Yolanda Hydrus

"Hello!" Yolanda beamed to the Peter Quill costumed man cheerfully, noidding her head.

"I'd like that. I'm Tolanda Hydrus. And you?"

One faux-armored hand extended to Reynard gently, and her smile stretched... Right up until the lights went out and there was shattering glass. Almost instantly, she grabbed his arm in a start.

Bad things happened a lot in Destiny City, and Yolie didn't want to be killed -- or trampled, so she tried tugging Reynard towards the door. Really, he'd seemed so kind to offer company, and he had good taste in costumes! Still, however, she was afraid, and halfg buried her face in his arm. Sure, she could try making room with her costume -- it was surdy and she had an obvious fake sword that could bruise at worst if she struck, but... She didn't want to hurt anyone!

"Oh... Oh s**t... You... You'll protect me, right? We'll escape, right?"

Daniel Alvarez-Garcia

"Huh?" Daniel looked back to Owen and Bailey even as he made for the tables, hands gathering candy and pocketing it. They were grownups, they'd buy more.. Right?

"I don't really think I can fight with him, he'd tell Mama."

And that wasn't promising at all. The boy began to walk back, huffing in indignance at the fact hos brother was a fink...

And the lights cut, and glass shattered. And Daniel promptly moved to poush Owen and Bailey for the door.

"Go! I think something bad is coming! Run! Ru--"

One too many elbows, so many feet, and Daniel was knocked down with a shriek of 'BURROS!', the boy whining pathewtically as he tried gettingupo. People in a herd were, well, panicking people, though, and he winced as people tripped on him or accidently kicked trying to go awound as he get up -- and nearly cried at the indignity, ignoring his oncoming brotyher who, for now, was at least bodily shielding him.

Allison Abson

"Well, yeah." Ally notd. "But I didn't think you'd be happy alone at night at school. And Mom and Tor are makin' us cocoa and stuff after this, so we can have our own Halloween party together!" Not a lie -- Ally employed Sad Eyes, and was pleased it was overkill. Now, she cuddled her friend a bit, and motioned.

"I like rain though, normally. But it does--"

The cutting of lights made Ally pause, a disgruntled noise coming from her before she sighed, turning to get a flashlight... and then something big and hairy bumped her, and Ally decided the exit was a good thing, moving bodily to try sheltering Cara.

"Oh son of a b***h, is weird-a** s**t like this becoming common this season or someshit-- watch the elbows or I'm taking your teeth a*****e!" Ally grumbled, breaking intop an angry snarl at a few particularly panicked and random teen boys when they elbowed, and she hissed.

"Guess we're getting tyhat cocoa sooner, than later. Son of a b***h."

Reynard Abney - 6

"Reynard Abney, at your service," he said, and had half-ducked into what he'd hoped was a charming bow when the lights went out and the blue-eyed girl latched onto his arm in fright. He couldn't power here, not now - sure, it was dark, but with a lady attached to his arm there was absolutely no way he could risk it. Even if, with what sounded like something coming in, he'd dearly like to be Parthenon now. He may only have a stick for a 'weapon', but a short little stick was still better than nothing.

Ah well, you made do when you had to.

And what sort of Guardian of the Galaxy would he be if he left a lady to danger?

"Of course I won't," he said, tugging Yolanda toward the exit with him, elbowing people out of his way as he went - and taking more than a few elbows and shoves himself. "Ow, damnit, people, panic's just going to get someone killed. knock it off!"

Owen Courcel - 1

When the lights went out, Owen did not let out a terrified yelp that was more of a squeak. He certainly didn't grab for Bailey and Daniel to try and hide in them from the dark and the monsters in the dark. ... Or at least that was what he would insist upon later. Right now he was scared, and they were there. The only light in the room was that exit sign, and it was so far away...

A shove to his back told him Daniel was trying to get him moving, trying to get him and Bailey safe, but he overbalanced from it and tripped, falling into one person only to get shoved back against another, knocking the wind out of him and drawing cries of pain and fright from him with heach elbow an one or two stomping, uncaring feet.

And in the confusion, it was all he could do to reach out with his fingers, to try to find Bailey and Daniel and not be separated because separated would be bad, so terribly bad and he knew that it would, especially if there really were things out there in the dark.

Cara Stauss - 9

"If this is becoming typical then it's probably better not to go to anything like this next year," Cara pointed out, trying hard to ignore her thudding heart and the sounds of people and things moving once the lights were out and the glass shattered. "Though doubt this is like the damn bat, at least."

Which... was probably a good thing, because they really didn't need a repeat of the Squeakers incident. Definitely not with this many people around. "C'mon, let's get to the exit," she said, squinting through the dark and moving with Ally toward the exit sign. She heard her friend hiss at a few clumsy idiots as they struck her, but managed to avoid the bumps and potential-bruises herself.

When she glanced over her shoulder, at the back of the crowd, she thought she saw - well, she wasn't sure what. But it was something. Probably. And in a situation like this? Better to assume the monster was real than that it wasn't, with very real monsters around at any given time of the year anyway. "Ally, move, there's somethin' chasing us!"

Virell deVilliers

Virell was immediately flattered that she noticed how good he looked in his costume, but it seemed like his time to shine was short lived because the lights had gone out.

“Oh, honey,” he said sympathetically; even in the darkness, he could empathize with the complexities of a love life. He didn’t protest when Lavender grabbed his hand. Virell’s vision wasn’t exactly the best, especially in the dark, but his own vanity prevented him from wearing glasses, no matter how much he sometimes thought he might need them.

He almost seemed more concerned with Lavender’s breakup than he was the darkness; as far as he was concerned, it was just another day in Destiny City. Still, falling glass probably wouldn’t have ended well, so he ducked his head and let Lavender pull him along.

“Well, you look gorgeous,” he suggested as he moved with her. While her tugging kept him relatively safe, he did occasionally bump into someone else or find himself narrowly avoiding stumbling over feet or things that had fallen in the shuffle. Not one to keep quiet, he continued, “And you have been missed. I’m sorry to hear about your girlfriend. We should go out for lunch and gossip. You know, when Destiny City isn’t ruining everything. Is Rhona a friend of yours? –Do you want me to call for her, too?”

Trey Cameron - Modern Vampire hunter, with foam stake & cross necklace

Trey couldn’t help his mirth at his brother’s dramatics. As much as he might tease him, there was something endearing about it, honestly. Maybe because he knew they were more for show than anything.

“Women have wet shirt contests. Why not men? It might make you look vulnerable and broody and in need of some nurturing.” He teased. The stake rolled between his fingers again as he tucked his free hand into his pocket, looking bored now that he wasn’t trying terribly hard to look interested and engaged. That belonged in their usual social circles. It was nice not to have to pretend here.

The threat issued from the man at his side had blue eyes dancing and Trey turned with a mischievous expression.

“Seam-a-llow-ancccce…” His exaggerated mouth motions drew out the words, distracting him from the approach of a young man he didn’t recognize right off.

Trey broke off with a blink and between one moment and the next, his face had smoothed from playfulness into polite interest. He gave the newcomer a subtle look up and down to gauge if this was someone he had been introduced to before, but his memory came up blanks when he tried. Someone new then, and apparently one who knew his younger sibling. Dark brows lifted as he cast a look at Rowan before he turned back with an extended hand.

“Trey Cameron. It’s a pleasure.”

Anticipating finally finding something to occupy him, Trey was unprepared for the sudden loss of sight as everything went back. He stood staring into the darkness for a moment, hand still extended, until the sound of glass shattering sent a jolt of adrenaline up his spine and his body into motion.

“Rowan!” His first instinct was to grab at where he remembered his brother to be and drag him back, away from the indistinct sound of danger and behind him, if not to safety. There were a lot of people making a break for the only light in the dark and Trey felt himself bumped and jostled along.

Aloysius Sharp

As the night went on he nervously buttoned up his layers a bit more as an uncomfortable feeling started eating at him. When the lights went out he instantly pressed himself against the wall to listen for any other noises besides the shattering of glass and scraping of metal. He looked up and slowly tried making his way towards the exit. It went smoothly for the most part except, he constantly kept bumping into the concessions and got candy and soda all over his coat.

As he reached the door he pulled his hair out from underneath to avoid getting anything sticky in it if he didn't get the time to change later. This was definitely not how he had planned for the night to go.

Alexandre Evans

Small as he was Alexandre was prone to getting cold rather easily, easier than someone with more mass to them. With little body fat it would be a surprise if he was good at keeping warm. So when it started to get cold he got a bit paler and shivered a bit, shifting closer to his cousin for warmth.

"I don't know if I'd be wishing to get out sooner...it's getting cold. I also am not liking the looks of things outside..." Motioning, with his head, towards what seemed like some sort of heavy fog rolling in and covering the windows. Though it seemed...off.

"The workers even look a bit...off." He whispered, a small tilting of his head,
towards a worker, to indicate what he meant. "I don't like the feel of this all...." He had long ago gotten used to no event, especially holiday ones, being safe in this city. He wasn't about to think this event safe and he didn't trust the idea of going outside...nor did he like being indoors either. Being home would be safe...well maybe. There were spider webs in the city and yet no spiders - there had to be spiders...just somewhere.

When the lights flickered he moved closer to his cousin. "Keep close..." And he had ever right to say that as a moment later the lights cu tout and glass was shattering.

"Exit, get to the exit." Moving for it himself, reaching out to grab his cousin and drag him through the crowd, pushing and moving around people, Alexandre was determined to get there with little to no issue - and he did so. It was when he turned towards his cousin that he spotted something...something which had him going pale and caused him to start to shiver. "S-Sp-Spider..." He'd found them....or rather they'd found him...and everyone else here.

Seung Kim

The whole point of the school uniform was to distract his husband, as he knew the other had some sort of thing for him in a school uniform. He'd been rather surprised when Terry had decided to do something similar, though his was a cosplay where as his was an actual school uniform.
It was nice though to have a similar costume for the event, they looked good together.

Glancing about at all the people, a few dressed in rather expensive outfits,
Seung was glad that their own outfits were rather cost efficient as well as well made - he'd made Terry's outfit. There was no way that he was going to let the other purchase a costume when he could make it, and use proper fabrics for it, why spend the money for someone else to do what he himself could easily do himself?

"Want a drink Terry, Eunkyung?" Asking them both as he prepared to go and refill the now empty cup he was holding, noting that his hyung's cup was still filled with liquid.

Already moving to step away, to find where the drinks were, he stopped for a moment and turned his dark eyes upward as the lights flickered a few times before failing entirely and going out. "Terry?" Lowering his head to give his partner a questioning, and somewhat worried, look. It wasn't until the glass started that he fully grasped that something had really gone wrong, that there wasn't just bad weather outside. Rain and wind wasn't going to shatter glass like that.

"Head to the exit." The 'head there now' was implied, he doubted he needed to say it. As he reached out towards his family, wanting to keep them close to himself, he let his drink cup fall to the ground. Moving towards the exit he was hit into, people not really thinking of much other than reaching the exit, he felt something against his leg and he felt his uniform pant leg snag on a table...at least he thought it was a table.

"Need to get outside - now."

Eunkyung Lee

"Yes, please." Offering her empty cup to her elder cousin, glad for his offer to refill her drink, she was hoping the event would start soon before it got colder. Her costume, while adorable and cute, was not meant for the cold and if it got later she would wind up more miserable than anything outside - as she'd freeze.

Shuffling closer to Hyeon, since he was warmer than she was, she pressed into his side gently. "First time we have celebrated Halloween like this." Even though she and Seung-hyung had lived here longer it was still a first for them. "Maybe we can go to haunted house soon also...or other things." There was, from what she had researched last year, a lot of fun things to do this time of year. It was, in part, about spooky things but it was also meant to be fun and carefree as well.

However, there was nothing carefree about the lights going out, they'd been flickering a moment ago, or the glass windows around them shattering and causing people to scream. It didn't take her long to react to Seung-hyung as he told them to head for the exit. Only she had a difficult time getting there and even could swear something harry brushed against her...something big and hairy. When she did get to the exit, she had sore feet from all the times her toes had been trampled by other people and she was nervous and fretting as she moved about with nervous energy.

"We should go home...stay inside when we get there." And stay in one house - Terry's family home was best. Her aunt and uncle didn't know about them being senshi and knights, it was best kept that way, where as Terry and Matt's family knew. It would be safe for them all there. But first they needed to get out of here.

Rhona was about to respond to Xi-Wangs comment about the inevitable sickness being Future Rhona's problem and that Present Rhona was going to enjoy herself but Destiny City was... after all... Destiny city... and it had other plans for them. She groaned out loud after the initial scream of shock died from her lips. Of just ******** great. And she couldn't power up here either... too many people. Besides... this might have just been a power outage... that broke windows. Oh for the love for god Rhona just wanted one day, one ******** day where things went normally.

The sound of her name being called caused her breath to catch in her throat... she hadn't expected Lavender to have noticed her, much less to call out to her. with how rightfully angry she had been when they left off... she half expected to slip away from the night unnoticed. Such was not her lot in life. But... she also couldn't just leave Xi-Wang and his beau. She took a hold of Xi-Wang's elbow for just a moment and pointed -- however well that worked int he pitch black -- towards the exit sign.

"There, we need to go there. And I need to make a pit stop along the way. Stay close guys. There's probably not going to be an easy way out if the city is... well... true to itself."

Rhona kept Xi-Wang and his boyfriend in half-sight while she pushed her way through the sea of people, cursing out her damned <********> heels the whole way. She should have come as a Power Ranger or Dean Winchester or something else sensible. It would have made the trek towards Lavender's voice that much easier...

"I'm here Lav," she called into the darkness, finally kicking off her shoes and tucking them over her arms. She should have been better at nevigating in them, but she chalked it up to magical heels versus normal heels and let it be.

"I'm here Lav, just make your way to the exit and we'll meet up there."

As the lights went out and the sound overpowered her, Gisela could feel herself falling to her knees. This was a nightmare. Literally. It had to be. Her parents had actually let her stay at home and sleep and this was a night terror that wouldn't let her go. It wasn't until someone ran into her, causing her to fall to her knees and scrap her hands that she realized that this was real. the henshin pen was heavy in her pocket but she knew she couldn't. Even in the dark she couldn't risk outing herself. Besides... what if there were more order than chaos. What if she was the only chaos?

"Gisela Sweetie?" Her mother's voice broke her train of thought, and for once she was thankful. "Gisela if you can hear me, make your way to the exit. Your father and I will find you there."

Exit? Gisela looked up and around and in the chaos of what was happening, she just barely made out the soft glow of an exit sign. Thankfully years of wandering around the night made it easy for her to pick her way through the darkness. Her chronic insomnia also made it easy to explain away the constant sound of scittering on the floor or the brush of something hairy against her leg. She hadn't slept for about half a week and her mind was throwing shapes. That's all these here. Hallucinations.

The group that Mahogany had been gloating to shrank away from the sound and scattered when the lights blew out. Not that Mahogany expected anything else. They were all of the same ilk, after all. Faithless beauties who held no honor when pressed. He scattered as well.

"Esta! Mom? Dad??"

He had wandered too far away, they were out of ear shot. And this damned mask didn't make it easy to navigate the darkness. After a few short moments he tore it off and tossed it away in a great clatter. Later on his mother would complain that the mask was a hand-painted Venetian one-of-a-kind something or other but he'd just say that it was knocked off in the panic. It wasn't too unlikely, given that he couldn't stop bumping in to people on the way to the exit sign. Yeah, the mask would have been jostled off in this bullshit. Besides, she would buy him another one as a memento. Which he didn't want. Especially of Destiny City kept it's pattern of doing terrible things to people in large groups. Why did anyone even gather anymore?

Yuuri Matsunaga (not in a costume)

”I didn’t think you would be,” Yuuri said quietly in response, unable to imagine Adrien dressing up as anything but something beautiful and regal. And sure enough, the word ‘prince’ was falling from his lips.

“I’m just wearing what I wore to class,” he said with a hint of exasperation in his voice, hardly thinking he could be considered gorgeous, but Adrien liked saying things like that to make him feel good. And it did make him feel good, even if it was an exaggeration.

But when he opened his mouth to say something else, the lights flickered and went out.

People were already starting to panic, and Yuuri’s grip on Adrien’s hand tightened as the rate of his heart skyrocketed. After being trapped in the mirror and thinking he fell to his death, Yuuri was very, very not okay with things like this.

“We should go,” he choked out, looking around for the exit while staying close to his boyfriend without crowding him too much.

He tugged at Adrien’s hand once more to pull him towards the door, the hair on the back of his neck rising as he saw shadowy creatures lurking in the dark behind them. He would not have his boyfriend become youma food, if that’s what they were.

Michael Lyons-Gallo ( dressed as Obi Wan )

The tension in his jaw grew as Caspian stood before him, an uncomfortable twist in his stomach as his concerns were turned into something ridiculous in the form of a silly name. He wasn’t trying to be pessimistic or negative when he knew they were there to have a good time, but he couldn’t shake the discomfort.

Michael forced himself to let out a breath as Caspian reached up to touch his face, trying to will himself to settle down. He was making this uncomfortable for Caspian too, after all. Caspian deserved to have a night of fun after months of recovering.

But before he could say anything else, the lights went out and glass shattered from the windows around them.

There was no point in arguing. Michael kept hold of Caspian’s hands as he turned to make the way towards the exit, not feeling too guilty as he cleared the path for his husband in tow, bumping into a few people with muttered apologies on his part.

---

Ilian Jones ( dressed as Jon Snow )

Ilian stared, first at Lovely, who was obviously enjoying himself, and then at Seth, who was probably going to get his finger bitten off.

Was it too much to ask for them to get along? He was hoping, but he knew Lovely was also quite jealous and had never been happy about the fact that Ilian had recruits under him.

“Both of you knock it off,” he requested, choosing to ignore Lovely’s comment, and the way Seth responded.

Thankfully (almost), the lights went out and glass came shattering down. Anything to stop the insults and bickering. He had no issues with Lovely or any of his recruits separately, and Jericho had no problem with them either, so why did Lovely have to make such a big deal over this? Shouldn’t he be proud of him instead of jealous?

Distracted by his thoughts, Ilian didn’t have that great of a time making it to the exit. He ended up being elbowed in the face by someone, and was sure he would have a bruise on his cheek by the morning.

---

Chris Gallo ( dressed as Captain Hook from ONCE )

He took the plate that was handed to him and laughed, holding up his other hand with the hook for Paris to see.

“You’ll have to feed me if I’m holding the plate,” he teased. “We won’t have s**t luck tonight. Things will be fine. And yes, I’ll go to cooking classes with you,” Chris was in the middle of saying -

When the lights went out.

Well… so much for that.

“They should come back on in a bit,” he said, hopeful, and then the shattering of glass. And screams.

Okay, so that wasn’t good. “Alright, you win,” he said, knowing Paris was probably going to hold this over his head for a while.

“Sorry, baby. I wish things weren’t always like this,” he said a little dejectedly, placing the plate of cake down on the table so he could remove the hook from his other hand and tuck it under his belt. “Come on, we’ll just go home, okay? We don’t have to hang around.”

---

Peter Gallo ( dressed as Indiana Jones )

Peter caught Haven’s look, and raised his eyebrows in return - a silent yes. Yes, they were all powered, although he would have to make sure Vi knew that about Haven later, just in case they ever ended up crossing paths or needing the other’s help. But it was always dangerous to talk about things like that in public.

“We crossed paths while hiking. Research,” he said simply, hoping that was enough to explain what he was doing out by himself, and knowing she knew about his fascination with youma. It was probably a good thing that they hadn’t run into any that day.

“I mean, I guess by definition…” Peter said thoughtfully, looking from Vi to Haven. “That doesn’t make you any less of my friend, Vi,” he started to say, just as the lights began to flicker and go out.

The ensuing panic had Peter reaching for both Vi and Haven’s wrists, not wanting them to get separated in the dark, but let go after a moment. “Can you pull out your phones? We can at least get some light then,” he suggested, reaching into his pocket so he could pull his own out. He didn’t have any issues making it to the exit, but he didn’t like the shadowy figures lurking around the room.

“Might be youma,” he hissed to both Haven and Vi, looking them over to make sure they were still okay.

Kathryn McAdams - not dressed up (getting tired of weird sh*t)

To think the evening could have been normal. It should have been normal. Was that evening a guaranteed thing now in Destiny City? As the evening wore on Kathryn had managed to buy a few raffle tickets and enjoy the free candy but the promise of intrigue in the maze had yet to appear. What was with that?

Just at the time when she thought maybe the evening would be better spent at home reading a book Kathryn was suddenly thrust into darkness as every light in the reception hall went out as one entity. Oh that would have been fine if she was anywhere near the only thing providing light; an Exit Sign, but no, she had to be all the way across the hall. "Oh for the love of..."

The exclamation died as suddenly she was thrust forward and barely had time to catch herself from falling but in the effort she did get smacked a few times by others elbows. Not only that ... but she swore she felt something brush by her, something that was not human or animal. Was she losing her mind?

'I need to get to the exit. C'mon, pick yourself up and go.'

The journey to the exit sign was arduous and by the time Kathryn made it she had acquired more than her fair share of bruises and a very sore right foot, courtesy of those around her.
