"I was wondering....if maybe...you might want to....maybe kiss?" Datto flinched as if saying the word caused physical pain. He was certain that she would say no. Certain that she was say how it was too soon or how she didn't like him enough for that. At that moment his face reach a shade of red that was extreme even for him.

Datto's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates as Sora actually kissed him. His shock was short lived as she pulled away and apologized. He felt light headed and his nose felt runny and very warm. Also there was a warm salty taste on his lips. Before falling forward into Sora, he heard a voice at the back of his mind.
Maybe this was not such a wise decision.
Then Datto's consciousness faded away.

While sleeping Datto figured that he must really like flying because this was the third dream that he had about the subject. While sleeping he felt warmth on his lips that his dreaming couldn't interpret. He dreamed of fighting off hordes of hollows to protect Sora. He even had a dream of fighting a powerful Espada and defeating it just to show off to her. In his sleep he curled into a ball and wrapped himself in the blankets. He was the happiest he had been in awhile.

Hikari lowered her eyes to her feet. "..." She knew that Tsu was right. But she couldn't help but feel a little upset with him for not standing up for her. She absolutely didn't want to go. She also knew what was in store. She abolutely didn't want Kurotsuchi in her Soul Space, closest to her inner thoughts and desires. But she would have no choice but to allow him inside of her. She couldn't bring herself to say anything else.

Rangiku cleared her throat. "I think Taicho is back. I can feel his reiatsu nearby," she interrupted.

"Mmmmnmmm...Nani...?" Sora mumbled sleepily as she rolled away from the touch that was trying to wake her. She was having a weird dream.
Right now she was currently somewhere very hot because she could vividly see the heat waves come off the ground. Not only that, trees that had very few leaves were on fire, but not burning away, just on fire.
Where am I?
"Hello, Sora." came the same voice that had talked to her yesterday. "Huh?" Sora said as she turned around to see a large flaming bird perched on a rock. "Uh..." was all Sora could say as she stared at the beautiful bird. "I guess it's time I introduce myself to you." The bird spoke, but her mouth never moved. The fiery bird spread it's wings which brought forth a raging fiery tornado around Sora and the bird.
Sora instantly threw her arms up to block her face from the expecting to be hot wind and fire, but she slowly let them fall back to her side when she found she wasn't hot or burning. "If you yet to notice, I am your zanpakutou spirit." the bird said as it stared into Sora's eyes with fiery orbs. "My...zanpakutou...?" Sora asked like she didn't understand even though she did. The bird nodded it's head, "I have been waiting for the past few days to make our connection, and thanks to that Datto boy and the ruby he made you, our meeting has been sped up."
"How?" Sora questioned her zanpakutou. "It would seem that ruby enhanced my efforts in trying to make the connection. The bird said as it continued to keep it's wings spread out. "Now, enough talk. That Datto boy is persistent in waking you up. For us to become connected finally, you have to hear my name. If you don't, then I guess I was wrong in trying to make the connection now, and will have to wait til you are truly ready."
Sora just nodded her head and held a determined expression. The fiery tornado around her and the fiery bird raged stronger as the bird flapped it's wings.
"My name is..." The bird spoke, her voice fading out along with the fiery tornado that surrounded her and Sora.
"Mmmmn... Jouka...Fenikkusu..." Sora mumbled sleepily as she tossed in her sleep before waking up. She blinked a few times before turning to face Datto. With a very sleepy smile she told him. "Hehe. I just met my zanpakutou..." she said before plopping her head back down and falling asleep.

Rangiku wrinkled her nose at the way Yuu addressed her. "What is it with you and Hika-chan and those stuffy formal names anyway?" When Yuu took his leave, she followed. "I'll go with you." She didn't have any desire to stay near Tsurabisu anyway, considering she was a little more than irritated with him. Once out the door, the woman shrugged. "I was beginning to wonder if Taicho wasn't going to see you guys off."

Hitsugaya turned the corner of the street and used shunpo, closing the rest of the distance to the Urahara Shop. He stopped in front of the door and knocked, but recieving no response he decided to just step inside. Normally, he detested being so rude, but he figured that Urahara and Tessai were busy, and would probably be okay with it.

"Taicho! Why didn't you tell me where you were going?" Rangiku asked, coming up to him.

"Oh, come on. Waking you up would take a miracle. I didn't need any help to investigate this morning, anyway. There's nothing really to investigate. There isn't any sign of them. Besides the Bount, and he seems to have made himself scarce for the moment as well." The captain folded his arms and looked at his lieutenant, his expression grim. "So, are the others awake yet?" He then noticed Yuu behind Rangiku. "I see you're awake. Good morning."

As Datto reached out to wake Sora up she rolled away. Suddenly he felt a blast of heat pour from Sora and he backed up. It was gone as soon as it had arrived though and she then informed him of meeting with her Zanpakuto spirit. He was happy that she was now connected with her Zanpakuto, because now they might be able to train together.
He got out of bed and put on his soul academy uniform. Datto went into the kitchen where Kyoko was already making breakfast. He nodded his head in her direction,"Is there any way I can help you?"
She told him to pick some vegetables from the garden for breakfast. After he did he chopped them while she added them into a soup. They set the table and Datto went into the bedroom to wake up Sora. He found her sleeping, while she was hanging half way out of her bed.

Tsu ignored Rangiku as she left. He was a little worried about Hikari. He knew for some reason or another that she didn't like Kurotsuchi, but then again, he doubted that she had tried to get to know him. Rumors about him flew all over the Seireitei, and he'd admit that some of them were true. But others were just rumors. He'd gotten to know squad twelve's Captain pretty well over the years. He'd actually thought about transferring to that squad before. But he wouldn't be able to fight as much. Oh well. Tsu would be there, and nothing would happen. He had no doubt about it. "Well, who knows? Maybe once we're back in the Soul Society, you won't even need to go to the research department. Maybe being back home will be enough to help you?"
