Athena stretched and bleakly sat up to face the day. She'd gotten better at waking up in time as of late, but that really hadn't changed much. She always took her time to get used to things, after all. What was most noticable about Athena was that, since her Transformation* happened, her physical appearance had changed.
Her hair was still black, but there was now a streak of hair on the right side of her face that she could control the color of--and usually it was purple, red, or blue. She'd cut her hair to make the feature stand out even more as well--it was cut so that it was shorter in the back and longer in the front**. However, she also had the colored hair longer than the rest at the front, and it went nearly to her collar bone, while the rest only got to about her chin.
Athena's ears were still black, furry, and perky as ever. She had a tail, too, now, and found that tails were beautiful, but a pain in the butt. Especially when they got stuff matted in them. Her eyes were a bit more pronounced now, and her canines had elongated to rival that of a vampire's. She was really glad that she didn't have braces, because it would have been painful for days if she had. (As it was, the pain only lasted through the Transformation itself.)
Her skin had paled a bit more, and didn't seem to tan (she'd tested it). She had also found that she was much more agile now, and could jump farther and higher than ever before, as well as run faster. She loved it... though she could do without the ravenous hunger that attacked her at least three times daily.
She quickly dressed and walked out of her dorm. It wasn't quite breakfast time (woah, that early?), so she just decided to take the long way to the cafeteria.
((*...I don't even remember what I called it. That may be wrong...)) ((**I believe it's called a sofie cut? Something like that...)) ((...Also, unless you have objections, Laura, I'd like to say that Lin and Athena made up and are friends now or something.))

Ialo Enlil strolled down the hallway, heading towards the school's cafeteria. The Headmaster was currently engrossed in a thick book, written in an alternate language, a script only legible to dragons (it was little more than glorified chickenscratch really, but don't tell that to the dragons). It was pretty much a history book, but held some interesting spells, all of which Ialo intended to memorize. "It's sunny outside," he said without even looking up. In fact, he hadn't even been outside yet, or even looked out a window. "But it's going to rain this evening," he continued, to no one but himself. Or at least, no one he was aware of.
It was now March, and change was clearly moving across the campus. The grass was visible now, since the snow had melted. Change was visible in some of the students and teachers as well, including Ialo. For some odd reason, his hair insisted on darkening. The change was gradual, but Ialo wouldn't have been surprised if he woke up one day in the future with black hair. Come to think of it, dragons tended to change scale color in accordance with the seasons, so it was just natural, he supposed.

Athena smiled vaguely at her surroundings. She liked having all the time to herself that she'd found at MFHS, but... she kinda missed the chaos of her house. She'd gone home for the holidays, of course, but it wasn't quite the same. Throughout the school year, she kept expecting a hamster or a snake or a bird or something to suddenly run in front of her, eat her homework, poop on her school books, or something equally disruptive.
...It was so quiet here compared to her house.

Valrie left the room and locked the door. She had to figure this out quick as not telling how much longer the body would last with out a soul. She dashed down the hall remembering she had left the book in the nurse's office. She bit her lower lip. Memories came flooding back. How did she do that. She slowed down to a walk and sighed how could she do this by herself everything on her. "I don't know what to do!" She cried out.
Cecilia ears twitched. "There she is." She jumped out of the chair and ran for Valrie. She stopped and heard her go on about bring her mother body back. 'So that's way she runs.' She looked up. 'Even though I don't want to... I have to tell her father." She dashed off down the hall.
Jewlet bit her tounge and tied it off. The she covered it with a long sleved dress. "What a bloody pain." She curse and then exited her room.

"Hello Athena," Ialo said softly as he walked past a student in the hallway. Again, he didn't have to look up to see who the student was, or where he was going. He just knew. "It's been quiet lately, hasn't it?" That was just coincidence, he had no idea what the girl might have been thinking.
Aside from the slightly darker than normal hair, the Headmaster looked the same as always - same dark blue shirt, same black pants, same black shoes, same silver chain with a few trinkets strung on hanging around his neck.

Athena blinked, then smiled. "Yeah. It's kinda weird," she said. She almost hadn't noticed Ialo as she walked in the halls; she'd been so wrapped up in her thoughts, though now she wasn't sure what she'd been thinking of.
((lol my 100th post.))

Ialo closed his book, and held it at his side. He smiled at Athena. He had been much calmer and subdued lately, rather than nervous or stressed like he usually was. "I for one, enjoy it. I can finally read an entire book in one sitting, without silencing spells and barricading the door." Before he came to MFHS, Ialo had lived with his parents (who were often out of town or equally barricaded in their offices) his two younger (twin) brothers, and his younger sister. "Have you ever had your brother insist on communicating solely through lyrics with guitar accompaniment? I almost through him in the river."
((Congrats!))

Chris walked towards Ialo, and Athena "Sup Ialo? Having a good day? Yes? That's good." He said answering his questions to Ialo for him. He passed the two walking into the cafeteria knowing no one would be in there. "Wonder what the hell they're making today." He asked himself looking around for Danni or cook. "Yo anyone here?!" he called.

Athena laughed. "No, not quite... But they do like to do stupid things. Once they all decided to see who could go the longest without a shower. Artemis won--it went on for almost a month before my mom chased everyone and hosed them down. He happened to be the last she caught, so he won by default."

Ialo gazed after Chris for a second, before he turned back to Athena and made a revolted face at her story. "How... lovely," he said delicately. "I'm sure the house smelled delightful." He, of course, was being sarcastic. He looked towards the cafeteria. "I just hope Fredrick never lets my mother near the kitchen again."

Athena laughed. "I had to spray my room every day, and didn't come out of it unless I absolutely had to." Then, after he spoke, she said, "Why?"

Ialo smirked and rolled his eyes. "As a general rule, anything my mother tries to bake ends up looking more like, well... have you seen the alchemy teacher here clean up after class was over?" He laughed softly to himself. "Fredrick saved my mother from herself."
((Well, I'm off now. Bye!))

Your world can end in the blink of an eye. One event, one unexpected twist of fate and suddenly the world as you knew it is gone forever. All that you held dear, all that you held close, is washed away in a sea of distant memory. Life is cruel, of this I have no doubt. But life continues on...with, or without you. One can only hope that one leaves behind a lasting legacy. But so often, the legacies we leave behind...are not the ones we intended.
The Enlil child was forced to destroy his family's skyscraper, yet his militant target managed to escape. Aesop returned to New York, finding a childhood friend killed in cold blood. Kai has long since been dead; his shrine now beginning to show signs that the harsh Scandinavian weather was winning. The world was a tumultuous place, becoming more vicious with the dawning of each new day. An occultist empire arose from the Desert, calling themselves the Jhordani; they've conquered, annexed, and purchased nearly 30 countries, sprawling themselves out and posing a massive threat to all. Zephyr, the draconic adopted child of the Enlil family, vanished at about the same time that Chairman Prescott came to power in the Jhordani; he has not been heard of since. The rescue of Horus, Ra, and Set was a horrid failure...no one is really sure whether they fared any chance at surviving this long without outside intervention.
Spring was returning again to the land, a mellow and dreary cloud cover keeping their world in constant overcast. The rain poured in sheets, and oddly enough, as it did, Riser stopped hanging around the school. In his weakened state, he had not been a threat on par with what he became 5 years prior, but he was still to be held accountable for Kai's murder. All seemed to breathe easier without his eye watching them from afar.
