No one wants to know how many we have since there's quite a lot and it's getting extra annoying when people always seem to notice how many flutes there are instead of anything else. o_o;

LadyTwilyte RinoaHeartilly Heshema Hey I'm a flute, but all my fellow flute players shun me! I got to be THE picc though... until my band directer got the bright idea to make everyone of our 12 flutes piccs. scream I need a flute to tell me that there is some good in my instrument somewhere!!!! crying Some bands do that... switch all their flute players to the picc for marching band, that is. It's so you can hear the flute/picc part better. If you've ever listened to a band where there were all flutes and no piccs you'd know you can barely hear the flute part. D= Therefore, we have piccs. =3 That's what happened to mine m. band. 6 flutes and only 1 picc gonk Wow, ya'll only got 7 flutists!

What the h*** was my band director thinking the other day. He put me (the piccolo player) and Sarah (the flute player) into a practice room together to practice a song involving almost all high notes. And the practice room, none the less, was extremely small and only amplified and echoed the sound of our high notes. I had such a headache afterwards.
And we played in the rain at our last football game, surprisingly the broken piccolo seems to be doing better now... (I swear it's all a conspiracy! Piccolos breaking is all one big, grand, evil conspiracy!)

I suppose she means that her section only has 4 flute players, and if they're having a good day, 5.

I should really count how many flutes we actually have. I know how many piccolos we have. That's because I'm the only one. Although I'm sure it sounds like we sort of have three sometimes because the other two sophomores who are as good as me (they're in the top five with me) play an octave higher when they can and since we're never in tune I'm stuck playing the lower octave so I sound like a flute. I think I'll start playing my octave because we're getting better at being in tune.. I think..
As far as our section leader goes, she's all right. She could be louder and do more. Like we stand on the field for our homecoming game in like this block and then the homecoming court walks down the middle and are announced. Well, she was calling like "flute 16!" and no one responded. I was like "FLUTE SIXTEEN!!!!" and someone's like "Eh?" So, yeah.
Stupid BD things: We have this weird-o in our band arranges like five hundred pieces of music and has our BD make us play them and then he arranged this one "march" (more like backround music to a circus) for this contest and they need a live recording. So, our BD picks a certain number of instruments for each section to play it and it's like the best of each section, you know? Anyway. Well, our BD gave this guy who doesn't even have a piccolo the piccolo part when I'm the piccoloist! I play the piccolo. Not him. -_- So, he has to use my piccolo because the school's sucks.
Broken piccolo: My piccolo has only needed to be fixed once. And I don't think it anything was different except for some replaced pads. Oh, well. My piccolo is yummy ^_^
Oh, does anyone have sheet music to like the Mario Bros. or any video game music?

It's painfully loud in my section, especially since I sit front and middle, so the flutes behind me have the sound coming towards me, and the person on my left side has their sound coming at me...it's crazy. xx;; I have a friend who plays flute and sits next to me every other day (she does band and choir) and her flute playing is absolutely obnoxious...I'm afraid to tell her, but she makes my ears buzz and makes me flinch everytime she plays. More or less because she plays by ear instead of by the music.
I don't actually have video game music for flute (I do have one FF song for flute, but that's only one) so instead I go find piano sheet music for video games and play the treble cleff part on my flute. (: It works out pretty well.

That sounds fun. xD I've taken to playing this one song from the 3rd Harry Potter movie that's played by a recorder and played when Lupin and Harry were talking on that one bridge thing...I learned it by ear and I was playing it on the stands 2 days ago, but naturally, no one actually knew what it was...

Thank God there are other male flute players here. I'm so accustomed to being shunned.
