{ The Troublemaker }
{Subject of my masterpiece; Loki }
╔══════════════╗

Evelyn watched Loki eat while she ate herself. It was interesting to watch, she ate with such speed! But then again, on a empty stomach, anything could happen and glancing about, over half of the cafeteria was eating like this. Evelyn shook her head and laughed quietly, this school year was going to be so interesting. Evelyn soon finished her plate and stood up, “I’ll be right back.”

She got up and went back to the buffet, grabbing a plate and started to fill it with sweets. She hummed, this was usual. People could stare at her oddly now, but they would get used to it. Then, she went over to alcohol section and peered through the selection, to see if her favorite drink was here. Her eyes lit up instantly as they landed on a Blue Moon bottle. She cheered and grabbed it, before grabbing a orange slice that was there and headed back into the table.

When she sat, she opened the beer and slid the orange in and took a swing and she sighed.
“Oh, that hit the spot.” She started to eat at her sweets but then, she soon heard yelling and Evelyn peered up. There was the black-haired girl yelling at one of the twins. Soon however, her fist collided into the side of his face. Evelyn’s eyes widened slightly as she watched the girl walk away, some girls glaring daggers at her and the boy trying to challenge her back, but the brother held him back.

It had grown very quiet in the cafeteria and the silence was broken by Evelyn’s loud laugh. She couldn’t believe it! But then again, that boy had it coming. Patting her hand against the table, she continued to laugh, ignoring the odd stares she was getting. After her fit she glanced at Loki, a playful smile and glance in her eyes,
“Oh hey, you’re not the only one throwing punches!”

Yes, this school was going to be very interesting.

They had been talking all quietly; Vincent even threw a thought or two. He felt himself get more confident with this group, they were so welcoming. These were the first people he could actually call friends. Maybe, just maybe they could help heal is rather irritating condition. He looked up at Fraya as she started to stand up and grab some plates and went to go put them up. He watched her go the wrong way and he almost stood up to go tell her, but one of the twins – the lighter haired one – had gone up to her

He watched her freeze and he looked at her sadly, knowing every emotion she was going through. He grew almost a little angry on the inside, Fraya was a sweet girl but she did not deserve that. He watched Fraya as she put up the dishes and came back. He could already feel the words at the bottom of his throat, Hey, those boys aren’t worth that type of attention and sadness or even, You’re better than them, that’s all that matters. But like always, his body would not let them permit past his lips. He looked down for a moment before looking back at her and giving her a small smile.

“H-Hey, everything is going to b-be fine,” As that is a good comforting sentence. He mumbled in his head and he sighed at himself before returning to his food. Katarina speaking brought made him look up and he was slightly shocked to see her so angry. Katarina stood up and then went over to the boy and not a minute passed before her fist had collided into the side of his face. Vincent’s eyes widened, shocked to see such anger and power coming from her.

Before the boy could do anything, Katarina had left and returned to the table, continuing her cake like nothing had happened. Vincent just watched her in shock before he looked back down and finished his food.

Meanwhile, he was taking a mental note to never get her mad.

She sighed, slouching a bit when she was described as too shy. She knew this, but, it still hurt, a bit. However, had it been the darker boy who had touched her, she would probably have replied in her quirky way, as attention from him was a good thing in her book at the moment. As Kata got up in such a way that she did, Fray looked up, watching with a surprised expression on her face. Hva? What's she doing? When the boy was hit, Fray's eyes went wide. She was happy that Kata stood up for her, but... Well, he didn't have to be hit. She watched Kata come back to the table, sharing a wide-eyed look with Vince. She snickered, standing to nod to the group. She turned, walking over to the table the boys were at, and she crouched, sitting on her heels and resting her chin on the table, looking to the boy. "Are you okay? That almost looked like it had to hurt. Anything I can do?" She poured out the questions, her words slurring together and her accent showing through.

A fuming and awestruck Jason slowly eased himself back into his chair. His brother patted his shoulder, as he rubbed the side of his face. It didn't hurt, it was just a shock to be hit out of the blue like that for no reason at all. He put tongue to cheek and tried to come up with an explanation for that. But that smell was still in his nostrils, playing with his senses, distracting him. He couldn't believe that smell had come from a person. He saw the dark-haired girl, the laughing girl go back to the same table as the red-head. So that's why...

The red-head over to their table and squatted in front of them. Her questions were directed at him, but he saw her sideways glance at her brother. "Yeah. I'm fine," he muttered, before adding: "Tell me, who was that?" The girl answered: Kata. She wasn't from the States. She'd said something in another language before she hit him. "I see. Tell her she has a good right hook." He rose from his seat without saying goodbye to either his brother or the red-head. His heavy work boots stomping on the floors, he exited the Lunare through a back door in the Cafe, leading directly outside. The group of girls who were previously vying for attention from him now chattered amongst themselves as to why he was leaving without having eaten.

Once outside, he picked up his speed to a brisk pace. He jogged along the pathway until it ended, then he hit the grass at a sprint. He burst along the campus, heading towards the forest. He knew he shouldn't be heading out by himself, but he didn't know anyone who would be able to keep up with his speed and didn't feel much like slowing for someone to follow him, when all he wanted was to think. Kata... Kata... Kata. He kept repeating her name in his head as he jumped over fallen trees, going off the beaten path. The scent no longer lingered in his nostrils, but he remembered how it was. There was no way to describe it: it was her own, as unique as the wildflowers and the forest rain. He had never smelt anything quite like it, never had anything intoxicate him so. The way her skin rippled with rage... It was arousing just to think about it.

He had gone far into the forest. He could find his way easily back and before sunset, but all he wanted was to picture Kata and imagine her scent. Something about her was covering him in goosebumps and sending shivers through his body. He stopped running and backed up against a leaning tree. He could have run more--he always thought better when he was running, the wind against his face, but he just stopped. He pulled out his harmonica and flipped it back and forth between his hands a few times before bringing it up to his lips. He blew into it, a harsh sound this time, and paused, thinking of what he would play. Something romantic, like Gael.

Whats my problem?...

Loki finished off her plate and sat back, completely satisfied. She watched as Evelyn cleared her own plate and went up to the desert table. When she returned Loki gaped at the mound of sweets on Evelyn's plate, and once again her mouth started to water, she licked her lips. Dessert, Mmmmmm..... Loki was distracted by a commotion coming from across the hall and saw her room mate deck someone across the face. Loki would have stared at Kata for quite a while if not Evelyn's sudden burst of laughter. He glanced at her friend, slightly worried at first, but when she made the comment about her not being the only one to punch someone, Loki's fave broke into a grin and she started laughing too.

Wiping a tear from her eye she drew in a deep breath and smiled at Evelyn. "Whada you say we go find somewhere else ti be before I get an urge to get violent?" she said half jokingly. She stood and grabbed her plate, beckoning Evelyn to come along.

...Its a long story.

You ask me why I'm reckless....

Asp's only reaction to the firm body behind her was to stand completely still. Her breath caught in her throat when she heard a silky voice in her ear and saw a fine looking white wine become placed in front of her. But as soon as the presence had come, it was gone. She let her breath out, finally pouring herself a glass of wine.

After gathering her dish and glass, she turned around, only to see a very attractive brunette boy get smacked by a girl she'd seen that morning. She laughed to herself, trying to be quiet. She wasn't sure which of the boys at the table had recommended the wine, they looked so much alike. She made her way back to the table where Mark and Christian were talking while she tried to guess. She heard Christian mention California and smiled. "It is nice there", she commented as she put her dishes onto the table. She swirled the wine in the glass, checking the quality. The wine made long drips down the insides of the glass, "candles" as they were called. It meant a good quality wine, just as the aroma that was wafting into her nose.

She sipped and her eyes widened. The wine was fantastic, almost enough to distract her from her shrimp. She finished her meal with Christian and Mark as people began to filter out of the dining hall. "So Mark, you mind showing us around a little? Christian, you want to come along?".

.....And I'll respond with, "Why aren't you?"

Gael watched his brother walk off in a stupor. If anything, he should've used the smack as fodder for flirtation. He passed his hand through his dark hair and picked up his guitar. He realized the red head was still next to him. Gael was right, she was very shy. Maybe he could do something about that.

"Your accent is beautiful" he purred, laying on the charm. He stood and placed his guitar on his back and shouldered his bag. He knelt to look the girl in the eye, tilting his head so his forehead was close to hers. "I have some things to do today, but I'll see you around, my dear". He smiled and touched her cheek with his hand.

He turned on his heel and left through the same door his brother had. It was now close to midday, and the sun on the grass was warm and inviting. Gael shaded his eyes with his hand and gazed out to the far wall. The gate was slightly ajar. He sighed, wondering what was up with Jason. He walked back to the Nothernmost door and up several flights of stairs. His room was on the fourth floor, a large corner room, a single since he was an older student.

He placed his guitar on its stand next to the large floor length mirror mounted on his closet door. He removed his shirt and fell into his bed, letting the sun warm him. His eyes slowly closed and he dozed off, wondering when Jason would return.

Cristian took a bite out of all the tid-bits he had on his plate. The Beef he already knew was amazing, but the chicken! It rivaled even his mothers home made lemon-orange roasted chicken. He missed his mom, but knew that shed not want him to be depressed all the time. He looked up at Asp as she walked up and commented on California. He nodded, his mouth full of chicken. He took another bite of his salad, and finished the chicken when Asp and Mark finished their meals and Asp asked if Mark would show them around, then asked Cristian if he'd like to come along. He was happy for that. He hadn't had many friends, even before going to the university back east, and since the incident he hadn't even had anyone to really talk to. Happy that these people, especially Asp accepted him so quickly, even though he was younger than them he stood up, dishes in hand, and looked at her. "Sure! I'd love to tag along." he said. As he walked over to the dishes he decided that he'd hag out with Asp and Mark for as long as they'd permit. He just hoped they would let him.

It was all she could do not to swoon. Without thinking about it, she lifted a hand to touch her cheek where he had lightly. Fray sighed, standing up and turning to walk slowly and almost dreamily back to the table as she thought. Okay, this is odd. Enough. This is just a boy. A self-centered, egotistical one, at that! She continued to chide herself, but was bought back as she approached the table. Sitting down, she picked her sketch book, clutching it to her chest tightly. After a moment, she set the book down, flipping it open to a page near the back. She reached into her pocket, pulling out her pencils. Looking up, she chose Vince's hand as her current subject. She began sketching hurriedly, as if she had somewhere to go, but, really, she just wanted to keep herself concentrating on something, and, working hard to make the picture look good while going so fast was a challenge in itself.

Sasha stood up as she watched one of the boys be decked by another girl she hadn't seen before. As much as Sasha didn't want to admit it, she enjoyed watching it happen. Boys were often full of themselves, well boys in the position of those two. Sasha turned on her heel to watch the whole commotion take place. Her arms crossed while she let a satisfied expression play across her face. A chuckle even escaped her lips as she turned and lost interest once the twins left. Sasha picked up her things and put her tray away before deciding to go congratulate and complement the girl who had hit that one twin. It took Sasha a while but she managed to find the girl and she made her way across the dining hall and over to the girl.

Sasha would move past the people around her. She would make sure not to touch anyone. Her ice blue hues cold like always, but as she reached the other girl Sasha smiled and sat down next to her. Even Sasha's eyes seemed to show happiness as she looked at the other girl.

"Hey! Nice job putting that show off in his place. I think he needed it...a lot. Oh, I'm Sasha and it's a pleasure to meet you."

Sasha would say as she threw her book on the table and set her things down beside her. She would then offer her hand in durring her introduction of herself to the girl.

Kata was a little surprised to see Fraya returning to the table. Did I do the wrong thing? Her brow creased in confused frustration and she twisted in her seat to see her friend conversing with the boy she had just hit. She felt a pang of guilt--she hadn't been thinking when she attacked him, she only went with a strong instinct. What have I done? Her face fell. She looked to Vincent, hoping for some comfort from him.

She felt someone as they sat down next to her. She twisted around again to see blue eyes, just like hers. It was always a force of habit to compare other blue eyes with hers. Her mother had always told her they were a rare beauty. She couldn't help but be startled at eyes that mirrored her own. "Um... hello!" she answered, if a little to hesitantly. She took Sasha's hand and lightly shook it. "Nice to meet you as well. I'm Kata. Um...but I--" she looked back to where the twins were, but the one she hit had disappeared "--I don't know what I was doing, to be honest." She turned to face Sasha once more. Fraya seems to have forgiven him, whoever he was... She looked down at the book Sasha had put onto the table. It looked old, therefore interesting. She made a note in her head to remember to ask her about it.

"Who was he?"

Sasha would shake Kata's hand for a moment before nodding to Vincent as a way of saying hello. She would properly introduce herself to him later, for now there were more pressing matters that had her attention. In a moment she had listened to Kata tell her she wasn't sure why she did that. It would make Sasha laugh slightly as she crossed her arms. Her icy blue hues locked onto Kata as she asked about the twins. Sasha had been here for a few months, and assumed Kata was another new student. So being her usual self, Sasha began to explain how and what she knew about the twins.

"Well, first off let me say he deserved it. The boy needs to be put in his place. They both do in my opinion. They are the twins, they are almost always seen together from what I have gathered, and they are full of themselves. Also they are showoffs. The one you hit, his names Jason. I've watched them for some time, and yet I don't know the other one's name. They annoy me to be honest. My opinion is they need to be knocked down a few pegs and they would be alright people. So when I say you hit Jason well I had to come thank you. It was the first time I have laughed since I got here and it did me a whole lot of good."

Sasha would explain as she leaned forward shielding her words from anyone outside the table. To those outside the table it would just look like another moment of gossip..well it honestly for the most part was, but that was beside the point. Sasha was just answering questions with her own opinions thrown in the mix.

Kata looked at Fraya through downcast eyes as she returned to her seat. She still felt bad, even as she listened to Sasha describe Jason as such a horrible person. How exactly were they such bad people? Fray didn't have too much of a problem with them. Only I got angry at him. Sasha had her mind set on hating the two it seemed, so Kata didn't think it would be good to ask that question. She stayed quiet as Sasha continued to tell her about the twins; it seemed only Jason had a bad reputation. Fraya seemed to be slightly glowing after her talk with the twin who left last. Kata came to the conclusion that if she ever saw Jason again, she would apologize, blame it on whatever it is that she was.

Kata glanced sideways at Vincent as Sasha continued to whisper in her ear. She wanted him to make eye contact with her, she wanted to reach out to him, she even wanted him to reach out to her. He seemed too far away, for some odd reason, some very odd reason. A faint smile appeared on her face, as if she had some inside joke.

"So, what are you reading?" Kata moved her hand over to the book, and opened the binding, looking at the first page and then to Sasha, waiting for her to tell her about it.

Don't you bring your sadness
down on me.

Her high-pitched laughter echoed through the Cafe. It was nothing new. In the short month that she had been here, Rosa had almost always been in the throws of laughter. For the simple fact that she was always smiling, she had been welcomed with open arms into the different cliques within Blackthorn Academy. Her short stature had won over the hearts of most everyone. They believed her to be too cute for words, even though she was older than most of the first and second years. Her knitting and jewelry making had attracted many followers, already having been asked to make this scarf, or that necklace. She would oblige, for a price of course. Her father wanted her to be a frugal girl, for her husband. Not that she would ever marry a man.

Seeing Jason getting hit was one of the things she least expected, but could not help but enjoy. The girl who had punched him was a new one; Jason had probably already tried to put the moves on her. Her friend sitting next to her at the table leaned over and asked her opinion of the puncher. "She's pretty enough, but not my kind of girl. Doesn't look like she's Jason's kind of girl either!" She had the entire table laughing along with her.

It was nice for Rosa to be able to be open about her sexuality. She kept it hidden from most back in Chicago, including her family. She refused to take for granted someone who accepted her for being what she was. She also refused to think of herself as solely a lesbian. She was more than that: she was a peace keeper, a comedian, a dreamer, an artist, a craftsman, a nature lover, a lover in general, and so many other things worthy of notice. If only others could see that about her, but until that day, she tries to see the good in all things and not focus on the hate.
