Notes successfully delivered to the professor it seemed the forest was a good place to start. So off he went walking slowly toward the stall. You know it wasn't just the path, the stall itself seemed to darken the world a bit. Amazing how things like that happened. Almost a nice reprieve after all the joy, glitter, and happiness that was the rest of this event.
Truly a unique situation of sorts.
He walked up, watching as some students were still entering the woods before pausing as he looked to the teacher idly. "I delivered the notes. Also..." He held up the vial he'd received from the odd beast before being let go before, sort of taken aback as it was taken away rather quickly and something about a class in a few weeks was mentioned. Right. Well... okay then. "I... see." He wasn't going to question it further and merely nodded, backing away so other students might speak with him before idly looking to the forest.
...oh why not. One more run at it couldn't hurt him... too badly. Maybe. He took a breath before starting down the path, looking around as the forest once more drowned out the rest of the world in an eery silence and feeling of being watched.
He'd just... go take a look at that tree. Maybe whatever made the noise killed it and he could feel better about all of this. Well once he got to the grove, which wouldn't be too far ahead. Wasn't that the fork there?(( MASS PRIZE FILLING OUT~! Why was there this sense of deja vu as he found himself once more walking into the glade. Unfortunately the tree remained, an ever constantly sweet smell that worked to draw people to it. He wasn't as keen to look at it up close this time, instead shirking along the edge at, what he hoped, was out of it's range until he neared some vines and slowly inched closer to inspect them.
These things had thrown him for a loop so many times, yet he'd never truly given them a closer inspection. Something about being near eaten and slammed around had prevented it. But now, he was a bit curious, slowly reaching out to touch one to inspect it, and quickly regretting it. A sharp noise, bells again, ringing as they suddenly curled around him threatening to squeeze him to death this time. At least he wasn't slammed on the ground, but it was growing ever more difficult to breath, until suddenly it was quiet, the ringing of noise around him silencing. As this happened so too did the vines release, seeming tamed by the peace that once more seemed to fall over the forest.
One one of the vines, not that he'd noticed before, was a amulet, which he cautiously took before slinking away from the things, figuring it best to get out while things were calm again. Not that he was too fast, he was still catching his breath again, but at least... well he'd managed not to die.
For the upteenth time?
He wandered down what felt a now familiar path before exiting the forest and staring at the once again bright and colorful booths ahead. Well. At least the teacher hadn't saved him, but that was... probably going to cause a few bruises.

Well it certainly wasn't a note, but as he was preparing to leave the forest he decided he'd inquire with the teacher about the amulet. He slowly walked over, waiting his turn before taking the thing out to inquire with the tall slim man. "I found thi-" Yoink. He hadn't even finished the sentence before the item seemed to vanish from his hand into the possession of the teacher, leaving him a bit wide eyed as the fellow essentially thrust a 'prize' at him and shoved him back. Something about being gone from his presence and well... fine then.
He slowly backed away, a bit taken aback and sort of assuming this had something to do with those multiple saves as well as the amulet before nodding. He hadn't gotten an answer, but best not to inquire further. Perhaps he'd... just avoid the forest now. "Ah... right." It was a slow reply as he backed up a bit before turning to return to the rest of the booths.

He came the dark forest again and again. It was so often he even felt familiar with it. The blowing winds were familiar, too. He giggled, thought the first time he visit here.
He decided to go a glade when he met the path. The glade was full of peace, but now he new it was whole false. The glade was dangerous, never soft and sweet like its scent.
He saw giant tree. Well, should I investigate again? It was difficult mission, but he determined to do it.
Tree was hungry, he felt that. Why the plants eat meat? It was mysterious.
Then, when the tree stretch its vines to him, a four-legged minipet came out and made flare and lava. The vines flied away. He found a vial of shadow, on burnt ground. He picked up and minipet lead him to the edge of the forest.
X asked what he found. He said he found vial of shadow.

Amarus was not sugar-high, just a little tired. Her mood bubbles occasionally chimed above her, as if reminding her she had feelings. Right now they were mostly filled with Zzzzs though. Nevertheless, Zel had glimpsed a forest, and she'd seen it too; in part, it was a daunting place. But a part of her also felt as though she needed to enter it. It wasn't a long walk from the rest of the festivities, but it was dark, and quiet.
Too quiet. Amarus was grateful that Zel would be with her for this; it didn't seem like a particularly happy place. Not that she needed the companionship, not that she was afraid-- not that she'd admit to it, anyway. She turned around to look at the path behind them, but couldn't see it anywhere. Shadows shifted and moved, and the plants were covered in bramble.
"Stick together?" she suggested, her voice falling flat in the empty space. Eugh. She steadied her nerves, however weird the shadows might be-- a part of her still felt right being here. A quiet voice somewhere in distant memories, someone her but not quite her.
The part of her that lit up every time she touched Zel. "Nowhere to go but forward," she suggested, additionally. Ahead of them was a fork in the path. She took a step towards the fork, stood directly in the middle of the two. The dude earlier'd said he was missing notes, right? Pages? Something page-like. She looked down both paths, unsure as to which was better to take.
The sweetness of the glade made Amarus nervous; as a Lotus Eater, she knew full well what sweetness could hide. But the darkness was not always her ally, either, was it? Though in actuality, she'd never personally had trouble with the dark: her ghostly aura flickered brightly even in darkness. An unnatural pink-purple glow.

Zel nodded, taking her hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. He wouldn't lie, the area they were in made him nervous and jumpy - he was not fond of this kind of environment. Give him a plane of fire and brimstone any day. He didn't know what could be hiding in the darkness, what lay in wait around them. Didn't mean he wasn't going to go forward though. "So, then, we have a choice," He smiled and looked between the two paths. "Do we dare the glade or the darker path?"Smiling at her he voiced his vote. "I for one am partial to the darker path myself."

Amarus looked at the cave beyond, and then back to the glade. Why was she afraid of something that called back to her own nature? She hoped that this time her gamble would pay off. "You're partial to the darkness? Well, why don't we save that for last, then?" she suggested, her mirror-silver eyes glinting with amusement.
She took a step towards the glade, holding Zel's hand firmly but as if she was preparing herself to have to steal her hand away to dodge or manoeuvre suddenly. She was prepared, was all. They both probably would be, but her senses were focused on the glade ahead: it wasn't safe to wander somewhere so sweet without a care in the world.
She could never have been prepared for the beautiful, sharp-looking bells on every vine, though... Amarus leaned over and reached one spectral hand out to brush its surface.
The vines began to curl around her. It was pretty much curtains for Amarus-- the vines had swallowed her whole before she had a moment to react. She did smile to herself, as they closed in on her: of course it'd be the plants that would get her.

Zel frowned and followed her into the glade. "I guess we can," he chuckled and squeezed her hand. He wasn't sure what they would find, and he started to look at the bells on the vines. He was tempted to pluck one off for Amarus, but something told him that would be a bad idea. His hands reached up to grab one anyway, watching Amarus out of the corner of his eye... He hiss loudly as the vines quickly swallowed Amarus up, growling as he reached up and grasped at the bell. That's when he noticed the vines begin to curl around him, but soon the music stopped and he was presented with the amulet. Snatching it, he quickly made it out of the forest, heading back to the booth in the hopes of finding Amarus. (( OOC: THE BELLS - Investigate the Vines )) When he returned to Mr. X, he frowned as he snatched the amulet. It's not like he wanted the thing anyway. But he was going to get out of the "sight" of the faceless one, instead he sought out Amarus, looking around the booth for her, hoping she might be found. "Ooooohhhhhh! SpoOoOoOoOoOky!" Was most likely not the correct response to X's booth, but well, Belladonna was a fan of the dark and mysterious and spooky. Maybe not the excessively tall and tentacley, but hey. She also wasn't one to judge. Especially not when the magic word was 'help'. The witch didn't even let the very tall man finish his request before she was happily chirping that she would love to help him, leave it to her, she was an expert note tracker down person! Yeah! And with that she was off, skipping merrily through the spooky forest, one hand continually darting to the back of her neck as she felt unseen eyes on her. In attempt to stave off getting spooked at the spooky woods, she began to laugh nervously and frequently...

Not at all bothered by the lack of instruction (the witch had hastily left without waiting to hear any of it), she happily continued to skip along the path and do her best to ignore the weird feeling of being watched. It wasn't until she reached two diverging paths that she paused to actually consider what to do next. Oh, who was she kidding. She saw something green and smelled something sweet and she was off, tripping happily toward the glade with a tiny sing-song of a tune about poisonous flowers.

Id had been riding a high from her earlier booth successes...which is why she had been so confident when she offered to help X find his pages. But as she stepped into the darkness of the forest, a horrible chill crept up her spine.
She shook herself, wings glittering faintly in the traces of moonlight. She was a big, tough mothman! She could take care of herself! She marched into the cave.

The glade is pretty, all verdant and lush, which only causes Belladonna to momentarily pause and coo over how lovely it all is. If she had to suffer wandering down an odd path with creepy feelings all down her spine just to look at all this gorgeous scenery, it was definitely worth it. Especially that huge tree! Curious as ever the witch hastened closer, eyes wide and excited for what it could hold. All the bells were so lovely, but there seemed something odd about them and the witch kept her hands to herself in regards to that. Perhaps it was unwise to draw so near to the tree, for in a flash the witch is caught by it and she belatedly tries to shout something at it. Whatever it was she did manage did not make the tree happy and she quite vehemently flung off and away, to a place where the world was dark and quiet for a while.
When she woke up again she was behind the booth with a rather unfortunate headache and a bit of petulance over such an unkind tree. Hmph!

Inside, the bioluminescent life on the walls comforted her, but the descent down the stairs filled her with the same uneasiness she had felt in the forest.
Id shrieked as the stairway gave way beneath her. She hovered above it, wings buzzing frantically. The hissing on all sides of her grew ever louder..

Shrieking wildly, Id zoomed out of the cave. She tumbled out into a verdant glen, rubbing her black eyes that were previously dazzled by the brightness in the cave. She looked around.
Well, she didn't have a clue where she was. But at least the hissing had stopped. She took a long breath, and floral perfume filld her lungs. Ridding herself of the last traces of bright spots in her eyes, she noticed the sparkling bells that bedecked the vines growing on the trees surrounding the glen. She stepped closer.

The bells began ringing as the vines coiled around Id's ankles. She squeaked, fighting them off. One grabbed her neck and she began to choke. Id squeezed the vine hard, twisting it in her hands. Her nails dug into the fleshy vegetation. She pulled the largest vine from her throat and bit into it, hard. Green slime dripped from the tendril, and it, along with its horrible brethren, receded back into the shadows. The bells were silenced, and the glen was quiet once more. Id felt the soft fuzz around her neck and took a gasp of air. She dropped to her knees, spitting out the last of the plant goo. In front of her lay a curious amulet. It glittered with a dark light. Id clutched it in her hands. Hopefully, X would be pleased enough with this finding...Id certainly wasn't going to stick around to search for more pages. Also, she needed a toothbrush, pronto.
