Paola grew up on the road, so she struggles to stay in one place for too long. She loves to find new places to go and is always willing to travel. Be it on foot or on the back of a pokemon, there’s almost always a drive for her to get moving. It’s always a good day to her when you have to scrape mud off of your boots. Laughing at thunderstorms and eager to tame white water rapids, she loves to be out in the wild wilderness; as happy in a tent as a five star hotel. It’s not uncommon for her to have to pick out leaves out of her hair at the end of the day.
Oh hi there!
While traveling along with her parents, Paola learned quickly that being friendly will get you far more information and help to find a long forgotten path or a little path to a hidden beach. It’s always nice to find a good place to camp just because you were nice. Her parents taught her to always start out with a kind word and a smile greases the wheels more often than not. It also helped let her learn new skills to add to her ever growing pool of survival knowledge.
Mine! Mine! Mine!
While generous with knowledge and willingness to assist others in need, Paola has a few rules. One: Don’t touch her tent. Two: Don’t touch her camera. Three: Don’t touch her Pokémon. Four: Don’t touch her. Unless someone is given clear permission by her, she will get riled up quicker than a Krookodile without a toothbrush and you can bet she’ll knock your block off if you break these rules.
History:
Growing up, Paola traveled around the pokemon world with her parents as they wrote their travel guides. From region to region, they were ferreting out the best cafes, ideal times for the tides, seasonal treats and the sunniest of days. Constantly on the road, the Mordens didn’t have a large house, but the cottage was littered with knick knacks from all over. It was in this kind of home Paola grew up in. When your home is almost always full of wonder, it’s hard to see the world with a cynical eye. Clothes and customs from around the world were the norm while her parents’ need to travel was an ever growing itch that needed to be scratched. While not totally planned, the Mordens were happy with the new addition. A child had been in the cards; the day hadn’t been planned. It would also let them be able to write about how to travel safely with small children so any bad humor about Paola’s arrival was gone by the time she arrived.
Starting off with travel guides of parks, safari zones, and beaches, the books transitioned from tour guides to family vacation planners then finally survival guides as they traveled the world more and more. Soon Morden books began to get a new audience with rangers and pokemon trainers on the road. The forests of the world are dotted with Morden family tree houses as they staked out local festivals and seasonal events. More than one trainer has been saved by the information in their books.
Paola grew up on the back of her father’s Sawsbuck and mother’s Stantler as they traveled along stirring the urge to move within her along with the ability to keep track of her things. Disposable cameras became her fast friend as they traveled. All of her parents cool friends sent photos so of course Paola had to learn how. Her small flame was fanned into a full on fiery passion as one of her photos was featured in a travel magazine. It was for a junior photographer contest about favorite vacation spots and she turned in a photo of a stunning beach lagoon right at sunrise.
Throwing herself into her new found passion, she didn’t have time to become a Pokémon trainer right then. She found her days being caught up with developing film, saving up to buy new cameras, get better lenses, and the like. However, Paola was starting to chafe under her parents’ gaze, and she decided that now was the time to begin her own journey now. All she needs is a starter and someone to travel with.
