xxx Ila is a shy little Dryad who tries her best to please the ones she loves. She loves gardening and easily remembers what plants are useful and when they grow. Ila is very sweet once you get to know her, but she's definitely on the quiet side, so sometimes it's hard to hold a conversation with her.

xxx Ila has been an orphan for as long as she could remember. She has no idea what happened to her parent/s or why they weren't with her anymore. She also doesn't know why she ended up in an orphanage in Below as apparently she's a Day Dream. Happily, though, Ila was adopted by someone who knew a thing or two about Dryads, and quickly went from no family to a big family.

xxx Jaxon is a friendly, thrill loving gal who loves nothing more than to go on rollercoasters or go through haunted houses with her friends. She finds that hanging out is always a little better when she's out doing fun stuff, rather than just sitting around in the dorms. Jaxon is also a perfectionist, though she levels that more towards herself, forcing herself to act and seem more mature. She does have a goofy side, but only when she lets her guard down.

xxx Emrys tries very hard not to let his mutations keep him from life. The FOMO is strong with this one; too many people try to baby him and tell him it isn't safe to do things. Still, he can be very persuasive or totally willing to protest what he views as unfair treatment. Due to not using his eyes, Emrys is also very, very good at discerning emotions, through the timbre of voices. Emrys also has an odd propensity to stare at whoever he's conversing with which can be very off-putting to those who don't know him.

xxx Emrys' lack of irises gives him immense sensitivity towards light, causing migraines, nausea, and other super fun side effects that will keep him stuck in a dark room for days. Sunglasses help most days, but sometimes his sensitivity gets so bad, he finds it easier to simply keep his eyes shut and tell people that he's blind just so he can go out and have social interaction. Being 'blind', though, brings its own set of problems, so Emrys is no stranger to running into things...or being run into. The small boy uses a cane to help him navigate around the school grounds, but canes can't sense low hanging tree branches or the movements of other students. And so Emrys finds himself in a bit of a quandary: to suffer migraines so bad he was taken out of commission, or brave the teeming masses and the possibility of getting tripped over.

It was on a day that he'd been virtually run over by another student (not their fault, they were carrying a large box and hadn't seen Emrys on the other side) that he felt a strange tug on his...magic? Not quite that, but he was unsure exactly what he was feeling. Did he dare chance a quick peek to see what it was? Emrys put a hand up in a vain hope of blocking out some light as he opened his eyes to see what was pulling at him. The light seared his eyes and sent sharp daggers digging into his temples before he snapped his eyes shut again. It was a wisp. Odd, Emrys had never felt such a thing around other wisps, and the critters weren't exactly what one would call intelligent...but this one seemed to have found a way to tug at him, at his life force most likely. It almost felt like there was a leash holding the two of them together.

It was more of an off-handed thought that Emrys adopted the wisp, mostly out of curiosity rather than a need for companionship. But soon he noticed that even more curious things happened when the wisp was with him. On more than one occasion the tug would turn into more of a yanking feeling and if Emrys didn't heed the insistent tugging...tree branch to the head. Or a student will just miss stampeding him. Listening to the tug always yielded a pain free walk though the campus. Soon, Emrys was focusing tightly on the feel of the wisp and found he was making it to class faster, using his cane less, and getting bumped into not at all. He didn't know how the wisp knew, but it had quickly learned his class schedule and what other freshlings he hung out with. The wisp could find any class and any friend on demand. The wisp had become his guide and constant companion and every day Emrys was more grateful to his friend for keeping him safe. He also learned that the wisp's glow was gentle on his eyesight, but bright enough to be used to finish up schoolwork.

Emrys couldn't keep calling the wisp 'the wisp' or 'my guide'; the wisp was more than those things and needed a proper name. Emrys named the wisp 'Orion' and the two have been inseparable. Every day Emrys looks forward to the evening when he can go into his darkened room and finally open his eyes. It was then that he could finally see his friend, the tug receded and the two would enjoy each other's company. Even if Emrys magically gained the ability to see on his own during the day, nothing would make him give up his best friend.
