Mana~
User Image

"H-hey, stop that, Sis... Miko... come on," Mana said, awkwardly hugging her sister back. "You know I can't stand that. It's okay. I'm here now, right? And nice to see you, too by the way. Geez, first my sister calls me stupid then she blubbers all over on me. Can my welcome back get any worse?" When her younger twin released her, she smiled at her softly. "Are you okay now, Sis?" She then patted Miko on the head and nodded. "Yeah, this is Gannon. You mean to tell me you forgot him? Well, I guess you didn't spend too much time with him. You always hung out more with... what's his name, Ishira, was it? How is that kid doing, by the way?" She asked with a smirk. Then her gaze rested on Hikari. "This is a friend of mine I met, Hikari. She's kinda shy but I'm sure that she'll warm up to you eventually." She winked in Hikari's direction. "Hey, Hikari, say hi to my younger twin, Miko."

Hikari~
User Image

Her eyes fell to her feet and she mumbled, "Pleased to meet you," in a hardly audible voice. She was starting to feel very insecure, for some reason. When Mana's sister stared at her, it felt as though she was being read like an open book. Hikari didn't like that feeling. Something about Miko scared the wits out of Hikari, and she found herself grasping Gannon's arm and hiding behind him.

Part of herself was telling Hikari that Miko was probably a trustworthy person, but something about the half-Teru scared Hikari as well. Hikari felt magic emanating off of Miko. It was different than what Gannon or Mana had. It felt as though it had been used on Hikari, and that bothered her.

Noaah

So much for trying to stay inconcspicuous... And Vegna had just warned him too. Now he felt incredibly stupid... Noaah, forced to the floor by the run in with the young woman, let out a soft groan of pain as he brushed off his hands, sighing gently. He looked up, seeing the extremely long-haired girl, and smiled timidly, extending his hand towards her as she helped him up. His frail, lithe body wasn't all that heavy at all, back on his feet in no time as he brushed off his pants, embarassed. If he had been looking where he was going, this might not have happened...

"I-I'm fine, thank you..." he replied, letting out a small chuckle as he looked at the worried girl. He could tell she was embarassed herself, seeing her all flustered over the small accident. "I-It's alright, it's nothing... Are you alright?" he asked in return, his voice warm and kind, too soft to be that of a male's. Seeing the male that was accompanying her step in front of her, Noaah felt something inside of him for the first time since he'd awoken; fear. It was intimidating to have someone just push themselves up in front of you, like an impenetrable wall, looking at you with eyes that seemed to peer deep inside you, looking for the least amount of evil tainting your spirit.

User Image

Vegna

That's where Vegna stepped in. He had closed his eyes shortly after hearing Noaah fall to the ground, shaking his head in irritation. If their cover was blown because of this softy, he swore to give him a beatdown. However, as soon as he saw the male accompanying the young girl step in front protectively, Vegna did the same to Noaah, a sarcastic smirk on his face. "We don't need your welcomes, we've lived here most of our lives, thank you. And in case you haven't noticed, you did say it yourself; Ce Palym, the crowded city. Of course you never would've seen us before, stupid, it's one of the biggest cities on a landmass." His words seemed harsh as he gave the man a sneer, crossing his arms against his chest.

They couldn't trust anyone. Everyone was an enemy. For all he knew, that girl behind him could be their target. There was no way he would let anyone get near Noaah or him without them being from C.G.P. or a witness/suspect in the investigation they had to complete. They had more important stuff to do then to--

"We need to get on the nearest road out of town, please. We are looking to make our way towards the bottom of the tower, or was it the top, Vegna? O-Oh, pardon me, my name is Noaah, and that is Vegna. We're... uhm... adventurers! It's a pleasure to make both of your acquaintances." The soft-spoken, silver-haired male reached a hand over to the teru first, and gave a friendly smile to the girl behind him, showing that he meant no harm. He figured that if they were being offered help, he might as well take it, right? Logically, the more people helping meant the faster they could bring the target home.

Vegna's eyes darted to Noaah's head, practically shooting daggers at the back of his head. What...?! How dare he just make a decision like this without consulting him first?! Vegna felt rage boil inside his body, but it quickly subsided as he simply looked off towards the side, refusing to introduce himself any further. He had no choice but to stick with Noaah, but that didn't mean he couldn't disobey him.

Ishira
User Image

Ishira was puzzled by the other man's protectiveness of the daintier one, "Be that as it may, you two are obviously not Teru. I would think to make note of foreigners living in my city," Ishira pressed on defensively, his smile gone by now. He was caught of guard by the dainty one's interjection of their arguement. He awkwardly took Noaah's hand in a shake, but then quickly regrouped himself with a smirk and a sideways glance at Vegna, "Lived her all your lives huh? And yet you don't know the way out of the city?" Ishira confirmed the man's lie when his gaze shifted away.

Rhaplanca
User Image

Rhaplanca's personality changed much like the time at the inn. She seems to change personality in situations she is uncomfortable with. This time she just didn't want to appear vulnerable. Being responsible for saving the tower, Rhaplanca had a 'go it alone' point of view and didn't wish to rely on others. This was her true inner self, her outer shell was only seeking approval from others.
User Image "Ishira, enough. It is my fault we met so brutishly. For that I apologize," Rhaplanca stepped out from behind Ishira confidently.
User Image "Nice to meet you both, I am Rhaplanca," she bowed her head a little, "and this is my vanguard, Ishira," she gestured, "Ishira," she said flatly as she turned to him.

Ishira was taken aback by Rhaplanca's assertiveness and glanced sideways, "There are two exits one straight ahead will lead you up the tower, but it is impossible to travel through the Frozen Eye so it's a dead end," he looked back at Vegna, "The other is in the opposite direction, just turn around and head a street over and continue in that direction until you reach the south gate that leads down the tower," he said through gritted teeth. But as Rhaplanca's vanguard he could not disobey an order, he only regretted her brazen. What's with her? Why won't she just let me protect her?

Rhaplanca turned to Vegna with a look seeking approval before she approached Noaah.
User Image "I'm glad you're okay, and don't worry about me, like I said I do it all the time." She smiled as she tilted her head, "If there is anything else we can assist you both with to make up for my clumsiness do not hesitate to ask of it," she added sincerely to the two men.

!!!

((Edited for conduct reasons ^^; Sorry))

There was little to no time left for conversation though, as the 'pleasant' introduction between adventurers was interrupted a sudden shrill from the depths of the city. Fleeing Teru people scattered away from a district in the East, very few minding where they were going or who they bumped into. They were too busy panicking to care about someone else. But why was everyone so frightened?
"Tower Guardians!!!" someone shouted as they came screaming by the four. "Tower Guardians have emerged from the Steppe and they're CRAZY!"

Thank you, random citizen, for making things clear to us.
Now everyone please take note of the explosive gunfire heading your way.

Sure enough, there approaching from the East was a pair of rather intimidating and somewhat old-looking A.B.R Units attacking the Teru people.
Make of it what you will.

Gannon… User Image

Gannon wasn't upset or surprised that Mana's sister didn't remember him. It'd been years since they'd seen each other. And back then, he still had his horns. Without thinking about it, he ran his hands through his silvery hair where his horns had been. Though he was somewhat surprised when Hikari took hold of his arm, a look of fear in her eyes. After a second or two he understood what was going on. Remembering back to when he had first met the twins, he recalled Miko's clairvoyance ability. How she could catch scenes from someone's past. Hikari must have felt something. He turned to the Reyvateil and chuckled a bit. "Felt that, did ya? Nothin' ta worry about. Miko probably doesn't even realize she does it." The Teru thought a moment before adding, "Ya know, just think of it like a dog givin' ya a sniff."

Rhaplanca
User Image

Rhaplanca's extended offer was interrupted by a shrill mechanical cry. She covered her ears and inhaled sharply and let out a cry of pain. The ground began to quake and havoc ensued as terrified citizens scattered. Immediately Rhaplanca felt responsible to take charge. She turned to the source of the chaos and noticed two huge tower guardians.

User Image "A.B.R. units?!" she was in disbelief, "why would tower guardians attack Ce Paylm?" She said as she stood against the running crowd.
User Image "This is no good," she warned, "I would prefer reinforcements but I think we can do this if we stay alert," She looked back at her vanguard and newly met acquaintances, "Noaah, Vegna, take the south exit and leave Ce Palym and get to safety," she looked to Ishira, "Ishira, let's do this."

Ishira
User Image

Ishira collected himself rather quickly amidst all the chaos and took his position in front of Rhaplanca, "Right," he said as he brandished his staff, "What's with them?" he said as the machines approached slowly, almost resisting moving forward, "Aren't they supposed to stay in the tower? They're getting to close," he stood his ground, "Rhaplanca!" he called back to her.

User Image "I'm on it," she responded as she raised her arms out and focused, "Analyzing targets," she said in monotone.

Noaah

The woman's Vanguard was upsetting him deeply, and so was Vegna; were they both looking for a fight? If there was one thing Noaah hated, it was having to fight. During his 'incubation' period, he'd been injected with data and history of previous eras from both the tower of this world, Fa Ciel, and of Sol Ciel. The amount of bloodshed and war was disastrous. He never wanted to live through such a period ever again. But he'd been told by the C.G.P. Corp. that by apprehending the Third Generation escapee Reyvateil, they would be able to end all the fighting between Reyvateils and humans, and all other races living in constant argument.

Noaah looked at the woman for a second, and noticed that she seemed to have changed somehow. Her demeanor was a lot more... reserved, and she seemed to speak with a straight-forward confidence. She went from klutz to leader in a few seconds, displaying her ability to command and stay calm in a few sentences. Noaah had to say, he was now intimidated by both her and her bodyguard, reclining a bit towards Vegna.

However, after the male she'd introduced as Ishira had spoken, he found himself approaching Rhaplanca, a smile on his face as she smiled towards him as well. He looked at Ishira for a second, showing a hint of fear in his nervous expression. "I suppose that means we will be going downwards... Thank you..." His voice was shy, seeing that this particular Teru kind of scared him, but other then that, he looked back at Rhaplanca, happy to see that she'd returned to her 'normal self', if he could call it that. "Oh, no no, it's fine! We just needed directions, that is all!" he said, cheerily.

Vegna

Vegna, however, was not cheery at all. He kept his burning, dark amber eyes glaring at Ishira, arms crossed tightly over his chest. "Tch, this is barely your city, kid.", was all he had to say, turning his gaze away from the group, preferring not to get involved any further. He already felt like punching this guy's lights out... Arrogant people like him pissed him off. A lot. Not that he knew, he'd never met people in the first place, but using the situation as an example, he could tell he didn't like that sort of over-protective know-it-all.

His eyes narrowed as he looked at the horizon, seeing people moving a bit too fast to be window shopping. His arms dropped to his sides as he faced the growing crowd of people, hearing the low buzz of activity, before a great mass of citizens began to pour forth, stumbling over each other and screaming. "Dammit, A.B.R.'s?" Vegna commented, seeing the ancient machines large bodies hover up ahead, seemingly attacking anyone in their way. A few people had already been injured, as far as he could tell, since some had fallen to the ground.

Hearing Rhaplanca's words, Vegna couldn't help but smirk, shaking his head. "Hah, and miss a fight like this? Heck no! We're in this as much as you guys are!" he said, looking at Noaah. "Hey, know any Song Magic?"

Noaah nodded his head, giving him a sign of 'Yes'. He had one branch of Song Magic, with one Red Song Magic ready to use. He also had a Blue Song Magic, but at the moment, they didn't need it. Would they be fighting now? Noaah let out a sigh, getting into a position behind Vegna. After he'd just finished saying he hated fighting... Vegna turned to him and nodded, once he'd walked over next to him, both of the boys looking at the A.B.R. units. "We'll focus our attacks on slowing them down, and you should take them out..." Noaah suggested, looking at Ishira. Finally, when everything was said and done, Noaah looked at the A.B.R. units and closed his eyes, raising his hands towards the skies.

A fluid, graceful voice floated from inbetween his lips, as he began singing to bring forth his spell. A red sphere of energy began to glow between his hands, sparkling and crackling with intensity as he sang on.

Vegna listened to the words of the song he sang, and began to sing as well, raising his hands towards the orb of energy, trying to keep in tune with Noaah. Only a few seconds into the Song Magic, Vegna's lyrics began to change. Slowly, he began letting his own emotions show in the lyrics, conjuring up feelings of negativity and power, instead of warmth, like Noaah had been doing. The color of the red orb began to change slightly, becoming darker, as it was laced with black energy, the energy ball now a sick twist of crimson and black. Vegna's eyes opened, his eyes blinking as he noticed what he'd done. He couldn't concentrate on singing while Noaah was singing... It was pissing him off to hear his girly voice.

The orb darkened furhter, as Vegna's emotoins overpowered Noaah's, the ball becoming almost totally black. Vegna could see Noaah was struggling, and he shook his head in dissapointment, beginning to sing once again, this time louder then the other boy. Vegna sang louder and faster, using his own lyrics and changing the song, making Noaah stutter and stop, his eyes opening as he was unfocused. Quickly, Vegna finished the spell, and pointed his hand at the A.B.R. units, sending the now completely black sphere hurling at them, exploding on contact in a surge of dark red waves, grey smoke billowing around them as the fiery ball exploded.

Miko~
User Image

"Wh-what...did...you...say!?" Miko growled at Gannon and clenched her fists, arms stiffened at her sides. "You...uncivilized creep! If this is how you are, I'm glad I forgot you!" She crossed her arms and turned her back to him. When she'd managed to compose herself, she turned around and looked at Hikari. "Sorry about before. I didn't mean to alarm you. I constantly am using my Teru magic, and so when my natural-born ability kicks in, so does my magic. I didn't mean to alarm you or intrude on your privacy. You don't have to worry. I don't intend on staying for long. Just long enough to bring my sister home." Miko turned back to Mana. "So, are you coming home or not?" The half-Teru didn't quite take a liking to Hikari for some reason. Maybe it was because she could already tell that the Reyvateil didn't like her without even giving her a chance, or maybe it was because her sister showed up three weeks late, dragging this interloper on, and using her as an excuse not to come home. Perhaps a bit of jealousy could have been added into the mix. Whatever the reason, Miko could tell immediately that their relationship was going to be, at the very least, a bit strained.

Mana~
User Image

"Eheheheh... sorry, Sis. Thing is, you guys are going to have to wait. Hikari here needs to get to Pallieu ASAP. So, I won't be coming home till she's safe inside that city." Mana was completely oblivious to the tension in the air between the Reyvateil and her sister. "But, hey, you can come along with us! I miss you and all. The more the merrier, right?"

Miko~
User Image

Though she was pretty angry, Miko forced a smile. "Of course. How inconsiderate of me. If this young girl needs to get home, then it's the right thing to do to help her get there. So, I'll join and help you out. I may not be good with combat, but my archery skills are decent, and I'm an expert with healing magic." She sighed. "And I doubt either of you know the spell to get through the Frozen Eye, do you? I've been taught it, however I'm not sure if my magic is strong enough, considering I'm only half-Teru. In any event, we're going to need to head into the city of Ce Palym. Let's go." She started ahead at a quick pace. The sooner we can get done with this nonsense, the better.

Rhaplanca
User Image

Rhaplanca was confused by the eagerness of Vegna and was about to insist on her dismissal of them both but she kept concentrating on receiving data from the enemy... that is until Noaah began to sing. Rhaplanca felt a knot twist in her stomach when Vegna joined in and her arms dropped to her sides. Men... singing hymmnos? How is this possible?! Rhaplanca watched in disbelief as Noaah's pure voice was overtaken by Vegna's raw hate. Rhaplanca fell silent and motionless.

Ishira
User Image

Ishira had nodded to Vegna in agreement expecting them to be well versed in combat, not song magic. His horrified eyes fell back on the two, "What?" then the sphere that Vegna resorted to launch redirected his attention back to the task at hand. When the smoke cleared he noticed the A.B.R. units were grounded and tightened his grip on his staff and charged it with lightning magic as he leaped high into the air and hurled the staff at the enemies adding a huge electrical explosion's damage to them to finish them off. He landed gracefully to retrieve his staff when one of the units launched a final attack at Rhaplanca, a particle beam from it's chestplate. Ishira turned toward Rhaplanca and called out her name.

Rhaplanca snapped back into focus with a quick verse of blue protective magic with an angelic voice as she pulled her arms to her chest and cowered back. When the beam reached her it was deflected by a massive over-excessive shield of magic. Rhaplanca fell to her knees and caught her breath, the speed in which she sang was astonishing. The surviving A.B.R. unit's power was drained from it's attack and an electrical surge silenced it.
User Image "Ishira," she said winded, "You can't just leave me unprotected like that."

Ishira was at her side in an instant to help her up with a painful look of regret, "I know that, I was so sure they were down," he kicked himself for leaving her side, "I won't do that again, I promise."

Rhaplanca lifted a hand to pause him. Still out of breath she turned to Vegna and Noaah, "Male Reyvateils? That's truly astonishing," she said with neither politeness nor rudeness, she was simply flat. She adjusted her pitch to show she was not to pass judgment, "How...?" she shook her head, "No that's not important. Thank you for your help, I'm grateful," she smiled with sincerity.

Ishira's face showed too much curiosity, but at least his expression seemed thankful as well.

Hikari~
User Image

"It's all right," Hikari mumbled in response to Miko's apology. However, she could still feel the tension between the two. It wasn't as if she disliked the half-Teru. She just felt uneasy around her. However, it appeared the girl was pretty put out by her already. So when she announced that she was going to be coming with, Hikari made up her mind to stay as far out of Miko's way as possible. She made sure to follow Miko quietly but quickly into the city, when suddenly, she felt the familiar charge in the air. Song magic! Hikari paused, listening carefully. Sure enough, she heard faint voices singing the magic not too far away. "Um... I think there might be a battle going on in that city," she said softly, pointing to Ce Palym. "What should we do?" She looked to Gannon as she spoke the question.

Gannon… User Image

Though he was aware that Hikari had been speaking to him, Gannon had only been half listening. His head was cocked to the side as he listened intently to a sound in the distance. He definitely heard singing, but he was having trouble understanding the words. Then something clicked. Hikari had said something about a battle. "Hymmnos..." Now that he was thinking about it, he cursed himself for not noticing sooner. "Well, I hate ta cut this little reunion of yer's short, girls, but we gotta go. Now." With that, he took hold of Hikari's arm and began moving into the town, in the opposite direction of the singing. If it came down to it, he knew he could take care of a Reyvateil or two, but if they had a vanguard with them, it could be trouble. And chances were that they were after his little group's own Reyvateil. "We'll skirt the edge of town, try n' get around 'em. If it comes down ta a fight, well, you just stay behind me, alright, kid?" He kept his voice down, speaking directly to Hikari, but motioned for the half-Teru sisters to follow along.
