Acubens reached out automatically for Kiuchi as she kept her watch out for anyone in need of her help. There was fear in his voice, and it was killing her that there was nothing that she could say or do that would take that fear away. She could lie, sure, but what good would that do? All she could do was tell him the truth and offer what little hope they had.
"I don't know..." She turned to him finally, cupping his face in her hands and pressing her forehead to hers. "But whatever is happened, we face it together. Like we did before." It gave her some hope, at least. To know that she wasn't in this alone. That there were others, even kind strangers, who would support the rest of the court. Maybe it would help Kiuchi too...
When Ptolemy spoke, she glanced back at him, but returned her focus to the lip of the cliff. He had a point, no one had fallen. And from the looks of it the only terrible injuries were from shaken nerves with this last hurdle that mirrorspace had thrown at them. Still... compiled on everything else... it was enough to make anyone snap. She could see it in Sinope, Laverna, and a third senshi. She tried to bite back irritation as the echos of their bickering filtered over the lip of the cliff. This was hard enough without in fighting. Sinope looked old enough to know not to instigate. Laverna looked old enough to know not to bite. With the reverence with which she gazed at Remarque -- Acubens had not missed that -- she should have garnered some of his patience. Acubens was by no means perfect, but she knew when it was acceptable to take the bait.
"I'll feel a great deal better when everyone is back on solid ground. Or at least something more solid than those foot holds." Honestly, that this point, Acubens didn't put it past mirrorspace to pull the ground right out from underneath them. "And when he surfaces, please remind Sinope that this trek is difficult enough without younger senshi picking at one another. We need to be a unit. We can't be fractured, even for a second. I will talk to Remarque about... Laverna I think she's called."
When Crocus crawled over the lip Acubens did her best to aid him while still keeping protective hold of Kiuchi.
"The common room, I think, is the least of his problem," she muttered as she carefully inspected his bandaged should yet again. She pushed her hand into his injured one and gave a curt direction. "Squeeze. I want to see how your muscles are holding up. God damn, boys. The second we get out of here you are both going to a hospital."
Now it was just to wait for Chione to surface... please be alright...
There was no hiding the murderous intent in Laverna's eyes that flared to life at the little man's words. They flickered upwards to find his form and then the eyes of the woman gazing back at her. She caught Acubuans' look and dared the woman to say anything. She didn't care that the woman was a higher rank. All that told Laverna was she had been around longer. She had done nothing to earn her respect.
A respect that was quickly flickering away as she watched Sinope gaze up.
She should have looked up and passed her rage for another time. Rocks and debris came raining down on her exposed head, catching Laverna completely off guard as she tried to hold her ground. Anger had blinded her and she felt her balance slip. One step forward and she felt her foot hit something that was very much not stable....
Down she went, feeling the ground give way under her. She could feel the rubble hit on her skin once more, pushing against her hand as she jerked them out to grab onto the ledge she had been standing on. Nails dug into the mirrorspace ground and the senshi of thieves held on for dear life. Mirrorspace didn't scare her....falling to her death in the middle of nothing terrified her.
How long debris ran down on her head, Laverna couldn't say. It felt like years before she could hike herself back up onto 'solid' ground and continue on the narrow path.
"Spa day after this..." She mumbled for Diadem to hear. "My treat..."

When the debris began to shower them, Remarque immediately moved closer to the wall. He was a larger target than the others, at least because of his wings, but it seemed like the little extra slice of danger gave him the adrenaline boost he needed to pick up the pace. He wasn’t screwing around and he wasn’t pacing himself; for as worried as he was about Lesath falling, he was more worried about her getting brained.
Her, or anyone below them.
“Can’t really fly babe, you know that.” Not himself, much less two people. But his wings had to be good for something. “Hold on, though. I got this.”
He picked up the pace a bit, ascending quickl so he could thrust his wings out; they weren’t a great armor, but it would at least guarantee that impact was lessened to anyone beneath them.
He hadn’t ever hurt his wings, not really. Not like Leto, who’d had hers torn off. He’d been careful. For good reason, it seemed; a baseball sized chunk hit the feathers of his wing and rolled off, but when a slightly larger piece hit close to his spine he let out a swear. For a second, he’d seen white. But, he hadn’t stopped; he kept ascending, at a pace he hoped would benefit those below him.
Even when he reached the platform and pulled himself up, he maneuvered his wings into a makeshift umbrella as much as he could and tried to pull Lesath up, quickly. “You all right?” he asked, lingering by the edge in case anyone else needed assistance.

The platform at the top of the steep wall was not as safe as it might have initially appeared, though it did grant safety from the falling debris and was as stable a place as any to catch a breath. The walls occasionally seemed to shake, sending more chunks of debris down below. Much of the path up the wall had been destroyed, and with the height of the platform compared to the ground below, it seemed extremely unwise to try jumping.
The only way now was forward—which was easier said than done.
A quick glance around would reveal a large, silver framed mirror on the distance side of the plateau, but reaching it was going to be a little difficult considering it wasn’t a straight path; instead, they were faced with one sizable obstacle.
Much of the ground between them and the mirror seemed to have fallen away—if not now, some time in the past. It left a great crevice, black and empty. It was too deep to see the bottom of the crevice and black smoke and strange shadows danced between what smaller platforms and crystals protruded from the darkness.
Some of the platforms seemed easy to reach; they were wide enough for a few people to stand on at once. Some crystals looked like someone might be able to cling to it between jumps from one platform to the next.
It was an intimidating sight, but they were so close to the end; the strange energy that had been calling them was nagging at them. It was just through the mirror, only a few good jumps away.

1-3: You’re a mess; you slip multiple times or the platform crumbles beneath you. Thankfully, you’re able to save yourself before it’s too late, but you’re going to need to practice your agility. You wind up taking a bit of a long time to get to the new room. 4-7: You manage to pass across the gaping chasm with minimal hardships; you slip once or twice or the ground crumbles beneath you. As if the climbing hadn’t been enough of a torture for Kibirev, now she had to do some ninja jumping from one pole to another, only it was literally a life or death thing…her balance wasn’t good at all…and she was more scared than she had ever been in her life. Somehow, through sheer force of will, or dumb luck she managed to make it to the other side, trembling and pale, and promptly burst into tears, looking around for Lovejoy, looking around for anyone who might come to her rescue.
Everyone was up. Everyone had made up to the ledge, even those who were, perhaps, not her biggest fans. And that was all she asked for. Hate me, but stay alive. All of you. She let go of Kiuchi with some hesitation and smoothed his fuku out.
"We're almost done," she soothed the three she led. She took hold of Chione's hand and squeezed with all that she was. She knew that she hadn't been as attentive to the female as she should have been. But then again, Chione wasn't as injured as Crocus and Kiuchi were. She also didn't have the panic in her eyes like Kiuchi did. Then again, she might have just been better at hiding it than the boys were. "I can feel it. Through that frame is the end of this trial. All we need to do is get there. Stay behind me. Follow my foot falls. Move as fast as you feel comfortable moving, so faster. No slower. Most importantly... stay alive."
She moved first, runner's legs keeping her steps light so as to avoid making any cracks that didn't need to be made. Her shoes barely made a sound on the surface as she moved. Easy enough... she stood, chest heaving, waiting for the others to make their way across.
Chione was tired. The last few obstacles had really been a lot to handle, but once she was on top of the ledge, she gave Acubens a quick smile then moved on to the next task. There were one or two moments where she was sure that she was going to fall. One or two moments where she was sure it was all over with, but she managed to make it across and promptly dropped to all fours, half wanting to kiss the stability of the ground she had made it too.
Idly, she looked for Acubens. This stuff wasn’t for her…it might have been a grand adventure…but seriously.
She used to hate his prince form. She had been jealous, of course. Jealous that he was suddenly even more Mr. Popular, and she was just…boring Lesath…but with time, she had learned to love them. And now, as he used his wings to protect her from the dust and rocks…she loved them even more.
Loved him even more.
As she pulled herself up on the top of the ledge, Lesath gave a sigh. “You know…we really just need to grit our teeth and set the date for the wedding…even if it’s not a big one…and even if I have to be Raven Draven…I’m ready for it. I’m…I’m beyond ready to be your wife, okay? So…let’s just get married and live happily ever after…”
She drew close to him and kissed him as deeply and passionately as she ever had, then grinned and took off, eyeing the platforms and the long way down that spanned between them.
She could do this…right now…
She could do anything.
Lightly, Lesath jumped from one platform to another, landing with a surprising grace on the other side. “Come on, Remarque. I want to kiss you some more.”

The conversation wasn’t one he expected to have tonight, but Remarque wasn’t complaining. It was enough to keep his mind off the fact that there was a gaping hole between him and their exit, and he knew for a fact that his footwork wasn’t the best. He’d always focused on training for the hit; who cared about where your feet were when it happened?
The kiss had more than gotten his attention, and though Remarque managed one quick sweep to make sure everyone was still doing all right, his eyes were back on her. .She’d had a head start, but then—she was a cheerleader. She was probably far more coordinated than him, there.
Remarque was not a fan of heights, though he wouldn’t admit it, and a part of him considered just taking a running leap and seeing how far he could glide but he was considerate of the others passing and instead chose to take a slightly out of the way path to make sure everyone had enough room.
There were pros and cons; on one hand, he was out of the way. On the other hand, twice did the platform he was standing on start to crumble beneath his feet.
He moved quickly, eager to be back on solid land. He reached Lesath and grabbed her arm, pulling her close to him. “If I’d known Mirrorspace made you so romantic, I’d have planned more dates here,” he teased; she’d stolen the first kiss, but he took the second. He matched her passion, her love, and made this kiss count.
Perhaps a part of him realized that maybe this wasn’t the best time or place to makeout with the woman you love; he lifted his wings just enough to properly conceal what exactly they were doing, just in case anyone was feeling a little testy.
When they broke apart, he flashed a grin and then tore his gaze away to look at the rest of the Senshi. “We’ll have more time to kiss tonight,” he promised, now just focusing on the Senshi as they worked their way to the other side. He seemed ready to try and help if something should go wrong, but in this situation he could only hope for the best and hope everyone was being careful.
He skimmed the crowd for the faces he knew and found relief when he realized that he could see everyone they’d started with. Some where in rougher shape than others, but they were all alive—and so close to whatever that strange calling was.
"Yeah...passive attacks seem like they'd be the hardest to figure out, but I'm sure there's a way," Sinope answered Sadalsuud. He nodded at her mention of there still being a pathway to the top with the platforms, but this was getting to be ridiculous.
"Damn...I can't tell if Mirrorspace wants us to reach the top or not!" Was this some sort of trial it was putting them through? For what purpose, exactly? He would have liked to reach the end if only to learn why.
Sinope grimaced when he saw what lay before them after finally reaching the top. They had survived one obstacle just to be faced with a whole new one. He groaned in frustration and glanced at the others to see how they were taking in the new view.
Ptolemaeus glanced at Mimi. "You said your parents raised you to be polite. That's pretty awesome, so long as it doesn't get in the way of you being able to say what you wanna say." Grinning again, he answered her question about his power. "I wouldn't say it's more interesting than yours. But yeah, it's fun to test it out if only to see what it'll do, since even I never know what'll happen."
He kept an eye on Acubens, because while she was busy enough watching the others, he doubted she was sparing enough attention for herself as she should have. At her request, he laughed. "I don't know that I'd have any better luck with 'reminding' him than anyone else," the college teen confessed, "but I'll try." It was true that he probably had a better insight into how Sinope thought than most, and because of that, he could probably reason with him better.
Leaning closer to the eternal senshi briefly, the black-haired male murmured, "I think his 'picking' on others is his way of relieving his tension and concealing his fear, though. Because if I've learned anything about him in the time I've known him...I'd say he's scared out of his wits right now." And not just from their current, life-threatening situation, either. "You don't need to talk to anyone about Laverna. I'm pretty sure Sinope started it. He just needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut."
Once they reached the top, Ptolemy heaved a great sigh. It was a mix of weariness and relief. Though they still had more to go, the end seemed to be in plain view in the form of a large, silver-framed mirror on the opposite side of a crevice. At least, he hoped it was the end. It was difficult to say since the last mirror they'd encountered had cracked and exploded its shards at them. He drew closer to the others just in case such an event repeated itself so that he could try to block them from more shards if he got the chance.
Without delaying, Ptolemaeus took a running start toward the crevice and began to leap and jump as best he could from one platform or crystal to the next. At least if he went across first, he could prove it was safe and he would be closest to the mirror so he could shield the senshi behind him from any new attacks it might have decided to send their way.

Sadalsuud had followed the path upwards in the hope that it would get her away from the falling debris and in the hope that it would lead her some place safe. Continuing upwards had turned out to be much more difficult going than the initial ascent.
It had proved much more scary too - in part down to the falling debris and in part (the larger one) down to the way that said debris kept breaking the paths and platforms that Sadalsuud kept trying to aim for–
And whilst eventually she was able to finally find a solid enough path - it took far longer for her to do so than she would have liked.
It was therefore a relief when Sadalsuud was finally able to reach the top, albeit one that was short lived - because backwards wasn't really an option which meant that the only way onwards was forwards...
Well make that forwards somehow given that a lot of the onwards path appeared to be missing.
But the strange energy seemed to be closer - much closer - too close for her to want to turn back now.
"Maybe we can reach some of those platforms" and whilst the words were forSinope, Sadalsuud was really trying to convince herself as she took a nervous step forward "They don't look so far."

"Sh--" Mimi almost couldn't hold herself back from swearing. How was she going to get through this? The constant obstacles had made her muscles more and more tired. She was already in shape, but there's only so much her body could take. "Come on... Come on..." She tried to push herself mentally, but it seemed like she was stumbling more often than not.
(Just gunna catch them all up at once so as not to spam the thread.)
Storm had gotten a ride with Remy since; well unfortunately Storm felt woefully low on friends in mirror space when he realized how many of them there really were. "Man I gotta get out more." He said he softly to himself as he kind of took mental notes of everyone here - even if he'd never remember everyone. . . .
Quote:
A large group of Dark Mirror Senshi had collected; it was time to get a move on. Suddenly, a strange, metallic crack sounded. Before them, another part of the wall crumbled and exposed a slightly larger space to crawl through. It was unlikely this was going to be just a walk in the park; everyone was going to have to prepare for the worst.
Passing through the crack was easy enough; it lead into a long, smoky corridor. White fog seemed to fall from the walls and collect near their feet. The fog was too thick to see the ground, and no matter how much movement it never seemed to thin. The walls of this new room are not unlike the walls one might expect to see in Mirrorspace; they were white and covered with mirrors. The only difference between them was the strange, wall sized mirror in an ornate silver frame at the end of this corridor.
Quote:
It is difficult too see the floor of this hallway but you will need to navigate to the end of it to explore Mirrorspace! Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your Senshi progresses!
4-7: You trip over some small debris and sometimes it feels like the smoke is pulling down on your ankles but you make it without much issue.
Storm hadn't expected to see the state that mirrorspace was in. Despite not having visited . . . much . . . because having to hitch a ride often was inconvenient at best. However he never expected to hear this loud cracking sound and watch the mirror space just crumble away. It was a little distressing to be honest.
However, he eventually followed everyone into the crack when it was his time to file through. Storm also had to admit the fog was very impressive with how stubborn and thick it was to lay around just aimlessly. However, it was very good at hiding debris on the ground, which Storm managed to crack a toe on. Storm gave out an audible yelp when he did, having been startled more than actually hurt; though he was sure his big toe was going to be bruised for a little while. Between his now injured toe and the fact it was very uncomfortable walking through the hallway with barefeet anyways slowed poor Storm down considerably.
Round 1 - First Die 9 - 2 Late - 0 Basic Bonus 7
Quote:
The mirror at the far end of the corridor rippled; before anyone could try to investigate or step through, the glass suddenly made a loud, splintering noise. Another crack rippled across the surface, fragmenting the mirror’s surface into several large pieces. A loud crashing noise echoed through the hallway and the glass exploded from the mirror’s frame, sending large shards flying through the air towards the hapless Senshi.
On one hand, a new area seems to be exposed—on the other hand, it doesn't do you much good if you’re sliced to shreds.
Quote:
Large glass shards shoot through the air like projectiles and you need to try and stay in one piece! Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your Senshi progresses!
8 or higher: You make it through the corridor without any issue.
When the mirrors started rippling Storm stopped. He felt his hair standing on end as he watched and soon the cracking started again, and he was watching for a way out. If he'd learned anything in this short hallway trek; it was that this wasn't going to end well for his poor feet. So as soon as he saw an opening he bolted for it as the mirrors around them crashed down. "Nope, nope, nope; Oh hell to the nope brother." He said as he sprinted down the hallways not really caring who was in his way or if he just barreled them over. He wasn't obviously the fastest but he was still getting the hell out of dodge.
Round 2 - Second Die 10 - 2 Late - 0 Basic Bonus 8
Running Total: 15
Quote:
Once the flying debris had landed, it seemed like it was safe enough to pass through the silver mirror frame. The wall behind it seemed to be unstable; there was a small crawl space and, while you can’t see exactly what is through the little passage, there is light on the other side. It seems like the pathway branches into three different, winding options and while it looks like they might all twist into the same room, it’s too dark to tell which is the better path.
Things seem stable for the moment—you just have to hope that there’s not a cave in on your way from this room to the next.
Quote:
The passageway is small enough that you’ll need to pass one by one, but it’s difficult to tell which path is the right path. Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your Senshi progresses!
8 or higher: You’ve hit a stroke of luck; though crawling is uncomfortable, you manage to choose the easiest path and reach the other side with ease.
Storm was continuing his bat out of hell impression as the silver ornate framed mirror finally provided them with a way out. However, what sucked in Storm's opinion, was that it was only large enough for one person at a time. When it was his turn he crawled through as quickly as he could without causing himself more discomfort. However, it seemed he'd managed to pick the easiest path as he navigated through the tunnels. He felt a little like a hamster, if he had to be honest.
Round 3 - Third Die 10 - 2 Late - 0 Basic Bonus 8
Running Total: 23
Quote:
The new room was immediately recognizable as something different. Most of the hallways and rooms in Mirrorspace all seemed to have a general height in common; the ceiling seemed to be in the same place—or, at least, close enough.
This was different.
The ceiling was so high up that it wasn’t even visible; it was concealed by a thick wall of pale fog. It seemed like they were at the base of a steep cliff almost; three walls were barren but one wall had strange debris sticking out of it—shards large enough to stand on and what looked to be the frames of broken mirrors protruding like footholds. While the scene seemed odd and accidental, the strange protrusions seemed incredibly sturdy—and from the looks of things, it seemed like it was possible to scale it.
Which, in this instance, seemed like it might be a good idea; the strange feeling of something being nearby is now permeating the air. It’s still not clear just what is going on—but it’s not too much further away.
Quote:
A steep wall stands between you and whatever it is you’re looking for, and the only way to move on is to scale this wall. Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your Senshi progresses!
4-7: You make the mistake of taking the long way up. You might not have had to deal with platforms breaking underneath your weight, but you’re feeling the effects of the long path to get to where you are. You manage to make it halfway up, but you’re muscles are feeling a bit of a burn.
When he finally came out the other side of the tunnel thing they were in; Storm was starting to wonder what sort of sick fun house this mirror space was. After all; it was no place at all to be barefoot. He'd have to remember to bring . . . some sort of shoes.
Though his thoughts were lost when he looked around the room they were in. Really, really, really high ceiling so much so; that he questioned if there even was one. Blank walls, check. And his favorite . . . . shards sticking out of the other, fourth wall. "I guess this is what happens when you breath the fourth wall." He said to no one in particular. There was a sigh as he decided to start heading up to the top. . . maybe?
The senshi honestly wasn't even sure where or which way hew as going. So he just headed for which ever foot hold and hand hold looked the easiest to get to. However, as fortune had been on his side prior to this; it wasn't there now. As he stopped to rest after what seemed like he'd been climbing for an entirety. He could feel his muscles aching and starting to burn; so he decided he needed to stretch at least; maybe it'd help.
Round 4 - Fourth Die 9 - 2 Late - 0 Basic Bonus 7

Quote:
The group has made it about halfway up without major issue, but of course things couldn’t just be easy. Another low, metallic wailing echoed throughout Mirrorspace. The ground seemed to reverberate, the walls seemed to shake.
More importantly, the ceiling seemed to fall.
Large rocks and pieces of broken mirrors seemed to suddenly slip through the wall of white fog hiding the ceiling—right towards the wall-hugging Senshi below.
Quote:
You are trapped, clinging to the wall as you hide from falling debris. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop and the only place that seems safe is at the top of the wall—but you’re only halfway there and need to move fast. Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your Senshi progresses!
1-3: Small chunks of debris hit you, causing soreness an slowness. While you aren’t guaranteed any permanent or severe damage, the constant barrage of shards and chunks of the ceiling severely slows you down. Eventually, you reach the top.
Storm had hoped that it wouldn't come to a worse scenario; however, from the looks of it; it was starting to boil down to worse case. When the area around them started shaking. Rumbling and threre came down what he could only assume was the roof; since there was no way there could be anything else up there. The senshi sighed as he squeezed himself as close to the wall as he could hoping he could avoid getting hit. It wasn't quite though his run of luck he'd been having earlier, as he found that the started getting hit by small chunks of debris. He'd started to move because he couldn't just stand here; but at the same time it wasn't quite the best option to move either as he found it caused more debris to hit it. Thankfully nothing horrible yet, but some scratches and totally some bruises. He wouldn't be surprised if he came out of this with at least a cracked bone before the end if it continued - or a concussion . . . . He didn't want either of those to be honest.

He was tired when he finally reached the platform. Thankfully it seemed he could stop and take a breath. Most of the ground below seemed to have crumbled away as the group had made it up here. IF anything, he was sure they weren't going home that way. Storm stretched out a little bit wincing at the bruises and small cuts that littered his outfit. "Ugh, this wasn't the best of fitness courses."
Though, as he looked across the way to the other side of the platform; which by the way had some issues of it's own, including a cavern. He wasn't pleased with that as the ground shook a little again. He sighed as he followed the rest of the group to try and get to other side.
Once he'd gotten where he could move platforms he found himself occasionally loosing his grip and almost slipping into the abyss that was mirror space. He couldn't even hope to fall through a mirror like Alice. Storm scrambled around trying to get to the other platform. Once again probably bringing up the rear. Oh well.
Round 6 - Sixth Die 3 - 0 Basic Bonus 3 Grand Total: 34
Tantalus was beginning to doubt his conviction that Mirrorspace was safe. It wasn't exactly easy to cling to that when there was debris raining from above, and he was seized by a moment of panic that it would hit him, or one of his fellow Court members, and send them tumbling back to the ground below.
He was lucky; he managed to cling on without too much trouble and make his way up and onto the platform, dusting off his fuku and hoping there weren't any nasty bits of glass or anything caught up in the fabric.
And then he stared out in front of him and frowned.
"Ugh. I despise platformers." He muttered under his breath.
At the least, Eternal strength and speed were meant for this sort of thing, and he had a feeling the end was near. He took a moment to map out the shortest route he could see, and then he raced forward, jumping from platform to platform and ending up landing fairly gracefully on the other side.
