It was another thing she remembered Andrew mentioning to her before, how this Professor X had been trying to find all his notes. So, it explained a little more of the purpose of this booth. Why Selene didn't like to receive such things would always be unknown to her, all she had seen of the serpent professor was her extreme need to keep the mini close and give it hugs. The ghoul had no experience in woeing, so obviously she didn't know the proper means to do it nor that some women didn't even want it from certain others.

"Alright," she replied, glad he had made the decision for once and not relying on her to do it like normal. The glade had been nice ... to a point, even if she did prefer the cave for its coldness.

Andrew nodded and headed off for the glade. had he known she preferred others to make decisions he probably would start doing it more often.

Part of him felt for Mr. X. the teacher seemed to have as much trouble with love as himself, though Olivia wasn't nearly as creeped out with him. They just has a fire to work around. something they seemed to be managing, though it required that he continue to hold his tail away from her. He switched sides just to give himself a change of pace.

Once in the glade, Andrew walked over to the vines, he thought he saw something in them. If he could just reach.....

Entering the glade seemed no different the last time she had come upon the nice stretch of green lush vegetation and sweet music. She had been sure there had been fire around the tree the last time she had been here, or perhaps it healed itself so quickly ... or that coming from the cave had landed her on a different side of it.

But, Olivia knew that tree and knew what it was capable of, even if it might have had a note within it. It would lash out and the possibility of terrible things could only come from it, so Olivia did as best she could to avoid it. Instead, she followed what she did the last time and went to look at the sweet smelling bells again; the ones that Molan had disapproved of. Well, this time she was going to get him one and she plucked it off, again not noticing the stench of death coming from it.

Olivia turned just in time to watch as the vines took their hold on Andrew and with a small cry, the little Wight forgot all the worry about his flames and rushed out towards him. Her friend was in trouble, and that's what mattered most. As she got close, she could feel the cool touch of the vines as they pulled her in, tightening their hold on her. She tried to fight them, but they were too strong for her.

A roar barely registered as she gave one more thrash of struggle before she too was out.

Andrew woke up with another headache. What happened? He had been knocked out by those stupid vines again. He would have vengeance. He burned with irritation and then noticed Olivia. He checked on her, asked if she was ok and then after he was satisfied that she was went home to near his headache for a while.

...why was he here again? Wait. Right. He knew. This was the least likely place to run in to certain people. Only an idiot went in the forest more than once. And this was... what? His fourth time? Well it couldn't be that bad. Another disapproving look from the teacher perhaps? It seemed as if no one had actually died? Or he hadn't heard of it.

Either they were very good at hushing those details or something.

Either way, he found himself wandering back into the forest, still toting two notes for the teacher as it was. He'd end up giving the woman a heart attack if he ended up with another. Well, hopefully not? Still, best to just get it over with. He'd have a few moments of potential peace.

He walked in slowly, listening to nothing as everything slipped away, engulfed once more by the forest. He was getting used to the odd feeling of things watching him, peering at him from the darkened shadows. Actually, eery as it was, he was becoming rather accustomed to the odd forest. At least until he got to the grove. That seemed rather unpleasant each time.

A few more steps along and the path turned slightly to reveal the fork ahead. Well there went the peace and quiet. He took a deep breath as he continued along, turning for the grove.

Maybe he should try that cave sometime...

Molan hesitated a bit, staring at the tree as he entered the grove. He watched it silently a few minutes, not exactly keen to be thrown around again. This really hadn't been a good idea for escape, he just...

Suddenly a loud growl, followed by a roar drew his attention to another side of the grove. That, that was not good. Something he wanted nothing to do with at all. He shifted a few steps back after his frozen horrified stare at what could only be death before suddenly bolting in the opposite direction of it. ANYTHING. ANYTHING had to be better than that. The tree was obviously forgotten as he darted off, managing to avoid the tendrils that had already beaten him more than a few times.

He wasn't quite sure where he'd gone, a section of this forest that was new, but when he noticed his location... it was still green, however far less lush and vibrant. More ill, and plagued looking than anything...

Great what was going to eat him here?

Why was he here again? Was it really for notes? No, he was starting to hate that tree. It would burn. He marched away to go see it.

Andrew hissed at the tree, and stared at it, fire burning. the tree grabbed him and started to zap all his fear. suddenly X appeared and grabbed his arm... what? He froze as the note was shoved into his hands. He didn't want this..... He mumbled and walked out of the forest again, tail swishing in agitation. Soon tree, soon.

A few steps more and he slowed as he realized the slick liquid look was some vile thing. His shoes seemed to stick to it, causing him to slow as he worked to move along. It wasn't until he'd moved a ways that he realized the trees were no longer that, but bones sticking at strange angles, the ground a slow shifting mass of flesh. That was... a pleasant thought. Though not really. The world was still a darkened shade as he moved along, cautiously looking about as he was not rather lost in the woods.

Perhaps another scornful look from the teacher would have been better. Too late for that now.

As he moved along he slowed as he realized there was a... large hulking form before him. He wasn't keen on touching any bones and it seemed the only path was ahead, so he slowly crept forward, halting only when the still form suddenly shifted to sit up and stared at him. Rather than it's face though, he was greeted with his own reflection. A startled version of himself before the thing slowly moved forward. He didn't try to fight it, while it was prowling closer it didn't seem eager to fight. No suddenly jerky movements that would suggest an aggressive nature. Until he suddenly knocked him down, pinning him to the ground And then it spoke, sort of. He flinched as bit as it laughed, the noise sharp, painful almost. Enough to frighten the wildlife he hadn't realized was there. It's words were in riddle more than anything it felt, a strange creature to be truthful.

One he'd never see before to say the least.

A riddle... what it was? He frowned a bit, pondering the words quietly as the thing spoke. His freedom was the prize of a correct guess... and being wrong... well. He stared at the thing, recalling it's words of tearing things apart. Right... he had an idea of what would come should he be wrong.

Andrew was stubborn he was going to get something off that tree besides note. He wasn't supposed to go in, but he rarely listened to the rule anyway.

The beebs he had won followed him tasting the air occasionally.

Andrew was about ready to tackle the tree, when he heard something he did not want to hear. What was? he turned and froze, unable to get his legs working again, his tail burned low.

The Beeb scurried off tot he bushes abandoning him. Above Andrew's head appeared a mark, gonk . Maybe he should have just left the tree well enough alone.

Part 4

He recognized the place, he had been here before. He had had some time to ponder the riddle. Maybe he had an answer? He walked over to the beast and woke it up.

Part 1

Kari stared at the entrance of the forest in apprehension. This was supposed to be an event booth, right? Turning back to look at the teacher, Kari wasn't sure staying here would be a much better idea, and certainly wouldn't allow her to find his missing notes. Deciding to brave the forest, she took a steadying breath and crossed through the entrance to the forest.

Immediately upon crossing into the forest, the jovial sounds that had been so clear before died out behind her. She turned to find that the path she'd just come through was gone. A cold chill passed over her and she shifted in an attempt to shake the feeling off. "Guess I can only go forward now", she murmured as she proceeded forward down the gravel pathway.

Within what felt like a minute, she came to a fork in the path. She let out a groan as she realized she'd never asked about where the note would be located. Then again, he probably wouldn't be sending people to go fetch them if he did know... would he? Observing her options, she noted a cave and glade respectively on each side.

"Dark cave or sweet-smelling glade, doesn't take a mad scientist to see which is at least more appealing", she reasoned to herself, "though, appearances can be deceiving... it still looks warmer towards the glade". With her decision made, she set off to see if she could find the elusive note.

Part 3

Walking into the glade, Kari is bombarded by the smell of sweetness and chiming. It smelled so sickeningly sweet that even she had a hard time stomaching it. The slow chiming from the objects on the vines leaves a feeling of foreboding. Wanting nothing more than to find the note quickly and leave, she makes her way straight to the tree in hopes of finding a note laying forgotten among the roots.

As she gets closer, she notices the familiar patch of white among the brown and green. "A Note!", she gasps, quickening her pace. Before she can retrieve the paper, however, the tree springs to life and wraps a branch around her midsection. "Looks like I'll have to do this the hard way", she grunts.

With the words barely out of her mouth, a thunderous roar sounds from the path where she'd entered. A hideous creature storms down the path, startling the tree enough that it has forgotten all about its prey. Using the opportunity, Kari slips out of the tree's grip and puts as much distance as she can between herself and what was probably not a friend.
