My band only marches original music from some of the best composers out there. This year we're doing a show composed by a #1 composer, called:
"The Colors of the Sea"
At first I was really pissed off cuz I thought "A show about the ocean?! Aren't these writers suppose to be the best?! Way to be creative!! (Since I live near the beach, 'the ocean' seems so boring to me.)" but we've started playing the music already and it seems really nice. It's very... "colorful". lol

my director went through two shows this year. us drill instructors agreed to change our first show cuz everyone sucked at it. it was called "journey to the center of the earth" we picked it before the movie came out. so when marching band started he handed out the new show,"ballet sacra" and miraculously everyone knows it now and its only been 7 days!!! its not any less diffucult than the last one but i think its because the parts are evenly distributed among the sections and not all on the woodwinds. its really cool so far.

my band is doing a science themed show. We are going to have big test tubes and titer totters that our drum line will be on. The way he puts it the music will go through how science has changed over the years. We are playing Viva la Vida by cold play.
