Aeris death!
although Blank in the petrified forest (mainly the scene just after the cutscene when they are realising what happened) does come a close second

I'd say in ff9 when Bahamut kills brahne, not because she died but because how sad it made garnet.

When Aeris died in FFVII.
When Tidus left Yuna and the others in FFX.
When Yuna sang 1000 words in FFX-2(although the overall game takes away from the sadness... scream )
Squall's scene in FFVIII where he was waiting for "Sis"...kinda sad at the time...but not a "tear-jerking" scene.
How Marche's brother is in the hospital... lol
ummm....*think* *think* Not sure of any others right now...I probably forgot some sad parts....
Oh! A really sad part in Kingdom Hearts 2 is..... cry AXEL DYING!!! cry

In FFX when Tidus finds out that summoners die summoning the final aeon..right in the middle of the destruction of Rikku's home too...

motoko1 i got one........in FFX yuna and tidus kissing in the water Aww!!! I love that scene!! Its happy/sad. I have the whole scene in my profile! ;D Plus I also have it as my Siggy sweatdrop xd

xxxslash616xxx so much dying in 4 everyone seemed to die... I'm happy someone mentioned 2/4. I remember playing it on SNES I was like, 8, and I burst into tears when the twins (Polom and Poram) turned to stone. My parents were like "OMG What's wrong?" Other than that, my brother and I cried when we saw Aeris die - I really wanted Cloud and Tifa to hook up, but still, that whole scene was just depressing.

3.the thing with Vivi in ffix (i dont know how to use spoilers, so im not gonna say it but anyone whos seen it knows what i mean)
4.the part on ocarina of time when Link found out he and Saria were of two different species and could never be together(jk)
5. the part on the one game where that character died
6. when Squall dies(jk!jk!)

although Blank in the petrified forest (mainly the scene just after the cutscene when they are realising what happened) does come a close second i didnt think that was too sad, there wasnt enough time to get to know the character, so it was more like some random person died. like that one guy on ff2 that was only there for 1 level then died. (ff9 referanced that at the part where you get Ramuh)
