Decavolty When did slicing your skin become the norm to deal with your problems? Why the <********> is this acceptable? It is not acceptable. It is a mental illness and they have places where they put those people on suicide watch and try to help them. If somebody you know is doing that get them some help. Sorry to quote you but I feel that it needs to be said. If somebody you know is in trouble you need to help them.

I'm getting tired of people claiming all music from [insert-decade-here] is better than today's music.
Yes, for all intents and purposes, a lot of mainstream music today does kinda suck, but there's still a few mainstream artists I consider good, like Muse, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed (although to my dismay, Disturbed is becoming somewhat cookie-cutter, but still good), etc.
Personally, I think all decades had their fair share of really bad music. Remember disco from the 70's? Or all that really bland, banal Pop music from the 80's? It's just nowadays the only old stuff playing on the radio is stuff from that decade that was good, so nobody in this generation gets to hear much of the bad stuff.
Also, there's a lot of really good modern music, you just have to look in the right places. The radio is probably not the best place to look, though.
