Username: Hobo Pixi Student Name: Jazzilyn Original Story: Rumpelstiltskin
Story:
Jazzilyn stared at her paper for a moment as she thought of which story to pick. With a smile on her face she picked Rumpel's story because she could think of a good twist on the story. She quickly began writing, 'The life of a magic user was one that was filled with people that use you. Where you never know if the people around you are there because you have magic or because they like you. This was the life of Rumpelstiltskin. His mother thought he was a monster for his power and gave him an awful name then gave him away. Rumpel was teased and used for his magic and one day, vanished. Living on your own was way better than being around others. One day, he had heard rumor of a woman that said she could turn straw into gold while he was out and about. Intrigued that someone would have magic like him, Rumpel visited this woman in the room she was locked in. She was crying so he went to her to offer his help. "What ever is the matter?" He asked and the young woman looked to him and explained that she had lied and now the king was going to have her head. Rumpel was disappointed that she wasn't magical like him but he decided to help. "I can help you turn the straw to gold.... but I will need something in return." He told her, not wanting to be used anymore. She gave him a gold necklace and he did as promised before vanishing again. He came back the next night to see here in a larger room, crying again. "I did as you wanted, why are you crying?" He asked. The woman explained that the king said he wanted her to do it again with the straw in this room and if she did then she could marry the prince. She then begged Rumpel to turn the straw to gold again. Rumpel felt used still. He had always been alone but maybe now, he didn't have to be. "I will help... for something in return." He told her. She promised to pay any price, so Rumpel did as she wished and vanished. He went back to his house and lived quietly for months until he had heard that the new queen was going to have her baby. He appeared to her with a mischievous smile, "As promised, I am here to collect." He told the woman and she replied with confusion, not knowing what she had promised him. "You said you'd pay anything." He told her, "I am here for your child." He added. The woman looked terrified and begged him not to take her. "A deal is a deal." He told her, walking towards the child and taking it. He then went back home and raised the kid. The end.' Jazzilyn set her pencil down, proofreading over her work. Once she thought it was good, she got up to turn it in.

Username: Hobo Pixi Student Name: Sanyin Original Story: Jack in the Beanstalk
Story: Sanyin rubbed his neck as he tried to pick out a story to write about. After selecting one, he started to write whatever came to his mind. 'At the top of a cloud far far away, there was the land of the Giants. The Giants were a peaceful race that is ruled by King Delightful. The King had three sons, Prosper, Luck and Dawn, that were brave and strong just like he was. As part of Giant nature and law, there were a few no-nos that you didn't do; Stealing, lying and intruding. One day, while King Delight was having a meeting... Prince Prosper went out to check the boarders of their cloud land. He was alarmed when he noticed that there was a beanstalk against their land. He moved to inspect it but saw nothing else out of the ordinary. As he went to tell his father, he noticed some things were missing. After reporting them to his father and mentioning the beanstalk, he went to bed. The next morning, he woke up to a tiny human running off with his gold! He shouted to wake up his brother as he ran after him. "THIEF!" He shouted through the city. As the human moved to slide down the beanstalk, Prince Prosper took chase down the stalk after him. Half way down, there was a large craaaaaaack and the beanstalk fell over and ended the life of the thief and the Giant.' Sanyin sighed at his ending, too tired to change it.

1. Student describes in as much detail as possible what kind of room could be in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. 2. Must be at least 250 words total 3. ??? Profit!
Username: Hobo Pixi Student Name: Khiran
Response:
Khiran actually looked a bit intrigued by a more creative assignment in class. A candy room, huh? He had no idea what candy he'd have in a room. Maybe a room that has paneling like a real house but the panels are made out of the inner part of a butterfinger. Maybe have the floor be chocolate and the light fixture be made of gummies. Suddenly, the Baphomet was craving candy. There could be a living room, dining room and kitchen combo where the table and cabinets are made of chocolate. The couch would be made out of cotton candy, so dont spill on it! There could be a rug of red vines and the counters and appliances could be made of jaw breakers! He smiled at the idea, starting to write it all down and even sketching it. He added chocolate made chairs that had cotton candy seat covers to keep your tushy comfortable. The plants and flowers could be made of gummies and the dirt could be crushed oreos. Ideas started to spill through his mind as he wrote them down quickly. He really hoped that his teacher liked his ideas. He was rather creative most the time but sometimes he just wasn't inspired enough to write out long paragraphs of his ideas. However, he was having no problem writing out these ideas. He tapped his pencil on his desk for a moment as he tried to think up more ideas, like having the Door be made of either jaw breaker or maybe hard candies for design.

Username: Hobo Pixi Student Name: Jacie
Response:
Jacie quickly moved to sit in his seat, barely making it before the late bell. Why was he almost always late now! He blamed the little freshlings that followed him around and bothered him. He never had a brother or sister so he did not know what it was like to be constantly harassed by someone younger. Looking up at the bored, he pulled out his notebook and listened to the teacher explain that today they had to write about a candy room that would be in the factory. Sighing, the grimm tapped his pencil on his desk. He honestly didn't even read the room or watch the movie but he assumed it was about candy. Looking to his paper, he started to write about his candy room. Perhaps they would have a cotton candy room, where everyone spins round and around until fluffy. He tapped his pencil more, trying to think of how they flavored the cotton candy. Maybe the flavoring is added depending on your mood. So if you are angry and are in the room while it spins, maybe you will make it taste spicy or something. The grimm rubbed his neck, not particularly enjoying this assignment. Perhaps he should have read the book or at least have seen the movie, maybe then he would have been able to come up with a better candy theme for a room. What else could he even do? Was there such thing as chocolate flavored cotton candy? It sure sounded gross but anything was possible in a book, he supposed... so he wrote it down.

Username: leon_a_darkangel Student Name: Harley Original Story: The Tale of Peter Rabbit
Story: Harley rubbed at one of his ears, they were bothering the young bakeneko. They had been given a magic-based item to insert in them so he could make out verbal conversation. It would have been better to take them out..but he had promised his Momma he would try. Sighing he fidgetted as he sat in class, trying to figure out what to write about. Pouting slightly, he tried to think about a story he liked. There was too many! His ears perked up abruptly struck by a moment of brilliance. The Tale of Peter Rabbit! Yeah! Hurriedly scratching his pencil against paper he began to write.
'Peter Rabbit dreamed of the garden which his mother spoke of. The vegetables were so perfect who wouldn't! While his siblings Mopsy, Flopsy, and Cottontail minded there Mama, Peter decided one day to go for a snack. Only he ate far too much, and made himself sick like a naughty rabbit! Going looking for parsley to cure his aching belly, he was spotted by none other than Mr. McGregor, who was not pleased to find Peter in his garden. Poor Peter was chased by the farmer, having to flee for his life. Peter quickly hid inside a watering can. Once the cost was clear, he had to carefully avoid a cat all without his favorite Jacket and shoes. Only Mr. Mcgregor soon found him again while he wandered lost! Peter Rabbit had to run, run as fast as he could to escape! Too bad he ate too much food and didn't listen to his Mama like a good boy...he made a fine stew for the farmer. It was Truly tragic, for Mrs. Rabbit saw her Peter's clothes on Mr. Mcgregors scarecrow that next morning.'
Harley giggled despite the grim twist on the usually happy children's story. Little boys and girls should listen to their parents! They looked proud of themselves as they smiled, signing the paper with their name carefully and dating it.

Username: leon_a_darkangel Student Name: Milo Original Story: Hansel & Gretel
Story: Milo sighed, rubbing his neck as he glanced away from his assignment. He wasn't really in the mood to write...he didn't know what to write about. The Grimm missed their stone twin...the other had passed away, but it still seemed so fresh. Closing his eyes he rests his chin in his palm. Maybe..if he just did the assignment he could go read a book or something. A dark cloud was still over the young child, but it was getting better...slowly with each day. They had a big loving family..but it still hurt, and felt like he was MISSING something.
Hansel and Gretel took a trip deep into the woods one day, without a care in the world. The two twins were inseparable, they looked so similar, but were different in the way they acted. Hand in hand, they could take on the world...together. Skipping happily, the pair went on their journey without a care in the world. As they explored, they came upon a curious looking building deep in the woods. The scent of sweet sugar and yummy treats had led the hungry children to the Candy House. Excited shining eyes gazed with wonder as they approached the beautifully crafted house. Boldly, Hansel stepped forward first. "Do you think there is more inside? What if they have all kinds of candy inside!" The other asked excited of their twin, not fearing a thing with them so close. Gretel looked at the other with uncertainty, shaking her head. "No brother, we shouldn't...let's go back." She pleaded nervously. Despite her protests, Hansel knocked on the old cottage made of sugary confection. There was silence...until somewhere deep within the dwellings..a being stirred.
Just as the children were about to leave, thinking no one home (Hansel regretfully so) an old woman suddenly pulled open the door. Smiling, her eyes shone with delight seeing the pair. "Ah! look what the woods brought in..please..please come in!" The old crone spoke, shuffling aside to let them in.
But the children were smart, as delicious as the idea of candy was...there was something amiss. The eager way the woman beckoned them seemed off. The boy spoke up first, his eagerness replaced by a wary expression as he glanced inside the darknened house. "Forgive me Ma'am but it looks empty inside..I came thinking there would be lots!" He added innocently already backing up, as he had stolen a look into the building. "Y..yes! Lots..Hansel is right!" It smelled foul, a sharp contrast to the beautiful outside. Gretel looked on in fear, gripping at her twin.
The old woman began to reach for the children..trying to snatch them up, but she did not expect for the shy quiet girl to kick her ankles! What bogus was this? Children weren't usually so smart! The allure of candy was enough! Confused as her trick had worked so many times...she realized it was because they were together. Before she could recover, they were already running together..far from danger.
Milo frowned. It wasn't really how the real story went...but Milo wanted to write about a pair of happy twins...ones who didn't have anything bad happen and while there was a scary moment..it was alright...for them at least. Looking down at their paper... they clenched their jaw, teeth grinding together as they stomped up and turned their paper in and sat back down. Maybe they should have picked a different story on second thought...

Username: leon_a_darkangel Student Name: Tabitha
Response: Tabitha had to admit, she didn't really care for Chucky and the Chocolate Factory. It was kind of boring, and not really that inspiring. Just getting through the movie had been painful, never mind the assignment she had to read. Groaning as the Grimm listened to the teacher talk about today's assignment she scowled, her lower lip slightly jutting out. Fine. FINE. She just wanted to hurry up and get it over with. Grumbling the Grimm clicked a claw against in an annoyed fashion. A room in the chocolate factory? Tabitha stared blankly at her empty assignment, eyes flickering to the clock. The longer she sat here, the longer this was drawn out. Hesitantly, Tabitha picked up her pen and began to carefully write.
Inside the factory, it is rumored that there is a secret room past the Snozzberries, was they grow the mysterious Fozzlenubs. What are they you ask? Why they are a special berry that also produces chocolate in the center. They are one of a kind, Mr. Chucky himself managed to perfect the special treat. Behind closed doors, bright colors line the walls looking like an enchanted, magical forest. The fruits grow to the size of apples, and once bitten into the delicious treats reveal their true nature.
Tabitha looked down at her assignment...wondering what else to put down. Rolling her eyes she leaned back in her seat as she rocked a bit onto the two back legs.
The trees are colored brightly of all shades of the rainbow depending on the season and effects the Fozzlenubs. The leaves they say taste like different flavors of cotton candy while the bark is a mixture of chocolate and hazelnut wood! The chocolate river runs through the new addition to the factory and was added as an extra destination on the guided tour.

Username: leon_a_darkangel Student Name: Emilia
Response: Emilia's eyes shone with delight as she darted into the class that morning. She had never read Chucky and the Chocolate factory and it had been an absolute delight. Although she still had a heavy burden on her shoulders, as her family was torn in light of Wade and Cyril not speaking...but if she focused on that right now she'd break down. Emilia didn't feel like a proper Sister...she hadn't been able to help her loved ones. Zane often reminded her it wasn't her fault, but Emilia felt like it had been somehow. Closing her eyes she exhaled softly, trying to focus on the happy feelings the escape of reading gave her. Hearing she had to describe a room in the beautiful imaginative tale, the nixie looked thoughtful. Carefully, she began to write in her neat, formal handwriting.
The cotton candy fields were created some time ago, to help with the constant demand for the sugary confections treat. Inspired by the traditional cottonfields of history, Mr. Chucky decided late one night he would plant his very own cotton candy fields. The seeds are like sweet little explosions of flavor and develop within a few short weeks the delicate treats that children love so much. Careful extraction is a must, as the cotton candy bundles do not fair well in anything but the perfection temperature conditions. The fluffy, delicious sugar spun puffs decorate a room all to themselves. You must first make it past the gumball pit if you wish to visit this secret one of a kind garden.
Emilia continued on, hurriedly jotting down her thoughts. She looked thoughtful at her paper, adding a bit more about the seeds, and how delicate the crops were.

1. Student picks a 'Leader' type character and defines which traits make them a leader. This must be 100 words or more. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. This must be at least 200 words total 3. ??? Profit!
Username: OneLittleJay Student Name:Barry Character Chosen: Han Solo, from star wars. How are they a Leader?: He is a leader in maybe not the most traditional sense of the word. He is charming and courageous and that keeps his band of misfits together. He rescued Chewbacca and gave him a purpose, He helped rescue Princess Leia and set her up to become the rebel leader. He kept Luke Skywalker from being a sissy baby all the time and actually helped him.
He fathered a ungrateful son who when given to Luke became an evil guy that killed him, but even in his death he helped Rey and finn become a stronger team and give them even a greater purpose to fight.
Response: Barry sat at his desk after his teacher had assinged the task, a leader? 100 words? What a pain, Barry at first couldn't think of a single leader he looked up to. Most leaders that he thought of were kinda wusses to him. Like they were supposed to lead but some drama always happened and he didn't feel like they were genuine. It took him a long time to come up with someone, but when he got to thinking of people that he saw as role models instead of just ones that are considered leaders it was no trouble at all for him to come up with Han Solo. In Barry's mind, there was no manlier man or greater leader than the man who made the Kessel run in 12 parsecs. Maybe he would get marked down he thought because maybe his teacher wouldn't see his reasoning, but to Barry it made sense. He counted the words a couple times adding things here and there. It was a little over 100 words he thought maybe that would be good enough, but lately, Barry had a hard time in school so he didn't really know what teachers were wanting any more.
1. Student picks a 'Leader' type character and defines which traits make them a leader. This must be 100 words or more. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. This must be at least 200 words total 3. ??? Profit!
Username: Katsura Zanshin Student Name: Ila Character Chosen: James T. Kirk - Star Trek How are they a Leader?: Captain Kirk is the very definition of a leader. He's strong, smart, protective, and never tells his crew to do something he wouldn't do. In fact, he's always on the front lines, in the thick of everything. He isn't one to just send his crew down into danger, he leads from the front and cements the loyalty of his crew. He also wasn't afraid to listen to his crew or take into account different opinions. His most trusted friend wasn't even the same species as him, but he never treated Spock as a lesser person with lesser ideas. He counts on and cares for his team and makes them feel like they're more than just assigned workers on his ship.
Response: When Ila heard the assignment, her mind immediately went blank of all fictional characters. No one character stood out in her mind and called her attention. It was as if she'd never read a book or watched a movie with her parents. Ila chewed her lip and tried to think about the last thing she watched with her family. Star Trek. Ila's eyes lit up, of course! Star Trek was her Daddy's favorite show to watch, and the Captain was perfect for this assignment! He was brash, but kind, smart, accepting of all races...so long as they weren't trying to kill him or being horrible to each other. He never sent his crew into a situation he wasn't also willing to head into, and he was loyal to his crew, which made his crew loyal to him.
Ila wrote as fast as she could, her handwriting not very neat, but hopefully still readable. She sat back and counted her words to make sure she had enough. One hundred words was hard, but it seemed like she just barely managed it. Feeling proud of herself, Ila walked to the front of the class and turned her paper in to the teacher. Walking back, she silently thanked her father for showing her Star Trek in the first place.

Username: Katsura Zanshin Student Name: Evelyn Character Chosen: Mia Thermopolis - Princess Diaries How are they a Leader?: Mia's first trait of being a leader is that she actually leads an entire country by being first a princess, and then Queen of Genovia. Mia exemplifies the care a leader should have for those who are less fortunate in their community, for example, what she did for the orphans during the parade. Again she shows how socially conscious she is when she tries to use her fame to raise awareness for good causes, including donations to Greenpeace. Mia also made immense progress for women’s rights when she convinced the government to allow her to be the first queen without a king.
Response: When Evelyn heard the assignment, she knew exactly who to pick. Her favorite princess of all time. Evie was a little obsessed with princesses, to be sure, but honestly, that's what she liked most. Still, she knew she had a great fictional princess to write about! She was just a high schooler, but she found out she was a princess and immediately set out to be the best princess she could be. She tried to learn and understand as much about politics as she could, she helped orphans and donated to Greenpeace, and became the first Queen who didn't need a king. Lots of people might say she's 'just a princess' and not a real role model or a real leader, but Evie thought she was pretty awesome. In fact, one of the best portrayals of a princess she ever read about. Most were usually taken by dragons or rescued by some guy.
Evie counted out her words and saw that she was a little short. Well, no big deal, right? She went back through what she wrote and added a little extra word here, and a little extra word there until she had the right word count. Perfect. Evie headed up to the teacher to turn her assignment in.

Username: Katsura Zanshin Student Name: Julie Original Story: The Hobbit
Story: Smaug curled up on his giant pile of gold in glorious peace. He had finally gotten his revenge on those horrible, tasty little creatures called dwarves. Sure, he knew they were going to go all around Middle Earth telling everyone how HE was the bad guy in this little drama. A snort shot a light stream of fire from the great wyrm's nostrils, smoke curling up to the ceiling, like any of those tiny dwarves could harm HIM; the greatest wyrm of the age. He snickered, knowing he was safe here in Erebor, though his face twisted into a dark snarl when he remembered why he was here.
Dwarves. Dwarves was why he was here. Damn, the Durin line down to the last spawnling. Back when they lived in the Grey Mountains, back when they lived in Dragon territory and just before the cold-drakes drove them out, those nasty, hairy imps had killed his hatchlings. A growled curse loosed itself from his scaly lips. Fire wyrm eggs and cold drake eggs looked NOTHING alike. He knew even the small minded dwarves knew that. They had murdered his spawn on purpose, before they ever had a chance to become as great as himself. The female who had laid the clutch had come to him, demanding he do something. He was only too happy to comply.
They had taken from him something precious; progeny that would have advanced his great line. So he took something precious from them. He waited, biding his time, what was time to an immortal Dragon such as himself? The second he heard the rumors of Erebor he knew it was time to strike. He flew straight to the King Under the Mountain and rained Fire and Death down upon them. They took his hatchlings, he took their gold, their home, and their Arkenstone. Smaug looked at the stone in question and dragged it closer to him, curling around his gold. He would hold Erebor until all of Durin's line died out. Only then would justice truly be served. It was time to take a nap.
