Everything that could go wrong was. Imminent cave in? Check. Separated from most of their team? Check. Bridge and only escape route on fire? Check. Some sort of trap? Check. The person in charge of this mission, and best equipped to salvage the situation having some sort of mental break down? Check. If only Azura had been willing to say something earlier. If only she hadn't been too shy to speak up. She had known something was wrong but had been too scared to say anything. This mission should have been aborted long before now. But, Azura didn't say anything and now all she could do is watch helplessly as the electricity dust paralyzed her muscles.
Adam seemed blessedly unaffected by the trap, though if Azura could speak she would have cautioned him against reaching into her bag until the electricity wore off. Right after exclaiming that she was glad he was alright and hadn't fallen into the lava below of course. Maybe vow to start packing a bag for him as well. Then again, if she could speak, she'd likely be screaming. So Adam reached into her bag and removed two of the three raw dust crystals she had brought without interference or comment.
Professor Anderson was the first to throw off the effects of the trap, devouring a human leg, but as her eyes settled on herself, Cecil and Adam, it was clear the Professor was no longer there. Bloodlust had taken over and they were on the menu. She gripped Crimson Regret or tried too, but she was still unable to move. She didn't think the three of them together would be able to take down the Professor, nevermind Adam on his own, but he dutifully moved in front of the pair. She had to move. Then suddenly it was as if someone hit the fast forward button. Cecil put out the fire and secured the bridge as Azura swung Crimson Regret to her shoulder and fired an ice bullet. Luckily she had taken her weapon out and loaded the ice rounds when they had first reached the lake of lava. She didn't aim for the professor though, but the wall where the cracks were rapidly spreading. "The wall is going to collapse!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, hoping the ice dust would buy them a few more seconds. "Everyone run!" Easier said than down with the Megladon bearing down on them. She hopped Charlotte or Danae had a plan better than survive the next second and then the one after that, because that was all Azura had. Survive the next moment. Azura ducked under the anchor that came flying towards them. Or rather she ducked even though it flying beside her and over Adam and Cecil. There wasn't much room to dodge here. When she looked up the Professor was already running at them. There wasn't time to switch to scythe mood. There wasn't time to aim properly either. Azura didn't even stand up as she put the rifle to her shoulder and squeezed the trigger, hoping against hope to catch the charging Professor with an ice round and temporarily stop her. Azura wouldn't get to know as a wall of ice exploded in front of her. Well, at least she found out why Adam wanted the raw crystals. In the next moment, Adam was picking her up. It was all she could do to hold onto her weapon and her bag of supplies. In the next, she was sliding across the bridge. Finally, she came to a stop on the other side. "Danea and Charlotte are on the other side!" She yelled quickly scrambling to her feet. They couldn't leave the other two alone to deal with their crazed Professor.

Ora's breathing stabilized. Her eyes were still shut, however, her breathing was harder still. She didn't wake up, but she seemed to be doing better.
Ora was bleeding on the ground. Valkyrie in front of her, her hands covered in blood. The monster would roar again. A little Ora would appear, going over to her bigger self. She'd whisper over to Ora "Let her talk. Ora would look, this had to be her childhood. It wasn't dead? Was she going crazy. "Fine, you can speak."She would spit blood out. She'd try to stand, but she was hurting. She'd lean against the wall.
"Alright you utter C***. I want to live damn it, most of us want to live, and as the only f***ing emotion that can f***ing stand up to you...Are you f***ing censoring me? I'll kick you're brains out." She'd go up and kick Ora again.
Innocents would then go between them. "She probably did it because I'm here?" Innocence would start to cough up blood. She'd turn to Ora herself. "We just want to live, and live a good, happy life. Can you do that for us pretty please?" She would sit down with Ora.
Danaë was on the ground when the current ended. She looked up, seeing the teacher eating a leg. What the hell kind of world were they in? First Eve, then the teacher? It made her sick to her stomach. Blood was drying up on her face. She was angry at what had occurred. Why did all of this stuff have to happen again? The teacher would then swing at Cecil, trying to take him out. She could see that Adam made part of the bridge was made out of ice, and it was starting to melt. She heard Azura mentioning that the wall was about to fall apart. She wasn't going to be responsible for the death of a teacher. She would stand up, feeling like she was going to go down at any moment.
She took out night kiss, and pressed it against her left pinky. She kept pressing until the digit came off. It hurt like all hell, and it was bleeding. She would then toss it towards the teacher, activating her wings, and jumping off the side of the bridge, so that when the teacher came after her she could hopefully get by without getting hurt.
Suddenly, the air would send her higher than she wanted to go in the cave. She was almost at the top of it. She would say above the bridge, bleeding onto it. Once she got to the end of the bridge, she would dive down, able to do so. It was a mess on this side, and she might have brought the cannibalistic teacher to this side as well.
Vance's gaze had moved away from Lunia for a moment as he moved his attention to the other side of the light wall. The man with the patch over his eye had called out for help, but he couldn't do anything with the hard light wall. After the smoke and the dust blast cleared, the boy got to witness the power of what a student could do, with him being amazed by the power of their hammer. He want to help to, but he also needed to protect Ora while she was unconscious and need to make sure she was alright. With the new ice wall appearing, Vance attenton went to an odd figure moving else where in the room, with the count now being two enemies to guard against. The man with the eye patch could handle one, which meant he would have to deal with the other figure for him to defend against. The boy would keep his guard up until he saw the light wall begin to shatter, and opened the room to the two of them. With the room broken, his focus was on anyone who tried to come and harm the unconscious woman. Vance's would react immediately to the sound of the loud ting until he saw a red glowing object fly towards the ice wall.
He didn't have to think as he crouched down to protect Ora from whatever was, going to his knees to shield the woman. The boy could feel the explosion behind him as the ice pelted down on his back and shiver went down his spine. Today just wasn't his day was the thought he had as he took a moment to catch his breath and try and calm himself. Vance couldn't figure out what was going on as today had just went to hell, but he was going to follow the orders of his team leader, He would then straighten himself out as he looked to down to the woman that he was told to protect and oddly smiled.. "Don't worry Ora... I promise I will keep you safe." The boy said as he noticed that she had calmed a bit as he started to stand up once again and started to pull her to where the entrance ice wall still was. It was something that gave them some protection from the person that was attacking them, and it let him focus on one side. Once he moved her to lean against the metal wall of the structure, David returned to sentry mode, keeping an eye out in case he needed to fight. He could only hope that Ora would wake up soon and that they both could join back into the fight.

Narx was impressed with the quick thinking of the villainous duo; the boy and his robot companion. An ice barrier erupted from thin air to protect them. How they managed it so fast he did not know, Normally it wouldn't be enough, but the droid enhanced the ice wall to become abnormally thick.
The blast would be absorbed from the head-on direction, but the edges were wiped clean off and smashed into the walls behind them. Narx's eyes went wide as he realized his mistake. "Damn it..." This was a contained battlefield where the force had nowhere to go. The force twisted in the room like a tornado. Full of ice shards and crystals. A hailstorm of sorts. The ice would shred through Narx's clothes and slice his skin in several places as it likely was doing to Ghost as well.
Narx was regretting using that move so early. It was too strong for such a tiny area, why was he such a blockhead?"Time for you guys to be-" He stopped mid sentence as he realized the hailstorm gave the pair just enough cover to make their way towards the exit. His eye would flicker over to the hardlight wall, seeing the robot already there. "Don't you run away from me now!"He shouted, as he began to rush towards the robot, not paying any attention to where the boy was. He was tunnel visioned on preventing the exit."Take this!" Narx would yell as he spun his hammer on the robot, but his left hand would reach out and grab his sword. Unsheathing it he would use the weight of the hammer to spin him around and then go for a stab with his blade.

Into ƚhҽ Đαɾƙnҽss
Arc 1
▨✥▨
『Into ƚhҽ Đαɾƙnҽss – Phase Two: B』
▨✥▨
[Scene: The interior of a volcano, cylindrical cavern, along one edge is a series of uneven cliffs by which metal scaffolding has been erected to form a series of small bridges. It looks very makeshift, some edges with railing, and others without. At the end a large and advanced looking metal door with a vault-like appearance stands connected to the wall.
The vault-like door is extremely thick and durable. It has definitely been here longer than the bridges that lead up to it. Two dead bodies, female students, lie just before it. The cliff edge before the door is a decent sized rocky platform that extends 40 feet out and 60 feet wide roughly. Giving plenty of space.
Dark fumes waft up from the bubbling lava below. The air is caustic and anyone not wearing a gas mask will suffer from dizziness, and pass out within a matter of a few posts and die within 12.]
Chaos ensues in the volcanic cavern. The sounds of combat: shouts, and clattering of weapons echoed non-stop. The earthen wall seemed to groan with pressure as the cracks started to increase in size. Stones started to topple from up above the bridge area
The metal door to the lab began to creak as the ground started to shake. An earthquake was starting. Everyone standing would feel the ground move violently beneath their feet, threatening to knock them over. The roiling lava started to toss and turn with small waves of molten death.
On the bridge wall, Azura had shot it with an ice dust augmented bullet that has successfully froze a large section, temporarily stabilizing the wall for those making their way towards the lab, which certainly was the most secure place to be due to its large metal walls and vault-like door. But the wall, just above where Azura had frozen it, erupted in an explosion of stone as a familiar stinger protruded from it. A deathstalker stinger. The sharp point of it slammed down into the ground once. Shattering the ground and causing another small explosion of earth and stone in all directions. Barely missing Cecil. A furious roar could be heard from behind the wall, which apparently was thin enough for a large grimm to break through.
Ravagers flooded through the new hole that the deathstalker had made. Hundreds, if not thousands pouring through. They seemed agitated by the heat and light of the volcanic cavern which made them fly chaotically. Smashing into the walls and students alike. Many of them falling to their deaths shortly after, but there was far too many to wipe out. They started slashing and grabbing onto all of those not in the lab with a vengeance. Their sharp claws shredding through clothes and skin like razor blades.
[Roll 1d5 for every post not inside the vault door, this is how many ravager claws slice you. Your post count will be reduced by this number for the duration of the quest, or until healed by someone with a healing skill, talent, or semblance]
The Deathstalker was struggling to break out of the wall due to Azura's quick thinking, but its stinger continuously thrusted down onto the bridge in blind rage. The right pincher of the deathstalker blasted through the wall on the side and with a single smooth move, and sheer luck, captured Azura in it's claws. It was unable to crush her due to rubble also caught in its pincher, but the rubble was quickly crumbling under the pressure.
[Save Azura before she is crushed]
Azura would feel a few of the sharp serrations of the deathstalker's pinchers pierce into her side as the ravagers swarmed the area further. Fortunately the chaos of the deathstalker seemed to drive the ravagers further out. The only positive in this situation.
Those inside the lab would first hear the thunderous screeching and flapping of wings, and then suddenly a throng of ravagers would flood in. Crashing against the walls with loud shrieks before descending on the students. Ora, Vance, Narx, would all be attacked simultaneously. The grimm scratching with their claws at every exposed inch. [Roll 1d10, this is how many ravagers are swarming you. You can only kill 3 per post, and if you have 3 or more on you they prevent you from moving]
- - - - Lunia looked up at beast whilst he stared at her, she gulped what felt like the largest tennis ball in her life from nerves. Standing her ground however, the gas mask she wore would mark most of the signs of nerves on her face, however rigid her body stayed. Her eyes winced as he cut himself, the freak was starting to bother her slightly with all of the blood, and as he wrote the word on her barrier once again she watched as it ran down quickly. Lunia turned her attention back to him as he disappeared into the shroud of darkness, revealing his face ever so slightly, she would remember it.
Things went silent for what felt like an eternity, Lunia thought about chasing him down with her light but then she would leave the students behind her in danger, and she wouldn't have that, not Vance. Just as she wondered if he was gone, she heard the loud 'ting' of something and instantly looked in the direction, "BRACE! she yelled, hopefully those behind her would hear her quick enough. Lunia moved her barrier to connect to the ice wall to the right as quick as she could, as the huge explosion went off. Her body could be seen shuddering as she held the barrier up for the majority of the blast, however the shockwave from after it took the barrier down and blew Lunia back a few yards with it, her aura shield flashing as she landed on her side.
She had managed to protect the portion of the wall with the students in it, which she was extremely relieved to hear, however, a new hole had been created and with that more danger to everyone. Lunia was breathing heavily, as she forced herself up to standing she could be heard struggling slightly. Moving back to the part of the wall she was protecting, she was soon stopped by the sounds of what could only be Grimm.. and not a small number. Her vision was impaired by the darkness, but she could see the hole she was protecting as she moved back to it as quick as she could. However, as she was getting there, what looked like hundreds of Grimm were frantically racing towards, around and away from their position. Lunia was confused, but she grabbed her weapons and held them tightly, "They aren't coming for us.. they're running?" she said to herself, as finally one of them came out of the darkness and straight at her, just as confused as her. Lunia leapt out of the way, however the beasts claw caught her shoulder and left her with a cut, which she found more concerning due to the fact that the man hidden in the darkness most likely wanted blood.
Lunia looked at the Grimm, who was now coming straight for her, she managed to roll out of the way of it's claws and with an upright stab from one of her glaives, the beast disappeared into dust. They must have already been weakened in their frenzy, however Lunia was once again watching as hundreds of them surrounded the area, most likely into the ice wall also. "N-no!" she yelled, racing for the hole to protect Vance. Lunia noticed a ravager climbing in, and as her eyes saw pure rage a bright white light appeared at her left hand, it would be blinding to look at. "Vance!" she yelled, as she launched it at the Grimm, luckily enough, it made contact and once again disintegrated into dust.
She wouldn't hesitate with the next steps, as she ran for the hole and began battering as many Grimm as she could that would go near it. Some had potentially made it in, but she believed in Vance, and she was confident there would be others to help. "Vance is in there alone... Ora is useless passed out.. what do I do? I can't just lead the beast coming for me in.." she thought, as she continued to battle them. The darkness was making it hard to see them coming, and her energy was being used dancing between Grimm to protect her friends. The blood on her shoulder dripped onto the ground as she fought, unbeknown to her.

It had been a small price to pay to block the full on attack, and he was too focused on taking care of his opponent to focus on such things for now. Mostly because if he let his guard drop he could suffer much more from a damaged outfit and light cuts. Still, it did have one effect on his mind as he moved to hunt his prey. It brought a smile to his lips. 'It has been a while since someone has made me bleed.' He thought to himself, smile not fading as he felt a familiar thrill of blood lust. Which could prove to be a good or bad thing for the student in the time to come. Ghost would await patiently in the smoke, senses alert for any sign of life around him. The first he noticed, understandably, was that of his robot partner as he got to the door. It was their goal to get out after all, so it was the best bet to watch from. It also covered his back from attack, even if he was a little bit away from the door. 'If one-eyed willy isn't fast enough, I may miss out on all the fun.' He thought to himself in slight disappointment. The guy had such a promising opening and start with his display of strength and weaponry that for it to end from him taking himself out would be a waste, in Ghost's mind at least. Then, Ghost's ear would p***k up as he heard the guy speaking. 'Is he really dumb enough to give himself away that easily?' He thought to himself as the student...really was from his actions.
He would loudly yell not to run away, and begin running to them. Ghost merely smiled as he waited still in the obscured room, his prey running headlong and blindly in the direction of his hunter. But Ghost was not blind. He had noticed the robot straining against the wall, could hear it beginning to break. His accomplice would be in a vulnerable state immediately after, or so he would imagine, so the hammer wielding student may have accidentally chosen the perfect time to make his attack. As his prey ran past, Ghost would make his move quickly after. The sound of a barrier shattering, and hopefully the students own footsteps, would potentially obscure Ghost's movements ever more. He had many options to do, but as he saw the man begin to swing his hammer he had little time and would need to choose one. So his mind raced through the options to see which was right, and he would act accordingly. 'I can go for a choke hold by jumping onto his back, but he is fairly strong. I could use my grapple line to trip him, but I may need it later for escape. I could go for a simple sword strike, but do I disrupt his attack or go for something vital.' He thought to himself, and the final option seemed the best for him. Further, it was the more potentially bloody or violent option. While Ghost was not set to kill any students, this one seemed capable enough to survive a few blows. Which decided his action to disable him a bit. Ghost would make his move as he drew the green sword, taken from the student he was posing as. He was about to strike the hammer arm when he noticed the man grab his sword with his left hand as he swung. 'Switch.' Ghost thought to himself quickly, not entirely sure what the man was doing but knowing he planned something with the sword. He didn't think this guy was capable of a feint, maybe more likely a follow up attack, but Ghost intended to disrupt his plans.
As Narx made a motion to unsheathe his sword, Ghost would strike at the sword arm in question with the green blade. He did so by taking a single step forward, striking, then quickly pushing back with the foot he had stepped forward with to try and avoid counter attack. He knew not whether it would work, but his plan was that the sudden blow there may weaken the mans grip or distract him from doing whatever it was he was about to do, as he put his full force into that strike. Had he a better weapon for it, he may have tried to disarm the man but currently the angle of it was not worth the risk. Still, there was no time for a breath as he noticed the mans hammer was being spun for momentum. While his earlier actions may have been enough, he quickly dodged back just in case so he wouldn't be caught by an inadvertent swing. However as he did he would feel the ground being to quake and could vaguely hear the lab door creak. 'This volcano better not blow while we are still here.' He thought to himself with some annoyance, before hearing a distance crash and then...thunderous screeching along with the flapping of wings. 'Too many for nevermore, not a lancer sound...ravagers.' He thought to himself before seeing them burst through the opening.
Ghost quickly took a step back from the initial flood of them, only adding to the chaos and making it hard to find individual people here. It was enough of a distraction to draw him out of his blood lust as he realized it could be a good escape chance. While part of him felt like alerting the droid to his plan, speaking would only endanger him further. He hoped the droid could hold its own, and understand his next action would mean they should escape. He would quickly glance into the room, seeing a few students with one laying on the ground amidst the swarming ravagers. And, most importantly, he noticed one of the students was the blue haired one. A thought crossed his mind but for now he pushed it away. His left hand grabbed one of his smoke bombs, and quickly tossed it into the room with more than a few occupants (decontamination room with vance, ora, etc). To cause even more chaos there and to obscure vision ever further as once it hit the ground or made contact with anything, it would unleash a 20 foot diameter of smoke. His new plan was to take this chance to escape now that they had a way out, or so he thought at least. Assuming Narx did not go to engage him, he would be readying to run through. And planning to do something as he would think to escape the students. ☽☾☽☾ Post count: 50? ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ OOC: Quell the intruder. If the robot was capable of smiling, it would surely be pleased with the sign of Charlotte's reluctant cooperation. What a curious tail, twisting and contorting as a way to express emotion, to express thought process. Holding so many curious mannerisms, the machine would make a note to proceed with this action further in the future. For now, though, the damaged visor looked upon the bitter girl and the venom spitting stinger expectantly. It showed no fear, not that a machine could. It would either work or fail. There were plenty of fail safe's in place if something went wrong. There it stood, watching, listening to the quiet chitter the scorpion girl sounded as if she was ready to strike. Only, she wouldn't. Amused by the display, the Knight's gaze would follow the girl as she readied herself in a position to move forward. It was clear in her eye that she was focused on the shark faunus who kept the attention of so many others, bringing a static sigh from the machine. "Play if you must, dear Charlotte, but be ready. Our time to act is almost at hand." The machine tacked on to the girl's thought process, whatever it meant. It was unsettling how the machine could approach everything so calmly. First setting off the teacher into a blood-lusting frenzy, its own compatriot fighting within the lab. Explosions and screaming sounding back and forth as the cavern fell to utter chaos. One avian faunus took an interesting initiative, drawing her own blood and damaging herself in order to try and divert Rachel's attention. .. In reality, the attempt appeared foolish. What exactly was Danae hoping to do, draw the beast off the bridge? Even in such a state, Rachel was still a professor at her core, and a killer. She would adapt and overcome, especially if it made certain she would eat tonight. 'Scorpion is ready to strike. Megalodon is hunting. Valian on standby, awaiting pending escape route.' Words would static between the machines and into the ears of their allies if they continued to wear their designated earpieces. If not, well, then they were on their own. At the very least the robots had an established method of communication.
If it wasn't chaotic enough, though, the entities of chaos themselves would make their debut. Something Valian had been anticipating, but still, find it quite a display as the wall ruptured. It was the presence of a large, eerie glowing stinger that radiated in the molten light. It emerged in a display of power, sending shattered bits of stone in all directions as it came down and nearly impaled one of the students. Nearly, however, making it all the more disappointing. "It appears Ice King gets to live another day." The machine spoke to itself, though its attention was pulled away by the hundreds of ravagers that began pooling in from the depths of the caverns around them. Honestly, the machine found it rather surprising that it took so long for the grimm to make their entrance. Surely they had all caused enough of a ruckus, both at the start of it all and every step until now. Perhaps a blessing and a curse, knowing that they likely wouldn't have been able to enter the lab if the grimm had warned of the students before this moment. What was more particular, however, was the hive mind aspects that the ravagers had. Flocking in hundreds of directions, shrilling from the bright light and intense heat as the batted themselves against the bridge, wall, and students alike before plummeting to their own demise. Perhaps it was because of its own clarity, or the fact that it was a machine, that the grimm ignored the machine entirely. Ravagers pooling in every direction, yet avoided the machine itself like a shark in shallow waters. ... Speaking of sharks, its own shark wasn't so fortunate. A number of ravagers began to swarm Rachel's distressed self as she fought against the obstacles team dark presented against her, including Danae's distractions. Now with Charlotte in pursuit, it was only a matter of time before even the fearsome megalodon was overwhelmed. ... That was, of course, unless the machine on standby happened to interfere. Readying its rifle once again, the machine would take aim in order to gun down two of the four ravagers that were swarming Rachel, reducing them to nothing but dust before they could even strike the woman. The others, though, that was on her end. Lowing its rifle once again, it would page its other half as well as the other associates if they could listen. 'Preparing for extraction. Be wary, the grimm have arrived. Among the ravagers, a large deathstalker has made the scene. Make the best of it.'

XXXRachel was already moving in for the kill. The boy of ice, Cecil, just didn't respond in time. As swift as a great white barreling towards its prey in its final moments, it was going to end in an instant. Was, being the keyword. Eyes flashed red as time itself seemed to slow down, the shark on an unhindered path towards devastation. Around it, however, there was much more going on. A warm chain lined with razor-sharp teeth danced between her fingertips as she closed the distance, barreling closer and closer just in time to catch gunfire. Crimson hues widened as the sound of the frosted bullet leaving the chamber clamored. Vibrant red aura would static across her skin, but even that was only able to do so much at such close range. Rather than a sharp burning sensation, her skin instead was kissed by frost as the bullet ruptured against her aura on her right shoulder. It would explode in a veil of frost, ice crystallizing to coat her shoulder, chest, and left arm in its entirety. Ice had even threatened to crawl up her neck, an intricate crosshatch of frost weaving across engorged veins. It was at that same instance that a wall of ice erupted between her and the students, letting her frozen fist slam against the wall of ice and cracking her own icicle prison. The woman would reel back, letting some crazed groan of distress and hunger resonate from her throat. "Ice... hunger... cold... frozen... eat... crack... break... blood... warmth... heat... meat... fire... burn... get out... burn... GET OUT OF THE WAY!" The woman would shrill, screaming like a banshee as she violently reached for her right side. Black fingertips would shred through layers of black fabric, pulling a vibrantly glowing red crystal. Without hesitation, she'd stab the tip of the crystal into her left shoulder. Ice would crack and melt at the presence of the crystal. The instant it was plunged beneath her skin, the ice would erupt in a spiderweb of cracks, burning aura seeping through. As the heat continued to build steam would begin pouring through the cracks. Reeling her left arm back, Rachel would curl her fingers into a fist before lunging forward, slamming her glowing fist into the wall of ice. At the point of contact, the ice coating her arm would explode, sending shards of melting ice in all directions as flames erupted from her person. Not just her shoulder, but her chest and arm were all emitting an intense heat and appeared to smolder. At contact with the wall, however, flames would erupt in a powerful burst. This gave her the additional strength to tear down the obstacle once and for all, giving the students much less time than they anticipated to distance themselves.
The goliath would topple forward with her blazing arm, her gaze completely deranged. It was as if she didn't care, as if she couldn't feel her skin smoldering beneath the flames. In fact, the only thing that kept the teacher from shattering the bridge beneath her infernal might was the new scent of blood that she caught a whiff of. Rachel turned her head, just barely catching a glimpse of the pinky as it trailed across her face. Without hesitation the metal mask would snap open, revealing her mighty jaw with rows of teeth snapping down on the severed pinky. She wouldn't even chew, gulping the insignificant amount of meat down in a single swallow. It tasted like bird. .. No, more particular, it tasted like an owl. 'Feathers.' .. Who was feathers? Why did that name stick out so prominently in her mind? In the midst of her internal, black sea, she'd catch glimpses of recent memory. Of a group of students working hand in hand to take down a winged lion. One, in particular, was a mess of feathers, being launched into the air by a one-eyed student with a hammer. The smell of smoldering feathers as a distinct reminder, the odd sensation of feeling... Proud. The smell of feathers burning, the taste of owl blood and the constant reminder of a winged faunus soaring the cave. Feathers... Feathers... FEATHERS. The woman would scowl loudly, turning into a tremendous growl as she looked towards where the scent of owl followed. The faunus had leaped off the bridge, thinking she could truly escape so easily. Even in the midst of chaos, Rachel had been reprogrammed. She needed to find feathers, she needed to taste feathers. Walls had come crashing down, a deathstalker was wreaking havoc upon team DARK just further ahead. With it, however, came a massive swarm of hundreds of sporadic ravagers. Flying without direction, latching onto anything that kept them from succumbing to the heat and falling into the pit below. The bridge trembled amidst the chaos, and Rachel herself had been targetted. A small group of ravagers started flying around her, clawing savagely at her, managing to violently tear into her back. The woman was seething with hatred, causing her aura to fluctuate and in turn, the red dust embedded in her shoulder. She'd swat what firepower she had left at the flying demons, leaving a trail of flames that ignited the poor creatures and left two of them to fall into the abyss below. The other two, however, were more relentless. Even as they burned, they were persistent in holding the teacher back with their teeth and claws. .. That was until a series of bullets whizzed through the air, turning the ravagers into nothing but smoldering remains of dust in the wind. The ravagers crumbled around her, giving Rachel her opening that she needed to move forward.
With the strength left in her left arm, and her fully functional right arm, she'd jerk the chain of the anchor tightly. Lodged into the ice bridge itself, it would act as the very anchor she needed to move forward... Momentum. With her right arm, she tore at her side to grab another crystal. This one, a vivid purple. With her scorched arm, she'd weave the chain tightly around her hand and leap off the bridge. It would jolt, cracking beneath the new weight and chaos. Using the pull of gravity to her advantage, the chain would carry her under before launching her upwards on the other side before dislodging from the bridge. This left the ice bridge to crumble with a network of cracks, melting from the intense heat. Rachel was left to be carried upwards by momentum, but it would only take her so far. She had to act, or risk falling into the fiery depths. ... That's where the purple crystal came into play. Squeezing it tightly, the crystal would shatter in her hand, engulfing her in a veil of purple energy as she entered a state of weightlessness. This sent the woman flying into the air with her jaws wide open, like a great white leaping out of the sandy shores at her prey. This would've left her in a direct path towards feathers if it wasn't for the stinger of the Deathstalker getting in her way. Narrowly avoiding the venom dripping tip, the goliath would find herself caught on a segment of the tail that connected it to the creature. This left her furious. "Damned ... BUG... GETTING IN MY WAY. I'LL KILL YOU. I'LL EAT YOU." The woman shrieked, sounding more like the deranged professor they knew than the mentally broken vessel she had become. In reality, it was a mix. Rachel, in her own little world, was walking a thin line. What pushed her forward was her insatiable hunger. It was all these obstacles that kept interfering though, that kept reaching into her. Trying to remind her, trying to free her, and honestly it was just REALLY pissing her off. The goliath would straddle the segment of the tail, her eyes burning with intense hatred as she cupped her burning hand around the connecting segment of the stinger and the tail. Holding on tight, she'd jerk her anchor towards her before guiding its momentum downwards in a whip-like strike. This strike was aimed for the head but followed a path of momentum to cleave against the pincher that held onto Azura. Once this insect was out of her way, she'd continue on her path of destruction... After all, the most recent taste in her mouth was that of an owl faunus.
Cecil watched and waited, aiming to be the vanguard as his aura came up, along with his chilling aura. It had little effect in cooling the temperature but he could now use his weakened weapons. But just as Rachel was making her attempt at him with her weapon, he felt as if time was slowing still. Someone had rammed him down, it was Adam who he lost sight of for a moment, and he was knocked down, watching the anchor soar past them towards the bridge. He could hear them hooking behind them at their edge before he looked to see the chain tighten as he reflexively acted. He kipped up, having recovered from the lightning fully now as he looked to see the teacher charging. In the next moment, a wall of Ice formed up before him and Adam grabbed his and Azura's arms. As he began to pull, Cecil was pushed by Adam, being sent across the bridge towards the Anchor. Cecil looked to Azura and brought a hand out to her, but then suddenly the wall exploded with debris going everywhere. Cecil's aura helped to protect him but he saw the claw and stinger coming out. When he saw what happened, he clenched his teeth. He turned to see the Anchor coming, still sliding across before he through his right hand out. "I'm coming Azura!"
At the strongest point of contact, he knew his weapon could survive at least one hold so he believed in his semblance. He summoned up a frozen Scythe and hooked around the Anchor of his teacher, kicking his left leg towards his right as he used the momentum to slide around the anchor, just managing to glide over the missing ground thanks to the speed he was flung by Adam. He released his scythe at the perfect moment to slide back towards them, skating along the ice bridge as Ravager's flew out, clawing at Cecil as he held his arms up to avoid serious damage from their attacks. Just as he reached the halfway point of return, he saw the Ice Wall become nothing more than steam and melted ice with their teacher punching it. He blinked and focused before he looked to the stalker, but then time slowed once more. He could see the teacher move and drop off the bridge, and in a matter of moments, he could hear the ice fracturing. His brows furrowed before he jumped off, drawing his Reiterpallasch before he soon summoned an ōdachi around his weapon. He held the blade's hilt to his chest as he swung from north east to south west from where he was facing, aiming to slash into the claw at the same time the anchor would come crashing down. His hang time in the air would only lead him towards the dry land the Teacher was once on as he would hope he had enough time to reach and get Azura.

It appeared that this one-eyed student didn't understand the meaning of a sneak attack. Despite creating the perfect opening himself to both conceal undercover and attempt to ambush them, he instead threw it all away in a fit of emotions. Shards of ice would clatter against his metal plating, each bursting into a cloud of frost and splintered fragments whisked away in the whirlwind of dust. As a machine, it wasn't in any danger in that regard. No, it was those ice splinters that would act as razors against far more sensitive skin present. 'I do say, I hope he doesn't fall to pieces in all this. I quite like him.' The machine had other priorities, but whatever AI had been part of the equation was thinking of far more than this original plan. At least two steps ahead in the future, anticipating the next course of action when they escaped this hell hole; when they met again. At this very moment, however, he was tasked with creating an opening. After all, this hardlight dust was true Atlas quality, and very well needed Atlesian tech to get rid of it. Robotic digits continued to curl against the harden light, causing a spiderweb of cracks to stretch along its surface like a strained pane of glass. In fact, the machine found it quite troublesome to breakdown this final blockade, realising the dust it used may have been too potent. This must've been the same quality they used, though in larger quantities, to keep those kaiju like leviathan grimm at bay. At least, once upon a time. To think it kept it locked away in a bunker all this time; such a waste.
The machine was very well aware of Narx's approach, it was hard not to be. The boy was as loud as he was headstrong, which never led to a good combination. The ground began to tremble as a harmonious choir of screams and shrieks began resonating through the cavern, so loudly that it even pierced the walls of the lab. That meant only one thing, they were out of time and needed to make their escape this very instance. 'Just a little more... Come on, I know you were a refurbished model, but even that prototype could get past this.' The AI within the machine was growing frustrated, all the while the world outside the lab seemed to be falling apart. Fortune favored the bold, as they say, a swarm of ravagers managed to flock their way past the other blockades, launching themselves at all students present. A pair of stray ravagers even found themselves slamming their entire mass against the barrier, giving the machine just enough push for the wall to shatter, freeing it up just in time. Joints were stiffened, limiters nearly maxed for just a moment, but capacity to function still online. Utilizing the swarming ravagers that plunged their way into the lab as a distraction, the machine would turn on its heel before lurching towards the young huntsman. With Ghost aiding him, preventing him from being taken by surprise while he dismantled the barrier, he was ready to cover his tracks and return the favor. Just as he had done to reinforce the ice blockade, segments in his right palm would open as a vibrant green light illuminated. A few words hummed in its memory, words it caught only as a distant whisper, but amusing nonetheless. "And some doors are meant to be blown wide open, Narx." The machine knew its name, whether it was from them all yelling back and forth, or the information it obtained for the mission. It knew his name, just as it knew the rest of them. The dust was ready at the end of its sentence, releasing a concentrated and powerful burst of wind from its palm. The force was explosive at point-blank range, but not nearly as much as Narx's own initial shockwave. It was meant to propel his unanchored self back, though the initial burst created a vacuum-like effect towards him, ripping the ravagers right out of the air and drawing them towards him. So whether the boy was braced to take the hit or not, it would draw the grimm right to him. With that, it was time to take their leave.
Ghost had already taken the initiative, tossing another smoke bomb forward into the decontamination room where the remainder of students were. This caused a dark cloud to envelop them all, giving both the dastardly villains the opportunity to pass them. Ghost was already on the move, leaving the machine on its own. .. Which, that was fine. In retrospect, the machines were the most disposable assets to the task at hand. That, and they were all very capable on their own. If they couldn't manage themselves in the midst of chaos, then the puppet master would have no use continuing to operate with them in the future. For the machine to escape, it needed additional mobility. Something that his companion had that it did not, the dexterity of a man trained in the art of stealth. So, it would have to improvise. With its palm shut once again, a panel upon its forearm would open to reveal another vibrant colored crystal. This one, a plum purple, similar to what Ghost had used to get the edge on Narx prior. The crystal would spark, causing a plum-colored veil to encompass the machine's presence. With the panel clamping shut, the machine would make its move. While its body had gotten lighter, that wasn't the purpose of this overexertion of dust. Instead, the machine would jump up to grab the doorframe, hoisting itself upwards and flipping its legs forwards and upwards. This let the machine's feet touch down on the doorframe, where its altered gravity would take hold. From there, the machine would leap like a jumping spider towards the next wall, anchoring itself with vertical gravity once again, and one last time as they encroached on the exit. It was keeping itself vigilant in the presence of ravagers that trickled in, though appeared to have no interest in the machine. Perhaps it was under the veil of darkness, or because it wasn't human, just like themselves. If the machine went by undetected or unpursued, it mills over ideas of the next step out. By now, it had hoped Rachel or its other half would've made it to the vault, but that wasn't the case with the dust. That, and the machine used much more of its own dust supply than it had anticipated to. From this moment on, caution was advised, though that very concept thrilled the AI. After all, its AI was themed after its own master, and it very much enjoyed the thrills this game was providing.
'One, two, Becky's coming for you. Three, four, your luck is so poor. Five, six, we sail the river styx. Seven, eight, the vultures haven't ate. Nine, ten, you'll never see again.'
Akuryo watched as his raw dust crystal connected and erupted in an explosion, caving the metallic wall that was chilled from the ice into a new entrance hole. He could see them squirming inside, watching as they were getting desperate as he slowly started to walk. He saw the large amount of ravagers that filled the antechamber inside as he took his eyes off of it to catch a glimpse of a female avian who landed close to his darkness. He was tempted to take her down, especially since he saw she was missing a finger but... He bided his time and moved on quickly towards the hole. By the time he got there, the sound of the ravagers screeching, clawing at everything and their wingbeats caused him to grin under his mask. His darkness vanished before it could reach the group inside as he stepped in, untouched nor hindered by the ravagers yet he could see two true targets.
Yet one of them moved back to the previous hole as his darkness slowly dissipated to reveal more Grimm charging in. He was surrounded by hundreds of ravagers that flooded through the hole around him, ignoring him as of he was just another Grimm as he began to cough. It was thankfully disguised by the screeching of the ravagers and their claws hitting everywhich way as he made his move. Still coughing on the way, he switched from his dagger into a violet edge Bowie knife. He poised it into a back-handed hold as he moved swiftly, his body mostly blurred by the ravagers covering him but as he got close, the room filled with smoke! Thankfully, he knew the location of the blue-haired light woman as he was now covered and with bloodlust in mind, he lashed out and aimed to try and stab at the back of her shin with the gravity dust covered blade, aiming to damage her leg beyond use for the time being and to make her light enough for a follow up. His follow up would be a trade incase she threw an attack, with his aura up as he would grab her and attempt to throw her back towards her allies in the smoke cloud.
He had to move quick as his ears picked up the very light footsteps thanks to his assassin training and he knew whose they were. Should he succeed or fail in his attack, his plan next was of course to follow the sounds and escape.

Why wasn’t her teammate waking up? What has happen to Ora? A few question that ran through her mind. Though those thoughts quickly vanished as Grimm had arrived. Lena blaming their attacker for that problem they now face. Seeing the smaller Grimm fly towards her Lena would go to the attack. Blasting one she'd leap aside to avoid three others. The three circling back around she'd blast two, turning them to dust. Only one remained on the insects tail, this one being a bit more unpredictable. Her blasts missing she'd begin to run, trying to draw it away from Ora. "Bad day, bad day, bad day!"
Charlotte didn't seem to react for a moment to the grim. Heck they even seemed to go around her favouring a little more in as she showed no signs of any fear whatsoever. An anchor in a hord. Or was it something else. She didn't seem to care about any of those for now though. A flicker of purple appearing around her as her semblance started back up. One of the grim finally notices her presence Only to get her dual stingers in the throat and vanish into smoke.
Her feet moved as she started running towards the bridge. One of the grim being just there as she launched herself into the air. Slamming down with her umbrella and … missing the grim. The sharp point of the umbrella smalling into the ice as her semblance Sent all the energy she had gathered from the run into it. Her free hand moving and firing the pistol into the grim there however. As she just seemed to.. Lose it. Attacking or tryign to everything that was near her.
