I'm writing about a Christian girl in her senior year, trying to get through the struggles of her family, and the major drama at high school, where she meets an artist boy (Christian as well) who begins to teach her about true love and purity... yada yada yada. In short, a chick book. lol ^.^'
The first time I've ever written something like that. It's kinda fun, actually, to try it out.

Thanks Princess I do try every day ^^' I think I'm averaging around 2.5k words a day.. calculated that a bit ago though
I'm writing the third book in a series I'm doing.. We started with the matchmaker from a city.. then the second book was when her apprentice came into being a full-fledged matchmaker.. Now it's the apprentice's turn to pick a mate for the next ruler of the country .. life, death, love ... and taking control of your own destiny

I'm writing about a detective (drunk, angry, mourning the loss of his wife and daughter several years before) who somehow ends up in the underwater city of Glory while trying to commit suicide. There he finds a small girl who's father has gone missing,(and he may be the cause of a mass plot to kill the city's inhabitants). The detective must find out how to get to the bad guy, and stop him - and look for his daughter (who apparently might be down in the city after all) in the process. Also there's a pretty woman. : D

I wrote about a group of people in the middle of a flight who get abducted by aliens and are put on a planet to see how habitable it is. The aliens are just looking for a new home, and need test subjects to try different places out for them. So my group of people must learn how to survive on the planet (inhabited with reptile-like creatures) with basically nothing but what they have in their carry-on bags.

You guys are so exciting! I would read every single one of those stories! (Aurin, I'm on a bit of an alien rampage right now). I'm thinking about doing my own thing during December, cause I don't want to wait a whole year for another NaNoWiMo.
Way to go everyone!
And I'm happy to see people actually saw my post... since it was at the bottom of the last page.

Mine's about my trip from Oregon to Minnesota, flanderized in the best ways possible. It's more humor than anything else.
Except, I'm so tempted to give it up. It's really not interesting to me, and I don't like having to base everything on truth. Last year I picked purely fantasy just because I knew I had to be able to twist things around. -Le sigh- I'd give up this year if it weren't for the fact that my pride won't let me.

Eek, Chezhire, I don't know if I could write a story based on real facts. Especially not my own life, no matter how much I love it. Part of the thrill of writing to me is coming up with the plot line, and finding new, more exciting things to throw in. Thats not exactly something that can happen when you're basing it on a real event.
But, I am here to root you on. After all, we all love a funny story.

That's exactly my problem, Neusch- can I call you Princess? Spelling isn't my forte. xD I love making up plot lines, devising new characters and everything like that. I picked it purely because my mom really wanted to see what I would do with it. /ultimate Momma's girl. xD
Thanks for the vote of confidence, though!

Heh I tried writing real.. and it died after about half a page xD; I am so boring lol But yes, huzzah for those who can! I'm about done with the book for NaNo.. so I'm going to go back to my other ones. I'm not sure which though.. ack new story itching away at my brain.. @.@ no fair.. I want to finish one of the other dozen or so that I still have to doooo..
It's about a guy with extremely bad luck.. not so much him causing bad things, but some otherworldly force deciding to make his life hell every single moment.. Watch out for everything! Anyone have suggestions for innocuous ways to get seriously hurt?

Chan, what do you mean by 'innocuous ways to get seriously hurt'? Innocuous means 'not harmful', doesn't it? Or does it mean not obvious? /ditz. xD Sorry, I get confused easily, and I really wanna help with ways to hurt someone.

Yes.. I meant it that way ^^; Just like.. something little that wouldn't usually be something bad.. like getting a papercut.. It's hurtful, some more than others.. but you're not going to get into the hospital because of one unless something bad falls on top of it to make it worse (like lemon juice on a papercut) I think it's lack of sleep but I want to do like that 1001 ways to die list.. but not actually kill the main character

Chezhire, I know my name is complicated. Princess is fine- its what most people call me. I'm all about my mom too. I'm doing a NaNoWriMo sort of thing for December- just cause my mother said I should. I guess its good for us that our mothers encourage our writing.
Chanthar, I only have one suggestion- he could always be clipping his elbows on corners, or something like that. I always hit my knees on the edge of the desk when I get up from the computer. (Then, of course, I have to hit it back). Have you seen 'Just my Luck'? Thats a great show about bad luck.
Sapphirianna, you should keep going! Don't stop now! You'll feel so good when you get 50k words done! You still have... one week or so? Get it done!

I almost gave up. I didn't write for about three days in a row, but then today I came home from school and was just like "k, so I need to write 2.8k every day or I'll fail," and then I just started writing. 5k later, I stopped. So yeah, less than 15k in 6 days. I've done about that much in one day before, so I should be fine now.
My novel's about these kids that get taken to a desert island thingy and start getting killed slowly. Only, the people killing them take videos of it and stuff, and put it on the Internet. And they break into the compound and find the website that the snuff videos are put on. That scene was fun. And it gets really complicated and stuff. And there's a guy who can't be killed.
Sapphirianna, just set yourself a high goal for the end of November, even if you don't get 50k done. But go for 50k!
