Alert! A Hacker has been located! He has begun to kill players, and has hacked the console to recover his health and heighten his skills. Anyone responding should be use extreme caution. He has killed three players so far, and seems to be roaming the Gloomwood to find low-level players to fight. The character is level 5, but his hacked abilities make him extremely dangerous.

As you raise your pick to make another strike, the stone begins to glow and change before your eyes. The large cube dissolves and reforms into a small sort of egg shape, made of a dark gray sort of metal. It is about a foot tall, and carved with intricate runes that cover its surface seamlessly. As you wonder what this might be, the egg begins to move.
Slowly, at first, it begins to shiver and quake. Soon, it is positively rocking in place, and it begins to crack, along several smooth lines. The egg breaks open and begins to rearrange itself into a new shape.
What is left is a small, three foot tall, brutish-looking golem, made of intricately engraved metal, with eyes like liquid mercury. It looks up to you and smiles with a mouth composed of hundreds of metal teeth, made apparently for grinding. In its chest is a small orb, similar to the one you found before, but not quite the same size, being a little smaller.
Congratulations! You have discovered the Gloomiron Golem! This Golem is a non-combat pet, and does not take up a slot as a combat pet would. This pet is treated as small furniture for the purposes of housing, and can otherwise follow its owner around in the field. If placed in a home, the Gloomiron Golem will leave the house while its master is away and harvest materials from the Gloomwood's stone reserves. While accompanying its master, it will only be able to help mine while its master is mining by punching the stone with its metal fists.

The Golem seems interested in the ~Mysterious Carved Orb~ that you are holding, and reaches out for it. If you give the Golem the orb, it will take it and begin leading you toward the Gloomweave Cave. If you wish to continue the quest, you will need to enter the Cave and clear it.
