((Your post has been deleted. Instead of waiting for my response to your PM, you decided to power play your way out of cells that you had no information on, didn't bother to acknowledge the fact that Gerdane was still watching the cells and only the fodder guards were gone, nor the fact that these cages are literally the walls of the Arena's ground floor... meaning they are less than 60 feet from Krayth and the others and in plain sight of them, the other ranked guards who Drake can't see, and the enfilade of other guards who never left their post overseeing the totems controlling the cages, which Drake STILL knows nothing about, how to operate them, or even how to speak the words to open them [which are not Ta'rook Seishal]. You are warned, and Jacky has informed me that you are no longer permitted the use of Drake as a ranked guard with skills for the duration of his capture. Trust me, this is a much better alternative than watching this squad of your get slaughtered as they try to pretend away the hive of tribesmen around them.))

The Lord of The Desert's eyes burned through Kinetav as he spoke; the Anima's posture hunched and still though his figure shook in slight tremors. He gasped violently at Areth's words, as they broke him from that spell of bestial hate and rage. He had not taken a breath since he'd begun, He didn't look back to her -not then- but water welled in Krayth's eyes as he clutched his mouth in his empty hand. Beyruun spoke for him, and as the Exodus did the Anima's fingers clenched tighter over his face as if to hold back a building flood. "He called Grix a child, boy... he said he would not allow us to harm an innocent youth. The Reaper said it would be murder."

Krayth's fingers slipped as his jaw open, their tips moving from his open mouth as he could not contain the sound. A laugh? A sob. The sound one makes faced with total desolation, looking back on the absurdity of the charade that brought it on. The Void Lord turned his face away, and for a brief moment his eyes found those Legionaires in their cages. Gerdane, his eyes turned towards them... and another, iron clad arms folded over his chest, watching from above. Some instinct cause him to try and catch the first tears before they hit the floor, but he failed. They passed through the grating below, and into darkness. "Grix brought all of this suffering to Rykros... he twisted Vincent and he in turn twisted three women. They spread plague over Rykros... their poison mutated the flesh of living and dead alike. Their armies murdered with abandon, and why? So this child could have a new world to play in." The sound came again. He could not help it. His strangled laughter was more haunting than words can say.

"All of this. My love, my people, Ivy, Glacia, Sephra,Entire nations are in ruin because of Grix... all because of him... protected by a Reaper. Protected by one who claims to defend life." Beyruun finished its brother's words, for the Anima could not continue.

”If you thought Hell was frightening….”

*Kinetav's eyes returned to their normal steel-grey countenance at the words of Areth, even though the words were not directed towards him; he cursed under his breath, realizing that once again he had let the natural hate of his bloodline churn sorrow to anger and anger to near action...he knew he had to get stronger in order to fight off these urges to do rash decisions. Despite the fact that his curiousity as to why Srin would do all this was killing him, Kinetav looked back at the cages with Krayth and imagined them still in their armor; crimson red, war machines, almost as if they did not feel, and if their hatred would consume them in a moment's heat just like the Anima hatred consumed Kinetav. Yet he knew not to be too hard on himself, even the Elder Anima giving into the hatred alongside him and having to be cooled off by another. He did not wish to be like those Legionaires, even their expressions hidden underneath a suit of armor all the time for fear of attack or reprieve unless their armor was ripped off...Led into insanity by a Leader who risked their lives so rashly.

Sighing, the anima's gauntleted hands slowly rose upwards towards his vizor, unstrapping the armor carefully before removing the vizor and dropping it with an unceremonious thud as it hit the arena floor. All of the wilders who were still around and were already facing Kinetav took one look, and one look only before moving on with their lives, not phased in the slightest by Kinetav's appearance. He was in his early twenties, and his white hair flowed down just beyond his ears and a good half inch down his forehead, his features fair and his dark-skinned face clean shaved. The Anima took a deep breath and smiled, reveling in the fact that unlike his old planet, he could look upon everything without always hiding his face and expression. He could finally go back to the old style of wearing his mask only in combat, dangerous weather conditions, harsh terrains, or to hide amongst the crowds... Kinetav knew that he was in a place where his kind was accepted, and even ruled there.

After a minute of purely enjoying the moment, Kinetav refocused on the task at hand, his grin disappearing as he placed a hand on his Voidsworn brother's shoulder, the elder anima finally able to see his face and expression for the first time. Kinetav wore a serious look on his face, the gleam in his eyes a mix of sorrow and sincerity as he spoke:*

"Brother...you know that we Anima offer a horrible death for those struck down by our blades as is...permanent rest in our Exodus, their souls trapped and at our disposal to strengthen us and give us new knowledge of all their memories...only at our death for all of the souls, ours included, to be cast into unlife in the Void, and all of us Voidsworn here know what it's like to be in the Void for a moment, let alone a lifetime. But at least we do not twist the souls that we capture against their own flesh and cause them to murder their own kind. I trust you, Krayth, simply because you are Voidsworn and that is the biggest bond beside Nox'Falam that we have... and if Srin does indeed protect Grix, and Grix indeed did all of this pain... then we will get to the bottom of this and even stop him if Srin continues. If it is indeed proven that Srin is guilty and unable to be changed...then you have my gauntlets, and whatever information they hold and the ability to hack into any system at your side as support. I will help you protect the innocent, Krayth, and give justice to those who need it, whether from the Citadel or from the Desert...but you are right. I am not like those Legionaires, nor do I want to be...If Srin is just as hardharded, blind, and stubborn as that Draconian marine in the cell over there, then I want no part of the Citadel save for marching alongside the Devil's Eye Desert people into it and taking out Grix and his protectors if this god has caused rivers of blood as you say."

The Void Lord hid his eyes in the crease of his jacket's sleeve then drew it away. This was unlike him, but he had not been himself for some time. The ghosts of his happiness and contentment haunted his every breath, and the knowledge that he could have saved so many lives by simply burning the olive branch in the past was an onus that was unbearable. It was too late for that now. War could not beget war. He could not doom his people to more death and genocide. They needed peace, and a Lord who could lead them to it... and this cause such anguish in him that he wished to simply die. Everything seemed hopeless.

He shut his eyes and took a deep, tremulous breath. Beyruun hissed in his mind against his thoughts of despair. You are no child! We are mighty! Take what you need to make this right, or never raise me again! The fiercely independent declaration of his Exodus was almost shocking, and certainly sobering. Krayth raised Beyruun to the level of his eyes; his gaze flitting back to Kinetav as Beyruun became not a weapon, but a crown. As black and fanged as the teeth of twilight, Beyruun's misty core was set in its center, to rest against his forehead when worn. How can I make any of this right? How can we hope to achieve any goal? Without her, I--YOU ARE A KING OF SHADOWS, BROTHER! You are as you were before her, and all your life. The bloody bringer of justice, and avenger of the slain. Wash yourself of the filth inside your heart. Spite Besrim by becoming what he could not. Be soothing shade, not blinding darkness! Be King, or be all that Halgar wished you to become!"

The Anima's face softened. The hysteria in his eyes dwindled to embers. Though his breath hitched in his throat, he raised the crown over him. Gerdane watched form afar. Those wilders who remained present did the same. Above them, on the floor above the cages amongst a score of others, a Reaper nodded in silence. He set the crown upon the gore stained tangles of his hair, and it weighed nothing. The sigh that escaped him was a rush of wind; a mountain of weight thrown from his back, but his grief remained. He doubted it would ever leave him... and in the sad truth, that was good. He would never forget.

"Kinetav, give me The Guardian's card."

He held out his hand, palm open and fingers spread.

”If you thought Hell was frightening….”

*Kinetav's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, the Void Lord seeming to change his thoughts radically time and time again; at last Krayth seemed to hone in a resolve as his Exodus turned into the strangest form...a crown. The Elder Animed donned it, the wilders and tribesmen around him seeming to enjoy the motion, and yet Kinetav only knew that the card was being asked for. None the less, as a fledgling Voidsworn, he did as he was told, pulling out the black card from his belt. He flipped it over in his hands, looking down at it with almost a desire as the possibilities endless and yet knowing that it was not the right thing to do. In the end, Kinetav simply put it into Krayth's outstretched palm silently and withdrew his gauntlet. His arms fell to the side as he awaited Krayth's next move.*

"There is only evil in action,

Lady Liliana of Ernya, Sage Elementalist

Liliana had been quietly listening nearby to the exchange between Kinetav and Krayth. It seemed the Portals were once again active, if Kinetav's account was right. "War on the Citadel will bring no relief of Grix's plans," Liliana said quietly, walking over. "We've managed to locate an island though. One spoke in legends and myths to house the souls of the four god children. We originally set for there some time ago but were called back from our search with The Plague Lord destroying our people. Maybe with this current blow to Vincent, we can look again while he regroups. If we can bring down Grix's power, we can take away Vincent's power at the same time." Liliana looked at Krayth with sadness. "Without more unneeded bloodshed."

Krayth curled his fingers over the black card, and looked out towards the Legionaires. When Liliana spoke, he answered. "Yes, tomorrow we should move while we have time. There will be no war on The Citadel. It is their Lord who will answer for his actions. Kinetav, come with me."

The elder moved forward, and raised his hand up towards the Reaper above. The figure saw the gesture and turned to the tribesmen with him, speaking something before he vaulted over the stone banister before him and landed on his feet below. The Arena's metal floor clanged with his impact, and as they got closer his features would be more defined in the torchlight. He had a sharp featured face topped by long sandy straw hair, cut back on the sides and top. His eyes were silver and gentle, but it was the mark on his chest that would draw all of the attention. At his neck and sternum were gruesome burn marks, skin irreparably blackened and bubbled in the outline of a cross. There, where a Crimson Cross had been, were jagged knife wounds dug into his flesh to the barely healed bone. The scarification went all the way around his neck, a noose that could never be lifted from his flesh. The Reaper moved towards the Legion's cages and Gerdane stood at attention.

Krayth stopped before the Draconian's cell, and held up the black card, out of reach. The Reaper stood alongside Krayth. His gauntlets were folded over his chiseled bare chest, leaving the mark of his betrayal for all to see. He did not speak - judging by the wounds at his neck, it was possible that he could not- but his eyes showed no shame or regret in the presence of his former comrades.

When Krayth spoke, his tone was unyielding and fearless. "You and your number claims to act with honor, and I will not contest it. You are all free to go. You will not be harmed, but you -will- leave. Your weapons and armor belong to the the tribes now, and you will not have them back. This card?" The Anima took it in both hands, and crushed it. He cast its shards aside as he continued. "It belongs to no one. I will not take your secrets, but you will not keep them. You will be blindfolded and escorted to the edge of Wormwood Swamp, where you will be released and given spears to fend for yourselves until you reach The Citadel." Gerdane seemed surprised, but stepped away from the cages and called to the guards above.

"When you return, tell Lord Srin that The Legion is forbidden to travel through my lands. Any who come from The Citadel bearing your Cross, Armor, Weapons or Colors will be killed. If he wishes to send an emissary, it will be a citizen of The Citadel and not The Legion. This is my warning to him and your brethren. I give it for the sake of my people and yours. Do not fail to deliver it."

Two dozen tribesmen appeared at the Arena's entrance and approached the cells. Their weapons were not drawn, but their hands were ready to wield them. In each group there was one with a long black cut of fabric. They positioned themselves in groups of four in front of each cell except The Draconians, where they waited for their Lord to finish speaking. The cavern was once more filled with low rumbling, Krayth offered a final statement. "Srin will see me after the war is over. You have my word." With that, he moved away and the four guards meant for Drake stepped up to the door. The rogue Reaper stepped back as well to make room for Gerdane, who came back barking orders. "Your cages will open one at a time, starting with yours Drakul. Step out with your hands at your sides, and do not resit the blindfold. Do you understand?"

Drake eyes widen, he sees the reaped before him and snarls."You weak b*****d! How dare you leave us! If the Marshall ever finds you I hope he males you go insane! The cross may no longer be around you neck but he can destroy your mind!" He saw the cage open and his snarl became louder. He slowly walks out with his arms at his side and slowly becomes blindfolded"This man shows enough honor to allow us to live... we thank you. We never came to cause harm, but you must understand that we do not worship Grix.. are Lord says one thing but he has his reasons..." his tail flicks back and forth."Reaper, the Core will told of this.... If you do not fill you duties as reaper here than you will have two sides wanting to kill you boy..." He stands up straight and grunts."Boys let them do it... we need to return to our homes. Peace have failed today..." the other legion men come out as they glare at the reaper. Some of them mummble words of hate as they got blindfolded

The Reaper remained silent as Drake spoke. After he was blind folded, the other gates systematically began to unlock, and the Legionaires were ushered out and blindfolded in turn. It was only then that the rogue Reaper opened his mouth. What came out was a coarse and throaty whisper barely audible over the grinding that echoed through the chamber. "The Grand Marshall gave me no choice. His command to slaughter The Organization went against everything a true Reaper treasures. If the Grand Marshall would strike me mad, he would betray his kind more than I ever betrayed The Legion...

He turned away, back to the center of the Arena. The corpses of both Dashyk and Sephra remained untended. He gestured to another wilder, and began to gather the slain Falcyr's body.

Drake laughs for awhile."Those cloak wearing wanna-bes ? You reapers always say that life must go on right? Losing a few people will not effect the cycle of Life..." his legion skill that allowed him to see energy slowly came on so he could atleast look his direction."All Reapers have different out look to how it can move on. Our Lord has his reasons for everything! You should know that. If you would had simply asked our lord for his re-taking of OUR home than maybe you could be saved... But your soul belongs to her..." he said with a hiss. He looks back a guards."Lets go... we wish to go home. It bad enough we lost a brother but its worst to see a Reaper be a coward... What happen to their pride"

Dark Avenger | Anima | Trainee | The Citadel

User ImageUser Image

*Kinetav approached the cells with Krayth, the secrets of the card demolished before his very eyes; sighing, he turned his attention back towards the matter at hand as each of the Legionaires was blindfolded to be sent to a place where Kinetav had never heard of before. the Anima saw a Reaper come up and the others began to scold him viciously, Kinetav instantly barking back out:*

"Just because he is a Reaper does not mean that he has to be Legion or stay Legion! You all try to pair up race and faction...how dare you! Go back and tell Lord Srin that if he wants to see his now-trainee ever again, he will have to physically find me or send someone who's coolheaded enough to actually have a spark of rationality in their brains instead of a Guardian like you who hates based on race alone. Anima are a hundred times more hated where I come from, and you'd do yourself a favor by biting your tongue."

*Kinetav turned and walked away, his boots hitting the still blood stained floor of the arena as he walked up to the blind woman called Liliana; with the Legionaires going away, and the Guardian's card destroyed, he had only one more option as the Anima stared into the milky blind eyes of the woman. At last falling to his knees in a humbling gesture, he let his hair fall down around his face as his head turned towards the ground. He had one request, but it was no small request, humbling himself as he knew full well that he was asking her to recall painful memories:*

"Liliana....you see nothing, and yet know everything. You see through deceit, and seem to know truth...And you can send mental words through my head. Can you send pictures mentally too, so that I may know all about this situation? Grix, Plague, Legion, Srin, factions, bloodlines, classes, continents...send it all my way, please... Even if I pass out like that other blind woman did at Krayth's thoughts, I will wake up a new man full of wisdom and conviction if only your knowledge would fill my mind."

Krayth kept his back turned to the Legionaires and the others. None of their words garnered a reaction from him. The Anima's path took him back to Areth, whom he asked "Are you ready for your first test?" When Kinetav asked for Liliana's aid in seeing what had happened, he stiffened somewhat, but did not speak. It would require memories. His, or Liliana's. He could not relive it again. Two witness everything twice in his life had brought him to a certain edge. All of the wounds he'd forgotten had returned. He endured, but the thought of reliving it once again... it was enough to shake him to his core.

The Reaper did not turn to the Legion as they mocked him. He shut his eyes and took Dashyk's head in hand, corpse already raised under his arm. There was a soft sadness veiled over his face, and a solemn humbleness within him. With the aid of the other wilder, they moved the deceased away and out of sight.

Gerdane and the other 23 remained with Drake and the Legionaires. Once they were all blind folded, Gerdane moved to the head of the group and the tribesmen had the captives line up, one hand on the shoulder of the comrade before them. When they were ready, the wilders moved in against their sides, all eyes watching as they were marched from the Arena, and out of the city.

Reaching down, Liliana helped Kinetav to his feet. "There's no need to do that before me. You are a being, like anyone else here," she said gently. "You ask for powerful and dark things to be given into your mind, Kinetav. Maybe we should go somewhere and talk a while instead, if you don't object?" She had the full ability to do as he asked but not as quickly as he would want. It was power overload, not memories themselves, that could burn out a non-Seer's mind. It's why she almost never forced information in either direction through another's mind. The broken minds of Ivy and Glacia were both proof of that. As well as the others from her own past. "It will lessen what will need to be shown to you."
