Calliope reached into her blazer's breast pocket, drawing out a business card with her flower logo on it and handed the card to the professor. "Calliope Noire of NOIRE," she said, "It's a pleasure to meet one of your reputation, Professor." Though, a single look at her face was enough to see that she was exaggerating her position a little bit. She followed the man over to each of the pokebals and drew a finger lightly over each one, activating the buttons and releasing them all. "A pleasure to meet you as well, miss Noire, the professor replied with the same cheeriness as before as he accepted the offered card. From there, it was on to the usual bit of business that was handing out a pokemon to new trainers. Professor Oak waited patiently as the woman let out each of the three pokemon to look them over, then smiled when she made her decision. "An excellent choice. I'm sure the two of you will work well together," he said before gathering up the last few things the woman would need. "All that's left is your pokedex and some supplies to start you off." With that, he held out the device in question, as well as some basic potions and pokeballs.

"Thank you, Professor," she said, meeting the old man's gaze. There was something odd there, but she couldn't place it. "Whip, come along..." She recalled the Bulbasaur, then headed for the doors, already filling her head with ideas for what to do next.[-

Umbra walked into the lab with a confident heir about her, her clothes were immaculately prepped as she made her debut as a female pokemon trainer. Ugh, to be honest this was rather humiliating, her step mom had given her the clothes that she was wearing and sent her on her way to see the professor. The clothes were far more feminine that what the former young man would have liked, and the skirt was a little much to get used to. Still, she did her best to allude to the confidence in her skills and abilities that she knew that she had. She didn’t spend all that time in that prodigious school to waste her time or energy on something stupid. She didn’t really want to go to that school at first but damned if she didn’t make the most of it. Umbra gave a stern look around to see if the professor was around before she looked down at her Jolteon that was parked beside her. The Jolteon was a parting gift from her family when the rest of her step siblings all went their own ways to start their own journeys into the world. Admittedly, Jolteon wasn’t Umbra’s first or second pick, but she was over all pleased to have him none the less. She could always get the other eeveelutions later on in her journey and her Step parents said that they would keep an eye open and give them others if they needed them.
But that was far from Umbra’s mind at the moment. She was far more interested in getting her starter and going off on her own quest to get a damn Jirachi so that she could wish herself back to the way that she was… that, and to be the ultimate champion of all the regions. But baby steps were in order and she needed a proper starter and a pokedex first. She really hadn’t given too much thought to what she wanted as far as starters were concerned, but she knew that she should build around the pokemon that she already had so that she could work on covering all her team’s weaknesses. She may have been fairly young, but she was no fool. ”Well, I guess the professor is out in field right now. I guess we wait for him then?” She looked down at her Jolteon who looked up at her with stony silence and a rather bored look on his face. He gave himself a shake and then proceeded to sit down beside his master. Umbra humph’d and crossed her arms over her chest – only to move them lower when she felt that familiar presence that she had a love/hate relationship with.

tabWith the heavy weight of the blade on her back, Lucatiel strolled through Pallet Town in order to reach the lab. Her coat trailed lightly behind her, and a small, silver bar of a baby pin was faintly visible where a button was clearly supposed to be, keeping the "v" it made cover everything up to her collarbones. She was flanked on either side by tall, silver pokemon; one a Gardevoir who's skin was just a few shades short of being human-like, with her dress surprisingly enough, composed of a soft fur--While the other was a tall paledrake, a Dragonite who's empty sockets were completely smooth, relying on a mixture of his own senses and the Gardevoir's own psychic abilities to see. The woman's long hair flowed slightly behind her, the silver locks following with each step. She brushed aside the red tips of her bangs as she approached the door, shortly after another girl entered the distinct building, taking a short breath before stepping through the door herself.
She walked into the room with a confident smile, more than prepared to get a proper start on her journey... Then held back her lips from curling into a Cheshire grin as she came up behind the girl who'd entered before her, her own multi-colored hair being quite the eyecatcher. However, given where they were, she decided to hold off on introductions for a moment, simply holding her hands behind her back and standing almost professionally as she flanked the other girl, glancing around for the professor. "'Ello? I'm here to get my starter," Luca called out, unsure if the professor was even there yet. "I was hoping I could pick up a Bulbasaur."

She hated this. Stepping off the train, Sylva took in a sharp breath, her eyes glowering at the fields before her. She wasn't in the city anymore, but in some backwoods boonies. It wasn't like she liked the city, actually, it was rather refreshing being away from that toxic place. But... It was hot... more like humid. The city offered plenty of places to 'beat the heat' out in the boonies... there weren't any. At least Tiffany was comfortable, hiding in her shadow like always. This was what it meant to be a trainer.. having to harsh the outdoors. She wasn't happy about it, but it meant free food, a free bed to sleep in whenever she managed to find a Pokemon Center. Back home... the very notion of being a trainer or having a Pokemon was shot down before it was even asked. She was free now however... and at her side, her first friend.
Stepping off the waiting platform, Sylva's stepped mirrored the beat of the music she was listening to. She'd be a nervous wreak without her noise canceling headphones perched on her ears or around her neck. Though as soon as the charge ran out, she'd have to listen to her own thoughts... which wasn't always a good thing. Actually, it was never a good thing. By the end of the fourth song, she found herself outside the lab doors. She couldn't really hear any sound coming from within, even after pulling her headphones down and lowering the volume on her music. Looking down to her shadow it'd melded with the shadow of the lab. There was no telling where Tiffany was within the blackness. Whatever the case, the ginger set forward, pushing open the doors.
Not five feet through the door, and Sylva noticed there was already people waiting for the professor. She felt herself tighten up. Did they already take the Pokemon she wanted? She'd come her strictly for a Squirtle. Believe it or not, but now it looked like her choice was growing slim. Then she felt one of her pant legs tighten. Looking down she noticed a Charmander. It was... hugging her leg. The ginger honestly didn't know what to think. She wasn't here for a Charmander after all... but it appeared it maybe though it was? Oh man.. did... did this mean the other starters were taken? He had extras right? Right? there couldn't only be one of each choice right? Leaning down Sylvia picked up the Charmander, much to it's delight, and quickly stepped forward, waiting for the professor to show up so she could return the lizard and ask for a Squirtle instead.

Professor Oak entered the lab, a bit out of breath. "I may be getting too old for field work..." he muttered to himself, catching his breath. He then noticed there were three young looking girls waiting there in his lab. "Ah! Hello there!" he greeted. An assistant informed him that the girl with white and red hair requested a bulbasaur, while the orange haired girl had picked up the charmander that had been wandering the lab. Three trainers, three starters. "Ah, are you three starting a journey all together? How fun! Come along now, let's get you your starters." he told the three, beckoning them to follow him towards the back of the lab. Where there was an oddly colored bulbasaur already out of it's ball, being studied, and a squirtle that seemed to lock on to the girl with black and white hair. The turtle seemed about ready to leap at her happily...

It seemed that Umbra wasn’t the only one who was looking for her starter pokemon today, another young woman came into the lab and joined Umbra in waiting for her starter. Umbra gave the woman a subtle side glance and studied her for a moment, so this was a rival of hers then? Umbra wasn’t sure if she should be worried about her training abilities or not, but she at least looked half ways competent. Though admittedly, Umbra wasn’t sure what she was doing here to get a starter if she already had two final evolution pokemon with her. It seemed almost redundant to come and get a first evolution pokemon like the starters with those two on her team already. But… maybe they were parting gifts like Jolteon was for her? It was always a possibility and perhaps they were still weaker pokemon despite their evolutionary state. She had heard of some breeders being able to hatch pokemon in their adult forms. Umbra honestly didn’t believe a word of it, but she supposed that anything was possible. The woman herself looked rather wild and semi-unkempt, though not at all frumpy with her appearance. She had a big grin on her face that Umbra took as excitement over getting her starter, but that raised another question for Umbra. This woman looked rather old to be starting her first pokemon journey, if Umbra had to peg and age for her she looked anywhere between 18 to 25 at the absolute oldest. Maybe she was a part of one of those families that valued education more than letting their children go their own way, or maybe she was trying some other profession and decided that it wasn’t for her and decided to give training a go? It was possible, like so many other things in this world there were probably a lot of reasons that could have led her to a later start for pokemon journeying.
Like maybe someone wished that she was older using a Jirachi or something…
By the time that Umbra was sizing up the red-head, another girl walked in who looked far more… flighty? She looked like she was more than anxious to get the hell out of here. Maybe she had some social anxieties or something? It was hard to say, but by the looks of things, a Charmander had chosen her to be their partner. Something of a rare occurrence in the world, even if the other girl didn’t want that charmander, Umbra had a feeling that if she did decide to take up the fire lizard that she was going to have a very hard working and very loyal companion by her side. Again, Umbra found herself among someone who seemed to be getting a late start in their pokemon journey. Now Umbra herself may have been a few years older than the usual starting age for a trainer but she had a few good excuses for doing so. Not that these girls didn’t, but it made Umbra feel like she was the odd one out when it came to collecting her pokemon at such a ‘tender age’. It couldn’t be helped, she guessed, but it was still one more rival for her to overcome and beat out, granted, this one looked as though she didn’t have much - if any- experience with Pokemon.
It was about then that Professor Oak came through the door, winded and looking rather flush from what Umbra guessed was some field work. The poor old fart needed to find someone who was a little younger to do this sort of thing, hell, it could be the hazing that weeded out the weak from the strong in the assistant world. Umbra turned to face him and placed a hand on her hip while she brought her hand up and gave her hair a rather arrogant flip. ”Hello Professor Oak, I’m Umbra and I’m here for my starter pokemon.” Umbra quirked an eyebrow at the professors musings about the three strangers gathered together to form a traveling party. Didn’t that defeat the purpose of going on an adventure in the first place? Bah, she supposed that every journey was different and this might not have been all that unusual, but seeing as the age range for the gathered gang of girls was pretty different from each other she would have assumed that they were all going on their separate journeys. Granted, she supposed that it could easily be assumed that an older sister was traveling with her younger one, or that two friends were getting a younger sibling started. That made sense, she supposed, but that was neither here nor there. She wanted her pokemon so that she could finally get started.
Umbra followed the professor to the back where he introduced them to the pokemon that they were going to help them on their journey. It appeared as though the decision was already made for her – with the pair of red heads already taken up their chosen pokemon. It wasn’t a heartbreaking decision for Umbra, she really didn’t have any set plan on which pokemon she got anyway. ”Well, seeing as the Bulbasaur and Charmander seemingly have been called dibs on, I’ll take the –“ Umbra didn’t get to finish her sentence as a furry tailed Squirtle impacted her face and latched onto it with a ferocity that Umbra could never have anticipated. Her words became muffled as the hard under belly of the pokemon was forced into her face and pulled tight. The force threw Umbra off balance and the poised and dignified young woman found a rather graceless and undignified sprawl on the floor. The Squirtle rubbed its head affectionately against the top of her skull while Umbra laid there motionless and recovering from the unexpected impact. A few seconds later her arms flailed and she grabbed her over enthusiastic companion by the sides and pulled them away. There was a deep, gasp of breath as Umbra took in some precious oxygen that was denied to her. Jolteon looked on with a rather bored expression, though leaned over slightly and sniffed at the Squirtle before pulling back to his original position and yawning. Umbra stood up, the Squirtle now hugging her chest as she did so, and cleared her throat while trying to calm her blush and organize her hair into previously proper order. She tried to brush off that little awkward moment as nothing before looking to the professor once more. ”Yes… well… regardless I suppose I have chosen my pokemon.” Now she wanted her pokedex so she could get out of there as soon as possible in order to locate the nearest, smallest hole and hide for the rest of her miserable life.

tabLuca quietly waited for a response as lab assistants were busy with various tasks around the lab, simply shrugging when there was nothing from the professor himself. She seemed relatively unconcerned with the younger girl sizing her up, less than interested in outright rivalries than experiencing what the world had to offer. Her pokemon seemed just as quiet, though the Dragonite looked at her curiously, with his eyeless gaze. That gaze then turned to the ginger who entered soon after, the dragon-type tilting his head slightly before Luca tapped him lightly, gesturing for him to stop staring. Fortunately, just then, the professor finally arrived, musing about the three starting their journeys that simply got a playful chuckle out of her.
However, when the older gentleman asked her to follow, she, Umbra, and presumably Sylva did just that, until they came into the back where all three were lined up. Or, where they were meant to be, at least, as the Charmander had already wandered off and apparently picked the ginger herself. Luca already wanted the Bulbasaur, but her grin widened noticeably as she saw the odd coloration it had. "Yeah, I'll be picking up the Bulbasaur," she confirmed, moving out of the way when the Squirtle tackled the younger girl to the floor, letting out a less-than-subdued chuckle before the assistants dispersed, allowing her to pick up her starter.
The Bulbasaur looked at her curiously, and wriggled its short legs as if it wanted something from her, but in general it seemed he was happy to meat his new trainer. Luca shook her head as that though briefly passed through her mind, before she turned the grass-type around, and sat him down on her head experimentally. He let out a pleased cry before hugging her head, prompting another small bit of laughter as the woman lowered her hands, letting her starter freely ride on her head like a hat. "Yeah, just fine." Now, she turned back to the professor, knowing that there were still a few more important things she needed before she could head out--Namely, a pokedex registered in her name.

Professor Oak tried not to chuckle as the squirtle chose it's trainer by basically tackling her face. The turtle certainly seemed quite affectionate. Once the red headed girl took the bulbasaur, it seemed like they all had their starter. "Well then! You all look just about ready to go!" he commented, though he was aware he still needed to give them out pokedexes and the other usual things. It worked out just perfectly now, didn't it? Oblivious to the possibility that the orange haired girl didn't want the charmander, the professor already passed out each starter's respective pokeball and soon after, a pokedex for each of the trainers. "Here you are. A pokedex of your very own. Once you input your name, you'll be registered trainers! Also, feel free to take some pokeballs and potions on your way out!" he smiled after handing out the pokedexes. His assistants would handle dishing out pokeballs and potions. The professor seemed about done here now that his job was done. "Be safe out there!" Oak told them before going off to sit down. He really needed the rest.

Stepping up behind the two other girls in the room, Sylva quickly got the feeling she was being observed. She did her best to ignore the girl with the black and white hair, while her grip on the charmander tightened. It didn't seem to mind, happily rubbing it's cheek on Sylva's arm. To tell the truth the feeling the scales was kind of nice.. and well, she wasn't against fire-types really, it just... She wanted a Squirtle badly, for whatever reason. It then happened, Oak appeared, he spoke, but Sylva just couldn't get a word in edgewise as he lead the trio to where the starters were bing held. The Squirtle quickly choose the black and white haired girl, while the girl with red and white hair choose the Bulbasaur. "Is there-" She tried to speak up, but she was cut off by Oak's explination of the Pokedex. Damnit.. she was stuck with the Charmander wasn't she? Well... she'd just have to make the best of this situation. "Whatever... I'll call you Leirsa." Sylva muttered. The Charmander squeaked in glee at the subject of a nickname.Adjusting the lizard in her arms, she gathered the Pokeballs and potions that were offered. She'd need them after all. Whatever the case it seemed she was set, so the red-head quickly began to turn and leave.

Umbra took a moment to register her name in her pokedex, occasionally looking down and frowning as she tried to adjust around the squirtle who was quite attached to her – in more ways than one. When the professor gave her the pokeball she returned the Squirtle and placed it on her belt. Good grief, this was off to an interesting start, wasn’t it? Umbra finished up her registration and gathered up her offered pokeballs and potions that the Professor graciously gave them to start their journey with. ”Thank you Professor.” it was a simple and quick thanks but it should serve its purpose as she made her way out of the Professors lab and into the real world once again. She recalled her Jolteon into its pokeball and pondered over where she should start first. Originally, she was going to take things fairly slow and do things right, but now that she had a pair of rivals that she was apparently going to be competing with, she thought that it would be best to hit the ground running, so to speak. She supposed that the best place to start looking for decently strong pokemon that weren’t going to immediately knock her inexperienced pokemon out. The routes between Pallet town and the next town over would do the trick.

She entered each input with one hand while the other was dedicated to putting away the numerous pokeballs and potions the Professor gave them to start their journey, wrapping up at about the same time as the other two. "Alright everyone, let's head out," She declared, patting her starter lightly before returning her other two pokemon for a short rest, promptly following the other girls out the door. As she walked to the door, an idea clicked fully in her head thanks to Oak's suggestion, and she hurried along a bit to close the distance between her, Umbra, and Sylva. Exiting the lab, she called to both of them, her confident grin still on her face. "Hey, you two! Wait up a second."

Azalea watched from the roof of the lab as three trainers came in one after another to get their starter pokemon. Right when she had been hoping to infiltrate the area too.... A pity, but it seemed for now she would have to wait. Not that she would have minded knocking the extras out too, but it was more work, and she knew Void wanted as few potential witnesses as possible to anything she did, even if it wasn't a specified mission, so she may as well kick back and wait for the other trainers to leave. It felt nice up here anyways. With a light sigh, Azalea lay back, stretching out on the roof with her hands folded behind her head. Lavender floated over her, looking at Azalea with a perplexed expression. She was eager to start their little mission, but it was clear that Azalea was not. "Relax," Azalea suggested to the gastly. "There's no rush." She closed her eyes, listening, waiting. Eventually the doors to the lab would open again, and the three trainers would run out with their new starter pokemon, and Azalea could come in for the kill.
Lavender grumbled a bit. They'd been stuck at their station for weeks with Azalea doing little more than hanging from the couch and watching TV with Grayson again. Now that she was finally inspired to get up and do something for entertainment, Lavender had been rather excited to be an integral part of it, until now when Azalea decided to lay back and rest for a bit. Azalea opened an eye to see the gastly staring at her intently, and let out a sigh. "Fine. If you want to start around the edges then go ahead. Just don't get caught and expect me to save your sorry a**." She explained dully. It was enough to please Lavender though, who sunk into the building below and disappeared. Shortly after, Azalea saw the three other trainers leave the lab and make their way out of Pallet town, which was Lavender's cue to start taking out the lab aides around the interior. After a few more minutes, Lavender reappeared on the roof, signaling Azalea that all of the people inside the lab were now unconscious. With a nod, Azalea fashioned her gas mask over her face before climbing down and entering the laboratory. First she assessed the room, and the damage Lavender had done. It seemed that everyone was unconscious, so Azalea stuck her hands in her pockets, leisurely making her way down the hall towards her prize; a bulbasaur.
Once she had retrieved the pokemon she came for, Azalea thought it would be a shame not to take advantage of the time she still had left before the people in the lab started to wake up again, and these lab walls were so dreadfully blank and dull looking for being based in a town named after a color pallet. Azalea took out some of her paint cans, shaking them up a bit before going to work on the walls. A spray here and a spray there, a little bit of detail work, and she managed to craft her signature tag. There was still a lot of time left, though.... Maybe she could make a color pallet for them....? She moved over some to inspect the other walls, but stopped by a passed out professor Oak, looking down on his position on the floor for a moment. "Don't take this personally." She mused aloud, tilting her head a bit to one side before spraying a rainbow on the wall beside him. There, now she could leave.
The elderly man had been absentmindedly going over various research notes as his aides fell to the floor or slumped over, too engrossed in his study to realize what was going on. He mumbled to himself and mused the kind of adventures a trio of three friends would have starting together. Something caught the corner of his eye though as he felt a sudden chill, which then rocked his entire body and his vision went purple, before darkening into black. The professor began to choke and reached for whatever was covering his head, but all he did was grasp at the empty air when they phased through the Gastly. Eventually, the gas filling his lungs was too much, and he began to lose consciousness, his mind fading to black as his body slumped over the table in front of him, before he fell to the floor.
Some time later, he awoke to the fervent shakes of a distressed lab assistant, rising from the ground with a groan as the aide helped him up. "I'm fine, I'm fine... What happened? Is everyone alright?" Happy to have sight again, he looked around the room while also taking a good, deep helping of fresh air, seeing various of the other lab aides running around looking for anything that was stolen, though at a glance Oak only noticed a missing pokeball, pokedex, and some missing items intended for new trainers. However, his eyes were eventually directed to the symbol spray painted on the wall, evidently some kind of calling card like all the old criminals used to do in books and movies... He was kind of surprised that anyone looking to escape undetected would actively leave a definitive trace back to them. He'd have to make a note to the officers to check for prints whenever they came by.
However, his attention was then caught by the "art" beside him, a simple rainbow of colors painted on the wall by where he'd passed out at. He raised a brow and scratched his head, seemingly more perplexed by this sight than anything else. Thinking aloud, perhaps out of his old age more than anything else, he mused a thought that came through his head. "I wonder if they'd confused me for someone else..."
