternative for that idea to work though, he just needed to think of something. He could maybe even go for something more combat effective if he wanted to...it'd be fun to do the head butting for once and not always being the victim of it. 'Ram's were supposed to headbutt others right? Maybe I could make it as part of my act...' He silently wondered to himself, off and on thinking about it as things progressed. Well, entirely forgetting it as things progressed, but hoping he would remember it later. Remus also gave him a look and asked if he was planning ball attire or a play. While Henryk could tell that he thought it a bit much...Henryk held his tongue for now as he thought about it. 'Why not both? No one could top an entrance like that!' He was genuinely super excited at the thought, Remus inadvertently wanting him to make it a partial performance as well, even if he intended the opposite.
Before Henryk could plot more on such a thing his attention was glued to Chloris opening her gift. Seeing her close her eyes made Henryk's own internal excitement grow hoping she would like it. There was slight worry she may not but it was easily eclipsed by the excited air Ella was giving off, just feeding Henryk's own. 'It'd probably be dangerous to have both of us excited for others.' He briefly thought to himself with a small smile, temporarily distracted, before hearing Ella's exclamation that it was a great gift and seeing a...strange look he had not seen before from Chloris, but could see a small smile tugging at her lips. He instantly felt a beam of pride and overwhelming happiness as he could tell she liked it. She then spoke very low, almost undetectable, but with Henryk's attention on her for the moment he could hear that she seemed to be surprised he listened and remembered. He was about to respond before she shook her head and smiled sheepishly, something he had been doing a lot lately, before saying she loved it. Henryk couldn't help himself...the excitement of the mood at that point made him beam with happiness and literally bounce in happiness from it. Taking his chance, he spoke in response to her comments with a more excitable energy than usual, but sounding genuinely super happy. "Of course I listened and remembered. I may be a scatterbrain, but you all are my team mates. I could hardly call myself team leader if I didn't listen and try to remember everything you all told me...It also helps when you write it down somewhere." Henryk would finish speaking, for once sounding more like a leader than the excitable child he was. Though he did admit, with a small laugh, that he had written it down to remember. He hoped that didn't make his words any less significant, he had taken the time to write it down after all. And be semi organized...something he almost never did. Disorder was his form of order after all.
However, as Chloris frowned up at him he worried it was because of him mentioning he had written it down to remember. His mood almost dropped before she spoke she mentioned not going into the forest alone ever again. He looked confused for a moment as she said it...before realizing he had done something fairly dumb and if the information hadn't been right he may have been screwed. However, what caught him off guard and prevented him from responding immediately was her adding that she would hate to lose him. His shock grew slightly more, wondering how he had gotten so close to her with one gift that she would say it as such, even if it were stern. Even as she went to fix it he blushed softly himself, though smiled softly of her saying how they all would. Feeling her hug him with her free arm made all those strange emotions quickly disappear as joy returned to him. He would give her a soft full hug in return, careful not to disturb the basket she was holding, as he was not one to do things he wanted to halfway. It was always above and beyond for him. She would then ask if they would like to go out for some fresh air, with Remus agreeing as Henryk chimed in as well. "Of course, fresh air would be nice. Besides, its probably much to calm there. We need to liven things up for everyone!" He would agree, adding a bit of his usual flair and plans to make things go to his style. He was never one to be stuck and dictated by the mood of others; he liked to set his own. As they departed, Henryk would walk beside Chloris with a slight spring in his step.
Seeing Remus and Ella following, albeit in their own conversation, Henryk would take the chance to speak with Chloris. "I promise I won't go alone again. Had to this time though, it could hardly have been a surprise if any of you suspected anything." He would say with a smile, as to him the risk was worth it for the reaction he got from her. Still smiling happily as his gaze wandered about, looking for the nearest stimuli as he was briefly lost in thought, he would look back to her as they were nearing the outside area. "Sorry its nothing new though. Didn't want to risk bringing anything poisonous after all." He would say with a short laugh as he remembered her own prank against him in the forest. He tried not taking things badly, sure he planned to counter prank her at some point, but that didn't mean he couldn't have a laugh at himself every now and again. Reaching the outside, Henryk would look around and find a spot, choosing one that strangely was not in the center of everything for once. "I think I found the perfect spot, this way." Henryk would say, for once not sounding like he was bursting with excitement this evening. And, on compulsion more than anything, he would grab her hand and begin to move before freezing...Pausing and looking back to Chloris to see if it was ok. If she said or nodded yes, he would guide her by the hand. If not, he would let go and lead the way. Regardless, he would wave the other two over as he lead them to a table at the edge of the area with only a few of the bright lights nearby. What was special about it is that it had the most trees beside, something he hoped Chloris would like. Turning back to them once he was next to it, he would smile and give them a slight bow before speaking. "I figured we could all use a bit of time alone for a bit. We do have a dance competition to win later, and its always good to relax before a show. Plus its hard to learn all your deepest and darkest secrets when we are surrounded by everyone else." He would say jokingly to them all, knowing that at least Chloris and Ella preferred calmer things. He still thought he could sway Remus, as serious as he was, to his more elaborate and excitable ways. 'Or at least drag him into them.' He thought to himself. He would await whatever decision they made, if they even wanted to sit, and he would wait for everyone to sit before he would sit besides Chloris.

§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ SasseliaArgenia TEAM: ACER SEMBLANCE:not activated ------------ Upon returning from the outdoors of the garden, to the indoors of the ball, Sasselia was hit with a wave of surprise. Having been outside for quite a bit to talk the memories of the flooded ball of people had been tucked aside. To return to it again, this time around it was not towards negative feelings of solitude. Perhaps she should have stayed in the garden for the air before even trying to be around this scenery? Or in fact, it was the company she had helping a lot. Whatever the case was she managed to keep a good composure. It helped even with Richard reassuring about this whole place being a safe spot, and how worrying about the safety was unnecessary due to the fact everyone in the room was combat experienced. "Yes... You are right." His gentle words brought butterflies to her stomach and chest for reasons she could not understand. She had gently squeezed his hand in thanks, as she allowed him to take her along with him through the outer portion, while keeping an eye out for Eira and one who was possibly Koryn. It was a bit hard not to stare at the back of Richards head though from time to time. His hair had a lovely hue to it, that matched the kind face to who it was upon.
The more people that came to view, the less she absolutely knew. Just about every face was foreign to her knowledge. One group she had seen one day in the library when she first arrived were present, but she knew none of the names or had actually spoken to them. Her attention shifted back to Richard once his question was asked, her free hand going to her lips a moment to contemplate. "Eira Winters. Light blue eyes like a cloudless afternoon sky, and white hair with a white dress. I had her going to another woman whose attire had an ethereal approach to it. I remember there being a bufferfly wing design upon it. When I had seen it I had pegged her as a faunus... But with so many people I may have made a booboo." "A slight miscalculation" was the what she had been aiming for! Why did she say booboo!? How juvenile of a word to use. "Uhm... i-I mean accidently messed up."
His couldn't help but to grin at the golden huntress. Their friendship was something that Adam cherished; like all of his relationships. Though, Ridley and his were something...special. It seems everyone around the two knew it, but it was something that went undetected by Adam, and possibly Ridley, until recently. Still confusing, but it was there. He looked at her through slitted eyes and a small smirk. "I've embraced my monkey-flexes long ago, my friend." he said. "Oh. Oh! We'll see about that. huh? Be that a challenge, Ms. Thing?" he asked cocking his head to the side. "I've said it once and I'll say it again, 'I'm too good!'" he repeated irking the challenge faster. Nose to nose they stared each other down with as much severity as they could muster, but it started to become too much. "It's already been brought, son!" Adam's lips began very small twists and twitches. Trying his best to fight his bubbling laughter he was relieved when she laughed first allowing him to release the tension building within him. He leaned back in his chair as he took a breath from laughing.
"Really? Above my paygrade. Don't get it bent, twisted or broken. Nothing is above Chief Petty Officer Master Chief Adam Argent!" he said standing proudly. Adam watched her as she seemed to think about something fairly hard. He was about to speak until she beat him to the punch. He ended up choking on his own words. "*cough cough* uh, thanks! *cough*" he said as he turned his head to the side hiding his face heating up. "But ain't a point in impressin' me. I'm no one special." he explained with a smile. He smiled at the thought of her uncle. "Betray you and team up wit me, huh? AND try to embarrass you? Well, I say I would like this guy, too." he chuckled. Adam watched her facial expression. Seeming to be a bit conflicted within itself he wanted ask, but decided to leave it be. There has to be things that weren't pushed and just told and Adam wasn't on to pry into anyone unless necessary. And right now it wasn't necessary. He hummed contently when she said she got lucky just as he did. His eyes widened once he heard the word 'mom' and he sat up immediately. This is the first time he's even heard her say the word and knew if she were to say something he needed to be all ears. Out of respect. She said that topic will be for another day and he nodded, but not without saying, "I'm sure I would have loved her." He shrugged as she appreciated his view on a proper lady.
"What can I say? I can be darn smart when's I's wants to be." he smiled. He watched as she played with the pineapple treat. "I will figure it out and you. Will. Suffer the same as I have." he vowed. As the vow ended the absent two made it to the table. He stood as the two made their way to the table. "Wow! You two look great! Such a beautiful couple!" he said complimenting them both. Adam felt a chill up his spine. One that spoke of a certain doom in specificity. Like if he were to spin someone he would regret it. "Hmmm." he said aloud. "I think I'm gonna keep my hands to myself." he said as he looked at Cecil and Azura deductively. A smile spread across his face as a pun was fired. Time to clap back. "Yeah! I didn't think you would Fall short when it came to getting the food." he snickered. "And a decent time? Naw, we're gonna have a Ball tonight as long as no one leaves early it'll be great." Adam responded trying his best to hold back his laughter. It failed. Adaam's eyes trailed downt to see that they were holding hands. He simply looked and didn't say a word. "So, y'all want to get something to eat and join us?" he asked.

This girl seemed to be genuinely confused that what she had been doing to Eira's face wasn't generally viewed as acceptable. What was even more odd was when she responded to the headmaster's correction of her behavior she seemed to not be able to envision what a four year old is like. Having had her cheeks released Eira tilted her head, puzzled by this woman's naivete. 'How could she have never seen a child before? She wondered. Surely everyone knew what a child was and could recognize one. Eira examined Koryn's wings once more and pondered what would normally be outlandish thoughts on if this faunus matured in odd ways. Did her kind not have an immature state?
Koryn responded to Eira's joking threat to get even for the cheek pinching by subjugating Koryn to it as well with a giggle. Followed by a proclamation of liking this cute girl before her. Koryn's emotions seemed to be easily read in how they are expressed in her wings. It was similar to telling a dog is happy to see you by how its tail wags when you come in the door. Eira wasn't hard to read either really. At being called cute once more she puffed up with a bit of pride. In doing so she stuck out her chest, though not as much as a boy would, which emphasized her chest. "Of course I am." She chimed proudly while smoothing the skirt of her dress. "And you're no ugly duckling yourself, Koryn. Your wings are especially beautiful. They even have mine beat I think." She said, clearly admiring the dance of colors across Koryn's wings as the light caught their every movement.
Since the headmaster seemed to be busy and was getting busier by the moment as another girl wearing a bold dress joined the group talking with him Eira decided to answer Koryn's question. "You can tell if they are a four year old just by looking at them usually. Most are small and cute like puppies. There are some students that are really short but none of the students are that young, so you can ignore them as possible kids. But in general if they are about this tall.. They are a probably around four." Eira held her hand out parallel to the floor and at a height that was right around the height of her their waists. "As for me, you can call me Eira. My full name is Eira Winters. And if you are indeed Koryn I am your teammate from now on. Well one of them."

Feralis' mind was both racing and at a standstill at the same time but for different things. At once, his mind was frozen to any thoughts not about his old team. Almost all other sound was muted to him, all other movement lost, as if it were only he and Kendall in that room currently. His mind was racing in the memories he shared with her. Of the first day where they were forced to work with one another, where within five minutes of meeting one another they were wrestling, biting, and clawing each other on the ground. Of their time in the infirmary after, their begrudging apologies to one another before falling readily back into blows with one another until their leader had to personally stay to keep them apart. Of their missions together with one another, their constant arguing on the way...their eagerness to one up one another on the field of battle, their kill stealing between each other...and how they still protected one another when needed. How despite the competition, they would always interject and save the others life...if only to gloat over the other one afterwards. Of the few days they had a tenuous peace with one another...if only to get back at their leader. Of their violent attacks against anyone who tried to separate them when fighting, or hurt either of them...
Of the last time they met...how he had stormed off after their argument, made the worst mistake of his life...and never saw any of this team again after. And now she was here...somehow, some way they were both at beacon again... 'Had she been here all along? Did I get the wrong information...did she just come back...Do I apologize now...' He thought to himself, not having the energy to form the words. The sight of her both boiled his blood yet made him want to apologize for being gone so long. Made him want to attack her for all that had happened, and at least say he was sorry to her eye to eye. But...no words could form as he could only stare at her blankly, his mind not settling on anything to say...He didn't even notice the large robot's voice or the feel of its footsteps approaching. He didn't really notice anything else around him. However...her first words made him react without thinking. Her very first words after seeing him again, after five years, was dog breath. He instinctively let out a growl, all his desire for an apology evaporating in part because of Ren. His fangs bared as he glared at her, his memories of them butting heads overflowing his mind as he felt a familiar anger course through him. "Mittens..." He would say the name with venom. He may have even be tempted to go to blows at that point...save for one thing that pierced the narrow focus of his mind.
One voice though pierced through his mental fog and killed his aggression as soon as it began. One voice that made him simultaneously want to turn as fast as he could...or stay in blissful ignorance by staying frozen in place. The voice, though slightly different...knew his name...and his mind, despite how long it had been...instantly recognized it. A voice he could never forget, no matter how much it varied. Slowly, painfully slow as his eyes would've widened in shock to Kendall, he would turn to face the source of the voice but...His surprised expression only grew as he did. He expected to see her, the fearless leader that had led them on so many successful hunts. The only one who could pry Feralis and Mittens apart from one another. The one who would be there beside each of them and cared for them when they were wounded. The one who always pushed them to their limits, never being satisfied with just being good, always wanting them to improve. The one who he mimicked his fighting style so close to, the whole purpose of his special boots and vambraces. The one who always bested him in combat, who was always one step ahead...The one who got sick and declined, who stepped down from the leader position...The one he lost when he stormed away that night. 'Why...they're both...here...now...' His mind was in shambles at this point. He hadn't expected to see one of them, let alone both. He had never truly expected to see any of them ever again after his return a year later. And now he found both here, at once. His mind couldn't even question why they were both suddenly here...Couldn't even begin to think that far. It was stuck focused entirely on the present now. Because before he had left, she was sick...but could still walk, could still move...But before him was a shell of that person. His leader, Maria...was in a wheelchair...The person he always believed would persevere and beat her sickness. The person who could never see being beaten. The person he respected more than any, and his only real tie to the civilized world...Couldn't even walk. He had gone...and apparently, she had gotten worse in his absence. To need a wheelchair now and seeing the tears in his eyes...he didn't even notice the robot as tears filled his eyes. In an uncharacteristically meek voice, so low and soft but enough that those around him could hear, he could only say one word. "Ma...Mari...Maria...." He almost choked on saying the words, torn between going towards her or collapsing to the ground on his knees from the sudden spiking pain in his chest.
The echoes of what people had been drilling in her mind for years surrounded the small crusader ever since she had walked in here. There was no dress, no fancy attire, just her plain clothing armor. By special request of the school itself. She sat alone at a table outside, unable to face the people inside for fear of hearing those words again. Her eyes would be staring down at the table, towards her plate of food and drink.
"Shouldn't you be in day care?" "How's the weather down there?"
Her expression tightened. B-Big crusaders don't cry. Big crusaders don't cry. Yennefer repeated to herself as her grip on the glass tightened. She looked up to watch the other girls pass by with dates in hand while her eyes would leak some tears down her cheek. Why couldn't she have their bodies? Why couldn't she have been tall and not a freak like this? Why couldn't she be anybody but herself? Yenna sniffled and wiped her eyes of tears with the sleeve of her dress.
"I figured Oxhearts were...taller."
The plat became airborne, thrown away by Yenna in fit of rage. The contents splattered across the floor elsewhere. Yenna got up and stormed inside, hoping that some of her team was around. Maybe if she could find somebody to talk to, the voices would go away. Her search took her towards Nox, almost bumping into her as she could feel her doubts beginning to lesson. "Nox!" Her voice was british, cockney specifically. It was almost from somebody different. Noticing her difference, she cleared her throat a couple of times and tried again. "Ah, there you are, Nox! How fare you at this function?"
Oswald couldn't help but chuckle a tad bit from listening to her. Even had a hidden smile. "I saw Ren but Yui, I am completely unsure where she is. Last time I saw her was the courtyard incident. And ren he has that effect. I know first hand." After talking with her. he noticed that she is talking a bit too much on this conversation. Way too much and even though he isn't very close with his team. He knows that she might have drunk a bit too much. "I think it's time for you to take a seat and stop drinking." he walked to her and grabbed her hand to guide her to an empty table for him and her to be alone. The last thing he wants is to draw attention.

Sakura slowly nodded. Okay, then, Yui was MIA. Totally nothing to worry about or anything...that's what she was going to tell herself, anyways. Maybe she just decided not to come. Maybe she was just tired? That made sense. Sakura took a deep breath. Yeah, okay. She really needed to quit mom-ing over her teammates and let them make their own decisions and do their own thing. Yeah, okay. She blinked in surprised when Oswald took her hand and implied she was...drinking? "What are you talking about? This is just fruit punch. Or, at least I'm pretty sure it's fruit punch..." Well, it tasted like it. Nothing seemed a bit off about it. "Wait, you don't think it was spiked, do you? We should tell Ms. Kali or get rid of the punch or...something." She protested. If anyone else drunk it, it could lead to total chaos or like...maybe slightly controlled chaos? Depends on what kind of drunk everyone may be, really.

XXXThough retreating was an instinctual action, it had been interrupted. Sandy hues would widen in surprise as she felt a tight and firm grip around her wrist. Such a turn of events caused a stir of panic and confusion within the poor girl's mind as a bewildered gaze shot up towards their leader. Her breath became strained as her heart began beating so rapidly against her rips, panic already nearing the bursting point. That was, until she heard the words that lingered from Nox's lips, words of encouragement and acceptance ... Words that for so long, she had only heard from Eli's own deep tone. It came as both a shock and was an oddity all on its own. A bewildered gaze began to calm, blinking into a state of confusion as her brown orbs locked with her own crimson. ... Her pupils were slit, much like the snake she represented. How had she failed to notice, all this time? Perhaps it was because she always kept her head down, hiding from the world around within the safe vicinity of Eli. To think she had missed such a little detail, albeit obvious, and all she had to do was raise her head a little. "I.. Um.. I'm.. not sure.. if he's willing to share.." As panicked as she was, she tried to make the best of it by poking a teasing stab towards her precious spider. There was hesitance in her retreat, but it only lasted for the moment that Nox kept her grip on her wrist. For but a moment, Cali felt like someone aside from Eli was open to accepting her, but... Even if that was the case, it was so much harder for her to accept others.
Her statement held more meaning than she led onto. Perhaps Eli hadn't wanted to share her, but it was more her own wariness to open up to others and to share the one she held closest. For so long, it had just been the two of them against all else. Once when they were seven years old, the mother of a spider boy told him to go make some friends, or he'd be lonely. A boy who could've easily impressed the boys by spraying a mess of webs in her hair and sticking her to a wall. He could've easily been the most popular little scamp, but instead, a silkened web of fate was weaved between the two. A single deciding factor, that would forever ensnare the two within the sweetest of stories and darkest of tragedies. A tale of two souls lost in a world that didn't want them. That's how it was for so long, anyway. In time, people had grown to accept him, as one who lived in the limelight with natural abilities that proved to be loved by everyone. A semblance that sparked in an array of beautiful colors, and a most magnificent display of silky weapons that let him snatch the world between his very fingertips. Whenever he hit the spotlight, he thrived and fed off of the attention while she continued to fall into the shadows, away from all the others. As the years have come to pass, it seemed more and more that reality itself was trying to test their metal. Exposing them to new odds, dangers, and obstacles to get over. Whether it was enduring the cruelty of kids and adults alike within the kingdom of Atlas, or enduring the unspoken tortures for one another. None of this could compare to the stories of their past, to live almost normal lives, to both be accepted by those around them and grow. It was all so new, and even then, the two were so intricately intertwined with one another that it was hard to let anyone else in.
Her frail frame would begin to sink into that of Eli's, feeling the fingers of his hand managing to wriggle free of her tight grasp only to have his own firm and ever embracing arm hook around her waist and pull her closer. In his embrace was always so comforting, so soothing... With only a moment to sink in, she already felt the anxiety that plagued her existence begin to diminish ever so slowly. Such a task never came so easily as she felt a foreign breath beat against the side of her face, a familiar tone that had never been so close whispering in her ear. Softened orbs would meet crimson slits once again, baring a more curious expression. ".. Modeling.. just us..?"'That... might be kind of fun.. But what about Eli..? Why couldn't he come? .. Does that mean Yenna will, as well?' Soft words would shift to silent thoughts as the tiniest of smiles formed, showing that she may just be up for something like that. Until then, she would retreat into her shell and bury her face against Eli's frame, the one safe place.
The anxiety had always been something so overwhelming, her barely being able to keep her head afloat from drowning in a sea that was her uneasy, beaten, and most anxious soul. Almost always, that is. This night, under the leaves of orange and gold, embraced by the arms of her wonderful spider and in the company of their fair leader, it seemed to be only a fragment of what it usually was. Yes, she had cheeks of a rosy hue that was buried against Eli's chest to smother it, but here she was. Talking, breathing, and somewhat socializing. Her skin was shown to the world, and when she wasn't confronted directly, anyone could see her sandy hues ignite with passion taking it all in. Despite being in such a public situation, she had never felt freer than tonight. It was... Liberating. A flustered gaze would peak up at Eli as his slew of jokes and teases came out so mercilessly, yet seamlessly. His humor always caused a stupid smile to curl at the edge of her lips, a muffled giggle sounded from the girl nestled against him. "The one and only... So amazing, with quips to match... A minx can barely keep up." She couldn't contain her smile as her sandy hues continued to gaze up at him. A gaze of adoration for this wonderful spider that blessed her life, even if it involved teasing her at every turn. Though, it seemed that his joke was taken a bit too seriously when Nox began to asking about a sister. The girl had retreated into her shell, but she would shake her head in disagreement. Perhaps if she did have a sister, life would've been a tad easier, but, life would not be so kind. Only another thing to feel guilty about, causing her mother so much pain with her premature birth by decaying her womb. The chance of Cali ever having a sibling became an impossibility.
Cheeks still dull with a rosy hue, the highlight of her flustered expression had come to pass as she pulled her face from Eli once again, though kept herself securely tucked against his side. She was moderately intrigued by the thought of someone else knowing how to dance, wondering how she faired? What kind of dance style did she choose to follow? Perhaps a more formal style, to led or be led in a waltz? Or was it more free-form, surely a snake could have a natural flexibility, perhaps to the point that breakdancing was an option ... That didn't seem to quite suit their captain, but, it was still a thought that came to mind. ".. All of those sound delightful.. I.. don't think we've ever been to a hot spring.. Have we, Eli..?" The soft-toned girl would tilt her head up in curiosity towards the boy. The idea had never crossed her mind, though... A place to show skin had always been avoided in her book. Then, a vivid image had crossed her mind as she listened to the two converse, the sight of her spider boy slinging a web across the ball, snatching a most ideal partner that Nox could enjoy the company of. However, Cali was surprised that Nox returned her focus onto herself so soon. Soft hues widened at the propisition of dancing, something she had only done with Eli up to this point, though at times he was less than grateful. "I.. Are you sure? I could slip up.. and I don't want you to get hurt in the process, or.. ruin your pretty dress." Her tone was clearly concerned by all the possibilities that could happen, always being the first to mull over a series of negative thoughts before anything positive could result. At the mention of her dresses, a small smile would blossom against her cheeks. "They're really pretty... This one was my favorite, but.. I really want to wear the others.." As much as the idea of this dress crumbling, which it was already starting to, she wanted to wear the variety of a wardrobe Eli had picked out for her. In their years together, the boy adapted so nicely to her taste. He was the perfect person to take shopping, someone that ever girl needed in her life!
Unfortunately, despite their efforts to fine their little bunny comrade, nothing turned up. It was another dead end, and that was truly unfortunate... Though, Cali wasn't even sure if she could handle Yenna's energy quite yet, even being as far out of her shell as she already was tonight. As Eli began to serve drinks up for the team, Cali was quick to take her cup in hand so that Eli wouldn't have to juggle for too long. ".. Do you want help..?" The girl would ask softly, always finding herself impressed at Eli's skill in multitasking, even when herself ensnared in one of his arms. Still, if she could help, she would always offer. With a glass in hand, she took a small sip. As always, the fluid would feel so odd against her lips, but managed to swallow without damaging the glass quite yet. That's when an idea stirred, and she began to watch Eli's chewing until he stopped. With a gentle smile, she'd wiggle her other arm free from around him and pick up another snack roll and reach up to his mouth. "Eli, say "ah"." This was helping, right? Treating him to a snack for serving up her punch. Certainly, it was a far trade, was it not? Holding onto that smile, she reached for a second one and popped the snack into her mouth and began chewing, feeling it crumble in her mouth from both her semblance and being meshed against her teeth. A curious gaze would begin to scour the plates hearing Nox's question, before pointing out a tray of small wraps that looked to be stuffed with chicken. ".. What about those? They.. look good.." In all honesty, Cali found herself quite surprised by the quality of the food that was being served at these tables. Sure, the food at Beacon itself wasn't terrible to begin with, but it truly looked like fine dining.
That's when a familiar voice would chime in, though a bit off in verticular. Rather than the harshly old-timey voice she had gotten so used to, it sounded more similar to a simple old English, a British nature, perhaps? A voice that called for their captain, before correcting itself to the harsh tone of the tiny crusader they have all grown to known. It was a bit startling, but Cali did everything she could to fight against melting into Eli's side once more. Instead, she would rest against it, sipping on her punch as she raised three fingers from her glass to wave towards her teammate. Cali couldn't find it in her nature to speak, but she still tried to offer a gesture of welcome to the rambunctious bunny rabbit. ... But why was she dressed in her normal clothing? It wasn't quite out of place, looking elegant in its own fashion, but wasn't part of the fun being able to dress up? Before she could get too into thought, her sandy hues would dart towards a horned faunus that seemed to be staring at them longingly... A boy that looked so familiar, when she stomped her heel against him. However, as uneasy as it made her, his gaze seemed far from malicious. Rather, it seemed to have a somber vibe to it, why was that? Why was he watching them? ".. Eli.. Its him... From Team JOLD.." Her tone had a confusing concern, but as she tried to proclaim his onlooking gaze, her eyes would widen as he took a tumble from another girl running into him. Though surprising, a high pitched scream would erupt from a few tables down.. A rabbit that was in the arms of a taller woman, before all went silent and such a sound went unnoticed. ... Were people just so use to the crazy incidents here, that no one would bat an eye? ... Beacon certainly had an interesting culture, and Cali found herself getting more and more confused with each passing day.
