The Nixie laughed at Laurel's comment. She was undeniably right, about both of the familiars being things that would normally live in the water! He'd never even thought of Novo that way, but it made sense to him when he thought about it. "They could just be drawn to your... incredible beauty," he replied, unable to come up with anything much more smooth than that. The familiars were awfully pretty. He was always amazed how many of them the school staff managed to get into this room without causing complete chaos. "Pff, I think Novo's already jealous of your familiars," Flax teased.
"I don't want to say let's grab food already, but let's go grab food," the Nixie said. He hadn't eaten dessert after the evening meal in the dining hall today, and he didn't want to hesitate to start filling his mouth with sugar. Flax led his girlfriend to a table piled with bags of candies, plucking one from the top. "I hope these have caramel," he said, offering some to Laurel.

Deciding she shouldn't hover around one table, Raleka decided to go and play some games to earn her hobby fodder. The hybrid meandered over to the booths, where she saw a dart game and decided to give it a shot. Her aim wasn't too precise, but she managed to throw a dart relatively near the middle, giving her a second-tier prize. Thankfully, she wasn't trying for anything like a familiar. A plushie was just what she wanted. She examined the orange duck with a small smile, thinking it was rather adorable. Definitely the type of plush she'd expect to see around springtime.

 ....And then placed a second ring in the palm of Freddy's still open hand. 'And one for your friend as well,' they said, giving Freddy a wink and leaving the poor Geist more confused than ever as they vanished into the crowd. He stared after them for a moment, feeling the urge to run after then and ask them....well he wasn't sure what he would ask them, but he felt like there was some question that needed asking. His body felt tense as he tried to make up his mind to stay put or try to catch them, when Nef suddenly reappeared. It was the one time in his life he actually yelped in surprise, which didn't help his confusion. He quickly put on a smile and listened to what she was saying, pretty sure his reaction was either going to be the cause of confusion on her part or make him the recipient of teasing. It wasn't too often that anyone got the drop on him, and they'd known each other both long enough that they had reach deep in their bag of tricks to surprise each other. His hand had convulsively closed around the rings as soon as Nef started speaking. Freddy looked down at what Nef was handing to him, and recognized the bell necklace, a twin to the one he'd gotten her right down to the color. Her commentary about making it a bracelet made him laugh, though he worried it didn't sound the same as it usually did. "You're right, my nezubat necklace is the epitome of cool. I bet I could totally pull off a bracelet though." He started to lift his hand for Nef to tie the ribbon necklace around his wrist, then remembered he was holding the rings in that hand. Still feeling a bit confused, he quickly switched tracks and offered up the other wrist instead. C-C-CaFFIENE Cue my evil laughter, and the potential for more awkwardness in the next post or two >D Also if Nef prefers the ring from Part 1, feel free to do a swap! As the bakeneko happily snacked on her candyfloss, she became unaware of her previous misery at her lack of her twin. All was good in her world now~ Finishing off the candyfloss, she reached out to her skyfish to pull it close to her and drape it around her neck like a scarf and hummed to the music. "Wanna dance, my new friend?" she asked it, giggling and moving onto the dance floor, where she swayed to the rhythm of the music.
Jun watched his twin, amused. She was so..ditzy at times. As he watched her, something caught the corner of his eyes - a flicker of movement. He shifted his eyes to the flurry of movement - a skyfish. It seemed to want to float towards him, genuinely curious. "Hrm, hello there," he purred at it, amused.
