Rowan wasn't sure how to handle the situation before him. His first instinct was to not trust either pokemon. Especially the mother that was staring him down, fur on end, and hackles raised. She was the epitome of danger, but he couldn't just leave. Diaspore tilted her head to the side and watched as Rowan pulled out a sandwich he had made, and split it in two, he placed it on a napkin and laid it near the Houndoom before handing the other to the little guy sniffing at him. As the houndoom glared at Rowan, she couldn't do much as her pup ate the sandwich. She sniffed at the piece waiting near her, and watched him as she took it into her mouth and tried not to seem too needy. She didn't need to seem weak. Next Rowan pulled out a bottle of water, he had come cups also, not very big ones, but enough to get a bit to drink. The hunter quickly poured some into a cup and set it next to the napkin, before dripping some into the houndour's mouth. Seemed it was very trusting right now. And there was nothing wrong with that at the moment. But as for the rest? He wasn't so sure...

Fabian had all but rushed out and half way down the path from the lab before finally coming to a halt. Winded he attempted to catch his breath, pokeball still clutched firmly in his hand and a grin still on his face. He was really that excited about meeting the prospective addition to his team, which was rather humorous since this was hardly his first pokemon. Still, there was just something about a fresh face that brought just a bit of glee. Maybe it was the prospective 'fan' idea that always seemed to come with a new face. Not that... everything or everyone wanted to be a fan of his. He was really pretty much a nobody at this point. But that would change! That. Would. Change.

"Thanks for waiting, I really appreciate it." Melody piped up as she finally caught up to him, giving him a look that contrasted with her comment. Fabian simply quirked an eyebrow startled as she shoved the remaining items he’d left behind into his arms. "You forgot these." She remarked flatly, adjusting her backpack once her hands were free.
Fabian looked the items over; potions, pokeballs and a … oh a pokedex! Yeah, that was kind of important. His cheeky grin returned, moving the items to one hand before reaching a hand out and poking Melody gently on the nose. "Thanks Melody! See that’s why you’re here, to keep me on top of things." Melody gave him a look that suggested he had a few seconds to remove himself from her space or be punched. Fabian didn’t really seem bothered or recognize this unspoken threat, though did step back to resume his previous actions. He stored the items away, looking the pokedex over and opting to keep that out. It was an impressive piece of tech from what he understood and was probably going to be useful to him. At some point.

Adder was distracted in thought even when he reached Hoenn, which was perhaps why he didn't notice something flying at him till it was too late. "TreeeEEEE!" Evidently the pokemon didn't notice him, either, as it attempted to swing itself from something nearby, in through the very same door Adder was exiting. The result.... was it flying, and accidentally clinging, to Adder's face. "MmfMMMff!" Adder yelled, his voice muffled, and flailed back, falling mere steps outside the train. He tried to pry the pokemon off, Pengyou looking panicked, and mudkip a bit dumbfounded. Pengyou recovered, crouching uncertainly, trying to figure out how to help, just as Adder whipped out a pokeball and clonked the pokemon on his face with it. He sucked in a huge gasp of air as the pokemon disappeared into the pokeball, glaring, but then blinking when it... dinged. He caught it? He.... caught it? .... What did he catch?

Adder was just pulling himself to his feet and pulling out his pokedex when something else came barreling towards him. He didn't notice it at first, either, though-- it was a shout that pulled his attention up. He jerked his head, frowning as he looked up to see what seemed to be a professor's assistant, frantically running at him and waving his hands to get his attention. "Kid! Catch that torchic!" he shouted. Adder frowned, but lowered his gaze, just in time to quickly dive and snatch up the pokemon frantically running by him. He held on, grimacing as it struggled and chirped frantically, flapping its wings in its attempt to escape. He pulled it in, wrapping a hand around its little feet, and placing his other against its chest, holding it out to avoid getting hit by its wings. "Oh... Thank... Arceus," the assistant panted, catching up and coming to a stop to place his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. Adder stared at him a moment. "... Did it escape?" he muttered, brow furrowing.
The man straightened, looking a bit sheepish. "There was a, uh... incident, yes. However--" Adder cut him off. "Since I caught it, can I keep it?" he asked, immediately jumping on this opportunity, keeping a perfectly flat and monotoned expression. The man blinked, looking very caught offguard. "I mean, better a trainer gets it than you lost it, right?" he pointed out. The man shifted, glancing off to the side. "Ah, well... the professor will be back soon, so..." Adder raised an eyebrow, catching that. "So you lost it? Just say I gave you a rage candybar and you lost that, then," he insisted, "Better you lose that than a pokemon, right?" The man looked back at him, clearly stressed. He kept glancing down at the torchic, as if worrying Adder might just steal it anyway. Which... well yeah he might. Adder stared back at him. Finally, the man sighed, rubbing a hand back over his neck. "I-I suppose... You do seem a capable trainer--"Scoff"-- and it is a bit stronger than the others. It could probably use a trainer with more experience..." Finally, he seemed to concede, giving a nod. "Alright... You can have it..."

After somewhat bullying his way into the lab to use the PC, Adder deposited the two pokemon he had just obtained. He sort of wanted to get rid of the mudkip, too, but... it didn't seem keen on going inside it's pokeball, and it kept giving him this... look, as if it knew he was considering it, and was prepared to fight him if he tried. Besides, he and Pengyou seemed to be... getting along, or something, and he didn't really want to pry them apart just yet. Pengyou was nervous enough as it was... and there wasn't any harm, for now, in letting mudkip tag along. Even if he had to try and keep them both fairly under the radar as he boarded the train, yet again, this time heading for Sinnoh. Maybe there he'd take a break and try the gyms or something... he was getting kind of sick of the train...

Rowan stood a little too carefully. He didn't want to set her off and get attacked, but because of his cautiousness, the houndoom had started growling again. He sighed, there wasn't much else he could do. And he wouldn't let her get ahold of him either. Especially since those teeth set off every alarm he had grown up with. He backed away slowly, leaving a sandwich and the water he had already passed out, and continued until he was a healthy distance away. He finally turned around and started walking with Diaspore and Lithie in tow. He couldn't have them getting out and or lost. That would be horrific, especially with a dangerous fire type around. He stretched a bit, as he headed for the next town, but stopped when his senses started tingling, turning, Rowan saw the houndour running after him, a gem in his maw. Or some sort of stone. He kneeled, hoping the mother wouldn't also be coming, and held his hand out. It was about the size of his hand, and seemed rather heavy too...
He looked up to see Houndoom mom start walking the other direction. Leaving the child with him. Maybe she wasn't doing too well and thought that the Houndour would be best with him? Maybe... Well, that settled that really. "'Ello, little one. D'ya want ta come wit me?" He asked quietly, curiously. The Houndour tilted it's head before barking happily. With a small chuckle, Rowan held out a pokeball, and let the Houndour come to him. Before heading to the next town.

The two young men settled into the train, with Cherish on Trey's lap as the teen looked out the window. "... You named it 'Cherish'?" JR asked after a long silence, flipping through his phone with a stylus in his fingers. He'd caught the name just as he was entering the train, but hadn't bothered to mention it until he got some business, and planning, done. "... Yeh. You gotta problem with tha'?" Trey replied back, surprisingly neutral in tone, despite how defensive his words might have seemed. He gave a very apathetic, nonchalant side look to the man as well.
JR raised an eyebrow, but shrugged. "No, but it is a little weird," he replied simply. Trey shrugged and went back to the window. Criminy, conversation was impossible.

JR sighed and let his head fall back against the seat, dark hair falling over his blue eyes as he looked at the train ceiling. This was just absurd... He wasn't exactly a social person, he was perfectly comfortable with silence the vast majority of the time, but hte degree to which Trevor simply... didn't talk, especially knowing he just as easily could... There was something grating about it. Not irritating, but... compelling, like it was necessary to drag conversation out of him whenever the situation seemed most suited for it. And when better, than during a long train ride to another region?
Glancing at the teen, JR could tell the silence wasn't bothering him; he was absently petting his newly acquired pokemon and looking out the window. Studying his expression, it seemed like he was probably lost in his own thoughts. Maybe thinking over contest routines? For some reason, the image of the two made him think of Wesley, and he pulled out his phone again, while managing to compose a subject to at least try and discuss. One of relevance, at that. "Do you have a plan on where we'll be going first?"

Trey turned his head just enough to slide his grimson gaze over to his companion, who evenly met the look. There was a long silence, but eventually, Trevor looked back to the window. "... Hoenn," he answered unhelpfully. JR frowned, let a few beats pass, then started to speak again, only for Trevor to speak up again and cut him off. "Then we'll go to the closest city to shop, and wash Cherish off," he finished explaining, looking at his watch. He dropped his hand back to his lap, near the gekkit. "We should get some sleep." Jeraldo sighed, reclining back. Fine. That was enough, at least, for him to work with. He could look into a few things from there. And, Trevor was right. The train ride was long enough to get some sleep on, and arrive the next day.

Trevor apparently managed to fall asleep, and Cherish curled up on his lap, his trainer's hand resting on his small body, thumb on his cone as the two slept. JR worked on his phone-palm pilot like hybrid, scheduling up meetings, heists, scoping out targets, items, and possible buyers. He had... almost a business running, honestly. He made most of his money pilfering wanted objects and selling them to select buyers, stealing and selling on the black market, and, if he needed, stealing simple jewelry, deconstructing it, and selling it back as parts or materials, or, occasionally, things he made himself. He had sort of... taken a hiatus on that, to get things sorted out here, but he fully intended to get back into the swing of things now that they were on their way. Part of the deal was that he got to keep going on about his business. Plus.... trains were good for that.
He closed his eyes for about a half hour but didn't really sleep, and when they arrived, he found himself wondering if Trey had, either, as the teen was looking out the window without the slightest hint of grogginess on his face when he opened his eyes-- and he'd seemed sound asleep when he'd closed them thirty minutes ago. Cherish was awake as well, curiously gazing out the window, waiting for the train to release it's passengers. It was odd.... the two seemed so synced, despite having officially become a team, only mere hours ago. If he were a more curious person, JR might have wondered how long they'd known each other previously, but.... he wasn't.

Once passengers were released to get up, get their things, and exit the trainer, JR immediately stood up and slipped into the crowd. Trey let him disappear into his own business, while he moved Cherish off his lap, and reached down to grab his bag. He paused when he noticed something move away under the seat in front of him, disappearing into the shadow. He frowned; Cherish noticed, and gave a chittering gekker in the same direction, his ears perked attentively, and his tail lifted with interest. The teen shot a quick glance to his pokemon, before he stood, picking Cherish up, and moving to wait for an opening to appear in the throng of people.
Cherish awkwardly climbed up to gekker over his shoulder again, back at the seat, like he had with the trees, but moved to get comfortable once they had jostled their way into the group, tucking his tail in and leaning against Trey's chest.
"Where to next?" JR asked as Trevor exited the train. The teen glanced at him to see him casually leaning against the side, and gave him a good, long side look, before turning and resuming walking. "I told ya, the closest city," he replied flatly. Jer pushed off the train and followed along. "So Petalburg?" This was one of those weird moments, where he felt he could read the teen, despite having only known him for a short while. He knew the answer before it came. "Rustboro.""Petalburg's closer," he pointed out. Trevor just responded with his usual silence, and the older man gave a raise of his eyebrows, a slight lift of his gaze, and a shrug of his shoulder. Fine. Rustboro it was. That was where he could do more, anyway. And given what he'd seen as far as shopping went.... he'd had a feeling they'd end up there sooner rather than later, anyway.

Paola was glad there was an open compartment for both her and Piper as the train started to roll right along onto Littleroot town. It was going to be a nice easy ride on the passenger train. She had heard about some kind of battle train and she wasn’t certain if she was a fan. What if your battle made you miss your stop? It sounded more like an inconvenience than something fun. She shrugged before studying her route once more. It hopefully wouldn’t take too long to get to the contest capital of the known world.
She was glad that Piper was willing to listen to her words as they traveled. They hadn't been together long, so the pony's compliance was rather nice. Paola had heard about just how much damage a disobedient pokemon could do and knew even the small fire hirse could cause all kinds of havoc if he wanted to.

“Hm.. Could use a little bit more light…” She muttered before she reached up to adjust the light in the compartment and Piper let out a snort as he looked up at the light which kept her from touching it. “What it is?” There was a soft chiming sound and Paola looked up at the shaded overhead lamp with a raised brow. “Ah! You are hitching a ride, I see.”
The lampet chimed again before she twirled in front of the trainer. She laughed at the rather cheerful pokemon and offered a smile.
“Hey. I’m looking for a dependable light, you in?” Paola asked the purple pokemon as she held out a pokeball for it to boop. There was a moment of hesitation before the offer was accepted and Paola’s pokedex updated. “All right! Free pokemon train beats battle train any day of the week, right Lux?”
The Lampent chimed positive as she gave another twirl before helping Paola take a better look at the map. “Okay. Off to Oldale after this stop. Good thing that I got my new walking shoes.”
Paola perked up when she heard the train call out that they had arrived in Littleroot town. She got to her feet and recalled Lux before putting on her backpack. She helped Piper with his own pack and they started off on their way to the train. There was a mental note by Paola to consider putting some horseshoes on Piper after he evolved.
