<<@Farrah: Oh...nothing's really happened yet...not until later this month... =P >>
<<@Everyone and his/her momma: ...al'right...as Deity promised... xP ...here is 'postzilla'.>>
::A howling wind scrapes against the icey cliffside, chunks of ice and snow darting weightlessly through the air in a powerful blizzard. The winds are over a hundred miles an hour, lowering temperatures to far below zero. The long-missing owner of the Club Orion establishment remains in the frigid wilderness, the barren wasteland of the nigh infinite Eunric mountain ranges. He is in northern Tonep, a region of the planet Orion that is oddly much colder than its surrounding territories. Some say it is the gods' warning to keep intruders out. Perhaps it is to keep something in. What is known is that hardly anything lives here, barring large animals that hibernate during the coldest months of winter.
The tall Orinian is crouched down, seated on the backs of his feet at the edge of a cliff at a maddening height of over twenty-eight miles above sea level. Still, there are mountain peaks reaching altitudes over twice this size. Nevertheless, Deity remains, searching through this enormous area of land in search of something he desperately needs. Or so it seems. The piercing wind blows the brim of his hat around wildly, the built-in strap inside of it being the reason it even remains on his head. The boy's slender legs push him slowly upwards, not having much difficulty staying straight, even with the high winds. He's been searching for days, and hasn't had any rest in the same length of time. Yuki is probably out with her family members, leaving Deity alone for the time being.
Hardly a faint speck in the distance when compared to the massive mounds of snow and peaks of continental rock, and not to mention the blizzard surrounding them, Deity decides a break is in order. He's done nothing but rest, eat, and search for three months. No matter how determined he is, he wouldn't mind doing something else. For instance, having a professionally cooked meal for once. Ki-frying large beasts of the area gets a little old, and there's not much taste to it.
Without waiting another second, Deity turns his head - his scarf, headband and glasses masking his face - and dives off of the cliff edge, falling down a two-mile vertical face at ever-increasing speed. He looks like either a sky-diver or a crazed bungee jumper. Without a bungee. One hundred feet short of rock bottom, he swiftly arches and speeds off through the canyon below, snow and rocks being blown into the sky behind him at the speed of his flight. Just as he does this, he increases his ki strength from 0 to over 12 million, enough to serve the current purpose. He's travelling faster than one hundred thousand miles per hour (roughly Mach 139), amazingly weaving through the twisting canyon path as though he's jogging. The massive gorge widens more and more, until it finally just curves outward into the bases of two large mesas, opening Deity's path into a giant stretch of rocky plains, dotted with uprises of small mountain formations and hills. Some would find it hard to believe that this particular area is actually just one freakishly gargantuan mountain.
It takes a few moments, but the quiet Tonepian reaches the end of this huge plateau, which leads into another few-mile drop to another labyrinth of caves, ravines, mountains and icey cliffs. The blizzard is much weaker in this area however, and the altitude makes it more inhabitable for other types of life. In turn, Deity dives down over the cliff in another abrupt and tight arch, racing down the cliffside like a humanoid missile, his arms resting at his sides as his scarf and trenchcoat flap uncontrollably in the fierce wind. In other to keep speed up as much as possible, Deity keeps his demonic wolflike tail against the backs of his legs; he's getting better at controlling the new appendage. His velocity brings down behind him a downpour of rocks and snow, having followed him on his path across the tableland of snowy rock.
Pulling up a final time in another tight curve, Deity fires off without any loss in speed, the avalanche pounding downward into the rocks behind him. A few more seconds pass before the rocks begin growing smaller and smaller, the snow and ice becoming less thick, and more animals are shown roaming free. The rare species of demonic snow wolves - the family of whom Yuki is a member - is absent from any of these groups. Almost as if shunned from the rest of the population, they tend to stay high up in the farthest reaches of the mountains, beyond the habitat survivable by some creatures. Though not because he is a wolf demon, in this form Deity is very much capable of withstanding whatever the weather can throw at him, even if it can be uncomfortable at times.
Now with the mighty Eunric range behind him, Deity blasts across the dry and chilly landscape of middle Tonep, blowing up dust behind him in his wake. Realizing that this sort of speed isn't really necessary now that he's cleared the frozen desert, the tall devil comes to a neck-breaking halt, a huge cloud of dust enveloping him as his clothes all jut forward for a second before falling back into place. Floating in a standing position about three hundred feet from the grass below, Deity lowers his power again to a mere 200. Big enough to be noticed, small enough to be ignored. He doesn't need attention. The demon flies downward, his leather boots landing with a thud on the half-frozen blades of blueish green grass before he again dashes away, this time on foot, though still at an impressive speed of just over Mach 2, which creates a heavy bang the moment he takes off - a result of the slower soundwaves being broken in his path. He is headed for one of the largest cities of the planet: Tonep Capitol City. Whether just to rest or get some food, he could use some civilization.
Upon reaching the outskirts of the city, where there are a few smaller towns and homes scattered about the land, Deity begins slowing down, until he finally reaches a road. The streets on this planet are mainly black and slick, nearly mirrorlike in their ability to reflection nearby images. The farther away an object is, the less it reflects, which is why the numerous moons of the planet and the bright local star don't blind passengers and pedestrians alike. Now moving at a quiet walking pace, Deity glances up at the sky. It's now a deep shade of purple, nearly black. It's decorated with thousands of tiny stars on this cloudless night, also lighted by the three moons visible from this side of the planet. The smaller white one is farther off, shadowed by the huge blue and red moons closer to Orion. The fourth moon is only viewable from Ienari, on the other side of the planet. As Deity gazes upon such a sight, he finds himself focusing on the stars themselves, part of him hoping to find the Sun, around which revolves the Earth. Part of him longs to go back home to his friends. A devilish snarl bursts from his throat, startling a few fellow joggers and pedestrians that move by the demon. He mustn't think of such things. He has better things to do than long for what is no longer his.
Lost in his thoughts, Deity hardly realizes where he is until he's a few miles inside the city, walking calmly along the filled sidewalk with his head held low and his black-clawed hands stuffed halfway into his coat pockets. The towering buildings around him are all huge, stretching up into the sky over three thousand feet into the air, and covering a much greater area than those found on Earth. Their corners are rounded off in most cases, and the smaller ones are completely semicircular in shape. The skyscrapers turn the streets into large tunnels of air, currents flowing freely through them and chilling them more so. Tonepians don't tend to notice it however, most having been born and raised here. Around the demon are hundreds of people, filling the wide sidewalks and crossing the streets during the halt signals on this busy night. As for Deity's dark attire and otherwise strange appearance, he actually is a bore as far as this crowd is concerned, even when considering the dark, furry tail. Huge insect-like creatures, demonic individuals who vaguely resemble animals common on Earth, and even entirely pure energy-based beings are scattered through the cluster of elves, dwarves, mages and trolls roaming the area. Looking for a human here is like looking for a needle in a haystack, so Deity isn't of much interest.
Strange automobiles fill the roadways, mostly at a standstill due to hectic traffic. Mostly all of them are oblong or spherical, floating a foot or so from the ground and emanating a soft humming sound. Their engines altogether are actually quite loud though, so that doesn't do much good on the ears. The sky is dotted with the tiny lights of distant craft, either in the sky of Orion or its outer atmosphere, in orbit. Orion is a station of sorts of the galaxy it resides in, visited frequently by the natives of other planets. A great deal of the planet's jurisdiction is thanks to the power of Taliman's Black Force, which controls all of Orion and hundreds of other systems. Finding Orinian technology on other planets isn't a rare sight.
Walking amongst a crowding line of pedestrians preparing to cross the street at the next halt signal, Deity is lost in the group of people, keeping his head low and his face hidden, though it is pretty much masked from view no matter which way he turns his head. A commotion soon breaks out in the distance, the sounds of shouting and struggling around the corner of the next street. Deity glances up from behind his glasses, though he can't see anything, being of the shorter people in this crowd. A few more seconds pass, and then loud gunshots are fired, and a speeding policepod spins into view, headed for the stalled lane of vehicles on this road. The engine at the back of the oblong pod car has been shot up and is malfunctioning, the catlike Choran policeman inside struggling to regain control of the vehicle. Everyone winces upon the impact, but then look stunned. Feet away from impending impact, the car has instead run into Deity's left palm, the boy now standing a meter away from the stilled lane. There's a big dent in the side of the shot-up policeman's pod, but he appears to be fine, if not a little startled. Peeking out of the side window to find his rescuer, he sees Deity and nods with a gracious smile.::
Th-thank you, son...
::The officer looks perplexed when Deity doesn't even look at him, staying silent as he looks down this second street to see the cause of the ruckus. Near a convenience store are another two pods: a completely spherical and run-down black one, and the oblong-shaped policepod of another Choran officer, who lies motionless in the street. Deity listens for a moment - even from a distance of over a hundred feet - and hears his heart pumping. He's still alive, his attackers now swerving dangerously across the slick road as they speed off. Lowering his hand from the side of the pod car, Deity bends his knees a moment before propelling himself into the air in a mighty leap, sending him several dozen meters through the air and earning a collective gasp from the watching crowd.
The pods pick up speed swiftly as they race down the road, having to pull up in order to ride over the crossing paths of other vehicles, and oncoming traffic. There are four people in the two cars; a bear demon couple ride the police pod. The robbers' original transportation vehicle is manned by some sort of burly lizard demon and another feathered demon with what appears to be birdlike qualities. They're all wearing black hoods and what looks like black latex outfits. The two bear demons slip off their hoods, revealing their faces as they speed off now into an empty alleyway between two buildings. Without warning, two slender black boots hammer into the steep angle of the car, heavily denting the hood and sending the pod upward into a mad vertical spin. The mystic wolf demon stands in the center of the alleyway where he landed, his tail and loose clothing coming to a halt as the pod lands with a heavy crash behind him. The two robbers inside scream out as they land, but they're not dead, or even severly injured.
The other two thieves, who were following behind, come to a screeching halt as they see a young boy appear to stomp their friends' patrol pod several meters through the air. The side doors open, their loot remaining in the backseat as they emerge from the transportation, both wielding firearms. Unlike the guns used by the demon slayer, these aren't custom made, and are slower and weaker. They make guns as powerful as the ones Angel uses, but lowlifes like these wouldn't be able to get their hands on any. The first one to open his mouth is the hawk demon, aiming his odd-looking automatic rifle at Deity's body.::
Whattaya' think y're doin', kid? Get ******** outta th'way!
::He stands at a very slim 8'6", but has no real muscle on him. While strong for a demon of these parts, his weak energy signature shows he has no fighting skills. The shorter but more heavily built lizard demon lifts one of his huge four-foot arms, a wristband there appearing to jump to life, transforming into a handgun that fits into his four-fingered palm while connected to his forearm. He fires the gun at Deity's feet as a warning shot, grinning a toothy smirk. The mysterious youth doesn't react to the gunshot, which leaves a thick hole in the sturdy slick black pavement before him. Instead, he stands still, his legs spread about two feet apart as his hands rest at his sides. The two other demons force the crushed doors off of their pods, squeezing out with annoyed growls. The male stands at an intimidating 16'7" tall, the girl just reaching 14'2". Their shaggy fur makes them look even more gigantic. They too draw weapons, though they're much heavier, easily a few hundred pounds in weight, and appearing to be heavy-impact rifles of some sort.::
A'ight then. We'll move ya' ourselves!
::From behind Deity, the headstrong female bear demon speaks up before raising her heavy weaponry, alerting her two comrades to get out of the way. Just as they move around to their partners' side, she squeezes the trigger and a bright blue beam of light screams out of the cannon in the blink of an eye, the recoil knocking the demon back a step. The strange projectile hits its target with a loud bang and a thick blue cloud of smoke. This weapon is clearly meant for short-range destruction against many targets. The smoke quickly floats out of the way, and Deity still hasn't moved. The thieves all look alarmed to say the least, struggling with the idea that such a weapon didn't affect a single, tiny person.
The mystic wolf demon bursts into action with a swift left elbow to the face of the bird demon, who promptly twirls backwards through the air, bouncing off the building wall and hitting the pavement again. The bear man quickly steps back at the impressive speed of the devil, who is now floating in the air. Deity twists his body counter-clockwise and executes a right shuffle side kick, thrusting his right heel backwards and into the jaw of the female demon. Even with a weight of over a few tons, she reels into the air and lands hard on the ground. The repitilian aims his handgun, which inexplicably disappears, much to the confusion of he and his friend. Lowering his leg from the back kick, Deity lifts his left hand, revealing the nanomachine wristband, no longer transformed as a gun. He tosses it out of the thief's reach, then rushes forward to meet him.::
...w-wait!!
::In a single move, Deity ends his approach with a deft horizontal clockwise spin along the ground, pushing himself up with his right arm in a single-handed handstand, and smashing the left sole of his boot into the demon's jaw. He flies helplessly upward from the force of the strike, Deity quickly following him by leaping up and going into a longitudinal clockwise barrel roll. Just as he reaches the reptilian he uncoils his body and backhands him back downward with a single right-handed blow. The demon slams into the pavement, then bounces up into the building wall, his movement halted as he falls unconscious into the dumpster below.
As a last resort - and hoping this monstrous boy is distracted - the final remaining bearlike demon lifts his heavy cannon and fires. Faster than the criminal can react, the shot is batted down harmlessly with an open-palm strike, exploding upon contact with the ground as Deity flies down toward him. He opens his snout to shout, but is immediately silenced, the wolf demon now hovering before his chest. His left arm his raised, the back of his hand facing the latex shirt of the bear. there is a sudden stillness between the two, Deity's headgear bringing an eerie expressionlessness to his hidden visage. The thief closes his eyes and falls onto his back, unconscious. It was faster than eyesight could detect, but if someone was hit in the same spot as many times as that bear demon was, they'd be knocked out as well.
Deity lands with a quiet tap of his boots to the ground, staying as silent as the grave as he looks around. His energy signature never rose above 200; or, at least, not long enough for anyone to detect. Against these lesser demons whose power just rose above 8 thousand, Deity was using ki bursts of 12 million. All four criminals are unconscious, and none of them are wearing the signature red collar sported by demons of this planet. For millions of years, Orinian demons have been troublemakers. The original, ancient demons were unstoppable, only defeated because they were sealed in another dimension. In any case, even the purest of demons is prone to violence and misbehavior. To keep track of them and hopefully keep their tempers under control, the authorities keeps tags on them with red metallic collars. If a demon is seen without one, they can be arrested or questioned. The only one immune to this law is Taliman Wesley, as he was the one who passed it. These thugs will not only be arrested for breaking and entering, destruction of property, theft, and assaulting an officer, but also because they either haven't been tagged, or took the tags off.
The tall Orinian looks over his shoulder, sensing a gradual gathering of entities moving toward the alleyway. The recurring rhythm of police sirens is also in the distance; they're probably responding to a distress call from their fellow officers. It'd be best if Deity stays away from the news, and just remains anonymous. It's bad enough that he's in the public - he's a danger to this sort of world. A few bystanders make their way between the two buildings, just in time to see the red-headed boy clad in black vanish from the alley. His destination is on a rooftop some three miles away. He falls down into a sitting position, wrapping his arms around his legs and dropping his head into his knees. He sighs softly, his mind filled with wishful thinking. That was one way to spend a minute in town.::
